    I don't normally buy games on day of release, but this one I did, so first impressions after about 10 hours play. Its a pretty game, but pretty in the 'shiney plasticy claymation' graphics style so common on the next gen consoles. I dont know if its a next-gen tech thing, but I'd prefer realistic to claymation (or 'bound in flame' style cel-shaded) any day. Story is OK. but then I thought DA 1 and 2 were great, so I'm almost a guarenteed DA3 story fan -lots of the characters/nps/location are recognisable which suits me fine. Character classes, skill trees, progression mechanics, combat mechanics are also very familiar to past DA players. There also the companion interaction with dialogue choices prompting the 'x likes/dislikes you more' reactions. Thats great. Lack of player character face/body customisation bugged me. Like 'Bound in flame' its a choice of limited presets - maybe its a next gen 'limited character model' thing. I wanted a human character with white hair - so the presets left me with one with green lips ........... ah well, at least it matches the green magic. A lot of people have bigged up the sidequests. Well so far its the same old 'go there, get this, speak to them' stuff. Theres a bit of sidequest 'build a camp'/spread your influence' for your faction metagame in there too like the army recruitment in the previous dragon age (or camp captures in Skyrim).     This game is unplayable. My save files got corrupted twice now. I am not even sure I want to start for the 3rd time. If you bought the delux edition - DON'T download the DLC's. They are the reason my saves got corrupted.

It feels like Diablo but with a different visual viewpoint and with a party rather than solo. There's lots of dialogue but none of the quests or drama feels like it means anything at all.     I really thought, based on the way people talk about Dragon Age, that this game would be a lot deeper. It feels like Diablo but with a different visual viewpoint and with a party rather than solo. There's lots of dialogue but none of the quests or drama feels like it means anything at all. And the combat is not about much more than clicking X. In fact, just about every action is not about anything other than clicking X. YES I KNOW you CAN press other buttons, to execute alternate attacks based on skills you gain as you play, but you don't have to in order to win. That's the problem. All those extra attacks and spells are no more useful than a new pretty outfit in an MMO. They are unnecessary. No strategy required. Hold down X during a battle and run all around the battle zone. You might die a couple of times, but it won't take very long to win. In Skyrim I felt more like I was the character and that I was a part of the events happening around me. Discovery felt like discovery. Dragon Age; Inquisition feels extremely artificial. I can't even swim. Try to swim in the ocean and you hear a screaming sound (it's supposed to be your character; why would she scream in the water?) and then the game resets with you just next to the shore again. There are slopes that are not very challenging but for some reason you can't climb them. Small walls you inexplicably cannot climb over, even though any 7 year old in the real world could. So, basically, beautiful visuals, but the environments don't feel open world-ish. Instead I feel somewhat channeled artificially. There are tons of barrels and other things that you cannot open. They are just decoration. You can only open select ones. You cannot loot everyone you vanquish. Nonsensically their weapons and armor are not available to loot unless the game decides to give you something, and what it gives you is not really related to the animal or bandit you killed.

    Ultimately, the game is fun in a mindless sort of way, kind of like a very elaborate Tetris. For a much more involving RPG try Skryim, Oblivion, Morrowind, Daggerfall, and Arena. The combat in Arena and Daggerfall is more interesting because as you wave your mouse around, your character waves his/her weapon, so you feel connected to the combat - no just hitting a single key. Arena is very old and has crappy graphics by today's standards, but it is gripping. I think it's free now and legally; just google it.

    Game tried so much but didn't completely succeeded in everything. Graphics were great in 2014 but something was lacking. Not the best Bioware stuff

    The one word I can think of to describe this game is decent. Nothing, in my mind, excels at what it does. The story is pretty good, the characters are pretty good (humorous), the gameplay forces you to be tactical when the difficulty spikes and the variety of characters allows you to tale different approaches to gameplay. My biggest gripe with the game is the fantasy world itself. It feelsThe one word I can think of to describe this game is decent. Nothing, in my mind, excels at what it does. The story is pretty good, the characters are pretty good (humorous), the gameplay forces you to be tactical when the difficulty spikes and the variety of characters allows you to tale different approaches to gameplay. My biggest gripe with the game is the fantasy world itself. It feels generic. Bland. There is much to explore but I felt no desire to. The npcs that occupy the world have no character and most of what there is to see is wilderness. Very rarely that you'll run across a village or town and when you do there is really nothing to see of interest. There are a lot of side quests. I mean a lot. But they feel like mmorpg busy work.     But let's talk about the gameplay. The combat is great. You can pause a battle and have (almost) full control over the situation. Choices actually matter and have consequences. And the game world is gorgeous.

    The character customization is the best that I've seen in an RPG so far (pretty sure PC elitists will correct me on that). You can craft and modify gears, which comsumes materials. Depending on what kind of materials you use it affects the bonuses of each crafted gear.

    The main cast is a mixed bag. I like the cast from previous entries much more. (Some characters from previous entries will make a comeback.)

    One thing I really hate about the gameplay is that you cannot longer assign points to your attributes when leveling up.

    But overall I'm having fun. For those of you who wants a more polish experience you might want to wait for a patch or two.

    The graphics are vivid, not too dull nor bright, but just right. The combat is fluid and allows users to perform combos. The tactical menu is an amazing feature, allowing players to set up how their Inquisitor and his/her companions should attack stuff. It's not too grindy and it's a nice change from RPGs that force players to kill monsters endlessly in order to reach a certain goal, be it a level or a rare item.

    There are a few grips however that brought down the score just a tiny bit. Obviously there will be glitches but there are certain game-breaking glitches as well. I really wanted to romance a certain character but a weird glitch prevented me from doing so, and I hadn't realized it was a game-breaking bug until I looked it up, many hours later. Also, after completing the story, there's this feeling that the game is hollow, empty and there isn't much to it anymore. Every companion I talk to doesn't have the conversation wheel anymore. Even more so, the companions themselves and some furniture disappear every once in a while. I don't know if this is a glitch, but good thing I have a save before the final fight.

    Even with the glitches, it's still a must have for any RPG fan. This game, in my books, is also a GOTY contender.

    A decent game , the story was quiet boring although gameplay was quiet fun. The combat is quiet clunky and slow from time to time. The graphic was great and is one of the only reason that im giving it a score of 7. The number of content is quiet decent although it does get repetitive after a while. They could be more innovative with the multi player. Still an acceptable game and worth the price.

    I was a fan of Dragon Age series and was so much hyped for this game but it punched me hard.. This is a typical business game I would say, it's fixed in a model and has nothing creative. They say the world is huge, true, they say there are a hell lot of things you can do in the game, true, however, all of those are repetitively boring. I think I've almost lost my faith in Bioware..

From judging those who have wronged the people of Thedas, to saving the world from the brink of disaster, to hunting down the most fearsome of dragons, Inquisition delivers on its promise to rejuvenate the Dragon Age series and provide a more open-world based storytelling experience.

    Inquisition is a tremendously vast game, providing more than 100 hours of content sprawling over an impressive eleven areas throughout the countries of Ferelden and Orlais. This is quite the departure from developer Bioware’s usual RPG formula, which most commonly includes 4 major areas in addition to the starting tutorial world (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Dragon Age: Origins) sometimes including smaller areas for vignette style side-quest exploration (the Mass Effect Series). Additionally, Inquisition is the first console era Bioware game to exceed an average playtime of over 70 hours (Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights being the only other games in Bioware's catalog to do so).

    Adding to the overwhelming amount of game-play that Inquisition has to offer are the visuals and Dragon Age: Inquisition looks stunning on the new generation of consoles (Xbox One & PS4) as well as on PC. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the Xbox 360 and PS3 releases of Inquisition. The amount of texture popping that occurs in the previous generation consoles in near impossible to miss and, while it doesn’t take away from the overall function of the game, presents a very underwhelming feeling to those who choose to play this game on older hardware.

    While Dragon Age: Inquisition certainly doesn’t fail to impress, it does feel streamlined compared to the other titles in the Dragon Age series and while there is an emphasis on exploration, the content within each of the vast areas are very similar to one another and have little relevance to the plot aside from leveling your characters. These things start out as minor issues but, due to the length of Inquisition, the repetitive aspect of many of the side-quests and certainly the crafting system (I can only collect so much elfroot before losing my already fragile grip on reality) can really bog down the player experience, especially on the back-half of the campaign, where the narrative loses some of it's steam where it should be doing the opposite.

    Dragon Age: Inquisition is a wonderfully crafted game that boasts incredible visuals and a narrative that is truly engaging...when you're playing a story mission that is. As much fun as Inquisition can be to play, I can't shake the feeling that it's just a single player MMO (and that is far from a good thing) so while it makes great strides in technical ambition for both Bioware and Western RPG's as a whole and does well with making the player invested in the characters and world that it has crafted, it falls just a little short.

    *Editor's note: the DLC released for Inquisition during the first year of it's release definitely makes the narrative feel more engaging (Trespasser in particular) and while this adds positively to the experience overall, just makes me wish that the core game emphasized on it more.

    Purely amazing upgrades to the Dragon Age series. I've played em all, and this is the best one. Big open world maps, lots of intertwining story arcs, lots of back to the root RPG mechanics. One of the best RPGs made to date.

    Multiplayer built around the single player game. Pros good storyline, great companions. Cons the lack of arcane warrior, poor usage of maps, single player is way too short. Lack of a tutorial.

    First off I want to say, this game is fun.. It is your typical Bioware role playing game, you have a crap ton of dialog the main focus in these games are usually so, then you have a open world to run around in etc. This game is nothing like skyrim, or a Bethesda game, the world is not that complex their is no Night or day cycle etc. If you ever played Neverwinter nights you wouldFirst off I want to say, this game is fun..     Their is allot of action and some people may not like all of the dialog at times it can get cumbersome. None the less it is a good rpg game.

    I am a little concerned about the value. I pre-ordered my copy for the ps4 downloading the the weapon dlc etc. On 2 occasions The DLC disapeared at start up and I could not load my save games. I had to contact E.A each time to get a code to use to re-download the dlc because it is not in the playstation store yet etc. in order to continue playing my save.. I ended up deleted the dlc weapon out of my inventory and I am praying that fixes it. This game has some glaring technical issues some which force you to reload the game and some that can be game breaking if you cannot contact EA and get new codes for your dlc weapons. My suggestion to people that get this for christmas or later NOT TO USE THE ANY dlc codes until this has been fixed or you can invest many hours into your game and not be able to load your save because your dlc just vanishes...

    Bioware will get it patched and E.A customer service did not hesitate to help me and give me new codes..

I hadn't played a fantasy RPG of this scale before, the closest to it was probably Oblivion years ago on the PC, so it seemed like it would be a fresh experience that I would enjoy investing a lot of time in to.

    The short of it: I enjoyed playing DA:I, but found many elements of the game weighing down on the overall experience. Bioware made a huge game, which they may have tried to throw everything and the kitchen sink in to; much of the game comes across as uninspiring, repetitive, and clunky after the time it takes to complete an average play through. After the 40 hour mark, I began feeling like the game had lasted long enough and that I just wanted it to end. There was still so much I could do, but it just didn't seem like it was really worth it.

    I'm left thinking, had Bioware cut down on a lot of the filler then they may have had more time to commit towards building a more engaging/fun experience (with less bugs!)

    7/10 - unlikely to revisit this franchise.

    I had really high expectations for this considering I had played & loved the previous Dragon Age games. At first I was completely happy and it was giving me everything I asked for. The graphics are amazing and shows off next-gen in all its beauty. Dialog is equally impressive, hundreds of lines for every character that can be easily missed. How much did they record?! Along with that, the voice acting itself is obviously amazing. BUT, I've played around 70 hours so far and have pretty much discovered all locations and feel as if I'm coming towards the end of the story. Now there are so so so many side quests it's unreal. But I'm not interested in them anymore. They feel so similar to each other it almost feels like you're repeating the same thing in a different location. Kill that guy. Collect this. The main story is totally forgettable, nothing great at all.I love the game, but after a week of playing Ive become bored and considering CEX are offering £40 for a trade in, in cash, I think I'd rather get that money and buy something else.     Dragon Age: Inquisition is an excellent threequel that unites the disparate gameplay philosophies of it's two predecessors and FINALLY establishes the core identity of the Dragon Age franchise. Unfortunately, that being said, the game still has issues, many of which are glaringly obvious flaws that hinder the experience and prevent it from being truly great. While I can't deny that DragonDragon Age: Inquisition is an excellent threequel that unites the disparate gameplay philosophies of it's two predecessors and FINALLY establishes the core identity of the Dragon Age franchise. Unfortunately, that being said, the game still has issues, many of which are glaringly obvious flaws that hinder the experience and prevent it from being truly great. While I can't deny that Dragon Age: Inquisition is a massive RPG with a generous wealth of content , I can say that it is an experience defined by design choices that feel awkward and counterintuitive.

    When it comes to story, dialogue and quest design, Inquisition is the definition of a mixed bag. You assume the role of the self-insert hero, The Inquisitor, who can save the world because of their unique ability to close Fade rifts and stop Demon-geddon. To truly do this, you must assemble the Inquisition - a fantasy taskforce of badasses whose job is to broker peace and unite nations while staving off the oncoming demonic invasion.

    While the overall premise and narrative setup may hint at the 'most epic chapter in the Dragon Age anthology', in reality Inquisition's story and dialogue feel laboured, plodding and dull. It takes a while to get things moving, but even during Inquisition's more 'exciting' moments, the execution of these moments feels underwhelming and uninteresting.

    As for companion characters and their personalities and dialogue, they too suffer from the same underwhelming quality of writing. Even the side-quests you take part in to attain these new companions feels uneventful and oftentimes uninspired. I know it's wrong of me to criticise the creative talent responsible for providing me with sources of entertainment, but these are the same people who produced the Mass Effect trilogy, and while that could be boring at times, it still had plenty of interesting characters and story moments.

    On the combat front, Inquisition wonderfully marries the meditative pace of Dragon Age: Origins with the frenetic action of Dragon Age II, but with less than perfect results. For me, I found Inquisition's combat to be plodding and frustrating when compared with other 'smaller' more action oriented games that had better, more satisfying combat. To perform basic attacks, you simply hold down the attack button. While I have no issue with this per se, I do have an issue with enemies not reacting to getting hit by attacks. This results in battles looking like clumsy, awkward encounters with everyone swinging their weapons around with scripted animations. On top of this, there are no options to block, parry, dodge or sprint which further compounds my frustration and dislike with Inquisition's combat.

    With it's collection of sizably large open world-like maps, exploration in Inquisition should feel exciting, but in actuality it's not. While your characters can jump, they can't ledge grab and the world's design feels dated. Furthermore, your 'trusty' mini-map in the bottom corner of your screen in next to useless because it is mostly transparent and only highlights enemies and points you in the direction of quest objectives, acting more like a compass than a mini-map. What I really don't like about the mini-map is that it provides no helpful information on the topography of the land or whether you're following a path or what to expect when it comes the orientation of the world. This is by far the worst mini-map I've seen in a videogame and makes me wonder if Bioware got lazy and took shortcuts with its design implementation.

    Another point of criticism is the menus and the inventory system. For one thing, the menus feel convoluted and try to mimic the 'Mass Effect look'. Secondly, on the character screen, the font colour and type is all wrong, and the text boxes are awkwardly implemented (plus all the RPG jargon gives me a headache - just give me well explained stats and I'm good to go). When it comes to inventory, Bioware should have allowed players to carry more stuff. With a game as big (an obvious understatement) as Inquisition where players will pick up thousands of items, there needs to be A LOT of inventory space. This is one of my biggest frustrations because I would constantly need to clear out my inventory every 10 minutes.

    In all honesty, I think that Inquisition is a good game that is absolutely buried beneath bad design choices that hinder more than they help. I can see what the game is trying to be - an fantasy adventure of epic proportions - but what holds it back are things that make the experience more boring than it actually is. Maybe one day I will come back to it when I have finished every other game and appreciate it for what it is because I won't be actively thinking to myself that "I could be playing something MUCH BETTER THAN THIS".

    In the end, I think Dragon Age: Inquisition defeats itself with the immense scale of its own size and ambition, further compounded by poor design choices and underwhelming writing.

    Good - fear not DA fans who have yet to play this, it is miles better than the hugely disappointing DA2. Graphics are nice, story is good with the overall quality of the voice acting far above the vast majority of games, what we have come to expect from this and the Mass Effect series. Combat and character movement in general is much improved and is more visceral than the ludicrously weightless, cartoon feel of DA2. Like all good RPGs, there is a huge amount to keep you occupied.

    Bad - The mini map, oh my god the mini map! Don't know how they have done it but it really is the worst, most useless mini map in any game I have ever played. Be prepared to constantly check the main map because the mini map is pointless. Tactical cam can feel a bit clunky and 9/10 times isn't really necessary, ditto lock on. If you're anything like me and like to complete the vast majority of side missions, clearing an area of the map can become a little tedious, but only a little. There are still a few bugs, most of which I have came across are cosmetic in nature. The story is decent but not as interesting or original as Origins, nor are the characters. Probably one of my biggest issues with the game is the ridiculous lack of amror variants. RPG's such as this should have hundreds, instead there are only around 3 or 4 different looks for each character. Note to developers : you can never have 'too many' sets of armor. Even Dark Souls 2 doesn't have enough and it has at least 20 times as many as Inquisition.

    Verdict - Not perfect but a solid RPG which fans of the DA series and the genre itself will appreciate. It kind of plays like a cross between Skyrim, Dragons Dogma and DA and has addressed most of the issues from the awful DA2. Not as engaging as DA Origins but if you're looking for a new rpg to play and like the games I mentioned above, you won't be too disappointed.

    Sound: Best part of the game. The SFX are convincing, voice acting is great and the music is superb. If only the rest was as good as this.

    To finish with the most important part: lore/immersion: hampered by the mediocre gameplay, besides that it is clear a lot of time has been put into it. It helps enormously if you've played DAO and DA2 cause the game does not try to introduce the world in any decent way to new players. The entire beginning of the game is bad: beside a 1 second explosion in the menu (yes, the MENU!) there is no good build-up to the genesis of the Inquisition. It feels like in the time one would go to the toilet the entire inquisition is all of a sudden an organisation known to all, even though it didn't even exist in the introductionary phase. It took me 17 hours (according to the time shown in save game) to get any real feeling into the DA:I world, opposed to the instant immersion DAO offered. I'm still in my time for a refund and that is what I will do. It's not a bad game but wait untill the price drops below 30 euros.

    - no mabari companion
    - lacking in character development and companions not interesting
    - no random encounters (maybe there is but I haven't had any)
    - User Interface no longer fun and easy to use
    - Not many NPCs to talk to

    There should be more things I like or dislike about this game after I complete it. As you can see, I compare a lot of the pros and cons between DAO and DAI because DAO is the best in the Dragon Age series and DAI is like a step forward and two steps back. I really want to like this game more and giving a score of 7 is me being generous. If you've played DAO, you will be disappointed by the lack of content DAI offers. If you're a new to the Dragon Age series, then you will enjoy this game very much. Thank you for your time.

    This game has everything i want in a game. The single player is AMAZING. the online Multiplayer is fun and good but bores quick. But with new levels and bosses you have GOOD Multi online & Story mode. 100% WORTH my MONEY

    PROS:
    -You can run through the game on casual or normal and the combat will be pretty easy so you can focus on the characters and story. However you can also crank it up to hard or the brual nightmare mode (no thanks) for a ridiculous challenge that will make you think a lot more. It satisfies any level of gamer.
    -Yes the story is a bit banal but it serves the purpose and I enjoyed exploring the worlds and hearing the character dialogue and banter which made up for the story. You have a good amount of choice in who you hate on, or who you end up seducing, which is always fun.
    -Huge open world keeps the experience fresh and there's A LOT to explore. You can continue to change up your team to suit your surroundings and quests. I don't agree with other reviews that it's boring or has too many fetch quests.

    CONS:
    -You must use tactical camera in hard and nightmare mode, but unfortunately tactical camera is not polished the way it should be for its required use. I'd say 60 % of the time it's all good - but in tight and awkward spaces it can be very frustrating to maneuver and gets wonky.
    -Yes there are frustrating bugs and most of them for me revolved around the tactical camera. I had the camera warp ALL THE WAY across the map on the Storm Coast, dragging my entire party with it and placing them out to sea. Wasn't even touching a button.
    -I don't love the static NPC model you find in this game within towns. I'd like to see more living breathing towns to interact with.

    Overall DA:I is solid and I will continue to enjoy the last 15 or 20 hours I have left. It could have and should have been at least an 8 or even 9 but the bugs and unpolished tactical camera are pretty egregious. My personal enjoyment of the game keeps it in the green at a 7 and I think this is the right direction for the series.

    Great Graphics and free roaming. Still seems a little to pre programmed in the overall story line while selling itself as every game unique. I did not find it that unique. Still a great game to play. Hours of fun.

    A really good game, ridiculous amounts of content... Clocked up around 100 hours playtime i think...

    Narrative wasnt great tbh and i found the difficulty not to be particularly challenging (i played with a party of four mages and with barrier equipped on each i basically didnt get hit)

    Graphics were ok, but not amazing...

    Lets start with questing. Using WoW ( the most popular MMORPG on the market and a clear influence on this title ) we see a lot of reused templates we'll call filler. Navigate to the exclamation points, pick up a quest, find it on the map and complete it for a little reward. This system works as delivery mechanism for content. The problem is the content it delivers usually has nothing to do with winning the game. In fact, you could probably skip more than half of it and still beat the game. It is also used ad nauseam which is another problem with these systems.

    In this case, the Bioware developers took a known system from a popular MMORPG and reused it without asking themselves if the system was what brought people to the game. I'll give you another example. The crafting collection process.

    In this game, you collect resources much like you do in WoW. A herb or mining node lights up and you interact with it to obtain it. Each. And. Every. Craft. Mat. You. Need. Must. Be. Looted. By. Hand. Things like this are a good example of how WoW can be a great game in SPITE of some of the things it does which cannot be confused with fun. Nobody likes farming nodes in WoW.

    Note how many WoW players get banned for running quest bots, collect bots, fishing bots, BG bots, etc. If people are getting banned for botting it odds are pretty good it isn't a fun part of the game.

    I miss the original Dragon Age: Origins. It felt like a true successor to the Baldur's Gate franchise. It could have been even more epic but they were on the right path. They've fallen in love with other games and have retooled some of the worst features in those games to incorporate into their work. That's tragic really. Dragon Age Inquisition is a BEAUTIFUL game to look at and the story really isn't all that bad. The problem will always be in how the content is delivered. Dragon Age Inquisition does a shameful job in that regard.

    In a future iteration I'd like to see them return to a smaller, tightly woven storyline with sub plots that are all wound up before the final ( main ) plot is.

    I'd love to see them throw this material collection system into the trash where it belongs. It isn't fun running around clicking on mine veins. Give me an option to drop a flag and have my army of peons do it for me. Or make it part of the war table.

    I'd love to say every one of my 80 hours playing this game were a blast. The truth is they weren't because a good portion of those hours were spent trying to access some node on the map to close out a quest that didn't matter in the greater scheme of things.

    Not a bad game just not a great game and not as good as the original.

    This game cost me 88 hours of my life and i loved most of it.

    I realy enjoyed the vibe this game has. The storey is great... although the ending is a bit lack luster.
    The characters in this game all have personality, and the interaction feels great.
    This is a great game to escape the grind of real life.
    It did got a bit repetative, and thats why i dont give it a 8.

    Then we have the crappy characters that i personally felt were the weakest in all three games, followed by retcons and forced implementations of SJW crap. The combat was poorly done and they butchered the tactics system which made the first two games fun. Honestly this game was my most disappointing game of 2014. Go play DAO or hell even DA2 since it has a better story and sidequests as well as a functioning gameplay mechanic.

    PS: Multiplayer sucked.

    When I bought the game I was really hyped with it, I was expecting an exciting and rewarding big opened world, but I was really disappointed when I saw it worked like GW2: Zones wich you can travel to and explore them. They're quite big, but not enough.

    The problem with this game is that sooner or later you get bored of exploring maps and not having a real opened world, I've tried to finish the main story on three different occasions and I haven't been able yet because I like to explore and achieve 100% before I leave the zone.

    I feel that I enjoy it when I'm playing, the personal problem I have with it is that I get bored and pass to an other thing.

    Someday I will finish it for sure, but no clue when will that be!

    I also tried out the PvP... didn't like it at all, I'd rather play TESO for that, it was much more fun. The PvE combat feels a little bit repetitive and you stay there waiting your skills to cooldown, auto-attack sucks.

    The crafting system is soooooo confusing, I don't know who did it, but Good Lord! It's awful! And the skill trees are a no brainer, it makes nonsense that you can upgrade everything...

    Regardless of all the problems and bad things it has, you'll enjoy playing it, PvE! Seriously, don't play PvP in this game.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Dragon Age Inquisition is a good game! It has all the components it needs to be a great one with minor tweaks. The Dragon Age games best feature, has for me, always been the story and Inquisition doesn't fall short here. To be able to see Morrigan again, AND MY KID, was the best moment of the game for me! Never had a strong connection to Varric, so to have him on my team wasn't as cool.
    Now, I said a few tweaks could make this a great game, and I'm thinking of three things in particular. Firstly, the tactical camera SUCKS! One of the best things of the first two games has been broken and burned. It's more or less useless here, but then again, you don't need to use it at all. The game is very easy to play through without any trouble, and that's another of the game's flaws. Origins was hard! Even on normal it was hard. Spells and abilities had a bigger impact on how battle would go. Crowd control was also a lot better in Origins and DA2, but Inquisition battle has a flow to it that the other games don't. This might be because you don't need tactical camera and pause the battle to know you'll win.
    Second big flaw to me is that the numbers are simply too big! When I an enemy archer takes longer to kill than the enemy tank, something isn't right! The first ten levels in the game doesn't have this problem as much as the late game. Then having two enemy archers can be annoying as f*ck! They simply won't die. As some of the other reviewers have pointed out, it's like a MMO, where the numbers get so huge after a while it seems just silly!
    Third flaw is the tactics option... You know, being able to chose what spells to use when and such? Not in this game! The AI for your team is really bad in my opinion. They run in circles, don't use their abilities, chug their potions like alcoholics and don't have a clue what to do. In the tactics menu, you get the choice of attack who the PC/any other party member is attacking or defend PC/any other party member. That's it.

    As bad as these three things are for the player experience, the rest makes up for it! The world is fantastic! I'm a lore freak, so to read all the lore in this world makes my head spin. And where the previous games had four dragon fights in total, this one has 13 or 14! And they are fuuuuun!
    I wish they had more choices though... The ones that I do, especially during the main quest-line, doesn't matter to me. If you don't like Hawke, you won't care if he/she dies in the fade. BUT Dragon Age Keep fixes this with some handy tricks from your world state, so it kind of works out for the best.

    Total score: A strong 7! The three things that I mentioned, pisses me off while I play, but you'll make it through the game anyway. And you'll want to. The story is so damn good! And don't hate on Solas! He's cool.
