  • Summary: An evil corporation destroyed his forest, now it’s his turn to take out the trash. Epic Dumpster Bear is an action packed platformer inspired by the 16-bit classics where you play as a dumpster bear with a chip on his shoulder.

If Epic Dumpster Bear: Dumpster Fire Redux could match its humour with more competent presentation and gameplay then it would be fantastic. However, this is not the case and while the game is definitely played for laughs, these soon run out when mundanity sets in.

The story is captivating with emotional highs that can only be matched by the best films of all time (minions). The gameplay is like good Mario with parts of shovel knight. When I first booted up the game I didn’t think it would run due to the impressive graphics, but, surprisingly my PS4 didn’t have a stroke trying to run this game. Honestly, Last of Us 2 looks like wet dog **** compared to Epic dumpster bear. The plethora of enemies may make some beta gamers scared, but epic dumpster bear gives you all the tools you need to build a shed and maybe play the game. And to add on to this mountain of joy and splendour, the marketing was sublime. The trailer both intrigued me and magnetically pulled my wallet out of my pants and purchased it for me. This may be the best game ever, no wait, it is the best game ever. If you can find one better then send me a pigeon with your name and postal address on it. For all the 38 years I’ve worked at IGN I have never seen or reviewed such a good game. My pants were white and my face was wet by the time I finished the game. Epic dumpster bear pulls you through a guy-wrenching story, mixed with gameplay that makes you feel like a dumpster bear. All of this wrapped up in a 5 dollar price? This is the deal of the century, PLUS the game of the century Expand

    Epic Dumpster Bear
    Belongs in The Trash
Epic Dumpster Bear is a 2d side scrolling platformer where you play as a bear that sets out to take revenge on the corporations ruining the forest of the world...
Here you collect coins which lets you respawn with an extra heart and unlock bonus levels and along your way to the bullseye at the end of each level you dodge obstacles and enemies through a variety of worlds..
At first this was a fun dumb lazy feeling Mario rip off, I was laughing at how ridiculous this game was... I was double jumping by farting... I’d be throwing bombs to break rocks and kill enemies…
exploring the levels for warps to secret levels... actively trying to find the red coins for the bonus salmon
there are dumpster checkpoints in each level so if you die you don’t restart from the beginning..
    I was having fun...
but it didn’t even take til the end of this games first world for the fun and laughing to stop…
Getting through this game was painful... it hurt my heart and soul playing through this lazily designed game…
on the plus side I enjoyed the bosses at the end of each world and it’s a challenging game.. There’s timing involved in the platforming and the game gets harder the further you go...
but the design of this game is some of the laziest garbage I’ve ever seen…
it looks and feels like a flash game..
There’s one level in particular where you’re platforming upwards while fire chases you and then when you get to the top you have to go right to finish the level... but the screen is basically frozen trying to catch up with the player forcing you to take damage, needing luck to get past these final 2 obstacles after everything you just suffered through..
And this moment basically summarizes the game...
a mix of luck and timing...
it’s one of those games that has the potential to be your favorite bad game... but for me... it just hurt...
there’s nothing clever here... it’s a set of a bunch of bad Mario maker levels.
    I give Epic Dumpster Bear
    a 2.5/10
