When I first reviewed Driceclub I gave it a 3 due to the many flaws and bugs within the game. The car detail is just as impressive and I keep getting drawn back to stunning visuals in this game having played forza horizon 2 I can say with pride that Driveclub simply beats Forza Horizon 2 in the graphics and visuals department. there may not be as many cars but hey you won't mind the lack of cars because you will enjoy the driving mechanics of the game and yes the controls is amazing.

The game finally feels complete and polished and I'm looking forward to playing Driveclub for many hours this is truly one amazing racing experience

I bought the PS4 mainly for this game. The game isn't as bad as people say it is, and it's not as good as it should be. Visuals are great, sound is a little disappointing mainly when you drift and all the cars do the same annoying noise. Gameplay isn't bad, but it isn't great too. Forza Horizon 2 is way better than this, but this is still a nice game to have if you own a PS4.

At first I thought the game was great. Then it got really really hard. Then I thought it was crap, but persevered. Then I got really good suddenly (must drive manual with a loud surround system)......

    ....then it became awesome

    .......then it became an obsession.

Challenges weren't working, which is a core part of the game. More than 2 months later everything is functioning perfectly and this is the nicest game of this genre I have ever played. Piles of tracks, beautifully detailed cars an scenery. Challenges with friends or other DriveClub players are addictive! Trying again and again to shave of a few tenths. Tracks have been added since and next year we'll get Japan, a free update. Felt sorry for Evolution with all the abuse they got, it went too far. Sure, the launch was a mess, but they've worked hard to put things right, and it's now a great game. Expand

Gave the game a 9/10. Being a project gotham fan, this game is right up my alley. The challenges in the clubs is really fun and the game is jaw droppingly gorgeous.

The online is solid once you get into a room, but still a little ropey when refreshing challenges outstanding etc.

The most recent patch brought weather to the game. As much as I would say its not a game changer and I would of liked to of seen this at launch, it is defiantly a very welcomed addition. While whizzing down the course at 150mph with the rain on your windscreen you will drive differently so its defiantly not just a new coat of paint but a lot more than that.

Over all I am very happy with the game.

My first experience of Driveclub was only three weeks ago, and after the initial stories of a game woefully unfinished, disgruntled gamers trading it back early and warnings that it really was not very good at all, I couldn't help but wander what I had let myself in for?

Well, thankfully, these fears were all unfounded, and I will come back to them I promise. Driveclub is the latest title from Evolution, the people who gave us the wonderful chaos of Motorstorm and the sequel, Apocalypse. Both of those titles still stand out not only to myself, but anyone who wanted something different from their racers.

Starting off, I have to go to the presentation. Menus are clean and fast, you really don't get lost anywhere, and this is a major plus. Perhaps in some of the more complex gameplay options they can be a little limiting, but for the most part they're designed so that you can go back to the most important part (the racing!!) as soon as.

Graphically, the game is probably the best-looking racer out there (certainly it is the best looking racer I've ever seen) - at any point in the game there are endless racers hammering it around the track, complex textures on cars and the track, with sublime lighting - and it doesn't ever jitter ONCE. If you wanted one graphical reference title for our PS4, something to make your friends jealous, make it this one.

The sound is disappointing though, and perhaps made all the more disappointing by the wonderful graphics. The engines sound meaty, and the sound effects are good, but there isn't anything that involves you. If you doubt my opinion in any way, go and play Need For Speed Shift on either the PS3 or XBOX 360, and drive the Ford Escort Cosworth - THAT is WHAT a racing game should sound like!! The music is okay, but its not there really for incident, and is just as part of the presentation, to fill in a necessary space, and immediately forgettable.

So onto the gameplay then - Driveclub's car feel is odd, and the somewhat chunky handling that merges just a little arcade with a good portion of sim (similar to Need for Speed Pro Street) really does take a while to get the hang of, but once you're there, then the really annoying nature of some of the tracks (designed to really involve might I add!!) changes to compulsion to master them, to beautiful effect. Its to the games benefit that it plays differently from say Codemaster's GRID series, and in kind of a way the game feels influenced from say Sega and Namco's later racers, in that they concentrated on the one pure thing, and avoided the gimmicks. There is no upgrading cars as such, the main meat of the game is purely on the racing, and later the social ascent of the racing. In a way, Evolution should be congratulated - this game cannot compare to the Gran Turismo's and the Forza's of this world and if you did, you'd be missing the point entirely. This is a racer not only built for veterans, but for newcomers after a change too.

Of the modes in the game then, it has to be said that the campaign mode is woefully short, so thankfully the online modes (now fully working by the way may I add) compensate, and also prove remarkably involving, but with one major stumbling block - to actually play an online race you require a PSN+ subscription, which I think quite honestly is a bit of a con. This game for the most part costs £50 on average, and the campaign's short length eventually forces you to try the game online for some racing, and then you have to pay - what gives? Still, provided you pay, the online stuff is now solid and really unmissable.

For my gripes though, I have to give massive kudos to Evolution for their constant updates on the game (the weather patch, released last week, really makes for some stunning racing through harsh weather!!), and releasing a lot of the early game packs for free as an apology for all the early issues is a good deed.

Overall, Driveclub is by no means the the ultimate driving game, and if you look at the separate components, then you're going to question whether this is worth playing. However, if you look past the flaws, and play it for what it is, and enjoy it the way its meant to be enjoyed, then you are going to have a lot of fun.

A different and slightly flawed racer, but all the better because it is different.

I bought the game at launch at it sat on my shelf until now. I tried to play it but so many better games came out and I simply didn't have the time. Now the weather patch has hit, online issues have been fixed and the game is generally more stable. So I decided to give it another go after seeing all the hype for the new weather system. I was quite surprised to see that I spend a whole evening just marvelling at the effects. I also gave the campaign another go and am now at around half way through.

It has been a bumpy start for Evolution studios for this generation. Driveclub still isn't as fun as say Forza in my opinion, but it's a nice racing game fix with some truly spectacular graphics. During launch I wouldn't have recommended Driveclub, now I'm beginning to think it might not be that bad. It still isn't a Forza-killer, but it's worth a shot. Now if only that PS+ version would be released as well....more people could appreciate Evolution's effort.

This is an enjoyable racing game, it is a bummer that the online component had issues but it is getting fixed. The game looks fantastic and the dynamic weather update made it even more so. I like the different country s that the tracks are set in but a few more would've been great. The game is load of fun to play, I had no interest until I played a retail demo. Soon after that I bought the game.

Driveclub is a good, solid racing game. And that's all. There is nothing more to add, because this game doesn't write a history of the genre. For sure it's much less than creators promised, but still can offer you some fun. But only if it's being distributed for free. It is not worth your money.

Having got the game yesterday, I wasn't overly exited with my purchase but as a few mates have it I thought I'd give it a bash. The cars I've raced feel different on handling (using a controller), the single player is similar to other games but it's good with the friends leader-board for each event challenging you to go one better than your friends. If you join a club you can unlock additional cars and challenge other clubs with your good times. It has a very fast feel to it, so I'm not sure how it would be on a wheel with FFB....it might just be a bit too quick.

Graphics are alright, nothing spectacular compared to PC racing games. Better than anything I've seen on the PS3 as you'd expect, but I was expecting a bit more.

Audio is alright, again nothing spectacular but good enough.

Multiplayer even worked when trying it which I didn't expect after all the server issues on release. It is slow to start a race though, and there is a bug if you join a friends session and then start a single player race (it doesn't join the MP session and stops your SP race).

I probably wouldn't pay £40+ for the game, but a pre-owned one isn't bad value for money.

I was looking forward to the PS Plus edition, which was promised to be available on the PS4 launch. After the announcement, slowly but surely, Sony announced what the PS Plus edition would actually be. While it was meant as "the full version minus a few cars and tracks", would end up more as a free demo with a better sounding label - PS Plus edition - slapped on. Broken promise number one.
Then, development wasn't really going that well and Evolution Studios decided that the game wasn't ready on PS4 release. Broken promise number 2.

But the real disaster struck when the game was released. No online functionality, which sucks for the people that actually bought this abomination, and no PS Plus edition. In the **** that resulted, Evolution Studios promised to fix the servers first, and release a PS Plus edition later. We're now 2 months further, servers are semi-fixed and there's already DLC out. And the PS Plus edition? They've decided to just keep quiet about that, maybe us stupid gamers will just forget about it. Broken promise number 3.

The physics are pure arcade, but work pretty well. The handling is direct and it doesn't feel floaty like many other arcade racers from the recent years.

The offline career mode is a little underwhelming. The amount of events the tour mode comes with is simply not enough, and it's appalling that they keep 176 (!) events aside as paid DLC. You can get them for €20 with the season pass, but for a game going for the full retail price, they should have been included. Some of the DLC will be provided for free, but it doesn't make up for the stuff they make you pay extra for.

Online, the game was a disaster on release but is gradually improving. Still a lot of bugs though with what should have been the core of this game.

It always appears photo realistic, and anyone who's in denial of this needs to have their eyes tested. This is an opinion of course, but I have reason to consider this more of a fact.

HOWEVER, Driveclub, in essence is a conventional arcade racer, that attempts to divide itself from other racing titles (with mini challenges within races such as average speed face offs and drifting, not to mention clubs) but none of these features have ever ensured its individuality. Much like the studio's last title, Motorstorm, it's nothing particularly special, but it's by no means a bad game.

If you have a PS4 and love cars, I do recommend picking this up just so you can drool over the beauty of the mostly European models, but this is no adequate substitute for Gran Turismo. You'll be much better off buying this game cheap. It has some promising DLC coming up, with both payed and free DLC packs released on a monthly basis until June 2015, but only buy the DLC if you think the game itself is good enough.

Driveclub may suffer from severe and constant connection problems, but apart from that, Driveclub is a great racing game that mixes Simulation and Arcade types very well, being suitable for both casual and hardcore players. Even though it doesn't bring anything new to racing games, it's really fun to play and the graphics are great. It has everything to be the best new-gen racing game of 2014.

Driveclub is a must-have for any PS4 racing fan. It’s ideal for anyone who enjoys a good arcade racer. It’s challenging, but teaches you how to overcome every single one. Because of this, Driveclub is far more rewarding than its peers. This coupled with fantastic graphical fidelity, impressive sound design, and adrenaline-inducing sense of speed makes Driveclub one of the best racing games available on current-gen systems.
