    Embers of Mirrim is a solid puzzle platformer. The parts that involve individual thumbstick coordination can be tricky and frustrating at times, but the platforming and twin-stick puzzles provide just the right amount of challenge. It's also forgiving enough for all skill levels, so everyone can enjoy it without getting too hung up on certain parts. Platforming fans, Embers of Mirrim deserves your attention.

    Embers of Mirrim is a nice surprise that seemingly came out of nowhere. It doesn’t feel like a “me-too” platformer, establishing a unique identity with its crazy dual-movement sequences and zen-like platforming. It just needs to hold your hand less when introducing new things, which sadly affects the experience from start to finish.

    On the surface, it appears that Embers of Mirrim is a simple side scroller but continue playing and the running and jumping is separated byOn the surface, it appears that Embers of Mirrim is a simple side scroller but continue playing and the running and jumping is separated by puzzles that challenge even the most dexterous gamers. In the game you play as a fantastic creature looking to rescue your brethren and, at times, need to rely on your light and dark embers to travel through different parts of the world in order to save them. However, the creators of Mirrim ratcheted up the challenge when you are forced to work through the puzzles by controlling both embers at the same time, in different directions, with the analog sticks. Any gamer up to the challenge of Mirrim will feel their frustration turn to delight as they solve puzzles that test their skill, control and, surprisingly, their peripheral vision too.… Full Review »
