Have to say I'm not impressed at all with this. It's ugly. Textures are horrible especially during the day. Really disappointing as this should look as good if not better than fc4. Feels like it's been rushed out the door. Probably trade it in tomorrow. Can't give it more than five but because they have a AAA budget no excuse for this - so it's a 3 (

Just feel like a re skin of far cry 3 and 4, but without the wide variety of weapons. the most disappointing part of the game is the lack of an interesting villain.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Awful, Awful, Awful. I SWORE I would not buy another Far Cry game but I was desperate. I am soooooo sorry. As is typical of Ubisoft's warped thinking, the final boss fight negates everything you worked hard to get like formulas to make yourself fireproof and short range powerful weapons. Asinine and so damned irritating. The game SUCKS!!! NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Expand

The first thing you'll notice are the pretty visuals. It's not groundbreaking, but it's definitely easy on the eyes. The day and night cycles are well done and both offer their own unique visual flair. The gameplay is unchanged for the most part this time around, but that isn;t necessarily a bad thing. The series has found its formula and it works just fine. The problem with that is, aside from unique settings, things tend to get stale at times. The game consists of many tasks such as helping the Wenja from enemies (tribespeople), exploring caves, hunting, capturing outposts and claiming campfires. You will also be able to tame wild beasts such as wolves and wildcats...and even sabertooth tigers. By doing so, the respective animal will stay by your side as a companion to give you an extra level of assurance when exploring or going into battle. One of the most fun things to do is seek out and rescue certain characters, who in turn will help you do things such as craft new items or learn new abilities. You'll have a camp where you are able to aid them in build and upgrade their tents so they can return the favor. It's a cool idea that is very rewarding. The upgrade system is typical Far Cry and it's quite well done. Learning new abilities and upgrading weapons is enjoyable.

Overall, Far Cry Primal is a very fun game that can be addicting at times. But other times, it can become somewhat of a bore because of the tedious missions. The story doesn't really pull you in either because you could care less about the characters. In the end, this game is all about exploring the vast land full of surprises.

I paid $10 for this game and that was $10 too much. The graphics can be alright at times, however the game is so boring. Crappy melee combat, dull and repetitive missions that are just fetch quests, a story that goes nowhere, etc.

    Cons:
Graphics are mediocre relative to previous releases
AI is even worse than before (which is quite a trick)
Melee combat is just as bad as before, and with ranged nerfed, this forces you to use the OP animals
Lackluster story that you will consider a side-mission in terms of quality, and not care about
Characters that are utterly forgettable and add very little to the game, barring one easter egg
Massive profit margin on such a short experience

Conclusion: Wait for this to drop to 50%+ off before considering this. At that price-point this is good enough, but still utterly disposable. It will be a play-once and never again.

Far Cry Primal is a first person action adventure survival game set in the Stone Age.
You play as Takkar, just a regular hunter, who’s then tasked by a woman he runs into to go rescue some of her people and instantly become the leader of a new tribe…
There’s very little emphasis on narrative here, just a quick introduction and then you’re free to do whatever you want… but there is incentive to follow through with helping your tribe mates…
This for the most part is a recourse gathering game…
By gathering resources you can craft better weapons, build huts to upgrade your village and unlock skills.. And of course craft food items to help you survive…
That’s basically it... explore the world... hunt animals for their skins…
You can even eventually tame them to help you in combat…
There are of course human enemies to deal with.. not just aggressive animals…
Outside of the 14 hour campaign you can liberate areas to unlock fast travel points, and you can do side quests for characters you meet in the woods…
Your tamed animals help you with a simple call.. they’ll even stealth with you if you go into stealth mode …
Your weapon option is about as varied as you’d expect for the stone age, you get a club, sling, spear, bow and arrows, traps, and bombs.. all of which you have to craft as you use them…
None of your tools are indestructible, thankfully wood is vast and as you upgrade your crafting skills, you get more recourses, and get more out of those recourses.. so slowly less annoying…
What doesn’t get less annoying though is enemies…
A great immersion breaker is that enemies are harder or easier to kill depending on the section of the map you’re in for no apparent reason…
This isn’t a JRPG.. This is an open world game... I don’t want enemies to scale with me... I want to feel powerful after sinking all of my skill points and crafted materials into stronger weapons…
What does make me feel powerful though is hopping on the back of a majestic mammoth and slinging enemies into the air…
You can ride any large creature you tame once you progress far enough into the story…
There’s such a great balance here of gameplay incentive…
There’s reason to play through the story to unlock new abilities, and there’s reason to ignore the story for a little while to get better weapons, and new skills…
You can’t do it all sticking to one side of the game, and I love that…
And hunting for rare animals and reaching for rare materials is just as fun as attacking a settlement on the back of a caber toothed tiger and taking it for my own…
There are also these cool witcher contract type missions deep in the game where you get to go on a hunt for a legendary animal that’s been terrorizing the land… Looking for clues, setting up traps, and then weakening them down to finally be able to claim them for yourself to call to fight by your side at any time…
A lot of the main missions for the most part have to do with searching for clues and following paths with your hunter vision, which works like eagle vision from assassins creed, or a witcher sense in the witcher the 3…
It highlights animals, plants.. and points of interest…
Its highly annoying that this vision has a timer though…
I don’t know why ubisoft ruined this awesome tool from Assassins Creed… they ruined it in Unity too…
It’s not fun having to constantly click r3 and wait for a cool down every few seconds when I’m trying to follow a path…
    Stop doing this ubisoft..
Thankfully you can call your cool little owl friend to fly around the sky to get a larger view of the path since this function is so unnecessarily annoying…
This is a very ubisoft game… If you don’t like the idea of map cleaning in your games... this isn’t the one for you…
Map cleaning is pretty hit and miss for me, but thankfully I enjoyed it here…
This world is ridiculous... it feels alive… you can ride mammoths…
    what more do you want?
    I give Far Cry Primal
    an 8.0/10

I never played Blood Dragon, but I did platinum Far Cry 4 and somewhere between 3 and 4 something was lost. With Far Cry Primal I was hoping that magic would return. It did not.

I managed to platinum this game in about 20 hours or so. Maybe a little more, but not much. With that being said I have done everything the game has to offer. At a $60 price tag this game deserves a score of six (6). If it was a $20 game I would give it a eight (8)

The map is recycled from Far Cry 4. At least the layout is the same. The setting while lush and beautiful is not enough to carry the game.

Spears and bows are novel enough as well as a club, but it felt more like a knockoff Skyrim at times.

The animal companions while cool at first totally ruin the game. Either they ruin a stealth run or if you do not need the XP they just eat everything and leave you little to fight. I unlocked the sabretooth tiger in about two or three hours. After that the game was boring. Also the owl is more like a pterodactyl in terms of power. Spamming the owl attack also ruined stealth missions.

The characters were boring. I wanted to like them to get attached to them. To get into the story, but it just wasn't there. The voice acting/language was sort of authentic and cool, but without likeable characters it did nothing. Each character had 2 or 3 quests and that was it. More formulaic than story driven.

The leveling mechanic worked well, but that will only get you halfway through the skill tree. The rest of the skill points are earned doing village missions. They were boring and grindy. It would have been faster to just dump two trees than have each character unlock a skill tree for Takkar. Some of the trees are downright useless.

On the plus side, the game was not a grindy as Far Cry 4 with respect to crafting and finding materials.

I’ve played through all of the titles in the Far Cry series, since its inception with Jack Carver back in 2004. I recall playing through the original Far Cry with an AGP video card on my PC, that’s how old the series is!

Far Cry Primal really does something unique that open-world games don’t do. Ubisoft made the decision to set this game in the stone age, something that is really unprecedented. I don’t see many games taking place in that kind of setting.

Most games try not to make major risks. Notice how with the Assassin’s Creed series, only spinoffs and mobile games get unique settings, such as China and India? They can’t risk spending millions of dollars on a mainline AAA title only to have people disinterested. They’re testing the waters.

I’ve been in marketing myself in other industries, and what Ubisoft’s and other big marketing managers is probably thinking is that it’ll adversely affect their international sales. Any kind of risk that would international sales would likely be viewed as negative. Although the game is set in the stone age, it really just looks like jungle and more jungle. Really, the game just looks like a jungle from today’s world, not necessarily like how the world was actually like thousands of years ago.

There are a few mountains, but they’re not particularly exceptional. As well, most of the caves present in the game feel repetitive due to feeling like procedurally-generated content. I mean, it literally looks like a higher quality jungle recycled from one of the previous Far Cry’s. It reminded me a lot of Far Cry 2’s jungles, with improved graphics.

In this game, the characters speak an ancient, possibly fictitious language. I’m not sure why they did it. According to the developers, they researched words that may have been used back then to create this language, but it ends up being really hit or miss. You should check out some of the introductory cutscenes on YouTube to see if you’d like that or not. It ends up affecting all of the cutscenes and storyline. I won’t lie though, some of the cutscenes actually do feel creepy, which is good, since cavemen and cavewoman are supposed to feel threatening. But, you don’t get too many cutscenes in this game, possibly only a half hour to an hour of cutscenes are present in total.

Speaking of the storyline, the game is very short and the storyline isn’t really existent. This game almost seems like a bigger version of Far Cry: Blood Dragon, a spinoff from the main series. I feel that the developers really had the potential to create a better story with a longer campaign. The sidequests are very fetch-like and are not fun to do at all, though one can easily achieve a platinum trophy within 30-40 hours of game-time. The gameplay is fun, but the storyline makes it somewhat dull to trek through. The animals are also fun to hunt in the game, but again, animals have been present in the series since Far Cry 3 and no significant changes have really been made for the hunting system. It really does feel like performing the same thing again. This is really more of an expansion.

This game is almost exclusively melee combat, so if you weren’t particularly fond of melee combat in previous Far Cry games, you may want to avoid this title.

The game itself is strange to complete. The main missions aren’t really that obvious and, on occasion, actually feel like fetch quests themselves. It wasn’t until the end credits started rolling that I said, “Whoops. Finished the last mission.”

I really respect the risk the developers took with making the game take place in the stone age. But, I still feel that this game was a cash grab. As previously mentioned, pretty much all of the elements found within this title has been recycled from previous titles in the series. Consequently, if you’ve played those as well, it just feels like what you’ve played a few years ago. Not particularly fun, unfortunately. If you want to purchase this game, wait for the price to keep going down because it’s not worth it at the full price.

I wasn't expecting another Far Cry game so soon. I'm glad Ubisoft decided to do something really different and original with this game, they did a pretty good job at it. I'm glad Ubisoft decided to do something really different and original with this game, they did a pretty good job at it. The story was decent, not anything special by any means but you will pay attention to it and understand what is going on. The actual story missions though, were really cool! There was a lot of variety between missions. The world is great, I really liked that aspect of this game. Also, my favorite thing about this game by far, is the HUNTING. It is amazing! There is a mission where you hunt a tall elk in the story and I was having a fantastic time all throughout that mission. And there are also these 4 missions you get, where you hunt 4 great beasts, and those are some of the best missions in the game. And I don't say that implying that the other missions are bad, I say that implying that those missions are absolutely incredible. Now, so far I've just been saying positives, so the 7/10 doesn't make much sense yet. So I will now talk about my problems with the game. The combat is fun, but there just isn't enough to it. There's no 'block' button or anything. It is literally just hit, and it gets extremely repetitive. I don't understand how there's at least no parry button, at the very least. I still would expect more than just a parry and hit button but it's absolutely absurd that there isn't a parry button. Now, the taming system, how you can tame beasts, is SUPER cool! Although, it is WAY too easy. You literally drop a piece of bait, and hold square. There needs to be some sort of button sequence or something that is actually difficult, and that actually gets harder depending on the level of beast you're taming. It's just so weird to me that no one at Ubisoft really thought about something like that. So, the 2 most important components to this Far Cry game in its own right, are very flawed. That's why I gave it a 7/10. The plot is mediocre, though I didn't expect anything too crazy, and the combat and taming system are lackluster at best. Expand

A game of this scale needs more development time than the one year Ubisoft gave it...I hope this franchise doesn't devolve into another Call of Duty or Assasin's Creed.

Also, it annoys me that they downgraded the graphics to a degree to make a smaller file size (only 12 GB??). While lighting is improved, textures are definitely duller and easily explains the huge drop in file size over Far Cry 4. WTF Ubi?

Primal there is no escape just primitive man and beast with civilization 12,000 years away in the far distant future. The setting, story, characters, gameplay all create an immersive setting. On the whole, the process of survival in the open world seemed amusing. The developers maximally realized the potential of a poor set of primitive weapons, so it is interesting to play with it. Taming animals was a good idea. It’s bad that the plot is linear, which clearly does not correspond to the concept of an open world. Why not make a few branches like Fallout 4?

The idea of an African sounding language being spoken with subtitles to tell the story is great.
One concern I had with Primal, was the lack of vehicles and weapons, making things more boring, but you can ride the animals fairly early if you level up the relevant skill trees, and the bow covers the range weapons well.
Plus if you progress through the beast master missions quickly you can control all sorts of animals including an owl which makes outpost battles far more interesting, it becomes most of a rts than fps so adds a lof of variety.

I like the Far Cry DLC / extra games, Far Cry Blood Dragon was an incredible experience, and primal is equally fascinating and well made.
My biggest issue with Far Cry Primal, is that they decided to turn this into a fully massive game. I spent over 35 hours with Far Cry Primal, which is far more than i did with Blood Dragon.
There are tons to explore, and hundreds of side quests and areas to explore.
On one hand, it's great to have to much to do, on the other, it got very repetitive and dull after the 15 hour mark.
The story is incredibly shallow and really doesn't justify a full game. The story is incredibly simplistic and the dialog very basic. WHich makes sense for the setting, but doesn't make sense on why the game was drawn out so long.
The side quests are very very repetitive, you do the same 5 mission types hundreds of times over.

This would have been an incredible DLC for Far Cry 4. I can't see why Ubisoft wuld've decided to turn this into a full game and not flesh out a real plot, other than for doubling the cost of the game.
There's really no reward for doing all the side quests either. If you skip the side quests and just focus on the story and the village you basically do everything anyway.
I did all the side quests and found all the object but at my dismay realised you dont get anything for doing so.

They launch 2 Far Cry games in 14 months, 3 Assassins Creed in 2/3 years (not counting spinoffs), Watch Dogs, The Crew, The Division, ... All by sharing too much things (even the HUD lacks imagination!!). Primal is a good game, but it could be a great game, a really masterpiece if developers had time to innovate. Despite its brilliant presentation and beginning, it goes lacking the addiction and starts to being repetitive. The problem here is Ubisoft losted the imagination. And we must stop to asking them to innovate and let the series rest 3/4 years. Perhaps they are right, once they are selling well...

I do. I mean, I love the Far Cry games. I love running around huge open worlds, finding lots of little secrets hidden everywhere and collecting loads of stuff and resources. If you like that, well then you'll like this game.
This may sound stupid, but in the beginning I actually missed not having guns. I know stupid seeing how the game is set 10.000 B.C. That soon subsided after getting a few weapon upgrades. It is really quite awesome running through the jungle "sniping" animals and enemies with your bow. Great fun.
I also really loved the whole open world. As always in Far Cry games it is huge, varied and just fun to explore.
The missions are your usual Far Cry kind of ones, what isn't a bad thing. You start out doing errands for people and later become the big chief. Ha ha.

I really enjoyed the game and it took me about 24 hours to get the platinum trophy. I wasn't really aiming for the trophy most of the time, just doing missions (there are lots), capturing bonfires/outposts, hunting animals (the hunter sense is a cool new feature), etc.

    Try it and have fun.

There was only one playable character but you did have support animals. I really liked using the Sabre-tooth tiger, it was powerful, fast and it would scare other animals away. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Far Cry Primal is a passion project that needs to be respected, but not for the moral reasons of supporting unique ideas. Primal offers a gaming experience unlike so many others: putting you in a world that doesn’t have ANY of the technology, settings, or even languages that we experience in every other game. On top of that, though, is the most important reason… it’s great. What at first seemed like a silly DLC addition to Far Cry 4, Primal creates its own identity as far as hunting and gathering, crafting, and community go. It supports exploration and even demands it at times, completely placing the player in the shoes of a prehistoric caveman building a safe haven for other people that he comes across. The community is perhaps the most important aspect of this game as your tribe not only guides you through the many storylines but offers to help you build weapons to fight enemies, craft clothes to keep warm, and create antidotes to help survive. Truly, one of the most communal single-player games in recent memory.

Crafting is a mechanic that cannot be ignored as it is impossible for you to buy, trade, or barter in any way. Every arrow you shoot, spear you throw, club you swing, and all throwables are crafted by the player from materials gathered in the world. What seems like a chore becomes second-nature and a fun hobby while exploring. Cutting down trees for wood, breaking rocks for stone, picking flowers for medicine, and skinning animals for furs, fats, and hides are things I started to do without even thinking about it. What makes it more enjoyable, though, is that walking around this world was a breath of fresh air. Not a single unnatural noise, light source, or anything to obstruct the gorgeous view of the landscape. With sweeping fields, enormous mountains, dense forests, a breathtaking sky full of stars and Milky Way constellations, and animals that populate it all, this is a world that felt deep and lived-in.

The story is also a huge improvement on Far Cry 4, which not only lacked any sort of character arc/development, but ended with such a swift anticlimactic conclusion that left me wanted more and feeling let down. Primal has no sort of delusions of grandeur that it cannot support: it’s an intimate tale of a caveman seeking revenge on a sabertooth, and then realizing his duty in the world. In other words: he embarks on a Hero’s Journey, of sorts, as he learns about those around him and how to save his tribe. Reminiscent of Far Cry 3‘s protagonist, though not as strong, this caveman was fun to play as and it actually made sense how he learned to be able to handle weapons, hunt, and fight people. And fighting people was necessary as if you didn’t hunt them, they’d hunt you and your tribe. Really, this is what Far Cry 4 should have been instead of trying to be like Far Cry 3 Part II.

It’s not all perfect, though. The side missions, Tensay quests, and grappling mechanics became quite troublesome and even problematic at times. The side missions came in a wide assortment such as Beast Kill, Search & Rescue, Save Captive, Escort Wenja, and Tribal Clash but there were dozens of these scattered around the map and the rotation of five objectives became quite annoying. This is especially true to do the friendly AI being quite stupid. Tensay quests made this even more apparent as there were a few missions that would put you in the head of a mammoth as you guide your group to safety. The mammoths handled horribly and the friendly AI, again, was extremely irritating. All of the Tensay quests reminded me of the FC3 and FC4 “trip missions” but aside from the first one, were just annoying and repetitive.

Tensay’s missions brought back my least favorite missions of FC4 but there were quite a few references to previous games that I enjoyed very much. One of which was a nod to Blood Dragon, a direct reference that showcased the skeletal remains of the titular creature while cueing the Blood Dragon theme. No, not historically accurate but my god was it a great little addition.

Far Cry Primal is one of my favorite games in this franchise, thus far. Beating out even FC4, Primal goes to show that different can be good but it’s main flaw is that it’s not quite different enough: from itself or the others. Offering repetitive side quests and bringing back the exhausting trip-missions from the previous games, Primal weighs itself down by trying so hard to still be a Far Cry game. However, it does do enough to make a name for itself and solidify

Far Cry Primal is basically a reskin of every other Far Cry game. Nothing special but also nothing new added. I could never be bothered to finish the game as I found it a lot more tedious and boring. Gun play is what made Far Cry great but now its a melee focused game with no block feature. I would say don't waste your money.

The prehistorical setting of this Far Cry game is pretty unique and taming beasts is really fun! It can get a bit repetitive after a while, but if you do like me and play the game for about an hour a day, it will stay fresh and fun.

The most frustrating aspect of this game is probably the fact that it's too Far Cry and not enough Primal. What I mean there is that they squandered the premise slightly by littering the map with 100s of the usual collectathons and fetch quests, having campfires instead of radio towers. Essentially a lot of it comes down to a palette swap rather than a fresh concept.

One annoying game mechanic is the hunter vision, which keeps turning itself off after a period of time. You can simply switch it back on, but having to do so get irritating.

Another frustrating aspect is having to gather resources in order to progress further in some missions. This can be quite tedious since the resources are chance-based, removing any real challenge or skill.

Overall, if you like Far Cry you should like this, however the lack of vehicles removes a lot of the fun of traversal. It's a game with an excellent premise but not a great execution.

It was different to the usual games of course you're not going to get guns and cars and planes in 10.000BC, and if you did it would ruin the atmosphere (no pun intended) of the game. But overall I enjoyed the game, getting 100% trophies the first game ever to get 100% on but they were very easy to get, the gameplay was good I thought the story line was great even though I felt it was short, I loved the cinematics, and the effort put into making a believable Caveman like language, I was impressed with the realism of that. I enjoyed the conflict with the Neanderthals, not an enemy you come across in most games haha, overall I enjoyed it, it was breathtaking amazing, but I really did enjoy it, it's not a game I would ever play again, since getting everything for it and nothing would change the second time around, but as a one off game, meaning a game I wouldn't ever come back to, I did enjoy it and it's worth getting. I played this on the PS5 so that could be why it froze 11 times during my playthrough (Mostly when using a waypoint).
Grapple hook chain doesn't work in some areas. Like on the mountain northeast of the village. There is also an issue where the character won't grab ledges with vines after repeated attempts. This is only in certain areas like at the daysha hand ledge near Pardaku Lookout.

Sometimes R2 doesn't make the character draw back on his bow (This was a constant issue for me and my girlfriend in this game and I'm glad to see this was fixed in the subsequent games).
It also kept constantly changing from the club to the two-handed club without my permission. This was extremely annoying.

Aside from those issues, I had a ton of fun playing this game. It's probably my favorite installment (I platinumed 3, 4, 5, and New Dawn). The passion they put into this game - as well as the lack of microtransactions and ads like the new games have - was wildly appreciated and made the experience that much better. While I wish the language was in english since I hate subtitles, I do respect they went out of their way to make a language for the game. The characters were all very interesting and unique. The environment and mechanics for the time it was released are fantastic.
If this had at least co-op to enjoy the story with someone else it would have been even better.

Materials gathered and animals skinned do not trigger autosave, so you have to collect all over again. However, the characters are written interestingly and capture this "unga-bunga" age of humanity perfectly.

The gameplay is average, the combat system, especially the archery, is a classic and nothing could go wrong. The melee combat, on the other hand, is often funny in how bad it actually is. At least it makes you laugh.

I appreciate the village upgrade system. However, for those brave enough to complete this game for the "platinum trophy" I recommend arming yourself with patience while unlocking all the abilities in the ability tree. You will have to do almost all the side quests in the game to achieve this.

In conclusion, I rate the game with a number that is just below the green line, 7/10.

It wears off quickly. It's a typical, paint-by-numbers Far Cry game but with less effort put into it because the game's time period and setting can be used as an excuse to defend the overall lack of effort and ingenuity.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game was a surprise hit for me. I went into it not expecting much since I heard plenty of negative stuff about it from members of the Far Cry community. But I was pleasantly surprised by everything about it from the world, the gameplay, the characters and the story. It was quite a ride, from start to finish and I loved every moment of it. It's one of the few games I strove to get the Platinum trophy on.

I think a lot of people throw hate on this game because they're just lovers of cars and guns. Which, lets face it, those aren't going to be in a game where you play as a cave man. To be honest, there's a lot of effort in this game, from just the details in the world, to the easter eggs you get to past Far Cry games and others to one of the things that impressed me the most, the language that seemingly was made up for the games prehistoric characters.

After playing this game so much, I attempted it on permadeath mode for the fun of it, but wound up rage quitting several times in a row over the course of multiple days, so if you're someone who's pulled off permadeath mode in Far Cry Primal, I tip my hat to you.

The gameplay switches out guns and cars for bows, spears and animals. Yes, you read that right, you get to ride animals. There's a lot of fun in the animal companion system as well. You can tame wild animals and have them fight along side you in combat. And each animal has different uses, so for example, a panther will be more stealthy than a tiger, making them better for stealth quests, but tigers do better in battle. You also have legendary animals to hunt, which you can tame and are just beefed up versions of the other animals, but they look awesome as well. Still, my personal favourite is the honey badger. Nothing pleases me more than sending one of those things at an enemy cave man and seeing it claw him to death.

The games boss battles aren't anything special, but they're still fun with some amazing soundtracks to go along with them. And the game does an amazing job of actually making you feel you're in a prehistoric world, and playing as the cave man Takkar, you feel like quite the power house as Takkar is strong to start with and only gets more powerful as the game progresses and you unlock more equipment and abilities. It also helps he's voiced by Elias Toufexis, the man who provided the voice for Adam Jensen from the Deus Ex games.

Overall, there was so very much to truly enjoy in this game. Plenty of gorgeous places in the game to visit, with snowy mountain tops, flowing rivers, grasslands and even some drylands that all boast different challenges, be it survivng in the cold or the different animals that call it home. And it's in the environment the games graphics really do shine, I can tell you.

Some of the best moments will come from the side characters who will be equally amusing as well as interesting. They don't ever seem to bore you and they don't get wasted with pointless moments. Every moment with all of them is a moment worth experiencing. And every single of them will play with emotions on some level, be it from the resident witch doctor to a member of your tribe who isn't someone who was meant to be there.
Takkar's journey from start to finish is one that is worth experiencing and one I can say is a surprisingly good one. The door is left open for a sequel at the end as well, which I do hope one day this is a franchise visited again by Ubisoft, but unfortunately, due to the mass amount of backlash that this game got, I don't think they'll dare to venture into it again since it seems the majority of the fan base want the same old guns and cars.

I've enjoyed over Far Cry games before, but this one just had something about it that was a nice change of pace. It was just more enjoyable to charge into a crowd of cannibals riding the back of a sabertooth tiger, have him kill the one you pounced on, then you disembark and take down the others with spears, bows and even slings that hurl rocks at your enemies. If you hit them in the head, it's a very satisfying kill, making you feel like quite the David vs Goliath.

Far Cry Primal is far from perfect, but it's a very worthwhile experience and a game definitely worth grabbing with its now low price.

If you're willing to try something new from a franchise that has done the same old thing repeatedly, this is something that's worth looking into.

    An 8/10 game.
