Destiny will always remain a disappointment for me; the four year plan of its construction and the three year experience since its launch has always had the best to craft a wonderful and amazing game, but fails to do this overall in a way that feels honest and good. As a recurring player in its universe and culture, it can have truly awful and horrendous systems that damning to the game, but also have a collection of good moments that can make the experience worthwhile. The music, graphics, and combat are always top-notch, but the loot system, grinding nature of progression, foolish implementation of a pvp system, subpar to downright awful story and storytelling and sluggish support to additions that should have been at launch and more bring the entire game down.
There is hope that the sequel could perhaps be FAR better than the overall package of this package, but with as much time spent and frustration I have had with it, Destiny's entirety is just lacking overall quality to engage players meaningfully and just doesn't deliver on its promises that was set out from the get go. It is perhaps the most ambitious game I have ever played and I really think the concept of Destiny is quite brilliant, but the laziness and greed of the devs and publisher just makes it more and more a pipe dream than a possibility.… Expand
