    As a huge dbz fan being my top 2 anime ever, as watching as a kid to rewatching again when I got older, this game is everything I’ve ever wanted from a DBZ game. The semi open world and rpg elements set in the dbz universe is everything I hoped for! If you are a big dbz fan like myself this is a must purchase!     Okay I'm 20 hours into the game, I just defeated Frieza and I believe it's time to review the game.

    What critics are criticizing is basically the "blandness and similarity" in side quests, but what they fail to understand that most of those side quests are linked to an old character from the first Dragon Ball which puts a big wide smile on my face and brings up those nostalgia vibes.    Okay I'm 20 hours into the game, I just defeated Frieza and I believe it's time to review the game.

    What critics are criticizing is basically the "blandness and similarity" in side quests, but what they fail to understand that most of those side quests are linked to an old character from the first Dragon Ball which puts a big wide smile on my face and brings up those nostalgia vibes. All of them are fetch quests? Nope, and even if they are, I'm gladly doing it, it makes me happy to fly around and live in the world of Dragon Ball.

    Battle? This game is very oriented towards PVE, and its very true to the story, it means Vegeta is difficult as hell, it means Frieza is difficult as hell, it means you obliterate Frieza when you turn into Super Saiyan. Every character that is playable with, or playable against, has a different set of moves, animations, comments, aura, and uniqueness. One single physical attack button? Hell yes and it's perfect, I'm sick of those "light attack-strong attack" or "punch-kick" fighting games. One button is enough to make a combo and that gives room for other actions. Transformation on the fly is awesome. Support characters control is awesome.

    Intermission is bland? Hell no, there's lots of activities to do and it feels like a vacation after so much battles in each arc, you relax during that time, collect orbs, fish, cook, train, increase your level, learn new moves, and talk to every single character, because they always have something new to say, go out and discover Dragon Ball memories, see how Krillin is reading adult magazines and Launch turns blond when she sneezes.

    All in all, this is the best Dragon Ball experience ever, it has everything I want and more, I couldn't ask for any change, controls are difficult? You just need time to get used to them and then you become a pro, didn't Goten had issues with flying! Ki detection is great, power levels are true to the anime.

    Don't read those stupid IGN, GameSpot and whatever reviews, they are reviewing it as a game, but this isn't any game, this is a Dragon Ball game, see what Dragon Ball fans are saying, go buy the game if you haven't yet, you won't regret it, actually you will regret it if you don't.

    The world is fully realized with excellent attention to detail, flying feels really good, the combat feels very much like the show, this game is a dream come true for a hardcore Z fan.

    For me and now this is the best DB game. RPG here is not what I've expected but it doesn't ruin the game for me. Main advantage here for me is atmosphere. Hope we will see more DLC soon :3

    The best DBZ game of all time, thank you cc2 for this masterpiece. 1.5 million sold units of the game in the first week, one of the best selling rpg games coming from japan, and is even more impressive when you realize is an action rpg genre. im just waiting for the sequel, DBS kakarot will be amazing, because they now know what we want them to improve.

    I love the game. Great art style. I wish there was coop on single player. I also with there was multiplayer. Also wish there was vs against your friends. But other than running around in open world is fun. Great game rat 10/10

    My favorite (current gen) DBZ Game. Amazing story portrayal with only some minor changes. Many hours of fun. Any True DBZ fan will want to play this game. Its a blast. I hope they make more games like this in the Future.

Es un juego de peleas de un jugador, dónde al pelear se obtienen puntos de expericencia. 2. Intenta revivir lo mejo posible lo visto en Dragon Ball Z. 3. Dejen su critica, los que la tienen argumenada, pero no valen que es muy repetitivo, ES UN JUEGO DE LUCHAS DE UN JUGADOR, que demonios se esperaban; tampoco valen las que son "lo jugué por haberme gastado mi plata en ello, además, ya me vi la serie", bro, es para revivir lo que sentiste al ver el manga o el anime, y si no te gustó, lo puedes reembolsar.     DBZ: Kakarot is the best Dragon Ball game ever made. The battle system is really amazing and easy to learn, the graphics are beautiful and the open world is awesome.
    For new fans, the RPG element might be too simple, but for true fans of the series, this game has everything they want.
    And that's what really matters! The fans!

    Finally a DBZ game where the story doesnt end at the frieza saga. The fighting and gameplay is awesome. The RPGs elements need to be fixed a little bit and offer a lot more but for the first entry for this style of dbz game, I think cyber connect did a good job

    It’s a beautiful Dragon Ball Z game! Such a great nostalgia trip for any fan. The fighting part is great, fun and challenging. It’s a different game... while not perfect it’s a dream game for someone that has loved dragon ball for decades

    I have enjoyed the Xenoverse series and love DBZ and I can safely say that this game is a must play for DBZ fans who enjoy RPG's. It's a nice mixture of exploration and quests with skill unlocks and plenty to explore in the world. The combat draws on the best of Xenoverse while standing on its own with some cool features like support combo's and the "get pumped" mode that becomesI have enjoyed the Xenoverse series and love DBZ and I can safely say that this game is a must play for DBZ fans who enjoy RPG's. It's a nice mixture of exploration and quests with skill unlocks and plenty to explore in the world. The combat draws on the best of Xenoverse while standing on its own with some cool features like support combo's and the "get pumped" mode that becomes available when you max out your meter. I love that pigging out on food is a way to stat build and 'get stronk' for a fight. I like the dumb fishing game and I love you can drive cars for literally no reason other than piccolo and goku did it. It's a great tribute to the DBZ series and a terrific way to re-experience the saga.… Expand

    Well, fanboys like me will definitely buy it without giving a second thought. But still, if you have played all the Dragonball based games in past, and watched each and every saga of Dragonball, and want to save your money , I will suggest you to wait until price drop. :)

    As an Adult whose first taste into shonen manga was Dragon Ball, this Game is definetely a 10/10 for me.

You can be caught up in a lot of the story before DB:Super. There are some slight bugs here and there but this can easily be looked over. The combat and gameplay are great! Animation is perfect! Voice acting can be cringe sometimes but that's not a problem. Missing out on a side-quest can be annoying as you won't have access to them anymore through the story until you complete the entire game.
    The perfect DBZ story-telling game in an RPG element! Now all we have to do is for them to do DB:Super as well and then this will be the PERFECT GAME! There are a couple of things to do after the game but I'll let that to you to find out yourself.    … Expand

    I'm not the biggest dragon ball fan, I've only seen dragon ball z and some of the original, but even I can say this is a great game. The combat is the most fun I've played in a game in a long time, flying around the world of dragon ball is breath takeing. Even if you dont care for dragon ball or anime this is a good game for everyone just if you like videogames.

    DBZ Kakarot is the latest and greatest in an exceptionally long lines of retold story through video games. That said, I am enjoying (almost) every second of it! The pacing makes it feel more like you are a part of the story rather than just jumping fight to fight. Some people seem to say they are bored with the cut-scenes but honestly, what is DBZ if not a bunch of talking with fightingDBZ Kakarot is the latest and greatest in an exceptionally long lines of retold story through video games. That said, I am enjoying (almost) every second of it! The pacing makes it feel more like you are a part of the story rather than just jumping fight to fight. Some people seem to say they are bored with the cut-scenes but honestly, what is DBZ if not a bunch of talking with fighting thrown in? Reconnecting, however briefly, with some of the lesser known characters like Eighter has been just a down right good time.
    Side quests don't have a whole lot of variety, I will say that, but I still find myself enjoying them just due to the beautiful map design and character interaction (even though the character animations are a little stiff sometimes.)
    My biggest issue so far, is that a lot of the quests take you between different (beautiful) locales and while I enjoy dropping in, finding an item, and dropping out, the load times make the gaps noticeable. There are times like when hunting for the dragon balls that i feel like i am more in the loading screen than the game screen. That's the ONLY reason it gets a 9/10 instead of a 10 for me.
    People complaining about the controls, oh well. There is a learning curve just like with any game, get used to it or don't play?
    Here's the thing, on its surface, DBZ Kakarot is a beautifully designed game with a HUGE nostalgia factor. If that is what you are looking for then DEFINITELY buy it. If you aren't in to seeing the story you know and, presumably, love repeated for the umpteenth time then don't. Honestly with how niche this game is, I would say it will drop in price to under $30 within a month or two so if you can wait it might even be worth it to do so.    … Expand

    The, game is fun to say the least but that's not the point i truly with all my heart enjoyed the story as much as its been redone but somewhere in me i feel as if this game has reawakened my childhood with new content from the creator which i enjoy its really hands down one of my favorite anime triple aaa titles.

    Graphics: bright and beautiful, character models look good as do environments. they might not blow you away but there's definitely a lot of detail and effort put in here.

    Audio: Classic soundtrack and original cast voices what else would a DBZ fan want?

    Gameplay: Although quite a bit of fighting takes place, being an rpg there are lots of other things to do which will make any DBZ fan smile, Anyone who has played previous Cyberconnect2 games will know how much content some of their games have. The fighting feels good and pretty satisfying and levelling up character moves etc is enjoyable. I had fun just wondering around each area exploring and seeing how much effort went in to each place you'd see in the anime or manga.

    The only reason I haven't given a 10 is because I believe there's always room for improvement.. but being a huge dragon ball fan this has definitely fulfilled everything I would want from a game. What dragon ball fan wouldn't want to step into Gokus, and other characters boots and explore the vast world of DragonBall Kakarot.

    The open world is somewhat empty but there are still side quests, collectibles and resources to be found that make you more efficient in combat.     Despite the numerous flaws, Kararot still offers a wonderful retelling of the main story, above-average graphics, and a great soundtrack, so it’s worth picking up for established and new fans of the series alike.

    A very few games can compare to Kakarot in terms of sheer love towards the original series and storytelling qualities. Not without its set of flaws that leave only regret not being even greater, Kakarot still manages to be a great game for fans. No, scratch that. It manages to be an amazing game! May they not stop here, and deliver more and more of love-letters like this. If it goes in the right direction, the next one could definitely be legendary.
