Jesse Makkonen does it again. Distraint 2 continues where the original game left off and keeps the moody presentation and excellent storytelling going. The gameplay doesn't quite live up to the story but when the story is this good, we're happy to let that slide and just enjoy it.

Ultimately, though, Distraint 2 doesn’t offer much that you couldn’t have gotten out of the first game. If you missed that first game, then that may make this one a little more interesting, but if you played it and enjoyed it, be aware you’re not getting that much more out of this one.

Distraint 2 is not overall scary like others but it does have some creepy moments and it’s overall presentation is great!

The game takes place straight after Distraint 1, so if you have not played the first game then do yourself a favor and start with that. In fact, I highly recommend playing the first game and then playing the second back to back as it feels like one big game. Even tho Distraint 2 has a catch up before it starts, I would still highly recommend the back to back method.

It’s not overall a long game, I finished this game in just over 3 hours and about the same for Distraint 1. The story is the really intriguing part, you play as the same character Mr Price, who’s job is to evict people from their homes but it seems to have a telling experience on his own life which you find out in the first game and the carries on into the second.

I don’t want to spoiler this game for anyone and by going on more about the story I am sure it will. The game is presented with retro style visuals and black bars top and bottom, these are smaller then letterbox mode and really adds to the games atmosphere.

Once again if your big on indie games or games with a great story, I would recommend picking this game up.....don’t forget to get the first one too!
