    You may already know that this game works for a type of gamers, and I am that type. It hit quite a lot of right notes for me, and my journey was ecstatic. It's something like a fine-dining game. If you have a fast food appetite then this one may disappoint, and there is nothing wrong with that preference. As a new father I was looking for a sophisticated game that I don't have to rush, and can have a satisfying 2 hour session daily. And DS was a perfect fit. No matter how many predictions I made, or spoilers I came across, the game kept bringing fresh surprises in every gaming session. I took a month and some to complete the main story and I feel like any quicker would ruin my experience. Now there is enough endgame exploration to stay occupied.     Very relaxing and addicting gameplay loop, not exciting in theory, but it really grows on you and you fit into the groove of the game after a while of playing. The mechanics are very refined and well designed, the Social Strand system really made me feel like I was apart of a community.     BRAVO Mr. Kojima you managed to not only creat amazing game but also cause world wide rage tantrum to toxic edgelords and troll rabble.
    Game is really great, here are facts not fanboy nonsenses but facts you can expect from this game: breathtaking graphic (thats true); amazing stylization of enemies, terrain, technology etc (thats also true); great cast (just look at those actors); smooth    BRAVO Mr. Kojima you managed to not only creat amazing game but also cause world wide rage tantrum to toxic edgelords and troll rabble.
    Game is really great, here are facts not fanboy nonsenses but facts you can expect from this game: breathtaking graphic (thats true); amazing stylization of enemies, terrain, technology etc (thats also true); great cast (just look at those actors); smooth stable gameplay with no technical issues (already proofed by digital foundry); great complex and smart story (just read almost any of the pro-reviews [in my country 5 out of 5 gaming webs gave it 9/10].
    Now what about the gameplay you asked? Thats like the most important thing isnt it? Well i can tell you that gameplay is slow paced but great. Its mix of walking sim., exploration game, action game, stealth game and survival game with deep gameplay mechanics. You will also get some vehicles to use so its not only about walking (so basically its more game than you average looter shooter or run and gun game because DS has far more game mechanics).
    BUT what about the biggest mystery related to this game? Why is there such a huge number of trolls? Well some notes from my observation. Almost right after the game was released and people were allowed to start writing reviews the huge review hate bombing happened. And to this days hundreds over hundreds generic troll "reviews" are posted every day. And not only that but theres also troll mob patrolling around literally marking every positive review as unhelpful. Whos behind this i dont know but iam going to tell you that its not only extremely pathetic to hate a game you have never even played (which is something many of the trolls even admitted) and its not only toxic against Kojimas team but whats even worse its really damaging whole game industry and only giving cards to the hands of those greedy companies who dont want to take any risk with new singleplayer games but only push more generic online trash with microtransactions and greedy money baiting mechanics (every year the same).
    So if you played the game for few hours (at least like 12) and you dont like it fine you have all rights to give it 0/10 (tho its still overreaction) but if you dont own the game and you only follow some hate train, consider this trolling funny or someone told you to do this... then shame on you... you only damaging gaming community.    … Expand

    The game also has quite a lot of fast and exciting action parts later in the game, it takes time to get there but when it does it's really exciting and breathtaking. at the beginning the game feels empty at first because of the story, and it gradually becomes more and more lively the more players cooperate and build the game world, the ideas that this game has like players all working together to rebuild everything is something i've never seen in any other game before it's just genius game design.
    The music, the ambitious ideas, the game world, the story, everything in this game is blowing me away. it's a wonderful experience.    … Expand

    Wouldn’t trust the low score brigade, either haters or just really dumb consumers who didn’t research the game. It’s a more meditative experience yet they lust for Michael Bay set pieces. If you sound intrigued by a postal, mountaineering sim set in a sci-fi apocalypse, then give it a go.

    It has an extraordinary gameplay, even if it is a walking simulator.
    Graphics is astonishing. I didn't play alone, so, when both me and my girlfriend saw the first minutes of the game (which actually wasn't a CGI, it was a video made with the Decima Engine) we were shocked. It looked like the real captured 4K video from the drones somewhere in Iceland but once again - it wasn't.
    The story is interesting enough? Huh, it is one of the best scripts and motion capture ever! But it's not balanced with the gameplay. You walk for a couple of hours, than you watch 10 minutes of videos. Then you walk again, wow, another 20 minutes of the movie. Walking, walking, walking, and... Wait, an hour of talking between two characters? Kojima, you kidding?
    Sometimes I was mad, for example in the end of the story (as far as I thought). So, the final credits. And a CGI. Then you can walk along the beach. Another credits. Monologue. Another one. Dialogue. Video for an hour. Gameplay. Credits. Video. Gameplay. A Hideo Kojima Game. You know, it is fine. But not when it is 3 in the morning and you have to wake up and go to the university at 7AM. And the final hours of Death Stranding transfer to the next evening.
    But after all. After all these bossfights which were won after 5 or less minutes. After this empty America which can be crossed form the West to the East for less than an hour (try to cross it for the same time or faster, I'll wait). After all these "Sam", "Reconnect the America", "Make us whole again" and other things... I did love it. And cried in the end. It made me to think about something. And because of these emotions I love Kojima and his games.
    Thank you for this masterpiece. I'll be waiting you somewhere here, in Russia, once again when you''ll come with another one game which will blow my mind.    … Expand

    I love the world that Kojima has created here. As I have in his previous games. The acting and story so far is great. I know this game is not for everyone. And I feel that so many of the negative reviews come from those who have not played a Kojima game before. As long cut scenes and weird story is a standard for him.     Esse jogo é como um vinho tinto raro e caro. Poucos sabem apreciar. Numa época em que idiotas so querem saber de jogar mp de tiro, esse jogo deveria ser vangloriado por todos os seus recursos técnicos e narrativa.

    Very intrigued with this game 5 hours in. Cant wait to see the rest. So far the gameplay seems scarce, but its adding more elements to gameplay as i progress and the story is fascinating

    Death Stranding is amazing. I believe this is my new all time favorite game. I can’t recommend for youngsters or gamers looking for a shooter. I can recommend for those with the intelligence enough to understand the game and it’s mechanics. This is more than a game. It’s a beautifully made masterpiece focused on the more mature audience. It starts off very slowly and builds up. TheDeath Stranding is amazing. I believe this is my new all time favorite game. I can’t recommend for youngsters or gamers looking for a shooter. I can recommend for those with the intelligence enough to understand the game and it’s mechanics. This is more than a game. It’s a beautifully made masterpiece focused on the more mature audience.     A sensação de jogar esse game é muito boa! E o enredo é sensacional. E dá pra entender o porquê do jogo ser lento, porém só jogando pra saber. Eu tinha dúvidas se ia gostar e hoje eu nem vejo o tempo passar quando estou jogando DS. Kojima é muito gênio, sim!!

Sure some ideas/mechanics may be similar to Metal Gear, but it's an artful, unique game that has all the deep and amazing parts of a videogame,movie, story, and Nature. I didn't do much research, but just saw people's horrible reviews and gameplay videos, but I decided to give it a    This game is a masterpiece.

Sure some ideas/mechanics may be similar to Metal Gear, but it's an artful, unique game that has all the deep and amazing parts of a videogame,movie, story, and Nature. I didn't do much research, but just saw people's horrible reviews and gameplay videos, but I decided to give it a shot.

    When I first started playing, I was blown away by the immersive soundtrack and rain (I also play with 7.4.4 surround sound system on OLED which may have made this experience so amazing). It was relaxing, intriguing, stylish, and trance-like. Full of art with Planet-Earth like visuals.

    Then, when I moved, I thought it was so creative in how the terrain correlated with my fatigure/energy in what I was carrying and such. Having been through a nasty nasty divorce, this game has been somewhat therapeutic and reflective. It's like a peaceful dreamworld, but the peace is intermittently threatened.
    I can go on and on, BUT....if you appreciated the movie MARTIAN, enjoy nature, and innovative gameplay with SCI-Fi elements, this is a game for you.

    I can understand why some people feel this game is boring, but that could be due to personality or taste....    … Expand

    Llevo varias horas con el título, realmente la historia es atrapante, visual y sonoramente impresionante y las mecánicas de juego muy adictivas y lejos de lo que todos los juegos para niños proponen.     This game is great, very creative, those 0's and 2's of rating are ridicolous, just people trying to give hate to this good game. Its not an usual experience, yes, but nevertheless its interesting and refreshing to the industry.

Episodes 1 and 2 are definitely teaching you how to play the game, it takes roughly 10 hours to get through the epilogue and first two episodes. People at the very least need to get to episode 3 in order for the game to fully open up. It is such a great game with an easy concept deliver packages from point A to point B and Sometimes to point C. This game is not for everyone and that doesn't make it not a Masterpiece. I am not a Kojima fan, I dont care for any of the metal gear solid games but for some reason I absolutely loved this game. Give it a try push through episodes 1 and 2 and I promise the game will change. The community for the game has done some amazing building with structures and given the game life. It truly is a great experience. Again though the game isn't for everyone.… Expand

    The most beautiful and compelling game i’ve played this generation. It makes me want to go back to Iceland so bad.

    Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
