    This game looks good, but inside it is pure trash. Algorithms used in this game just show that EA have no respect to gamers at all. Its one complete injustice. I've played it alot, so now i can see a full picture - this game manipulates stats of ur team and ur opponents team all the time. Sometimes u have 1-2 minutes then all ur passes are incorrect, even if ur players have 90+ passing,This game looks good, but inside it is pure trash. I've played it alot, so now i can see a full picture - this game manipulates stats of ur team and ur opponents team all the time. Sometimes u have 1-2 minutes then all ur passes are incorrect, even if ur players have 90+ passing, sometimes u cant hit a goal for 5 straight shots even if u fire from 5 meters, u'll hit the bar. At the same time ur opponent team become crazy - they can hit long shot goal from 40m with a player with 60 long shot stat. And its not just random moments, based on composure of a players or usual mistake chance - its a periods of time - not single moments, that proves its not random at all. This game have same bugs years and years. It looks like developers just didnt test it, bcoz i dont know how to explain such a dumb things in career mode, like its impossible to grow balanced young player. Even if u'll have 90 overall youngsters, they'll be total imbalanced. Some their stats will be 99, and many others (like stamina, strenght, composure, aggression etc) will be 40. And this **** repeats every year. That's just a bad game.… Expand

    Literal una basura lleno de fallos le e puesto mas de 300 horas y en lugar de mejorar mi experiencia solo es mas asquerosa en especial cuando solo elijes a un jugador (para el modo carrera de jugador) ya que literal los compañeros no dan ni un paso bueno solo se quedab como inutiles y uno como Delantero tiene que ur a bajar para robar el balón por que los defensas no hacen ni una entrada

    Ive never known a game to be so consistently inconsistent. Half the time it plays ok but when the bad scripting and bad defendind AI kick in is when the game takes even the most calmest of men to a raging lunatic. Your players at tines cant even pass to a player a yard in front of him and instead pass to the heavily marked player. Did the guys at EA even play test the game?     My 2nd and last bought FIFA ever. There's no point of buying this game over and over. The same microtransaction's and broken mechanics, trash community and too much paid content. Had a lot more fun playing FIFA 16 on PS3 for more than 2 years.

    The same game as FIFA 16/17. The constant pulling of money from fans, and a low-quality product. EA simply mocks football fans by saying that it’s a football simulator. In fact, it’s just an arcade game that is only indirectly related to football. After this part I went to KONAMI.

    Since 2004 I buy the new Fifa every year. Fifa 18 was seriously the worst version I have ever played. The gameplay didn't feel right and was totally out of balance as well as the AI. Because of this the game was sometimes literally unplayable.

    Absolutely idiotic scripted game. I was played over then 1000 games in UT mode and still have a problem with unfortunately slowing players moving. Even, if i have better physical form (99) and better raitings (each player over 7-9 level more then each player of computer) in a Squad Battles. It's a script nightmare for all players

    Fifa 18, has the same formula that the others games, but adding some thing, that make better the game but no up to its price ($60).
    For me, an incomplete game. It can be an 7 if his cost be near to $20, a 9 if they take more time to the development of the game.

    2. Misc. Server location is poor unless you live in certain few areas of the world. I can't comrehend how EA can't afford a few more server locations to make the game playable, while FORCING us to play on their servers in certain gamemodes (including a current "professional" gig, where you have to qualify based on WL results on their servers located too far away and too busy to be playable) as opposed to PvP where my connection is often perfect.

    As a seasoned player I'm disappointed with the way the game is developing: gameplay decline + seemingly no effort put in testing and no effort in making simple things comfortable. All the attention and effort is being put in bright lights, posters, and making people slot machine addicts, sorry I mean: big Ultimate Team players. Which in itself WOULDN'T have been an issue for me, if the substance of the game wasn't neglected like it currently is. Or defensive players I'm not controling literally moving out of the way to open up scoring chances for attackers. In other situations you have pretty much no control. It generally ends up feeling like not matter what you do, outcomes are changed depending on what result the game aims for. Started the journey and didn't even stick with it for more than half an hour before getting bored with it. Never played oline so I can't assess that, this is just too horrible a game for me to bother. And of course the usually complaints about just generally bad gameplay, horrendous controls and outdated looking graphics.
    I'm guessing it's all about the hardcore addicts spending massive amounts of money on the online features, never actually looked at those so that part doesn't really into my opinion of this game too much. First EA game i bought in a long while, and the last. The usual quality you can expect from them.

    I used to play FIFA when i was younger, i'm talking the older versions where the online version was not yet available, so i decided to give FIFA 18 a try just for the single player career mode and i can tell you it's awful. Everything about this game is so bad it's unbelievable. The AI of the game is so stupid, you can simulate matches when winning 3-0 at 80 minute in the game and the teamI used to play FIFA when i was younger, i'm talking the older versions where the online version was not yet available, so i decided to give FIFA 18 a try just for the single player career mode and i can tell you it's awful. Everything about this game is so bad it's unbelievable. The AI of the game is so stupid, you can simulate matches when winning 3-0 at 80 minute in the game and the team comes back 4-3 in these 10 minutes, the hell? There's no cutscenes or anything interesting when you sign with teams, you have to ask for a transfer and you don't get offers at end of season like you used to get, which in my opinion is 10 times more interesting instead to ask for transfer and wait for teams to hit you up (most of them are **** teams anyways and you gotta wait days to receive any offers at all). There's so much customization of look, tattoos, things you wear and overall cool stuff in The Journey but they didn't add that to career, why? Most stupid thing of all is how you develop your player, get like 85+ SUM, win 90% of matches, be the top scorer in every league and cup, and your manager will still not pick you for the matches sometimes, this sort of AI is the worst you could come up with. Like you develop a player of your own, train hard to get as much SUM as possible, do your best, you get picked for semis of world cup but not for finals, what the...? This is a complete joke, perfect example of EA going just for the money which is sad they just betray all the people that played FIFA for so long and screw up on so many ends because they have to save as much money as possible. This is the standard: "we have a brand, we have a product, copy+paste last year product, spend 1m$ budget to add some random stuff and we got a new series that's gonna give us 300m$ in sales, good". Complete joke. The commentary is so repetitive as well, it's unbelievable. I swear it's so sad how like big selling titles just be like lets spend 0.5% of our profits from last year and make another **** title and use our long standing reputation/brand to get sales anyways.… Expand

    The new defensive system in this game just ruins the whole FIFA experience for me. EA is focusing too much on realism that they forget to focus on the fun about the game. FIFA 18 is a downgrade from FIFA 17. They're getting worse with each game release. Though the graphics is better than the previous, everything else is a downgrade for me.
    Probably the worst FIFA game to date!

The scripting, the awful defending system, the ridicolous and random nature of player stats, I'm struggling to even begin to describe how awful this game is. Theres only one thing i can thank EA for, and that is ensuring that i no longer part with my hard earned money for sub par development. II've been playing fifa on playstation since '09 and for me Fifa 18 is the worst of the bunch. I've seen some gameplay footage of fifa 19 already and it just looked like a lazy rehash of Fifa 18. I wont be buying anymore EA games for a long while, they are up there with the cancers of the gaming industry like Activision. Fifa in my opinion is all about milking the younger generation into spending money on ultimate team packs and its pathetic how much some people spend sometimes to have any real chance of getting decent players for their team.     Great graphics, but EA sports lost touch with who plays the game. Players want good fun competition.. this is all based on stats. Example... nobody ever wins the championship in a division unless it is the last game...always! If you are 50% on control of the ball at half time you will win.... even if you are worse. I was a faithful FIFA player on PC and consoles since early 2000's, but last game i bought was '16, and that was so frustrating i swore it off for a while.     I only played online, but defending is a mess - AI players just stand around as the ball rolls past them to the opponent, teammate contain is useless due to them marking like 3 yards away and not pressing, keepers are retarded and will let in everything shot from within the box. Still can't switch quick tactics when not during active play.

    Most people in online seasons just pick Real Madrid and cheese with Bale and Ronaldo outrunning every defender.

    Attacking consists of mostly luck it seems, as balls either go your way all game or they don't. That's probably the scripting that a lot of reviews on here mention.

    Overall a big let down. I'll check out what 19 is bringing to the table, but i doubt i'll be buying that one either judging by how little improves each year.    … Expand

    Velocidades de infarto de los jugadores, se recorren el campo en 4 toques de balón si tienes pulsado el R2/RT da igual lo hagas con un jugador o con otro. El centro del campo no es necesario, transición defensa-ataque en dos botonazos. el balón    Siempre he sido de la saga Fifa desde 2008, pero este año me he quedado anonadado cuando he visto lo que han creado y aquí expongo mis motivos

    Velocidades de infarto de los jugadores, se recorren el campo en 4 toques de balón si tienes pulsado el R2/RT da igual lo hagas con un jugador o con otro.
    El centro del campo no es necesario, transición defensa-ataque en dos botonazos.
    el balón tiene imán a las escuadras, tanto a favor como en contra.
    los porteros solo espectadores con guantes.

    como cosas menos importantes
    la iluminación me parece menos natural que años anteriores
    las porterías tienes redes de cartón con movimientos bruscos que no representan nimiamente la realidad

    Me fastidia porque el FUT, es el mejor sistema para entretener un juego de fútbol, MYCLUB esta lejos de ser algo parecido, aunque tiene su encanto.

    respecto a jugar Offline es algo mas tranquilo, pero la fuerza de este juego reside en el online respecto a su competencia, matchmaking mucho mas rapido, mas estabilidad...

    Worst FIFA I've ever played for decades. I was playing FUT Mode since it began. This year it's so obvious, they've made this game "Pay to win". We're not a fool to spend hundreds of dollars to get a decent squad. They're pointing out clearly, pay more than 60 bucks otherwise GTFO of FUT Mode. I'm saying FO to all who developed this money based game. Thanks for ruining a legendary series.

    First,.Its scripted,you dont have full control on the gameplay,the game doesnt allow you to win your deserved match in Ultimate team...i was winning 4-0,then lost 5-4 at the end.My Cr7 hit the crossbar 2 times from 3 meters into empty nets,and the goalkeeper was on the floor...I gave up my hopes and quit from fifa forever,at that moment.

    I know that this review is coming a bit late, but I just want to point out how every fifa game is pretty much the same now.
    Graphics of the game look like they come from fifa 14. The game play feels the same like all other fifa games. It's competitor Pes 2018, has much better graphics and game play (not to mention that it has lower budget than fifa 18). This just proves how greedy EA has become.

    While playing moves are more realistic, and 4k graphics are enjoyable, EA servers are often down, forcing you to re-login with lots of latency.

    Sadly, the game is also geared around in-game purchases to advance more quickly, and as a casual gamer, you won't be able to buy any high key players without either making huge in game purchases, or playing for literally years.

    Career Mode:
    Yet another year    If you are considering buying this game, don't , it's more trouble than it's worth. As a FIFA veteran I really loved to play the game around christmas every year, but this year I completely stopped playing the game because of how boring and unrewarding it is to play. I'll try to cover as much as I possibly can to give you a detailed review of this game.
    Career Mode:
    Yet another year where EA failes to freshen up career mode, both manager and player career. Almost no gameplay changes compared to last year. It has some new cut scenes added, however, they soon get repetitive and boring and annoy you most of the time. AI is atrocious like every year. To give an example: Top teams would sign 3-4 world class players for the same position( Bayern signs Dybala, Lukkaku and Cavani, while also having Lewandowski at ST position). After a couple of different career play thorughs you'll notice the patterns behind top teams' signings even to an extent that some players wind up in one team 99% of the time( Dybala at Bayern).
    Ultimate Team:
    Although they added a lot of gameplay features this year, one being Squad Battles, one can't help but wonder what could've been if they actually polished the mode properly. Ever since FIFA 17, Ultimate Team is completely differen to other modes, gameplay wise. Players feel sluggish, like I'm controlling 300 pound sumo wrestlers, not professional and agile athletes( no offense to sumo guys). Also, there are way too many instances when the game adjusts the gameplay in order to favor one player. Sometimes I can see that my opponent is a lot better than me and he should win, but, with FIFA's help, I manage to scrape a win or a draw, the opposite scenario is also true.
    Ranked matchmaking( Weekend League) requires you to play 40 games on weekends against totally random opponents and your finish is determined by the amount of wins you got. Sometimes you would get e-sport professionals, and sometimes you would get 3 year olds who got into a match by mashing buttons and chewing their controller. You can actually search for examples where e-sport professionals would exploit the system to get easier opponents and finish higher.
    Gameplay:
    The game is automated way too much. Trying to manually defend with your defenders actually punishes you, so everyone is using high stamina midfielders and chasing your players with them, instead of trying to use their centerbacks.
    There's also a lot of input lag, even in offline modes, making the game very unresponsive and it's one of the reasons why the player feel like tanks.
    I really hope I have helped you make up your mind about this game. In my opinion is it not worth a penny, I would match rather buy PES 2018( you can always import real teams, kits and badges, it's very easy, google search it) as the gameplay is just that much better.    … Expand

In EAs case, it is clearly obvious, that FIFA 18 is flawed on many levels - They have made little or no effort whatsoever to improve a cult game despite the resources that they will have at their disposal. The reality of the user reviews compared to critics reviews, rubber stamps the obvious fact that you guys merely re-word the same old reviews without actually exploring the game yourselves and you are obviously too worried about ramifications of negative reviews from EA & Sony. There is little point in detailing the obvious flaws of the game; there are too many to list and we all know what they are. I have enjoyed FIFA for years , some versions more than others but I am shocked at the blatant laziness by EA to re-deploy the same themes & templates in different guises. Its almost as though they have dared to see how little effort they could put in whilst taking their loyal followers money. But the real culprits here are the critics - EA have just mugged us all off but the critics should have done the right thing and appraised the game for what it really is. EA will no doubt e laughing - they can clearly put out any old sh*t and they will still be lauded by the very publications that owes their articles to they readers andante their sponsors. Goes without saying that after literally decades, I will never buy fifa again ( and I do mean that!!) . I hope other follow suit. I have given 1 as the music is quite good..

    So in summary - awful game , def the worst ever. Let down by FIFA but more so by the publications that we rely on to advise us.

WHY in the world would you decide to add more random factors to an already absolute **** nightmare bouncefest of a game. And at the same time, for the ''realistic'' purposes, the ball passes literally through your players, you have to take the ball from your opponent five times before you actually have the possession or you get over the midfield with one pass every time you want.

    Not to even mention the gambling side of the Ultimate team, this game is pure rip off.

    I sincerely hope the community pulls together to cause an uproar like the community around battle front 2 did and maybe we could finally see some things change.    … Expand

The only viable method of play is to collect fast, small, skill move players. The Kane, Ibra and Costa style players are made to feel like Sunday League players. A game that is supposed to be tactical is pointless when there is only one way to play.

    These balance issues are compounded by incredibly aggressive player fatigue, poor AI positioning for defenders, goalkeepers who fumble way too often, overpowered finesse shots and a player selection system that picks the wrong player when defending about 25% of the time. Selection is made even worse through a series of scenarios where swapping player is literally locked out to you to ensure the opponent will not be punished, such as high headed clearances.

    Overall it’s a big enough drop in quality to not recommend the game.    … Expand

    This game is so bad! If you want to play football game better go and buy PES. A lot of bugs in game engine is broken. And handicap is existing, no matter how good you are you can loose because of engine. Every pass is going to your opponent, player with 81 pace is taking your player with 94 pace in 1s. Worst fifa game ever

    By rebuilding the animation system the developers managed to significantly improve footballers’ responsiveness, which results in more fluent gameplay and lets you perform tighter maneuvers. That makes attacking a real joy, but in my opinion turned defense into frustrating chore that requires too much precision. [12/2017, p.42]
