Eden Tomorrow could have been a VR hit thanks to a beautiful design and a scenario quite worthy, but unfortunately its extremely repetitive gameplay affect negatively the whole adventure and cause some weariness that might make you drop the game.

While the story in Eden Tomorrow is intriguing, there are simply too many frustrating mechanics to look past. The quality of the narrative is overwhelmed by repetitive puzzles, and a strange combination of completely linear gameplay and an occasional lack of direction. This is a game that would have been much better had the developers given up on the puzzles, and simply told a story.

If you have ever wanted to discover an alien planet and get to practice your survival skill, with Eden Tomorrow you need only the game and a Playstation VR. There are, however, between them too many dialogues with your robot partner and weak narrative.

Although the world of Eden Tomorrow is intriguing, the playful limits that compromise its enjoyment are difficult to overshadow.

Eden Tomorrow tries to walk the same path as Robinson: The Journey, but ends up being an even worse game.

There are some very interesting ideas in Eden Tomorrow and the world Soul Pix created is charming and sometimes quite beautiful, but after the first two hours it all gets extremely repetitive, bland and quite boring, leaving the player with the sense that this was, sadly, a missed opportunity.

Despite its good intentions Eden Tomorrow rarely breaks free of its many issues. An intensely disagreeable sidekick, dull pacing and by-the-numbers plotting will put you on autopilot for 90% of the game. There are moments of magic here but, for the most part, Eden Tomorrow is simply a slog.

Eden-Tomorrow’s noteworthy narrative drowns amongst a sea of repetitive, mediocre gameplay. It does nothing to differentiate itself within an increasingly cluttered genre, and so the experience is forgotten about before you’ve even had time to comprehend the potential of a deeper meaning.
