Yet again Codemasters proves that knows very well how to deliver a superb racing game, a game that hits all the rights spots and offers great gameplay with superb sense of speed, many interesting modes to keep us occupied for a long time and all the goodies the F1 Championship is known for.

F1 2018 doesn’t skimp on technically deep and rigorous racing, but its approach to appease both hardcore F1 fans and curious racing fans alike make it a title that has a much broader appeal than just the sport itself. It’s a gorgeous package with smartly designed content to keep you entertaining on and off the track, and just a darn fine racing experience around every corner.

It took four Formula One games on the current console generation, but with F1 2018, Codemasters finally succeeds in most areas. Most of the bugs are gone, the tracks look better than ever, the career mode is deeper, and the physics are improved. The only thing we miss is more variety outside of the excellent career mode.

F1 2018 is brilliant, and the most complete Formula One game to date. The changes to career mode make it the strongest and most appealing it’s ever been thanks to the revamped upgrade system, while the simulation-like additions to the driving model bring you closer than ever to the feeling of sitting on the grid with 1000+ horsepower at your feet, without overwhelming those who just want to jump in and drive.

This game has taught me a little more about patience in this type of sim game and has allowed me to open my mind to the possibilities of new gaming opportunities.

Continually evolving with each new iteration, F1 2018 is still the definitive F1 racing game. Just don’t expect any new game-changing mechanics or additions.

It brings you a truly experience, very close to the reality, It doesn't affect thought to the feeling that you are actually playing a videogame, It's a funny experience. It's great to see the improvements in the career mode and the things they are putting on to improve the on-line multiplayer mode. There are details still left to enhance, like the after sessions, qualification and races interviews, they can turn into something repetitive, or they way classic cars are introduced into the game. Despite all of these, Codemasters has done a great work, for example, with the IA, the visual aspect it's great too and with introductions of different elements that have created the career mode something more fresh and original.

Codemaster’s F1 2018 is a great racing game. If you love the sport and aren’t afraid of the simulation genre, this is a definite must-have. With all-new features in career, more realistic car behaviour and graphics, improved AI and lots more, this is not just a lazy sequel but so much more.

Compared to last year, this is “just” an evolution, but captures motorsport perfectly once more and gives you one of the best careers in racing games.

Codemasters expanded last year on the 2016 base game and they're doing the same thing for the 2018 iteration. F1 2018 is the best Formula 1 game to date since there is more depth than ever, more classic cars to use and many more features. If you're a fan of the sport, you're in for a good time yet at the same time the penalty system still is as inconsistent as it ever was and the AI can pull some weird stunts from time to time.

F1 2018 takes the series a step further, with many small and big enhancements and tweaks to polish its gameplay, as well as new options and modes. It is exactly what we expected, and it's one of the best entries in the series.

F1 2017 was great and we didn’t expect much more with F1 2018. And we were wrong. Driving is more demanding, Career mode gets richier and visuals are finally on the same page. This is greatness.

Career is actually more complex, although some elements still appear to be deficient and in need of attention, starting from the outline interviews.

Unlike the 2017 edition, F1 2018 failed to surprise me with the scope and depth of changes it introduces to the series. Basically it is the 2017 edition, but a bit fresher, a tad more modern and somewhat more realistic, which makes it a very good game. [11/2018, p.78]

It’s not often that a game opens you up to a whole new sport, but if you give F1 2018 some time, it will do that. F1 2018 remains a competitive racer. The improvements to career mode might not hit all the marks but they do make for a more involved experience. Presentation has been improved with the visuals and audio doing a great job of creating atmosphere whilst the handling appears to have been tightened up to provide a more enjoyable time behind the wheel.

The new iteration offers Formula One fans a near perfect simulation of the sport, complete down to the last technical detail, but the assist settings and satisfying racing make it a viable racing option for even those with cursory F1 knowledge.

F1 2018 brings the complete Formula One experience to your cockpit. Featuring the new rule changes, a new handling model and a deeper Career Mode, racers are in for a different experience over F1 2017. The biggest gripe is with the A.I., which would most likely see some improvements as there is a patch due at launch. Cars shine beautifully and player models are the most realistic the series has seen. Having the F1 television graphics help complete the overall Formula One experience. Codemasters has established its own branch of racing simulation with F1 2018.

F1 2018 takes the existing blueprint and adds many small elements to create one reasonably sized step forward. There are enough differences here to warrant a purchase over last year’s edition. F1 2018 is easily the best Formula 1 game yet, but next time, small changes may not be enough.

F1 2018 is still a game that shines on the track, then. Forget speaking to journalists in the confines of a press paddock – this is a sport about being at the cutting edge of technology, inches from a solid metal barrier, in the sunny streets of a tax haven. And god bless it.

With challenging racing and a diverse car management system, F1 2018 is filled with endless opportunity. Although undeniably similar to last season’s effort, small changes have improved the overall experience enough to merit a revisit. And, ultimately, F1 2018 takes the chequered flag as the best F1 instalment to date.

Has F1 2018 done enough to render last year’s (excellent) title redundant? Probably not. But if it has been a few years since your last F1, absolutely give this one a go. The racing market is a crowded one, but F1 is pure racing, and the sport doesn’t get much more exciting, or strategic, than this one.

F1 2018 will likely test the patience of the sim-racing side of its audience, who have increasingly high standards. Ultimately, whilst being drip-fed improvements in incremental fashion, it seems unlikely that Codemaster's F1 franchise will make any grand leaps towards meeting the lofty standards set by dedicated racing simulators.
