There’s really little else to say about Final Fantasy V Pixel Remaster other than that it’s a solid, faithful, and accessible rendition of one of the more underrated Final Fantasy titles. While it kind of bites that we don’t get to see the extra content from the Game Boy Advance version in this remaster, that’s a negligible quibble in the grand scheme of things. If you’re a longtime Final Fantasy fan who has somehow missed out on the adventure of Bartz, Lenna, Galuf, Faris and company, then this is a perfect chance to redress that.

With a decent story, okay characters, and pretty standard turn-based combat, Final Fantasy V does feel a bit too safe at times, but the expanded job system really ties a lot of the experience together. A forgotten Final Fantasy for many, but one that's still fun to play through.

The graphics are nice to see being remastered, the audio was good to play along to having been remastered as well. The slice of life improvements such as the animations was nice and appreciated but the biggest change is the optional stuff for the gameplay. Changing experience, ap and gill drop can either make this game easier to just enjoy the story or harder if you're looking for a challenge. It also offers changing the text graphics back to 32 bit and the same with the music if you want to experience the game in a more retro way. It was great to revisit this game and enjoyed the experience just as much as I did the first time. Expand
