    The games cut scenes are like movie levels.
    Game play has a learning curve, but after unlocking more items and getting a hang of the mechanics, it opens up tons of ways to play it.
    And you would really appreciate a ladder or rope put by others when you are on a steep slope and carting a heavy cargo.
    This is the type of game i was looking for!

    I can understand that people are bored with this game, but it is a new genre. People are used to going fast from point A to B, finding 4 enemies and that's it. This game is attractive to enjoy the landscape, try alternative routes, help each other (connecting is beyond history). I see some comments from people who have played 5 hours and got bored, I didn't have time to get bored for theI can understand that people are bored with this game, but it is a new genre.     Игра оправдала сюжетом, много неожиданных поворотов. Не знаю чего ожидали игроки, но игра хорошая.

    Played this game for 12 hours so far. It pains to see that this game is getting do many 0s from most who didn't even play this game. Sure the game feels repetitive at times, but this is similar to euro truck simulator. It was received so well on steam, but this game is getting this hate because of the hype this has. Even without a good "gameplay" the visuals and story alone can give this 5Played this game for 12 hours so far.     Starting with the obvious, the game is beautiful. Characters and environment are designed wonderfully. Gameplay is smooth and understandable, the game guides you through the story, so you can't get lost.
    Movement of the characters is really organic, they move like a real person with weight and physical limitations.

    A beautiful game with a variety of cool cut scenes and not bad gameplay. I don’t understand why such low ratings. And then they complain why they don’t make good games...

    Кодзима создал очередной шедевр, игра не для всех геймплей очень медленный, но при от игры получаешь удовольствие. Одно из самых ярких впечатлений на нынешнем поколении консолей.

    Bad pacing? Don't even tell me if you are still in the first area (Eastern Area as it's called in the game). As in every other game, the first part is for naiveté like you, to get you familiar with the mechanics of the game. Boring? It's in fact weirdly addictive and satisfactory. I give it a 10/10, not because I want to balance out the 0s in here, but because it breaks out of conventions that are what's really making most games boring these days. You are no longer challenging this guy or that––each trip is a challenge. Killing is no longer the way you approach another being––even the concept of killing is itself being overturned in the grand backdrop of Death Stranding. You are no longer alone, although so often you feel lonely in the game. As in the prophetic prologue quote from Kubō Abe, you are no longer holding sticks but ropes.

    I recommend this game, not just to niche players but to all who still love gaming. There are different ways to tell a story, and we do not need to limit ourselves to one.    … Expand

    If i have to rate any game from the first hour of it i would give death stranding a 10/10 , this game is just beyond all games in every possible way , if you just forget everything you've ever played before and try this one , trust me you would fall in love immediately , THANK YOU KOJIMA .

    Kojima has done it again. He brings everything from previous games and a compelling deep story and you have a GOTY contender. After the 8hr mark you start unlocking cool weapons!

    wow what a great experience. manage to convey a lot of emotions. The music and graphics are excellent. and as for the controls they transmit the effort that the character makes to move through this incredible world.

    This game ain't for everyone.
    To be honest is not for me either cause of not haven't so much action.
    BUT I love that we finally get a game that is different in the core itself.
    I love the story. I love the atmosphere of the whole game and the concept itself.
    It is a controversial game but I love to see something different than run and shoot.

    The game gives a completely new and incredible experience. Also pleases attention to detail. Designed landscapes, character animation, detail of the world, gameplay. Love the atmosphere and cinematic insertions. Hideo Kojima once again proved to the world that he is a genius!

    ons of mechanics, which are very intuitive to control and working like clock. I was optimistic, but that exceeded all my best expectations. Gameplay loop is so engaging that you literally forget its core is walking. You just need to play it and feel it with your own two hands, because YouTube videos don’t convey even the 10% of its fun.

    This game is breathtaking with its scenery and the setting from the very start is one of the most interesting worlds I’ve played in, if you want an easy ride then you’ll probably rate this a low score because people don’t like to actually try with games but if you like a challenge and a brain using game then you will love the gameplay thoroughly and get the most out of what it has to offer

    I honestly thought, because of all the mixed and horrible reviews, I was going to have mixed opinions of it. Oh my god it has surpassed even my expectations, that were already high! The first 10 hours critics were complaining about, I found very fun. Yeah they are fetch quests, but I never had so much fun doing a fetch quest! This is not a simple "walking simulator", it is an engaging, terrifying, beautiful and emotional experience. It is a refined Kojima game, at its best. I got the same feeling I did when I first played MGS back on the PlayStation, Where as that was a stealth game, this is a delivery game. However, where MGS stealth was straight forward, DS is so much deeper in gameplay. It i amazing how reactive the terrain is to Sam. I could really feel all of the obstacles you have to traverse through. The sound is amazing, and very creepy. The music is very serene and touching, matching the story very well. You can really tell that a lot of effort was put into the sound and music of this game. While people say it is a boring slow paced game, they are probably used to hyper fast games like Fortnite or Overwatch. I say this because I felt the pacing was perfect. You were given time to get used to the mechanics, and explore the world that is simply breath taking. There was lots of story and rest in between, and going to Sam's room always felt meaningful and welcome, after a long journey. This has been a needed breath of fresh air, as games have become the boring same old crap, that I feel like I have played the same game over and over. This gives me hope, that if successful, will inspire more triple A titles to take a chance on something new. The only downside I could say that exists, is that we are going to have to wait at least 3 or 4 more years for a sequel..... I really hope they release some DLC story content that fills in that gap. I am a Kojima fan boy, through and through, but I was still worried in the end that it would not live up to the hype. For me, it did that at the very least.… Expand

    Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it. [Issue#299]

    This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
