    Overall, this is a great product with a low price tag and high replay value, and deserves attention. Some more bosses and maybe a mode where aliens are playable would really go a long way for the longevity, though. The lack of any character progression means if the gameplay alone is not enticing enough for some, replaying will not be a worthwhile experience.

    Even though Earthfall isn't revolutionary and doesn't stand tall with top-tier cooperative shooters, there's still some fun to be had with it, especially if you have friends to enjoy it with.

    Earthfall somewhat succeeds at it’s core mission, if it’s mission is to try to kickstart the multiplayer subgenre that Turtle Rock started a decade ago. It’s biggest failure is convincing people that it is a better alternative to Left 4 Dead 2.

    Earthfall just isn’t fun. The game has a solid foundation but that structure doesn’t hold anything that’s entertaining or interesting enough to merit the effort of playing it, especially when there are already several superior games that inhabit the same subgenre.

    Earthfall is a hard pill to swallow. Almost everything it does will lead to frustration. Your money is better off spent elsewhere unless of course you constantly love to scream in your friend's ears.

    I’m all for taking the spirit of a beloved classic and bringing it up to date, but you have to be prepared to be judged utterly against that original game. Under the right circumstances Earthfall is capable of capturing the frantic teamwork of Left 4 Dead, but there’s too much wrong here to maintain it for long.

    There’s still a lot of potential to be realised in a Left 4 Dead-like experience, but Earthfall is a complete miss. It fails to build upon the foundations abandoned by Valve, with repetitive AI spawns and an arsenal of weaponry that does nothing to distinguish themselves from one another. And with just four hours of content to work through, you’ll be left feeling short-changed by an experience that gives you no reason to return once the credits roll.

    Heard a lot of wining about repetitiveness and aesthetics etc, but what you need to understand is It's no Farcry 5, but then it's not trying to be either! Sure it's a Left 4 Dead clone, but who cares, considering L4D never made it to the PS4. If if you have 3 buddies then play this online coop it becomes well worth it.

    Did I mention its punishingly hard to survive and make it through the levels, which creates even more fun to the challenge in this game, I was running around with my bros for an hour before managed to nail a level.

    You have to use tactics and work together to survive, which makes completing a level that so much more rewarding. Nice mix of defence and fortifying yourself in to survive hoards of aliens. Printing guns on a 3D printer and some tough and colourful bosses to boot.

    Graphics wise, its simplistic for sure but then it doesn't have to be flashy either it's not a triple-A title. It's a PC port using the Unreal engine and if you know what your gonna get and expect that then it's all good.

    This is the sort of game that you dip in and out with friends a few times a week, you're not going to be going on lengthy Ghost recon wildlands campaigns or worrying about levelling up like the division. It's a simple run, gun and survive, FPS coop shooter and it does exactly what is said on the tin!
