    What a wasted opportunity. I find this game so dull with absolutely terrible pacing with my overall experience of this game being of frustration and boredom.

    Sure the graphics are great, but what’s the point in beautiful graphics when the world is lifeless and not interactive, or, that those graphics are locked behind poorly hidden loading screen areas? Sure, the combat CAN be thrilling,    What a wasted opportunity. I find this game so dull with absolutely terrible pacing with my overall experience of this game being of frustration and boredom.

    Sure the graphics are great, but what’s the point in beautiful graphics when the world is lifeless and not interactive, or, that those graphics are locked behind poorly hidden loading screen areas? Sure, the combat CAN be thrilling, but 90% of the time it feels messy. I’ve never felt in control of a combat situation. It’s so tightly ‘on the rails’ that it feels like a VR experience. There is almost 0 exploration because the gaming areas are so small. The voice acting and dialogue are terrible, childish and irritating. The RPG elements are so shallow and a bit pointless. Levelling up weapons with SP points? Sounds great, if you had any incentive to chose a progression path, but you just have to select ALL of the upgrades so what’s the point? Same as equipment, it’s just generic “next version is better” drivel. All of this was fine 20 years ago but not anymore. I think the worst thing about this game is the wasted opportunity. We all know and love the ff7 story, the world and the lore; so why not let us experience it from a new angle? Why not have midgar be an open world experience? Why not have a job/class system? Why not have mechanics for interacting with the world? *sigh* it’s just another lazy game with a premium price tag and I’m not looking forward to any of its expansions or future FF remakes….    … Expand

    A disappointing game to play, and not a true Remake at all.
    They have should called Final Fantasy VII Reboot. Because this is basically what the game is, in the end.
    The graphics is excellent, but the exploration is barely minimal, and definitely more similar to a corridor simulator game, rather than a true jrpg...

    En primer lugar, este juego no es una nueva versión real, sino un reinicio reescrito del original. Y en eso es un poco estafador.
    En segundo lugar, el juego es completamente lineal y el 80% se compone solo de escenas.

    Profundamente decepcionado después de la espera.

    I can recommend because the graphics are good, I like the gameplay with the effects, the story is also very interesting, the loot system is easy to understand, I also played the game on a platinum trophy.

    The first thing that made me want to try out this game was my love for the final fantasy series, when I heard a remake of the original was coming out I was excited, to play it. It took me a year to get the game and to be honest, I’m happy with my purchase.     The gameplay relies heavily on handholding and tutorial pop-ups that break immersion. Aside from that, combat is unintuitive and frustrating for a number of reasons: bad ai design, bad stun and stagger mechanics that are heavily biased against the player, and yet it's still too easy. It's just not great. Square has not been able to figure out 3D action-oriented gameplay in 20 years, and I really wish they would just abandon that venture and stick to thoughtful strategy.

    I think Square has gone too far into itself and lost touch with its fan base. In fact this game is an open mockery of fans, so much so that it's integrated into the story in a controversial twist that breaks the fourth wall and shatters any chance of immersion. It's a joke, they know it and they're laughing at you for buying it. These people don't appreciate video games as an art form anymore, and really that's just sad. I feel bad for Square. Selling your soul never really works out.

    In conclusion, Final Fantasy VII: Remake is a flamboyant testament of self-sabotage. I wish I could say I had the motivation to stick through to the next release being such a fan of the original, but frankly they lost me on this one. Once these losers get rich they get addicted and they stop caring about what they're doing. Don't enable them, don't give them your money.    … Expand

    FF7R is a **** great game. But every game has it's fair share of flaws. FF7R biggest flaw for me is that the pacing during some chapters can be a drag.

    in Russia, the game of the final fantasy series has a huge fan base. The generation of 1995-2005 grew up on them. It's a pity that SQUARE ENIX spits in the face of its loyal fans. Although my assessment will not do anything, but I will no longer be a game for fans of the final fantasy series.

    The only thing this game is, is pretty, it's stunningly beautiful and THAT IS IT
    1. This is an interactive movie, there are so many cutscene interruptions that it gets down right annoying. SE can I have some GAME with my video?
    2. Playing on standard combat is pathetic, your NPC companions are dumb as a box of rocks stuck in cement. Give me the old FF& combat style any day over this.    The only thing this game is, is pretty, it's stunningly beautiful and THAT IS IT

    A faithful remake with a playful tone that opens up new timelines for the series. Retains the soul of the original but brings it up to speed with a bang of a motorcycle engine. Graphics and gameplay are both a joy but occasional linearity and some padding keep it from being the perfect remake.

    I've always wanted to play Final Fantasy 7, which is amongst the most celebrated of the Final Fantasy games. My first interaction with Final Fantasy was with 4 on the DS and 10 on the PS2, the latter quickly becoming one of my favorite games of all times. There were some highs and lows with the series ever since 10, and the latest main series entry (15) left me worried for what FF wasI've always wanted to play Final Fantasy 7, which is amongst the most celebrated of the Final Fantasy games. My first interaction with Final Fantasy was with 4 on the DS and 10 on the PS2, the latter quickly becoming one of my favorite games of all times. There were some highs and lows with the series ever since 10, and the latest main series entry (15) left me worried for what FF was becoming. When FF7 Remake came out, I was cautiously optimistic that this game would make me fall back in love with the series. The game exceeded my expectations in every way -- a gorgeous story, some of the most well-written characters of the entire FF series, gorgeous graphics and soundtrack, and an engaging and challenging combat system. I can't comment on how this compares to the original entry, but I can promise that any person approaching this game with an open-mind and expectations on what the remake project is trying to achieve, they will thoroughly love the game. My only small bit of criticism is with some unnecessary lulls in the story and action which could have been tightened up in my opinion. Still, only a minor gripe in comparison with the absolutely achievement of a game this is.… Expand

    The gameplay is ridiculously fun, the characters all have so much personality to them as well. The game is gorgeous and the story is intriguing, yet it doesn't feel like a complete game.

    I already excited by this game when I was playing the original one in my childhood, this remake is once again re-defined the "remake" of the game. I am really appreciated SQUARE had the "guts" to remake this game without disappointing the old fans and also (I strongly believe!) attracting new fans for the franchise.

    SQUARE had finally achieved to figure the battle system for the new era    I already excited by this game when I was playing the original one in my childhood, this remake is once again re-defined the "remake" of the game.     SQUARE had finally achieved to figure the battle system for the new era of FF by advancing the ATB with the ARPG elements.

    I fell in love with the Final Fantasy series with FFVI and the original FFVII was my favourite of them all. The remake expanded on the story and made for some fantastic nostalgia, thank you Square.

    The story is paced in a big open world with marvellous and rich architecture and different locations, adding to the world building. In my opinion it's a truly impeccable game for it's time and even though the targeted audience are teens, the game can be seen from a more mature perspective as well. The themes match every character perfectly and even adds to their personality even more, you can listen to tifa's theme for example. The boss themes are epic and exiting, listen to one winged angel for example.… Expand

    The plot is very unfriendly to new players. If you don't know anything about the original Final Fantasy 7, you will find the plot abrupt in many parts of the game.

    Fun, challenging combat. Excellent story. Amazing graphics. They took the original story and added to it. This is more like a re-telling. First 4 hours of the original game and they make it into 40 here. Anyone saying Its not the same story must not be paying attention. Worth it if you enjoy fast paced heavily story driven games. Cannot wait for the next release

    Un très beau remake dans le genre, le gameplay est très bon l’histoire remaniée ne dérange en rien, je ne met pas 10 à cause des **** bug ou des textures parfois un peu moche.
    Impatient que la suite sorte.

    I played it. I must admit, it's a really beautiful remake. But selling the game with different arcs and selling for 70$ each is a absurd. I think I'll stick with the PS1/PC classic version.

    There is a LOT of padding and filler, and at times just felt like a FF15 reskin, especially with the poor camera angles; however, it was still an enjoyable experience and I look forward to the next chapter. I just hope they cut all the unnecessary padding and filler, and stick to the main story line while flushing out the character development.

    Los gráficos, la banda sonora, el gameplay están buenísimos, perfecta la recreación, el problema está en querer agregar cosas nuevas a la historia y de la mano de Nomura, no era necesario y arruino parte de la experiencia, da miedo esperar que rayos va a hacer Nomura con las siguientes partes, que ese es otro problema, el juego está incompleto, apenas sales de Midgar termina el juego.Los gráficos, la banda sonora, el gameplay están buenísimos, perfecta la recreación, el problema está en querer agregar cosas nuevas a la historia y de la mano de Nomura, no era necesario y arruino parte de la experiencia, da miedo esperar que rayos va a hacer Nomura con las siguientes partes, que ese es otro problema, el juego está incompleto, apenas sales de Midgar termina el juego.

    Final Fantasy VII Remake is the game we've been waiting for from Square Enix for so long. Atmospheric, interesting and exciting all your attention modern jRPG with an interesting story and spectacular battles. To achieve the ideal, the project only needs more even graphics and all the content from the original release. If you were waiting for a turn-based classic with new graphics you will most likely be disappointed, since the game has changed a lot. Everyone else is happy with the release of the first really powerful single-player release from the internal Square Enix studio for many years. Especially after the failure of Final Fantasy XV.

    What matters is still intact, and that’s the heart and soul of one of the greatest stories in video game history. It’s a return to form that has felt a long time in coming, and what’s even better is that there’s still at least two more games of this quality to come...They can’t mess this up, can they?
