    Decepcionante trabajo de EA en este juego. La menor cantidad de novedades añadida hasta la fecha en un FIFA y la peor jugabilidad en años. Siempre este juego empieza con buen pie en cuanto a la jugabilidad, pero a los dos parches de la salida (unas semanas después) esta vuelve a ser la misma de siempre (muy simple en el online, basándose en correr y aprovecharse de exploits). El hándicapDecepcionante trabajo de EA en este juego. La menor cantidad de novedades añadida hasta la fecha en un FIFA y la peor jugabilidad en años. Siempre este juego empieza con buen pie en cuanto a la jugabilidad, pero a los dos parches de la salida (unas semanas después) esta vuelve a ser la misma de siempre (muy simple en el online, basándose en correr y aprovecharse de exploits). El hándicap continúa presente en el juego y eso hace muy injustos los partidos; y además han empeorado la interfaz con respecto a juegos anteriores. A todo esto se le suma el pay to win del online, siendo muchísimo más fácil progresar pagando por sobres de jugadores. Ya puede dar un cambio la franquicia porque actualmente este juego no merece la pena. A pesar de todo ello, posee muchos modos de juego y es entretenido de jugar con amigos. 4/10

    There has never been a Fifa game with worse defending than this. It may be an all round better game than Fifa 20 but thats not saying much when it's being compared to arguably the worst game i have ever played. This game isn't even worthy of a detailed review. I hate it.

I am on my 30's and I've been playing FIFA since 1995. Always have been my favourite game. I owned FIFA 95, FIFA 99, FIFA 2002, FIFA 2007, FIFA 2010, FIFA 2012, FIFA2015 FIFA 2019 and FIFA 21. So I guess i know what I am talking about and it's so painful how much they are destroying this game on purpose. The first main issue is this: FIFA IS NOT A SIMULATOR! It used to be. Now is not. Gameplay gives you the illusion that your actions matter, and that the match result will more or less reflect your gameplay, but we all experience the so-called "Scripting". It may be reasonable to take away some "simulation" just so newbiees don't give up when playing online, but just don't call it football simulator, is just a different thing.
    On career mode is just so silly, I remember good times with FIFA 2007 when instead of just brain-wash you with brands and teams you could create your own fantasy football club, starting from the bottom and eventually being able to make it an elite club, with options like investing in your stadium, etc. Now, is not a simulator on that sense neither. So what is FIFA? Just an illusion, good graphics, but at the end of the day is the same as watching a netflix show, if the match is meant to end on a specific way, you will experience a lot of very weird things so that the result of the match is as it's meant to be. Is not a football simulator, is not a management simulator, is not an e-sport, I just don't know what it is anymore... so sad...    … Expand

    It is CRAP. Tried playing career. Nah my position switches mid game and i cant get it back. Now it just says stay in position. Tackling doesnt work. Graphics are alright but the rest is awful. Wouldnt recommend.

    While playing online, whoever the artificial intelligence wants is the game that wins. It doesn't matter how well you play. You may get nervous in the game. I haven't been playing for years, so I thought I'd give it a chance, and I encountered the same scene again.

    There are a lot of reasons why I think the game is bad, but I don't think I have enough space here to say them all, so, I'm gonna tell you only a few of them.

    First reason might be that it's almost the same game as FIFA 20. It's basically 90% FIFA 20. The only real change is in Career Mode, which is not even that big, and it clearly does not make the mode great, it might not be better    There are a lot of reasons why I think the game is bad, but I don't think I have enough space here to say them all, so, I'm gonna tell you only a few of them.

The real big change is only the training system, which might become quite annoying after some time because you literally have to simulate it every time, why couldn't it play automatically? I mean I don't want to stop every other day just to simulate it.

    Another reason, might be the biggest, is Ultimate Team. I know is just a game mode and I don't have to play it, but it's the main mode and it should be good, right? Well, in EA's opinion, not really, it's enough to make money. Well, us, the player would really like to be able to enjoy it, it would be rally nice, I mean, if EA were capable to create a great game in the past, why couldn't they now? Because they don't want to, because they know people would buy it anyway. So, they don't really care if the gameplay is not enjoyable. The main reason why the gameplay is **** is the script, which we don't have a proof it exists, but we all know it does, and of there are 2 reasons it exists. First of all, they want this game to be played a lot, just like Overwatch, League of Legends, Counter Strike and all those kind of games, so they want you to have a reason to play again, that's why they make you lose, to have a reason to keep playing, to win and to grind, that's why a lot of players have a record which is about 50-50 because that's what they want, mediocre players to keep playing, and with that, you might be stuck in a division, just like me, today I'm in division 7, tomorrow 6, and in a couple days 7 again, because I win 5, and I don't just win, I destroy guys with much better teams, and then, tomorrow I get beaten like 5-0 with 70% possession and against a gold non-rare team, and that's extremely frustrating. The other reason why if you change the team you might be playing good for a few matches, is because they want you to lose after a while, so you will think the team is the problem and you will buy packs, because this game is **** PAY TO WIN. And, unfortunately, I think the problem is only about 60% percent EA's fault, and I regret to say it, but the community is a problem too, I mean, if you wanna change something, don't play the game they want you to play, they just want you to play only those OP players and be sweaty AF, even in friendlies, I mean why the **** would you include skill base matchmaking in friendlies ffs, and a match limit, in FRIENDLIES, which is supposed to be the game mode which should note be sweaty, it should be friendly, but luckily, not all friendlies have a match limit, so why couldn't you, the player, help the others in those matches? Instead of being sweaty and wanting to win no matter what, do the golden goal rule, or at least just let them score the goals, and after that you could play it the way you want. And the other problem is the guys that are buying FIFA points, they break the game, please, if you ever said that the game is **** because it's pay to win but you bought FIFA points, then you are part pf the problem, because even you probably didn't buy a big amount and you say it didn't matter because it was just like 20$, that's what other million people say just like you, and if a million people gave 20$ thinking that is not a really big amount and it wouldn't change anything, well let me tell you that it did, because that's a lot of money. And I get that you say that the streamers are the ones that breaks the game because they spend thousand of dollars on FIFA points, and I agree, but still, we, the community, might make a difference. So, if you lose, at least try to not get frustrated, because it might not actually be your fault.

    Another problem with the community are the toxic players. Some of the celebrations are so **** annoying, especially when Mbappé scores, because 90% of the times, the goal was not scored because your opponent is good, but because Mbappé is **** OP.

    Another reasons are the other game modes, and the problem is that EA don't **** care about them. Seasons used to be so much fun back in the game, and now are playing maximum 1000 players, it's **** dead. Pro clubs might be the only mode I had fun playing, but guess what, EA doesn't care about it, so it's **** hidden in the online section, which no one cares about, and it haven't been improved in YEARS. It might be the best game mode, if more people played it, or if constant updates were brought. I mean look at 2K, their main NBA game mode is MyPlayer, which is basically 2K's pro clubs mode, but it's actually made good, or at least better than pro clubs, which has so much potential.

    I am a career mode player and I personnaly appreciated this Fifa 21. Having the possibility to jump in/out in a simulated game is gold. The option to change player position is nicely done. Managing sharpness is a little bit too time consuming in the beginning but after a while you can simulate almost every session. New player development is a mixed bag. I am delighted I don't have to play repetitive mini games to improve every attribute but it is way too easy to improve skill moves, wrong foot & work rate. These huge improvements should be limited (only 1 star to choose for each player) and come at a price. Atm, every young midfielders & forward can become 5 stars geniuses with high working rate in less than 6 months.

    Gameplay wise, the game is almost the same as fifa 20 imo, only faster but you have the option to slow it down so it looks less inhuman. I almost never used the new ability to control the direction of my teammates runs but the option is there for the gifted players. As usual, defending is too hard. Defensive midfield abandon you and full backs deliberately leave huge spaces in their back. Playing the offside is very difficult and goalkeepers have not improved.

    On legendary or Ultimate difficulty, you will suffer the classic Fifa scripts. If you lead 1-0, prepare yourself to see your best forward hit the post from a position he usually always scores while on the other side of the pitch your 90 rated defender controlled by the AI suddenly lose all defensive awareness and freeze so your opponent finally equalize at the last min of the game.     This game is absolute trash. You know exactly when you’re going to win or lose. Match scripting and the same game is released every year claiming things have changed or they’ve made a progress. Unrealistic as well. I would suggest not to buy this piece of trash.

Consistently awful connection despite getting between 20-60 ping, clueless AI and absurd animations, and even a glitch that forced me to forfeit a game and lose my match bonus. This is all aside from the fact that EA is a ruthless, greedy company with no desire to make good video games. For a game that used to be so popular, even among people who didn't care about the pro leagues, there's literally no hype around it anymore. This game is made for little kids that have never played any other video game, anyone else would have high enough expectations to know this game isn't worth touching. The only saving grace is the menus. But you might as well play FM at that point.… Expand

Just run through opponents defense and press shoot. Even a 5 year old can score 4-5 goals easily. This is not football, this is disgrace. You feel dumb to play this game. Creativity is not rewarded instead game wants you to just press shoot every time. Also freekicks are biggest fail ever. The system is broken. Headers dont work. WORST FIFA EVER… Expand

    Am a pes guy , and I recently tried fifa 20.The game play of 21 for me has improved from 20. Still needs to reduce some unrealistic movements in the game and needs more weight like pes. Asides that it's a better overall experience for me.

I decided to buy this one since it was on sale for 10 dollars, so I though “sure, why not?” It’s painful to see how little this game has changed in the past 4 years. It feels like almost exactly the same game as 17 except I’d say the goal keepers are worse than before (I can’t speak for 18, 19 or 20 since I didn’t play those). Defending still feels like your players don’t entirely understand how to play their position since at times they will leave players wide open for an easy goal (I play on world class difficulty so this CANNOT happen). Attacking also largely feels the same, it’s very easy and straightforward to find an opening and thread the ball between the defenders for the most part. Over the head through balls feel really overpowered and way too easy to perform. Since every team plays exactly the same, once you’ve found a strategy that works for you, you’ll pretty much always be able to create chances on goal no matter which team you play. It’s a simple rinse and repeat, the thing that will cause you to lose games is whether you’re able to capitalize on your chances or not. Since there are often times the AI will score on you even though you did nothing wrong, or couldn’t have prevented them from scoring because your AI defense left them open, this is what will ultimately decide if you win or lose in the end. Not because you didn’t play better or because you played worse, but because the AI decided certain things were going to happen. I’m not saying this is “scripting” but you could certainly argue that the AI seems to plan out certain things. Overall, the game really hasn’t changed much. Career mode is largely the same, ultimate team seems to have gotten all the focus as usual. If you see it for dirt cheap like I did, and you don’t have PES (which is a much better game in my opinion), then go for it, it’s worth 10 or less dollars, but any more than that and I’d say don’t waste your money.… Expand

    It's the same every year. And I don't mean the same game ( that is actually implied) but the game launches good and enjoyable. Then, with the first patch they f*ck up everything. The bounces are the most frustrating thing ever and let's not talk about handicap. I'll think about a long long time before buying fifa 22. This story have been repeating itself since fifa 18.

    Just got this game today and it doesn’t take long to see that EA blew another one. Insanely scripted and buggy game. Between Madden and fifa just about everyone at ea needs to be fired. Just embarrassing at this point there is no realism in these games anymore.

    Das ist mit Abstand der schlimmste Fifa-Teil. Völlig verbuggt, ständig Abstürze (auch nach über einem Jahr) und der FUT-Modus kann in „Zufallsmodus“ umbenannt werden, weil man einfach absolut keine Spielkontrolle mehr hat. Zweite Bälle landen fast immer (!) beim Gegner, Tacklings müssen exakt die perfekte Intensität und das perfekte Timing haben, sonst läuft der Gegner einfach auf einen zuDas ist mit Abstand der schlimmste Fifa-Teil. Völlig verbuggt, ständig Abstürze (auch nach über einem Jahr) und der FUT-Modus kann in „Zufallsmodus“ umbenannt werden, weil man einfach absolut keine Spielkontrolle mehr hat. Zweite Bälle landen fast immer (!) beim Gegner, Tacklings müssen exakt die perfekte Intensität und das perfekte Timing haben, sonst läuft der Gegner einfach auf einen zu und rennt einen um und im Anschluss mit dem Ball vorbei. Keeper halten kaum noch Bälle, egal ob man ein TOTS Oblak oder sonst wen im Tor hat. Messi, Felix, Griezman und Co. laufen quasi durch die Verteidigung durch und selbst wenn man die Keeper steuert und die richtige Ecke erahnt, kassiert man als wäre das Tor leer. Grauenhaft, frustrierend und ohne jeglichen Spielspaß. Schade dass dieser korrupte Verein fast alle (Spieler-) Lizenzen hält.… Expand

In fifa the rewards which they now tell you are below 1% is to use a player for some matches before they bring out the next fifa and make hit redundant.why is this? I really dont know. its not like the payout will effect fifa in anyway or cost them money. The item they give us can only be there for a duration of the game because some poor sole has gambled god knows how much to get them. Yes in money and packs cost alot of money, 1 lightning round pack can cost nearly £30.

    Gambling is known to be addictive mature and sensible adults get hooked on it and can't stop its why there is an age rating yet fifa is able to get away with having a game that pushes it in your face and aim it as anyone above 3 that plays it.

    Obviously a 3 year isn't going to gamble. But what about a 12 year old or above? I have been playing fifa since I was 12 going back to fifa 09. When gambling was implemented into fifa I was starting secondary school, I couldn't afford packs and my parents wouldn't put their cards into consoles as they didn't trust them. Luckily.

    My team every fifa was about 50k in total after a year back in fifa 12 to 15 there was no weekend league or squad battles ect... there was seasons with bad rewards. Packs go through fifa points no one ever really spent coins. It was bad because you had to buy contract for players with match earnings and every so often you could afford a player. But it didn't matter even with my team of 2000 coin players. The game was fun and I could still win. Compare that to today's fifa. If you want to try a 50k team in fifa 21 in division 10 good luck to you. lucky to score 1 goal.

    I say this because even with that I dreamed to try players like Messi and Ronaldo but I couldn't get packs but if I could of done as a kid I would of without hesitation. Compare that to today's. A different world in a way. Most have bank cards on consoles. Kids have easier access to packs. This game does something that makes the gambling so bad I would genuinely say its a crime.

    Team of the season this is a big event in fifa one of thier schemes to try encourage you to gamble. They bring out a team of player that can beat any other player in the game with maxed out stats. They put them in packs and tell you the chance of pulling 1 is below 1% but they won't tell you how below it is. They then implement lightning rounds every hour there are packs with a still low but slightly higher chance of getting one these packs usually costs around 30 pound each. They run out after an hour so you have a limited time to get them obviously making you think you need them.

    For me on this game as it was impossible for me get good players and grind the game I had college and work so not alot of time for games so basically ultimate team was unplayable online. It wasnt fifa 12 you won't win with a bad team and everyone was grinding weekly tournaments I didn't have the time to gamble. So I put in the money and after 20 minutes nothing back. Just lots of 83 rated cards worth nothing. That's when I learned just how bad the gambling was.

    The gameplay this fifa is the worst it has ever been. And its for a reason to explain this fifa I have had time to grind because of covid. I only played online I had 556 wins to 432 losses. I don't feel like I win when I win and I dont feel like lose when I lose. Defending ai makes space for attackers and attackers sometimes are really out of place.

    For more experience I play fut champs usually finish elite 3 or gold 1 I hate playing it but given the time we are in I can't find anything better to do. The rewards from this mean my team for the first time ever is cracked.

    yet the gameplay makes everyone feel it isn't enough. You have a winning streak you lose so you sell your team, for some reason ea take a cut of the coins you sell your players for on thier own market and thier own game explain that me. No wait don't. The reason this is rhe game manipulates you in every situation to try and gamble and that is the crime. In every aspect of ultimate team weather its the rewards, transfer market, sbcs. Its all there to make you lose coins so that you eventually take the easy route and buy packs exept it isn't an easy route its a lose all your money for nothing route. To me pay to win is a crime and the game taking out enjoyment to force you towards gambling is even more of a crime.     Terrible game. Forces crap teams/ players to win with last second/ miracle goals. Makes defenders foul or ignore the ball. Doesn't allow you to select players you desire to control often. All in the name of having you buy packs and spending money.

Probably , but I really wonder if the developers want you to pay a lot or if they want to deliver an impressive simulation. Time will tell.

    There are some things though, that I like about the game and it is the amount of content and special cards I could get in the first three moth of playing. But I beg you , if you love football simulations as much as I do, don’t spend to much money. I had the best season ever without spending cash extra, and it made the experience much easier for me to know that I can proceed in the game without paying. But until Fifa decides , that this game is about skills rather then it being a rail-simulation, we just gotta wait and see.     Remember when people talked about how AI was going to take over the world? Rest assured, FIFA21's AI isn't that smart. Even the IQ of my toaster is greater than that.

    You can make the game much better by only considering the successful points made in FIFA19 and PES2013 and the mods made by the mod communities. I'm afraid PES2022 will be better than FIFA22.

    At fifa 21, what bothers me the most is changing the rules during the match. If you lead, and if you are still better, the game often leads to a tie. And so you have stupid misses, even weirder defenses and so on. From the technical side, this game is perfect, but from the managerial side, it is the bottom!

AI defending is solid at times, at other times hysterically bad, but the worst aspect of defense this year is the case of the always missing full-backs. It simply does not matter what your LB/RB's work rate is, what his/her positioning rating is, the instructions you use, or the position adjustments you make. No matter what you do, one or both of these players will track to the very center of the midfield, almost to the CDM position. The AI will receive the ball high up the pitch, make two below average passes, and then blast a full-field through ball down the wing which, regardless of who you've brought back to defend it, will work. Then comes the classic sprint to the sideline and retain possession because every steal goes out of bounds. It's no exaggeration to say this happens, minimum, 15-25 times a game depending on AI possession. Even when it's not threatening or even when your fullbacks are pacey, it still ruins whatever realistic feel might have been there originally. The only defense is spamming offsides trap. Maybe just one attempt to attack up the middle, out of the hundreds and hundreds of attempts to the exact same spot down the wing would be a good idea. It is possible, through significant manipulation of the sliders, except for the GK slider which is broken (yours will always get beaten 90-95% of the time and the AI will always save it 90-95% of the time except on rare occasions against bad teams) to enjoy a season or two on career mode. Granted, we sound a tad spoiled considering EA's FIFA is one of the best soccer simulations available but there are obvious, obvious errors with the new features promised each year. If a collection of gamers on reddit and twitter can figure out how to patch those gaping holes with only things like sliders, it shouldn't be that hard for EA to do the same. Overall, if you're looking for a calming experience with a game, you're in the wrong place. But, if you're hopelessly addicted to this series of games as most of us are, wait for the next title.     Better than last year but not by much and that's not saying a lot. It's billed as a realistic football game but plays very little like actual football. Defending is a mess. Player switching sucks. Players stand around doing nothing. Defenders are idiots and don't track attackers or get goal side. Attacking teammates are way too static. Fouls/refs are a mess. Keepers are still awful. AndBetter than last year but not by much and that's not saying a lot. It's billed as a realistic football game but plays very little like actual football. Defending is a mess. Player switching sucks. Players stand around doing nothing. Defenders are idiots and don't track attackers or get goal side. Attacking teammates are way too static. Fouls/refs are a mess. Keepers are still awful. And there's tons of bugs and glitches.

    CM finally got a decent upgrade, but it's still so far off from being a solid mode. Two thirds of the additions over the last decade have been horrible, so each year half the game is just fixing the broken stuff introduced in the game from a previous year.

    FUT is a toxic and exploitative game mode that is only rewarding if either you have boat loads of time to trade in the market or if you're willing to spend money on packs. And the game modes aren't even that much fun.

    Por fin cambió la jugabilidad en el Volta, después del añadido del año pasado, que era como jugar a fútbol 11 pero con 5 jugadores, este año cambió la jugabilidad, ahora se nota más dinámico que en otros modos, sobre todo el tiro a trallón, muy chulos esos detallitos añadidos.
    Otra cosa positiva, el añadido del modo carrera, aunque podrían haberlo pulido algo más, espero que sea de transición y que para el año lo vuelvan a mejorar, porque varios años así, se va a hacer pésimo, falta mucho detalle importante, pero bueno, se agradecen los añadidos, aunque es lo mínimo.
    Me parece asqueroso que no puedas tener tu propio estilo de juego jugando online, hay que hacer la dinámica que funciona, y si no, estás perdido, eso me aborrece, de verdad.
    El juego está demasiado lleno de bugs, pero mucho, fatal fatal hecho, con el añadido de mecánicas rotas por todos lados, lo dicho, lo que funciona es lo que funciona, y si no sabes, o no quieres hacerlo porque tienes otro estilo, estás fuera.
    También, me parece absurdo las cartas en Ultimate Team, no tiene sentido, se lo cargaron muy pronto, jodido de disfrutar si no tienes el juego directamente desde el principio, aburrido, un modo pésimo a mi manera de ver, o estás 24/7 metido en él, o no tienes oportunidad, y eso, no mola.
    No quiero añadir que hasta los trofeos estuvieron bugueados durante un buen tiempo, de verdad, un juego muerto para mí.    … Expand

    Same game as Fifa 20 with little changes. They fix one issue and create two new, developers are finding an easy way to release the game, changing a few attributes and making cosmetic changes. Stop milking us EA and try to focus on what the community is saying. We need a game where attackers are running, goalkeepers can make a save and defenders can make a tackle.     Game for fans who either need to work online at FUT every day, or instead want to try a modified career mode, which is starting to really look like Football Manager. Otherwise, it's a decent update for the full price. [Issue#307]

    The FIFA series desperately needs a fresh start. Right now, it relies mainly on the Ultimate Team mode and marketing, while going around in circles. Instead of leaping into the future, FIFA 21 takes half a step forward and two steps sideways in an attempt to differentiate itself from its predecessor well enough to rationalize spending money. If you already own FIFA 20 and are not addicted to Ultimate Team, you can sit this one out. [12/2020, p.44]
