    Slide-scrolling- check, Cyberpunk RPG/fighting/ - check, deep interaction and immersive story - check, and a new fledging game company first major release - priceless. Dreadlock ran their Kickstarter campaign quite well and right from the start they built a very different kind of game. The 2D scrolling is smooth and yet you can almost 'see' the 3D interaction with the things , in theSlide-scrolling- check, Cyberpunk RPG/fighting/ - check, deep interaction and immersive story - check, and a new fledging game company first major release - priceless. Dreadlock ran their Kickstarter campaign quite well and right from the start they built a very different kind of game. The 2D scrolling is smooth and yet you can almost 'see' the 3D interaction with the things , in the places you visit and in the characters you meet or fight or "stealth" your way through the world of Dex. Check it out and become one with a quite interesting and a rewarding gaming experience.… Expand

    This game is good but has some bugs and long loading times. Despite those problems it makes me wanna be patient and keep playing. And suprisingly it rewards me with a nice RPG experience, great characters and methodical gameplay. So as long as it does that, the bugs doesn't bother me more then they are is triple A games like Ubisoft's games.     Dex is a 2-D side-scrolling sci-fi RPG.

    Pros: * I was able to determine quite quickly that I didn't like Dex. * The beginning of the story seems intriguing. I wasn't motivated to play too far into the game, so I can't comment on how it evolves. * The skills seem interesting, I suppose. Cons: * The voice acting is awful. * The dialogue is awful. * The controls are unintuitive,    Dex is a 2-D side-scrolling sci-fi RPG.

    Pros:
    * I was able to determine quite quickly that I didn't like Dex.
    * The beginning of the story seems intriguing. I wasn't motivated to play too far into the game, so I can't comment on how it evolves.
    * The skills seem interesting, I suppose.

    Cons:
    * The voice acting is awful.
    * The dialogue is awful.
    * The controls are unintuitive, and can't be re-mapped.
    * Sometimes, it looks like there's a floor to walk on when there really isn't, resulting in rather frustrating deaths.

    I'm tired of the game after just a few hours. I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone.    … Expand

    Excellent cyber punk RPG. Some of the best elements of games like Scanner, Rise of the Dragon and Shadowrun, yet unlike anything else. Perfect music, mood and atmosphere. It may take awhile to get used to, but well worth it.

    As a person from the 80s and having played allot of games, starting with C64 and Amiga, I certainly enjoyed this journey back in time. It reminded me allot of those pixel side-scroller kinda bulky games, not perfect but very charming. Development is not a couple of 100 people but a handful of talented geeks ... perfect!

    So, Dex is VERY charming, has a good story, customization of    As a person from the 80s and having played allot of games, starting with C64 and Amiga, I certainly enjoyed this journey back in time. It reminded me allot of those pixel side-scroller kinda bulky games, not perfect but very charming. Development is not a couple of 100 people but a handful of talented geeks ... perfect!

    So, Dex is VERY charming, has a good story, customization of character and playstyle and a wonderful atmosphere while playing. Of course it's an Indi-Game and the size ain't big with tons of explosions, but who cares. I'm sure not everybody likes it, but this happens with all things that have a special personal touch to it and the game itself runs flawless, without any crashes...!

    So, go and watch some Videos about Dex and decide by yourself - what you see is what you get, with all the retro-magic in modern times. I hope I will see Dex again in a second journey. ;)    … Expand

    Retro cyberpunk RPG platformer. Interesting idea and style, decent dubbing and music… but with gameplay it's been weaker. The technical issues also don’t help with playability. [Issue#266]

    Although a lot could be improved in Dex, nearly everything is good and solid. With the exception of the hacking, you'll have a lot of fun running and fighting your way across the map, even if you don't always know where you are and where you should be.

    Dex: Enhanced Edition isn’t perfect. It’s a love letter to not only classic sci-fi but also classic 90’s RPG/adventure games. Where Dex falls short is the sum of its parts; so many gameplay elements have been incorporated in, but not one of them stand out as excellent.
