    I think at this point everyone knows about Kojima's love for cinematics in video games. We've seen him come forth before the game came out that it won't be to everyone's liking, and that kind of honesty from a video game developer in 2019 is scarce, and for that fact alone I think the game is worth picking up.

    In a nutshell, if you're the kind of gamer that enjoys slow-burners, amazing    I think at this point everyone knows about Kojima's love for cinematics in video games. We've seen him come forth before the game came out that it won't be to everyone's liking, and that kind of honesty from a video game developer in 2019 is scarce, and for that fact alone I think the game is worth picking up.


    In a nutshell, if you're the kind of gamer that enjoys slow-burners, amazing cinematics and strong story telling, and don't mind some of the repetitive gameplay (which, personally so far, it doesn't seem to affect my enjoyment), then you should definitely give this game a try!    … Expand

    Tecnicamente è il gioco con la grafica più sbalorditiva, nessuno bug (e scusate se è poco) storia bellissima... e un gameplay originale.

    I like the story even though it may be confusing at times, but there is an explanation to why it's there or why it isn't. Sure this game is grindy but it's fun carrying out orders. For me anyway. Love this game, hope people can try to understand it a little better.

    Creo que la gente que no lo valora es porque lo ve como un accion y aventura pero no lo es y tampoco lo pretende ser, si hay accion pero no esta para dificultarte el camino sino para hacerte perder tiempo y plantearte si merece la pena pasar o rodear el campamento.
    La historia no es la mejor pero se adapta perfectamente al juego y si te paras a pensar y    Este juego me a atrapado.

    Brilliant game. Anyone with a bit of patience will see the the quality gameplay and the long term rewards. The multiplayer/shared universe element is an added bonus. Beautiful and complex, Death Stranding is a Kojima game through and through with his trademark storytelling and humour. Loving it so far

    Если вас для вас как и для меня лучшие игры Jorney и Shadow of the Colossus игра определенно должна вам понрвится, неспешная медитаивная, атмосферная. Сам уже наиграл 60ч. а только в 4 главе, и немогу отлипнуть.

    Beyond a breath of fresh air. Death Stranding revitalizes what it is to game. With brilliant graphics, vibrant music, and intuitive controls one is on a precipice to experience the most unique deeply conceptualized world. In a era of games where quality is high but individuality is low Death Stranding came to the rescue.

    Absolutely perfect. Constant rewarding gameplay with a story and characters that are the best you can get. Pretty much no load times and no menu lag. Was bug free for me. Excellent job.

    This Game is just great. The atmosphere, the soundtrack and graphics were superb. The story was a little hard to follow at times but also really solid. The gameplay loop was addicting to me. It just isn‘t for everyone.

    Death Stranding is the latest game from Hideo Kojima and its safe to say that its his most divisive game yet. While many people criticize the game for being a repetitive and tedious chore of a game, i actually quite enjoyed the game from time to time, even when its boring. The gameplay largely involves of walking from point A to point B, and just from that alone, i can see why alot ofDeath Stranding is the latest game from Hideo Kojima and its safe to say that its his most divisive game yet. While many people criticize the game for being a repetitive and tedious chore of a game, i actually quite enjoyed the game from time to time, even when its boring. The gameplay largely involves of walking from point A to point B, and just from that alone, i can see why alot of people dont like the game. But even then, i just got attached to the gameplay loop and it actually got pretty addicting, the reason being that its probably because of the risk and reward that the game offers.

    The open world and the traversal kinda reminded me of Breath Of The Wild which is kinda weird seeing that DS's open world is pretty barren compared to BOTW's, but i think thats why i really like it, but i probably wouldnt have liked the open world or hell, the game as a whole as much if it werent for the online system that the game has. In my opinion, this is an online system done really well for a single-player focused game. Its pretty similiar to the online system of Dark Souls but its more akin to Nier: Automata in my opinion, where players can help each other by donating their items for other players or create structures together so everybody can use it. Its actually a pretty good system once you understand how it works.

    Now, since this is a Kojima game, we of course have to talk about the story. From the moment this game was announced back in 2016, the story was what intrigued me the most, and well what do i think of it? Well after years of waiting, In my opinion, the story of Death Stranding is just not as good as Kojima's previous works. Its better than MGS V that's for sure, but when comparing it to Mgs 1, 2, 3, and even 4 to a certain extent, there's just something missing that i'm not really sure what it is. That being said though, i still like the story as a whole when it introduces new and interesting concepts just not when its being overly pretentious at times. Though if you are currently playing the game, i highly suggest you complete it, even if you dont like the gameplay loop and the earlier story segments because the game and the story in particular really gets bettter towards the end and around the 20-ish hour mark is where the story got really interesting in my opinion.

    One last thing i wanna mention in this review is the soundtrack, which is probably the best thing about the game in my opinion besides the visuals. There are some really great moments in the game that i dont wanna spoil that wouldn't have work as good if the music werent there. From the OST's to the songs from Low Roar, it's really awesome and it adds so much to the game's atmosphere.

    So to round up this review, Death Stranding is a game that i really enjoyed even with its faults. The story is great even though its obnoxiously pretentious at times. The gameplay loop, while boring at times, can be pretty addicting thanks to its world design and online system. The visuals are really great and can be mesmerizing even though there's no day-night cycle which is a a shame. And the soundtrack is the best that i've heard all year. I really wanted to gave this game a 9 or hell it could even be a 10 at some point, but there's just quite a few problems holding it back from being a 9 or a 10, which is why i'm giving this an 8. i wanted to give it an 8.5 but unfortunately metacritic doesnt allow decimal review user scores.    … Expand

    I would think this is a 9/10 piece. But I love this game so much that when I see some reviews giving 0/10 because of not fully understand the mechanism of the game, I decide to change the score to 10/10. It would just be too pity if this unique game is underrated because of such prejudice review. Dead stranding did a very good job on searching the possibility of the genre of games whichI would think this is a 9/10 piece.     Death Stranding is a slow game. If you love scenery and adventure, this is it. The concept of the game and the science that goes behind it is very interesting and hard to wrap your head around. I have ran into little to none issues in this game and I believe this game is polished well. My hopes were high on this one and I was very satisfied. Muchos dicen "pero si es ir del punto A al punto B" pero en Death Stranding no importa ni el punto A ni el punto B, sino, lo que hay entre ambos puntos... puedes hacer el recorrido de muchas formas distintas (faciles o dificiles) yHay que ser objetivo y reconocer que tanto la música, la gráfica y la historia son un 10/10, respecto a la jugabilidad es innovadora, es dinámica y divertida. Muchos dicen "pero si es ir del punto A al punto B" pero en Death Stranding no importa ni el punto A ni el punto B, sino, lo que hay entre ambos puntos... puedes hacer el recorrido de muchas formas distintas (faciles o dificiles) y realmente el sistema online potencia la travesía de una muy buena forma. Si se analiza este juego podría caer dentro de la categoría simulador (si..walking simulator, aunque trekking simulator es mas apropiado) y como todo simulador requiere paciencia, tranquilidad, estudio, preparación y práctica para lograr mejorar. Finalmente cuando logras entregar la carga de la misión y todas las cargas que te atreviste a recoger durante el trayecto te sientes realizado y mas aún cuando sabes que hay mas jugadores haciendo lo mismo y de alguna u otra forma hiciste su trayecto un poco mas fácil dejandoles una ayudita.

    Brillante y Hermoso.

    PD: Les recuerdo que en juegos como League of Legends, Fornite, Call Of duty, FIFA, etc haces siempre lo mismo una y otra vez... no muy alejado de ir de un punto A a un punto B 20 veces.    … Expand

    Dont believe all these 0-3, many of these reviews come fron toxic fanboys. For example, many of them come from the fans of the spanish youtuber Saselandia, a rabid anti-Sony, toxic youber, who has been rallying agains the game from years, and his equally toxic fans arre swarming many spanish forums and metacritic reviews in order to give the game a bad rep.

    Death Stranding é um jogo complexo, com um enredo único. E direi o que todos dizem: Ele não é um jogo pra todos. Um fã de FIFA ou Call of Duty não vai gostar desse jogo. Death Stranding te desafia, tem uma duração exacerbadamente longa. Mas ainda sim, é um dos melhores jogos da geração e merece todo reconhecimento possível. Hideo Kojima acertou mais uma vez.

Maybe even the capital "M" would be redundant. But alas, someone arbitrarily decided to put a minimum cap of characters on publishable reviews. And so here we are. Really, the person who put in the minimum charMasterpiece. A masterpiece. An exercise in minimalism, elegancy and beauty.     I expected a lot from this game and I got even more. Dont judge this game based on gameplay you see, you have to TRY it yourself, trust me it is much better to play than to watch. It starts in post apocalyptic USA, and survivors live in a desolated communities. Your job is to brave harsh envoirment, make your way through enemies, and Beached Things (BTs), and connect people and deliverI expected a lot from this game and I got even more. Dont judge this game based on gameplay you see, you have to TRY it yourself, trust me it is much better to play than to watch. It starts in post apocalyptic USA, and survivors live in a desolated communities. Your job is to brave harsh envoirment, make your way through enemies, and Beached Things (BTs), and connect people and deliver them goods so they can survive. Your job as a porter is maybe most important one in this USA. Story is great, graphics are best I seen so far (also it runs really good), music is astounding, and gameplay is really fun, it is a lot of walking, but it is GOOD walking and there is purpose in defeating hill or river. All the time you achieve small and big victories by defeating envoirment and making delieveris. Online component is really fun, you can help a lot of people and they can help you, and trust me it is better when you help them

    It’s a slow burn game, and it’s different from anything seen before. Sometime I hate this game but then it gives me something super satisfying to make me forgive it. I don’t know what I expected, but this certainly wasn’t it.. but I am enjoying it?

    Death Stranding is a serene strategic, world building game. Through the delivery of desperately desired cargo, Sam Bridges connects a devastated and fractured world caused by what is called, The Death Stranding. This game contains the same elements that you will find in most movies and television programs. The actors take their jobs very seriously by giving their best efforts in order to make the world around you, the player, a sense of urgency and importance. This is very much a game about a man who makes deliveries. Those deliveries, one by one, make the world whole. The further in you go, the more the game has to offer to you. Walking turns to running, running turns into a motorcycle. The empty land becomes filled. Filled with trails, ladders, bridges, and more. Things you did not build will help you along the way; making your trek possible. You thank other players who have come before you, making a passage for you. Sometimes to climb, sometimes to rappel down. You are a pathfinder. you make a way for people to follow and you contribute to the creation of the new world.

    Enemies become more and more of a threat - sneaking turns into battles. You begin to hunt the MULEs, you begin to hunt BTs.

    People who claim that this game is monotonous did not play this game. People who rate this game lower than 4, did not play this game. Death Stranding has a massive map and tons of enemies. I loved it but I can't deny I was frustrated at the UI, the controls were clunky at times (overall it was still polished), and the story was incredibly interesting but I felt was executed in lackluster way. Still, I had an amazing time playing this game. It was fun and definitely more memorable than most games I've played this gen. Plus there are no loot boxes orGenuinely unique game! I loved it but I can't deny I was frustrated at the UI, the controls were clunky at times (overall it was still polished), and the story was incredibly interesting but I felt was executed in lackluster way. Still, I had an amazing time playing this game. It was fun and definitely more memorable than most games I've played this gen. Plus there are no loot boxes or microtransactions that hinder the experience (exception of the monster energy and TV show, but I'd take that any day over lb and mtx). Give it a shot if you find it interesting, I found it a worthwhile journey!… Expand

    Un juego increíble, del cual, sinceramente no esperaba nada, lucía aburrido e inclusive me estaba arrepintiendo de haberlo reservado, sin embargo vaya que es increíble, su mundo, su historia, todo es simplemente épico, salvó pequeños detalles creo que es uno, si no es que mi juego favorito en PS4.

    SInce the first moment i played this game, it described itself as a game to make connections with other people, and that´s what i have been doing all the time. The game is not only about going from point a to point b, it is about developing a connection between players.

    Kojima really managed to capture the feeling of vastness and exploration in Deathstranding. The game also has many online co op features that made it a very engaging game as you feel you are playing with many other players. It feels like a new approach to gaming I can understand that it isn't for everyone.

    Mega Spiel am Anfang hatte ich das kaum auf dem Schirm. War mehr eine spontane Idee und mittlerweile hab ich stolze 20-30 h schon reingesteckt. Es ist definitiv mal was anderes. Mir macht es Spaß mir mein eigenen Weg zum Ziel zu suchen, die Story war anfangs etwas verwirrend doch mit der Zeit klärt sich vieles auf bin gespannt was noch kommt

    The story is bizarre and it explains little at first but still makes no sense even when you do understand it a bit more. The whole thing feels like an incredibly boring take on a metal gear solid. I just find it so very very boring indeed and the story so weird that it holds little interest to me after 15 hours or so trying to like it.

    Great graphics, a lot of good actors, kind of ok story, but the game play and the interface is really bad. Is a lot about walking, trying to hide and that's it. Texts are really tiny and there's a lot to read because for a walking game it have a lot of weird mechanism

    This game really is sub par. If you're in your 30s and the time to play games is hard to come by now, I'd recommend to skip this. The story takes way, way to long to start and is mind numbingly uninteresting. Don't expect any fireworks. It does have its moments though but they're far fewer than what you'd expect. How Kojima got these actors interested in this game will always be a mystery to me.

Персонажи раскрыты плохо, мотивация не всегда ясна, а поступки в целом вроде логичные, однако, наполнены абсолютно бездарно написанными диалогами. Единственный кто был хорошо, так это Дайхардмэн. Его раскрыли в конце, но его диалоги были наиболее живыми и реалистичными. Также оскорбляет отношение к самому игроку в игре: тебя будто считают полным идиотом, объясняя элементарные вещи по 3-4 раза, а то и больше, будто ты в первый раз не понял или не заметил какой намек, поэтому этот намек нужно обязательно обсосать со всех сторон, чтобы уж самый "одаренный" понял.
    Если же вас смущают игровые ролики, стриммы или вообще всё, что вы видели, то не стоит приобщаться к игре. Если же вас устраивает перспектива узнать весьма неплохо проработанный лор, играть в игру без интересной основной механики занимаясь душнейшим гриндом, то в целом игра может затянуть. Мне лично понравилась как реализована взаимосвязь игроков при постройки некоторых строений. Их, конечно, мало, но реально доставляет тот факт, что ты кому-то помог или кто-то тебе.     Great graphics, great voice acting, good story with a nice emotional payoff. Poor gameplay as if Kojima wanted to show off his actors and didn't concentrate on gameplay details. Its a nice idea if you look at it from a far and could be considered as 'games as art'. No replay value and not much fun to play really.

    I liked the concept of the story. It makes you think (more then I'd like some times lol) and it's not the trivial game story most are used to. It's a very different game and confusing some times. I could just "connect the dots" at the last minutes of the game. But i think it could be more explained. It seems to get a little rush on the end, but considering this is his first game I understood.
    Just don't give up of the game on the middle and keep playing (skip the secondary deliveries if you didn't enjoy this mechanics) at least to understand the story. This game is almost like a Movie, people that don't like a lot of cinematic won't like it.    … Expand

    I have to say the more balanced reviews are correct, this is a very interesting game but it absolutely is not for everyone, it's very difficult to describe to be honest, the basic gameplay is indeed take this from a to b, and repeat but it's just so much more than that. The on the fly planning, route making, stealth, combat, asset management all make it so much more than just a postman simulator.

    I've got to say it is a slow burner of a game, almost an open world puzzle if you like. I suspect if your interests are more in the twitch shooter or sport sim direction this game would be hell on earth, and that is in no way a dig at the guys that play those genre, it's a talent I don't have.

    It's possibly the most beautiful thing I've ever seen on the PS4, the controls are tight (the vehicles aside) and it's music is excellent.

    I'd recommend picking it up, but if you ain't sure just wait it out and pick it up cheap in a years time. It's worth a look at least surely?    … Expand

    Don't believe the negative reviews. This game is a masterpiece. It's kinda slow burner, but it's eventually very rewarding. Easily one of the best games ever created. I've been playing it for a day now, and I'll sure go for platinum. I don't know why some people complain about it being boring, it's merely trying to be different and bring something new to the industry.

    I give it to the game, at its core it has very good and clear ideas, but man, why so boring?! Why I have to watch cutscenes only at the beginning and a ton at the end, and between 40 hours of **** WALKING.

    Not a terrible game, It has some good points but its just so boring, i got about halfway through and decided to drop it , at the start the story was intriguing enough to keep me invested but the further I got the constant exposition dumps and unintersting characters forced me to give the rest a skip, I have no intentions of revisiting this

Я провёл в игре 45 часов, но увидел и узналС самого начала было непонятно, о чём будет игра, но при этом я её очень ждал и в целом мне она понравилась. Но я ожидал от игры больше сюжета, чем геймплея, а получил обратную ситуацию. Игру называют "симулятор ходьбы", и это совершенно верное утверждение, НО какой это симулятор ходьбы... На столько глубокой проработки ходьбы я не видел никогда. Я провёл в игре 45 часов, но увидел и узнал о механике и секретах далеко не всё, спасибо YouTube. Так же заслуживает внимания асинхронный мультиплеер. Он не только идеально ложиться на геймплей, но и на саму идею игры - объединение. И всё это в игре генерирует такие ситуации, что некоторые вылазки дарят эмоций больше, чем целые AAA-игры. Но то что в игре получилось не очень, так это сюжет. Есть логические дыры, плохо и глупо поданная экспозиция, динамика истории страдает, в начале и в конце мы больше смотрим кат-сцены, нежели играем в игру. Но это не отменяет того, что Death Stranding подарила мне уникальные эмоции, которые я никогда не получал от AAA-игр в этом поколении. Где во главе угла, в плане механики, была не самая, на первый взгляд, хорошая идея, но чертовски хорошо исполнена. Я хочу, чтобы на рынке была больше подобных игр, которые не боятся рисков. Но видно сами игроки не привыкли рисковать, о чём говорят не самые хорошие продажи и глупые отзывы от части игроков.… Expand

    surmonter et s’améliorer. Il est également question de la notion
    d’héritage. En effet le protagoniste, Sam, à la charge de corriger les
    erreurs de sa mère adoptive afin de laisser un meilleur monde à
    l’enfant qui lui est confié. Ainsi il n’est plus question de laisser à la
    prochaine génération la tâche de corriger les erreurs de la précédente
    mais bien d’offrir un meilleur avenir à celles qui suivront.
    Tout comme bien trop souvent nous avons entendu dans la bouche
    des politiciens que l’écologie est le devoir de la prochaine génération
    ce jeu nous rappelle que le monde demain n’est plus qu’à un jour si

    Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
