While Dungeons 2 doesn’t offer anything groundbreaking in the world of RTS games, managing two different gameplay areas can be both challenging and fun.. It plays similarly to classics like Dungeon Keeper, and some of its forced humour and boring plot could definitely use a bit of work. But those looking for an old-school experience with some modern changes, look no further.

The gameplay loop is truly satisfying. Realistically all I was going into Dungeons 2 with was the hope that I would get something vaguely reminiscent of Dungeon Keeper on my PlayStation 4, and I wasn’t disappointed there by any means. I can’t see myself pulling this one up quite as often as I do the other two Kalypso games I have on my PS4 – Tropico 5 and Grand Ages: Medieval, but by the same token I don’t regret my time spent with this in the slightest.

I won’t pretend [Dungeons 2] blew me away, but it did surprise me how addicted I became to playing it.

Despite not excelling at any single thing, the combined dungeon keeper with RTS approach does result in an interesting game that can be enjoyable once some time has been spent with it.

Largely decent, if derivative, but glinting away in the torchlight are constant hints of what might have been. [Aug 2016, p.94]

Dungeons 2 is a bit of a missed opportunity, and isn't going to revive the age of the Dungeon-builder any time soon.

If you like playing as the bad guys in a fairy tale and have a love for real-time strategy games, Dungeons 2 is worth a shot. The way the dungeons are handled with the Hand of Terror and the real-time narrator are the superb bright spots of the game. The game is not super in-depth and is not full of micromanaging. This does allow for quicker sessions and progression.

All in all, Dungeons 2 is an enjoyable venture. The dungeon aspect of the game is great and really sent me down memory lane even if the controls annoyed me a bit. The Overworld RTS style play could be polished up a bit to make it more engaging.

If Dungeons 2 [were] just a competent dungeon builder held back by a few technical bugs and some bad interface design, it might be something worth checking out. As a dungeon builder horrifically Frankensteined to one of the lamest RTS experiences I've played in years, its an unfortunate monstrosity that should be safely avoided.

Like other reviews, it has a hard learning curve and I figured much stuff on my own. Especially when I started skirmish games and the narrator don't give U as many advices like he do at story mode.
That's the thing that dropped my opinion down a bit. Otherwise I really love the planing, building and try to not get my lvl up minions dead by heroes of the Overworld.
But if U liked Dungeon keeper or Warcraft. Or do you love strategy games in general. This may be a game worth spend some time with.

Dungeon is where you build units, gather resources, and research new stuff. The overworld is where you do most of your fighting and killing.
Graphics are decent, units are sorta "cartoonie" but still look good.

So if you're into RTS type games you cant go wrong with this game, plus its only $49.99 new.
    Go be the "ultimate evil"!
