    One of the most exquisite world-building exercises ever. Each level is varied and crafted, offering multiple ways to solve or escape or kill your way out. This and Deus Ex Mankind Divided were both such amazing open worlds. I enjoyed Mankind Divided's graphics and controls better, but Dishonored 2 had the better levels and world building. Both amazing.

    The art direction in this game is mind blowing, the most stylized game ever made. If they were to hire Arcane to design Elder Scrolls 6, it would be the best game ever made. The graphics are super-realistic and gorgeous, though there are a few odd hiccups.     I have to say I'm loving this game. The graphics are beautiful the atmosphere is amazing and your options for tackling each challenge are endless. I loved the first one but this has definitely raised the bar. Quite surprised to hear it hasn't sold well (((( hope this doesn't become Arkanes Darksiders 2! Come on people support these smaller studios with their quality games otherwiseI have to say I'm loving this game.     I did not enjoy the first dishonored so much. Just played it through. Now when I have the patience to try different kind of approaches it feels great. It's not a game to just play fastly through. You have to enjoy and play in a way that makes you comfortable. It's easy to complete the game without really putting effort to it, but when you do put effort and play it without hesitation, it'sI did not enjoy the first dishonored so much.     Dishonored 2 is a first person exploration stealth game at heart, although you can play it as an all out attack FPS shooter too. For me, I really enjoyed playing stealthily with no killing,    I have no idea how I let this game pass me by in 2016. This game was made by geniuses! Every level is a joy to explore, with multiple ways to achieve your objective with various choices to make.

    Dishonored 2 is a first person exploration stealth game at heart, although you can play it as an all out attack FPS shooter too. For me, I really enjoyed playing stealthily with no killing, exploring every inch of each level, listening to every conversation, talking to every NPC, doing every side activity, reading every lore entry, book, letter I could find. The powers I used playing as Emily were so different and unique than what I remembered last playing as Corvo in Dishonored 1.

    Story wise, Dishonored 2 excels in world building and immersion if you take the time to read every lore entry, speak to all NPCs, and piece together the information. If you decide not to do any of these, the main plot is pretty straightforward and simple to follow, not requiring much knowledge of the previous game or the current optional world lore. It allows you to tailor your own narrative experience. I highly recommend taking your time and just lose yourself in the beautiful world of Karnaca.

    Graphics are astounding! Hugely improved from Dishonored 1, with everything so intricately designed with a high level of detail. Character faces take on a unique artstyle that will stand the test of time, not going for realism like Uncharted or Horizon but instead a style unique to Arkane studios.

    Two specific missions sealed this game for me. You will be mindblown by the genius in design, creativity and innovation of these two levels. I was constantly saying in my head how I absolutely love this game when I was exploring and experiencing the crazy awesomeness of those two levels. I can't believe I missed this game in 2016. I regret not buying the Collector's Edition, that's how enamored and impressed I am by Dishonored 2 in 2018.

    If you love games like Bioshock and Deus Ex, play this NOW! Those 2 missions in Dishonoree 2, for me, surpassed anything from any FPS game I've ever played.

    Better than the first.. There are so many improvements, with the core gameplay concept being the same. What worked the first time is still here with everything else being bigger and better. I love the freedom. There are very few games like Dishonored, it has hidden secrets in every nook and cranny of it's beautifully realized steampunk city. I just got platinum trophy and I can tell you: Dishonored 2 is one of the best games of this generation... a work of art in design, sound, story/lore, AI and complex gameplay.     Awesome graphics, incredible AI.
    The story was interesting and the gameplay was perfect.
    Took what was great about Dishonored and built on it.
    It was amazing to be able to delve into the world once again and discover more about the lore, history and culture of the empire.

After a coup by Delilah Copperson it is your decision to chose either Corvo or Emily to be the playable character. Dishonored 2 continued were the prequel stopped as best stealth game in years. The setting is dark and matured. It has also a better story than the prequel. It is full of reveals, plots, twists and the old and new characters never fail to deliver. Fans / players of the prequel know Delilah Copperson and will be puzzled how this could be happened as she should be neutralized (Handled in DLC for Dishonored). It is a tough and intense ride to defeat the traitors. The returning old characters that I wont spoil work well. They have also developed during the years that have past and have relatable personalities / motives. For the new ones I think Kirin Jindosh, Aramis Stilton and the Duke of Serkanos (he counts twice ;-) are great additions to the cast and lore. As in the prequel based on your approach / decisions it gets even darker /more hopeless later on. If you kill many guards in one level then the next level will be guarded heavier with more guards (There are also other changes which I won't spoil). It is possible to solve the game without killing anyone or ever get detected. Lets start with the abilities. Again the Outsider a being who is existing between realms and worshiped by some as god and seen by others as evil pagan demon gives you a choice to receive his blessing in form of supernatural abilities (and a mark). You can of cause refuse but I think the abilities are too fun and awesome to avoid. Both Corvo and Emily have unique abilities so you can replay the game with the other one for a different experience. Because Corvos abilities are close to his in Dishonored 1 I favored Emily. The variety is great as there are abilities for stealth, manipulation and fighting. You can learn or upgrade your abilities during the game after reaching special locations. They improve the levels / environments. Like in the prequel the variety in the levels is remarkable. Most times there are multiple ways or approaches for a task. When I replayed a level I often find alternative ways or set things in motion that even change the outcomes. Here in this games are 2 masterpieces with Jindosh mansion he specially created as challenge for intruders or Stiltons mansion with 4th dimensional gameplay (Keep thinking hard what is possible as you can make mayor changes here if you grasp the possibilities correctly). There are some sidequests added to the game atop on collecting valuables, charms (give small bonuses), blueprints, lore and ability points. This variety and the multiple approaches give a lot of replay value. The graphics look great as they have a special art style for the world and characters. I liked that style as it enhances the game. Overall this is a great game that surpasses its predecessor. There is so much to explore, abilities to test / use and different paths to take. An easy recommendation for lovers of stealth games.… Expand

    Support this game. It's fantastic. For fans of deus ex, bioshock, and half life. A huge breath of fresh air for those looking for that unique experience. So much choice in how you complete missions.

    After the bug fixes with a patch this sequel exceeds the original in every aspect.Better graphics,gamplay and story along with 2 completely different playable protaganists give Dishonered 2 more replay value then almost every triple A title this year.And this time around I didnt feel pushed to play the game in any specific way.I felt that playing stealthily was alot more rewarding then theAfter the bug fixes with a patch this sequel exceeds the original in every aspect.Better graphics,gamplay and story along with 2 completely different playable protaganists give Dishonered 2 more replay value then almost every triple A title this year.And this time around I didnt feel pushed to play the game in any specific way.I felt that playing stealthily was alot more rewarding then the first entry but i never felt that i was playing wrong or was being punished when i played a full on assault playthrough.Also there are several ending for every playstyle for both characters which really drive you toward a second,third or even forth playthrough and in all the chaos or silence of each level,even on my forth run,I reimagined every situation and experienced different outcomes every single time.Dishonored 2 also contains some of the best level design I have ever seen with the likes of the amazing and masterfully thought out Clockwork Mansion level being among my all time favorites.Dishonored 2 truly is a masterpiece in almost every ascpect!!!     Expertly created environments, a new fantastic set of powers, rich NPC dialogue, and memorable villains; Dishonored 2 takes what made the first game fun and improves on it in every way. You can sneak through and take hours on one level, finding every hidden nook and cranny. Or shoot, snipe, and dismember your way through, leaving a pile of bodies in your path. The choice is yours.

    Dishonored 2 took me into this strange beautiful world where I was left with the desire to know its every little secret. This is the type of game worth going for a platinum trophy. It's that interesting.

    The game was great people complaining about the game not going to 60fps. TBH i bet their pc,s cant even reach 60 anyways. The new powers from Emily are an amazing addition. Even though corvo was in the last game with the voice actors and new upgrade trees it definitely freshens him up. The missions are masterful. They are so dense and vibrant.     If you are a fan of the original game or stealth games in general, then you owe it to yourself to pick up Dishonored 2. It improves on everything the original did, and adds new ways to play the game through the addition of a new playable character and stat tracking for each mission and playthrough as well as overall. With masterful level design, rich characters, and endless gameplay variety, Dishonored 2 easily earns it's place as one of the best of 2016.

    This is just so extraordinary game! Can’t get enough of it, I enjoy every moment in this masterpiece so much. Graphics aren’t top notch, but stylization and creative art is at top level for me. This is GOTY in my humble opinion. I am explorative type of player, I have already 7 hours of gameplay and just 2 missions completed. If you love the prequel, this is a must have.

    I'm a big fan of the first game and have got everything I expected from the sequel and even more. Storyline is amazing, level design makes this game one of the most beautiful.

    The first Dishonored    This game has had a less than stellar launch on PC. However, with my GTX 1070 and i7-4790k, I can play on Very High to Ultra settings with minimal issues. Also, for those of you that do have problems, the game likes to set its priority to low after each loading screen, so changing it to normal or above should do the trick until there's a patch. Now, onto the review.

    The first Dishonored is my favorite game of all time. Obviously, I was anxious for the day to come where I could reprise my role as Royal Protector Corvo Attano, or I could possess the role of Empress Emily Kaldwin, who has a slew of new abilities. As of now, I am around 10 hours into my playthrough as Emily and I must say that this is exactly what I expected from this sequel. Of course, there are multiple ways of reaching your target and also multiple ways to take down your target. Each power now has a more in-depth upgrade tree in which you can allow Corvo's Blink to be redirective, as Daud's was in the Knife of Dunwall and the Brigmore Witches, or you can upgrade Emily's Doppleganger ability to create copies of yourself that will fight for you.

    A new feature that I was very excited for was Bonecharm Crafting. This works by sacrificing a bone charm's trait so that you will be able to create a single bone charm with multiple traits taken from a sacrificed charm. You can create a single charm with two, three, or four traits, however, corrupted charms have made a reappearance from Daud's DLC. The more traits you add onto a crafted bone charm, the more likely it will be come corrupted and apply a negative attribute along with the traits you applied to it.

    I don't know much about graphics, but I can tell you that this game's graphics are outstanding. I will occasionally stop and stare at the scenery, which will sometimes appear as a beautiful painting. The art style has remained the same and it helps with its look that much more.

    There are new enemies, such as the Nest Keepers and the Clockwork Soldiers that will help gameplay from feeling repetitive. There are new faces, as well as old ones. There are new powers that can be heavily upgraded (if you can find the resources to do so), and old ones with new attributes to be added onto them. There's an entirely new system for bone charms that can be ignored if you do not care for corrupted charms. There are new places to explore, and there are old, but familiar ones that make this sequel feel that much more like Dishonored.

    This game has gotten a lot of criticism for its performance, but looking past this inconvenience, Dishonored 2 is yet another masterpiece created by the masterminds at Arkane Studios. In my opinion, Dishonored 2 is hands-down my Game of the Year and I would recommend this piece of art to each and every one of you.    … Expand

    Dishonored was already a very good and surprising video game, but Dishonored 2 is better than the former in absolutely everything, and sometimes by far. So much so, that I cannot remember a sequel so much better than the first game, even when this one is a high quality game as well.     The soundtrack is as epic as the first Dishonored's, but there are traveling duos across Karnaca that truly gild the lily. The "Brigmore Lullaby" is as good as "The Drunken Whaler", and so is the song of the credits.

    In terms of level-building, Dishonored 2 has set an example of how to create solid and not particularly large levels while offering a huge number of possibilities (both in high and in low chaos, which everything they imply by separate). The movements are now smoother, there are a significant quantity of new powers and combat options and, more importantly, you can play either with Emily or Corvo (which does make a difference, especially regarding the magic powers).

    Last but not least, the artistic design of settings and the storyline are simply top quality. I do not recall a game with so many text excerpts, audiographs, posters, hidden places to be discovered, etc. distributed across the nine missions. It is impossible to see/read everything with just one playthrough. The storyline unfolds gradually and is perfectly connected to the events that occured in the previous Dishonored (DLC included).

    Unlike the first Dishonored, which I disliked at some points, I can say nothing negative about Dishonored 2. It is spherical, almost flawless; one of the five best games I have ever played, as I said above. Highly recommendable.    … Expand

    Outstanding stealth/action game that hits all the right notes. Great gameplay with superb controls coupled with an interesting and engaging story gives you one of the best games of 2016. If you have not picked this up yet, you are missing out.

    This is an EXCELLENT game!! I do not know what the problem is that others are having. I play on my laptop and PC with no problems. I have an overclocked 2.6 Ghz (now 3.2) and a Gforce 960 video card. 16G DDR3 ram. NO problems. My laptop is AZSUS and it's a gaming laptop. no problems on that system either.

I play on my laptop and PC with no problems. I have an overclocked 2.6 Ghz (now 3.2) and a Gforce 960 video card. 16G DDR3 ram. NO problems. My laptop is AZSUS and it's a gaming laptop. no problems on that system either.
    My father's laptop however, I can't play the game on. It lags. The mouse is very slow and unsteady. So I've given up on that system. I think the problem lies in the fact that you need to have a supported graphics card. I play everything on high except shadow detail and other things like that and have no problems.
    The game itself is awesome!! The graphics are steller, the AI is engaging and can be challenging at times. The different combat elements are interesting and never boring. I've found a bone charm called Seperation Trauma which renders your possessed humans and dogs unconscious when you leave the host. AWESOME! Love chaining from one host to another rendering them unconscious, saves on sleep darts. There are so many different ways to eliminate threats either killing or unconscious that it is never boring. Looking for loot and other items is challenging but fun. I don't see why the metascore is not higher on this game, it is truly a winner and a stellar game.    … Expand

    I loved the first game cause of its story and well design, the way players could make their own custom routes around levels. The sequel refines all of this and makes it better also with more content such as 2 playable characters flesh and steel and overall story.

    Dishonored 2 is the best game I’ve ever played probably the best game I’ll ever play. It was the first game I had played in years that immersed me so much that I forgot anything outside of the game world existed while playing it. It’s a sequel to Dishonored 1: a first person stealth-action game and an immersive sim set in a 19th century setting which is also one of my all time favourites.Dishonored 2 is the best game I’ve ever played probably the best game I’ll ever play. It was the first game I had played in years that immersed me so much that I forgot anything outside of the game world existed while playing it. It’s a sequel to Dishonored 1: a first person stealth-action game and an immersive sim set in a 19th century setting which is also one of my all time favourites. Dishonored 2 is better than Dishonored 1 in every single way apart from the story because if you’ve played Dishonored 1’s DLCs then no.2’s story can be quite underwhelming. The story is still great but not quite as good as the first game’s story though.

    What I loved about the first game is how much freedom you get in choosing how to play the game. The levels are so ridiculously detailed letting you progress through them a million different ways (i.e. Go through the front door or scout the building exterior and look for a secret entrance or teleport to higher ground and go through an open window or even possess a freaking rat and crawl through the ventilation system). There was new things I learnt about each level even when playing them for the 3rd time. Dishonored 2 expands on this because the level design is somehow even more complex and detailed than Dishonored 1’s level design which shouldn’t have been possible so you can still play the game however you want but with even more freedom and with more parts of each level to explore.

    (Feel free to skip this section if you’ve already played Dishonored 1) If you haven’t played Dishonored 1 and want to know what the gameplay is like, here is my breakdown of the first game’s gameplay: The stealth gameplay is as good as it gets because it has the best level design in all of gaming imo and it’s designed to facilitate the stealth gameplay (hiding spots, places to dump bodies, etc). The AI of the enemies is really good compared to most other stealth games because the guards can become hostile from seeing you very easily and from many angles; they aren’t retards like in many other stealth games, especially on higher difficulties. It also lets you complete the game non lethally and without ever getting detected. Not to mention it’s amazing melee combat system which is brutal and lets you play the game as a full blown action-packed hack and slash game. Because of it, doing front up assaults on all enemies is as fun of a playstyle as playing stealthily and the powers/tools the game gives you make it a fully viable playstyle. You can also get really creative with the powers/tools the game gives you (check out StealthGamerBR’s Dishonored videos on Youtube).

    Dishonored 2 has the the same gameplay as Dishonored 1 but with a bunch of mechanical tweaks and some different enemy types that you get introduced to later on. Since Emily is a playable character, you get completely different power sets if you choose to play as her which is way better than Corvo’s power set in my opinion because they cater to stealth more than combat and because they’re just so damn cool. (E.g. A domino power that links the fate of enemies so if you kill one or knock one out, the rest will follow simultaneously).

    The no.1 difference between Dishonored 1 and 2 is in the art style and atmosphere because it’s set in Karnaca instead of Dunwall (there are still a couple of missions in Dunwall though). The new art style is based off of Southern Europe and Karnaca is a beautiful city compared to the grimy and dirty Dunwall. It has really cool visuals, architecture and culture which is a breath of fresh air after leaving Dunwall. The atmosphere progressively gets creepier and eerier towards the end of the game to take you out of your comfort zone and there are a couple of levels which are creepy af and borderline horror. Just like the first game, each level has different iterations of the game’s art style. Whether you’ll like this change is down to personal preference but I absolutely loved the art style in no.2 to bits. It gave me such strong nostalgia always making me want to play the game again when I hadn’t played it in a while and imo there’s just no better setting to be completely immersed in. Check gameplay out to see how it’s different.

    I can fanboy over it all day but you probably won’t know if you’ll like it until you try it out because it’s such a unique game.    … Expand

You can play as either Corvo or Emily and both have their own supernatural abilities so playing both is refreshing. The graphics are perfect and fit in with the style of the game.     Incredibly underrated nowadays. After the patches and fixes, this game is better than the first Dishonored in every possible way except story, which wasn't great in the first game to begin with. D2 has better gameplay, level design, more non-lethal options and powers than its predecessor. If you're a fan of the first Dishonored, you'll adore this one.

Of course this game like the previous follows every known steampunk work back to Jules Verne yet adds the punk spirit to the story so it isn't just another simple family adventure or Disneyfied story. So far there hasn't been any sexuality (like the golden cat in the first game) but there is plenty of violence, crude characters, uses of drug or alcohol and clear attempts at villains spewing propaganda (which is considered something only adults can handle since understanding the difference between bubble perspective and reality isn't something adolescence is equipped for). In some ways the story struck me between Jessamine and Delilah as a Lily vs. Petunia in the Harry Potter novels style rivalry only Petunia didn't orchestrate the darkness in Harry's life as Delilah did for Dunwall. Still one cannot deny the amount of Steampunk in Dishonored 2 which makes it now only right that CDProjektRed now has to make a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, a sort of continuum of where the city left off and maybe a character who attempts to diffuse another big war. Anyway, different topic, different game. I had a lot more fun with the non-lethal playthrough though the clockwork mansion had one upped a simple geek like me as math isn't my forte. Again if I see not one brothel or courtesan or any other mentions of an orgy throughout the game I'll call it an accomplishment, the most M for mature this game gets is the violence and practically being as violent as any horror or Mortal Kombat game, then again not every R Rated movie or M Rated game has to have sex to merit the rating!!! It's all about context here and the context so far has largely been squeeky clean apart from the violence and otherwise.… Expand

    Level designs are absolutely top notch allowing for both powered & unpowered traversal of the map, densely packed with alternate routes and hidden treasures. Without getting into spoilers, some of the levels are absolutely fascinating with their unique aspects (shifting level design, multiple factions, natural phenomena that influence perception).

    The addition on an entirely new playable character with unique abilities adds a whole depth of replayability. The powers are interesting and diverse, and better balanced and allow for more engaging non-lethal gameplay with Mesmerize and Domino. The additional enemy types test your full repertoire and have unique combat patterns and ways to approach handling them.

    If you've played Dishonored, it's more of the same. Emily offers a new host of powers, but I prefer Corvo's. They're more fun and intuitive.

    I felt the level design of the original was also more fun. Overall, I actually think the game is better than the original.

    What an amazing experience. The first game still holds a special place in my heart. But this one was on a whole new level.

    Don't take it too seriously. Go for fun, which in this case means being as flash and flamboyant as possible when dispatching the opposition.

    I have bought this game just because i saw the ability to stop time. i can say that i finished the game almost twice, and it is very enjoyable. not just because of that. the gameplay feels good and the graphics are amazing for the year this game was made. love it

    Significantly more difficult than the first game. The gameplay and graphics are hugely improved, as is the story. Definitely recommend it if you enjoyed the first Dishonored.

    A great, flexible game with a lot of replayability. Do you want to be a vicious murderer killing everyone in your path? Or do you want to be a silent rogue, sneaking through levels without touching a single enemy? Very fun.

    This one is the best game of all the Dishonored games, it´s pretty cool and this game will likely stay printed in your mind for years since it´s so nostalgic and amazing

    As a story, it may well be lacking, but as a collection of expertly crafted play spaces where design and mechanics reinforce and respond to your agency in myriad delightful and engaging ways, Dishonored 2 is pure magic.
