    Hideo Kojima is a madman. This game does not make any sense. Actually It's a sin to call it a game...

    The main character is basically silent during all the conversations making him hard to like. It only takes 10 minutes to walk 1/5th of the US but the same amount of time to shower, piss and **** I am still in shock over how bad the combat and boss fights are. Its like playing a really bad mobile game

    Yesterday, I ended up hating myself for playing 3 hours straight while hating the whole thing about the game. You just keep playing because of the Skinners Box (dopamine discharges in your brain when completing tasks), as you could sickly play Candy Crush for hours without understanding    GREAT IDEA, GREAT AMBIENCE, EXTREMELY POOR DEVELOPMENT.
    This game is ABSOLUTELY BORING, IS TRASH.

    Я бы не сказал, что игра ужасная. Но она совершенно точно сильно переоценена. И, по сравнению с тем, как её преподносили - то что получилось в итоге - отстой. Так же было с Fallout 76

    What a boring game! Its purely a walking simulator where you have to run circles around, picking up and delivering stuff. Graphics is not everything. Games need to have good gameplay as well.

    The game is beautiful, it's graphics are top! sometimes i just stop in the midle of it look at the enviroment, and yes, it is funny, may not be a call of duty where you turn 360º and shoot people while jumpimp of the map to get the best score, this game it's a lot slower, and it's foucus it's on telling the story, witch by the way it's kind of confusing but that it's kojima intention, it's an interpretative story! there is so mutch games out there that don't really and, it just leave a oppening for the player to interpretate what happend and decide how to story really ended.
    In a world where we are aways at war and separating ourselfs, where violence it's aways the answer just because the person on your side thinks something diferent, have a diferent skin color, o sexuality here comes a games that try to bring us back togheter with all it's metaphors.
    Hideo kojima made a masterpiece here, it' has some problems yes! the story should be a litle shorter, but still a wonderfull story.
    The gameplay of the game it's great! you aways have to know your limitations, and what can you bring to your jorneys, the world is a real challenge, moutains, mules, BTs aways trying to kill you(BTs), or just trying to steel your cargo(mules), when you take all the orders that you can, the map tell you the dangers of each section, and once you deliver your cargo you can change the equipment in the base that you just stoped because now there will be diferent dangers.
    if you like a game that is calm, with a greate story and you don't have to run all the shoot things all the time(something more frenetic), that may be the game for you, but if you are the that kind of person how need action all the time i think you should save your money to buy some other game.
    This is nota game for everyone, but please, just because the game it's not for you, don't say that it is trash or that it sucks, be respectfull, because i'm pretty sure if you think a game is a masterpice you wouldn't like if someone called it trash.    … Expand

    I guess I missed the part that people enjoyed while playing death stranding.. To me it's an overly hyped game that the critics wanted to be good SOOOO bad that they made it good in any way they could.. I would avoid this game with everything if you enjoy playing games for entertainment.. If you enjoy working at trying to make something fun then this games for you..     Simply one of the worst games I have ever seen in my life. There is no fun at all, you just carry stuff from a place to another. Awful gameplay. Dev's shouldn't be allowed to get away with deceiving people into thinking that this is a complete game

Всё. Думал: "Ну минимализм, что в этом плохого, Коджимба же гений, ему виднее" Первые несколько часов было интересно, ведь игра наполнена    Симулятор курьера, с наградами в виде катсцен

    Начнём с того, что по началу, когда я только запустил игру, её главное меню показалось мне бедным, и это так и есть: огромная надпись "Death Stranding" и внизу текст с пунктами с синей волной. Всё. Думал: "Ну минимализм, что в этом плохого, Коджимба же гений, ему виднее"

    Первые несколько часов было интересно, ведь игра наполнена катсценами, а ходить нужно на небольшие дистанции, но иногда становилось скучно, но познавать какие-то элементы управления было всё таки интересно, но их тут не так много, чтобы всё прохождение постоянно было что-то новое.

    Постепенно, я стал больше замечать, что игра мне скучна, ходишь из точки А и до точки Б, а в награду дают катсцену. Круто же! В итоге, нам ничего толком не объясняют, и мы вынужденны сами до чего-то догадываться, строить теории и так далее, кроме того, многие сюжетные повороты легко предугадываются, ну и вишенка на торте - сюжет наполнен некоторыми тупыми и необъяснимыми моментами.

    Я надеялся на эту игру, а получился "Симулятор курьера, с наградами в виде катсцен". Видно было сразу, что Кодзима спустил все деньги на голливудский каст, подарочки для блогеров и музыкальные композиции от популярных исполнителей.

    Кстати, поподробнее о подарочках для блогеров: Кодзима отправил четырём летстплеерам специальные АЛЮМИНИЕВЫЕ кейсы, в которых была PS4 pro, оформленная в стиле игры, кьюпид (кулон, который стоит 325$ в оф. магазине Кодзимы и который является самым дорогим сувениром там), контроллер в том же стиле и беспроводные наушники.

    А теперь рассмотрим коллекционку Death Stranding, которая стоит в районе 12 тысяч рублей. В её набор входит: ПЛАСТИКОВЫЙ кейс, изолента (15$), брелок космонавта (17$) и пластмассовая капсула с BB, которая слегка светится. Всё.

    Кодзиме просто плевать на фанатов, потому что ему важнее его Эго, которое он тешит своей игрой, блогеры, которые называют его гением, а на обычных игроков ему насрать.

    И как сказал Кодзима: "Американцы — большие поклонники шутеров от первого лица, а Death Stranding сделана в другом жанре, она выше этого.", так что ребята, мы просто "американцы" которые не на его интеллектуальном уровне. Куда нам, до гения!    … Expand

    This game is HOT GARBAGE. A huge waste of time. Pretentious and long winded. There is nothing fun or engaging about the game. All the mechanics are frustrating. The story doesnt make sense. And why the hell did Kojima make a 40 hour fetch quest game? Im not joking I now understand why Kojima got fired from Konami

    Es la mayor mierda que me he podido echar a la cara, Kojima te hace hacer de cartero en un mundo muerto, horas y horas de pateo aburrido sin nigún tipo de de aliciente de seguir avanzando salvo una historia que cojea por todos lados, y para variar como siempre, la prensa especializada siendo los vendidos sobornados por Sony... pero ya no cuela.

    Después de jugar unas cuantas horas, me he decidido a levantarme de la silla e irme yo a hacer senderismo. Mucho más divertido y beneficioso para la salud.

    Demasiada publicidad pagada. Hay muchísimos juegos con mecánicas innovadoras de estudios no tan famosos.

    - It's not deep like it pretends to be. Well, maybe if you are 12 years old. There are a lot of scientific terms thrown in, and if you like /r/science, Neil Degrasse Tyson and    Oh my god. You know why its bad, if you don't, read all negative reviews and 99% of them are correct. Just want to add a list of things I think are not mentioned that often, ON TOP of everything else people say.

    - It's not deep like it pretends to be. Well, maybe if you are 12 years old. There are a lot of scientific terms thrown in, and if you like /r/science, Neil Degrasse Tyson and generally aware of where physics currently stands, you'll get 4D experience. By that I mean, you'll get tears rolling down your cheeks akin to Sam Porter Bridges when you be reading next email with 'philosophy' about Big Bang, antimatter, Higgs particle, evolution and other buzzwords meaning of which Kodjima has 0 clue about. It's unbelievably bad, stupid and disrespectful to reality. Those concepts are already deep and mind blowing, they don't need bad pseudo philosophical sci-fi wrapper in form of this game to boost their meaning.

    - Again, it's not deep! Even the main idea of uniting people! It's shamelessly USA-centric and very, very, VERY clichéd and naive. We've got civilization wiped out, no roads or infrastructure, only isolated settlements for god knows how long, BUT we still well remember where the border with Canada is and don't give any fcks on how they deal with Death Stranding. It's their business, and we're busy uniting USA because we're cheaply trying to appeal to USA audience, that's where most of the money is. Very, very deep lol. Masterpiece of philosophy.

    - Ok, you already know how boring the gameplay is. But what's especially insulting is that the game seems to be SELF AWARE of this issue, as it makes a lot of subtle jokes here and there about it, about backtracking, 'one more delivery, we promise', and constant verbal reminders on how 'important' it is to do side quests. It's mockery, because they are not important at all.

    - Special word about backtracking, if you're still on the fence and like the scenery, and think 'I might like that, going to new places and enjoying a nice virtual hike' consider this: the game will often send you back where you've been, sometimes so far that it will take you hours of walking to get there. All that through visited areas, all familiar landscapes, BT fields, and all annoying terrain features you thought you've overcome already. And then back again to the forefront. And then AGAIN all the way back. And then again to the forefront. No story-line advancements at the checkpoints, just cheap generic praises 'Thanks Sam! Delivery is in perfect condition!' for countless of hours of this BLOODY backtracking. This is the worst. Everything else that is bad in this game pales in comparison to sheer amount of backtracking you'll need to do. It's not relaxing, it really feels like work.

    - Humor is pathetic. Poop grenades? Pizza delivery? It's not even 12 years old level, it's kindergarden. It destroys the mood. It destroys the lore and this world. Good thing they both are so bad, there's nothing really to destroy. The whole universe is just gigantic plot hole. It just doesn't hold together, don't even try to make any sense of it. Just switch off your brain when you start the game. Why doesn't time-fall destroy your coat? Where can I get another one to cover my cargo? Why doesn't rainfall touch the cities? Why characters can so easily teleport around and yet you need to haul alive people on your back risking your lives? Why can't I teleport my cargo when some items on me teleport just fine? Why do I have my private room everywhere I go? Why is a manual delivery even a thing when the tech around is so advanced? What's worse, the game even gives you walking robots delivering stuff automatically! So it's possible isn't it? Why nobody haven't built any roads before me? Why aren't there any flying vehicles? Any drones? Sure time-fall and stuff, but there's a detailed 100% accurate weather map, surely we can avoid rain with it? Why do I even need a qpid to make the internet with people? Why would people be against this? What is their motivation? What are the disadvantages of being part of UCA? When people are not connected, how do they make delivery requests? So there is some connection? Why do I run 1 mile and the map shows I went from one state to another, 1000s miles? Ok, maybe we should assume I really run for 1 month, but why then I get pizza delivery back to the previous place, so is it really 1 mile and not 1000? How does multiplayer fit into the world? I connect an isolated settlement and it turns out it's full of structures? So has it been visited and connected before? If yes why do I do it again? .... The list of questions is endless. It simply Doesnt. Make. Any. Sense.

    - Again, just to reiterate. All negative comments are correct. It's boring, it's stupid, it's shallow. Don't buy this game.    … Expand

    This game is not worth the time and money. The gameplay is monotonic, and the story is complicated, tried to make some drama, but it didn’t go well. Also are a lot of documents to read in it, which makes it even more boring. I though maybe there will be good views of land or something like that, but there is nothing but rocks, mountains, snow and rivers.

    The overnight deletion of 6400 negative user reviews by metacritic under the fallacious reasons that they were not constructive enough (although all the other 10/10 were kept - double standards) is yet another illustration of what is happening here and on the will to suppress freedom of speech about this "game".     I will keep this spoiler free but it’s hard to do that and describe why the game isn’t that good. It may be due to my tastes, but much of this game is Dailey tasks but on a grander scale. If you plenty of free time and want to do menial tasks this game might be for you. After 6 hours I wished I could have returned it. I ended up giving it to a friend for free instead of getting 5$ at GameStop.

    Purchased this game due to the hype created around it and was severely let down on all factors aside from graphics and cinematics. This game is as boring as it gets and just gets extremely boring after not even an hour of playing it. I would avoid any buyer from purchasing this game. Seriously save your money it isn't worth spending it on this.

    Simply waste of money. How come they decided to make a game based on delivering stuff. And in most cases on foot. Literally this is the game. The core of the game is this. On top of that there overwhelming number of cutscene which will take away controls from players. You will be forced to watch all of it like a dumb. Now i get it. Konami was always right.     I was hoping for a game to live to its hype simply because it had all set up for a perfect game and potential. the only problem been the indulgence and thinking giving us half a game and the other half complete art with the graphics and music with tedious and monotenous missions and progression in every way possible. Instead or this game having the self indulgence of i am art and basically we where going for a movie instead of what they gave us is very sad .the konami and kojima break up has truly gotten its toll on some more than others putting all of kojimas Fustration or sadness and determination into a game that feels more like its for a walking simulator and make the players feel kojimas negative emotions too thats the experience.     Just a walking simulator with good graphics. Borind from start to end, monotonous, easy even in the hardest difficultie, enemies become irrelevant in mid game, music is also good, but a VIDEOGAME (not a movie, this is listed as VIDEOGAME) is to have FUN, and this game is clearly not fun. They could have make this story as a movie and im sure it will be 100 times better than this.

    Me considero un Fan de los Metal Gear y en efecto esperaba una genialidad por parte de Kojima en este juego, pero me ha decepcionado totalmente; queriendo crear algo que en su prepotente y ambiciosa mente visualizó como algo único, segado solo a sus necesidades y caprichos de alimentar su ego y no la de su público.     Lo lamento pero 10 horas es lo que más pude aguantar. Es muy estresante, aburrido a mas no poder. Redundante en todo cuando se hace, pensé que si ponen más de 80 de nota es porque les gustará.a todos, pero esto es para pocos.... Muy pocos. Súper aburrido no puedo más.

    Simulator of walking. Just imagine a game, where you should walk from point A to point B with minimum amount of action for 50 hours. That is what Death Stranding really is. The story and the plot are shadowed by extremely boring gameplay.

    Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
