    A unique and thought provoking video game that pushes the boundarys of the medium and the messages it can deliver. The gameplay suffers from a slow pace but overall a good and interesting experience.

    The landscape, story, characters and players collaboration through psn is amazing, you will love such different amazing experience, gameplay needed some spice up, there are repetitive missions although the game gave you a way to avoid wasting time through constructing various things that lower time and satisfy the players

That's a good game in terms of story (which is multilayered and full of symbolism and references to Egyptian mythology), graphic, OST and, of course, cast. Also I was glad to see Easter eggs in some NPC (which appearances was copy from famous people!) and additional materials (interviews and e-mails).

    Gameplay... That's very arguable thing. Personally I liked process of delivering cargo. Not only because that's pretty meditative but also because as your plot progress grow (and you get new devices) then you will be able to diversify delivery process. Also I highly recommend to play this game with Internet because of infrastructure sharing between all real players. That's very good feeling when you got like for you building from real person.

    But my problems with gameplay was linked with enemy encounters. That was pretty boring (although suddenly stealth is more interesting then open encounter because of environment audios and sinister atmosphere but boss battles is the most boring battles that I've ever played, sorry, Kojima).

    So I liked this game. But I would not recommend it everyone. And definitely not for the full price.    … Expand

    I was never so excited when waiting for game release like for Death Stranding. I think I also had the most immersive experience of any games. Pre-ordered it for PS4 and then again on PC. Totally my GOTY.

    highly under rated game, no clue where these negative reviews are coming from, there is plenty of shooting after you get a couple missions in, the story is so good, the suspense created by the bad guys are crazy. lots of created features to this game, great characters I think most people didnt finish the game and didnt play it.

    Beautiful and amazing story! The ending was pretty emotional but good. This game was definitely worth it for me but I totally recommend it.

    I was one who internally mocked the game and said that it was overvalued. I bought it on sale and finished it yesterday. The only thing I did not link was the 5 floating figures. I ended up loving the game. Everything made sense in the end. The game's mechanics had a lot of improvement margin but the story was amazing.     I mean, this game is basically a walking simulator through Iceland. Isn't that on everyone's bucket lists? Sitting in those baths near the airport? Oh yeah that's in the game too. For $40, this game is an absolute must try. I don't doubt that some people won't be able to get into it. It    This is a great game. It has basically crap controls for most of the entire game, combat which is so boring it is way more fun to skip, and using ladders, ropes, ziplines and driving a rusted out van is the funnest part of the game.

    But seriously the point of the game is really the plot and building a relationship with a baby. Yes, a baby. Goddamnit that baby is a hero.    … Expand

    I'm not gonna spoil anything but once you stick through it, and I mean seriously stick through it, this is probably the most exceptional experience I've had with a game. One that will actually make you question your EXISTENCE. Pure sci-fi. On top of that Kojima still left some little things in the game for Metal Gear fans. All in all a solid 9/10.     Impressive game. Kojima charm is there. Gameplay gets better every chapter. Its slow at first, try patience. Story is existential and philosyphical and maybe not for people who arent on prying minds. Presentations like sound and graphics are perfect.

    I genuinely love this game. It might not be for everyone, and that's perfectly fine. But this is my favorite game on the PS4. If it seems interesting to you, absolutely give it a try.

    So after reading so many reviews trashing this excellent game I thought of adding a few pennies. Am I a Kojima fanboy? Not at all. I actually find MGV boring and drab, although it's much more of a shooter than this one. A lot of people will say it's a glorified walking simulator and there's certainly parts of the game that feel like it - one of the biggest challenges is terrain traversal.So after reading so many reviews trashing this excellent game I thought of adding a few pennies. Am I a Kojima fanboy? Not at all. I actually find MGV boring and drab, although it's much more of a shooter than this one. A lot of people will say it's a glorified walking simulator and there's certainly parts of the game that feel like it - one of the biggest challenges is terrain traversal. But instead of thinking of it in terms of walking simulator think of it as something of an evolution of a 3d platformer - it's a beautifully crafted, naturalistic world in which your objective is to get from point A to B. As the game progresses you find yourself in possesion of a growing number of tools to do that, so in the middle part of the game you actuall mostly drive around in trucks and motorbikes, while in the latter you mostly fly around on zipline. Now terrain traversal is fun and does make for quite a challenge. Another thing that makes for a lot of fun is new tools that are being introduced almost literally every half an hour. Some of them you might never use, some of them you will find yourself using constantly, so there are many ways to approach an objective. Another strong aspect is story - this game hours upon hours of beautifully realized cutscenes. How good is the story? It's good, although some dialogue lines are just badly written, mostly it's well versed. In an industry where most products have a throwaway story just for the sake of presenting cool graphics and mechanics, this one definitely stands out. Coupled with it's insane soundtrack and action heavy intervals, you get a one of a kind masterpiece. Most critics, even if they praise it suggest it could've been shorter, but I don't agree with them. I was actually surprised when the story started to wrap up, I wasn't ready yet - haven't delivered enough packages, haven't finished building all the highways (very satisfying activity btw), haven't encompassed mountains with my network of ziplines, haven't unlocked all the extra equipment... In the end story left me crying... this game certainly is a tearsqueezer. Does everything in the story make sense? Kinda, you just have to accept that it follows dream logic more often than waking logic. Buy it, it's worth it.… Expand

    - Physics (even your center of gravity matters, the terrain conditions, the slopes, everything affects your movements, your balance and the condition of your equipment and packages)
    - The story: If you just see the cinematics in youtube, the story is amazing. The world created for this game is outstanding. It's full of details and plot twists
    - Acting: the acting is great, I cried in many scenes
    - Online mode: The online gameplay goes inline with the idea of reconnecting people, of helping each other to save América and the world. You never compete against other players, but you can help them make their journeys easier.

    The bad:
    - Game is too long, in Episode 3 you spend like 20 hours connecting dots by making deliveries and the story doesn't progress at all.
    - Fast travel: you lose all your cargo when you fast travel (well, it's stored in a private locker but you each private locker in each location is independent, so you must go back to the initial location to access your old cargo)    … Expand

    После финальных титров Кодзима снова заставляет меня сидеть с открытым ртом. Стилистика, графика, музыка, герои - на наивысшем уровне! Одним из минусов лично для меня - это искусственная "затянутость" игры.

    The only issue was the slow pace of the gameplay itself.
    Other than that, good game but due to the terrifing and boring game play, i wouldn't replay this game.
    55 hours of game play and the first 15 hours was the an absolute torture.

    o jogo é perfeito, nivel the witcher 3 e até melhor em história, o jogo não é pra muitos, não é massante só pq tem que ir de um lado para o outro, afinal existe veículos, acessórios e equipamentos pra isso, eu mesmo quase n preciso andar, construí tirolesa pra tudo quanto é lado, quem da nota baixa para esse jogo certamente jogou errado, e esperava um call of duty da vida, o jogo tem umao jogo é perfeito, nivel the witcher 3 e até melhor em história, o jogo não é pra muitos, não é massante só pq tem que ir de um lado para o outro, afinal existe veículos, acessórios e equipamentos pra isso, eu mesmo quase n preciso andar, construí tirolesa pra tudo quanto é lado, quem da nota baixa para esse jogo certamente jogou errado, e esperava um call of duty da vida, o jogo tem uma história e mensagem profunda, vale todo dinheiro.… Expand

    I loved the game and it was my first from kojima. I later played metal gear solid 1 and i loved that too. Death stranding is an amazing journey that will scare you, make you cry but also appreciate breathtaking landscame. The gameplay is a cool rpg but maybe the environment should have been upgraded with some animals

    Una propuesta Novedosa ,y excelente a nivel técnico. He de decir que no esperaba nada de este juego . Muy buenos gráficos, banda sonora e historia . Tiene bastantes cinemáticas pero son muchas horas de juego 51 he hecho yo para acabarlo . Grata sorpresa , muy recomendado si no eres de los que les gusta solo la acción. El juego trata en su mayoría de llevar cargas pero tiene que llegarUna propuesta Novedosa ,y excelente a nivel técnico. He de decir que no esperaba nada de este juego . Muy buenos gráficos, banda sonora e historia . Tiene bastantes cinemáticas pero son muchas horas de juego 51 he hecho yo para acabarlo . Grata sorpresa , muy recomendado si no eres de los que les gusta solo la acción. El juego trata en su mayoría de llevar cargas pero tiene que llegar todo en buenas condiciones y están las mulas , el relieve , vehículos, el declive, en definitiva para nada es un walking simulador.     It’s pretty good, defiantly takes a while to get going, but it has a pretty intriguing gameplay loop, Stunning graphics, great soundtrack and solid voice acting. The plot is pretty weird and hard to follow at times but I enjoyed it far more than I expected. I’d say worth a buy at some point.

    Death Stranding offers a truly beautiful and completely different experience. I would like to recommend it to everyone, but unfortunately not for everyone. Not everyone likes to carry cargo, but I liked it and had fun when its story was beautiful.

    This game is mostly about narrativge because the gameplay is not the strong side of this game.The gameplay is quite specefic cause not everyone can enjoy it,but i enjoyed it,and also sounftrack by Low Roar is breathtaking.The narrative is so good a lot of twists and unexpected turns of plot.But i truly recomend to play this game,it is different experience in games.

    Очень странная, но в тоже время прекрасная история про курьера и постапокалипсис. Игра выглядит уникально во всем, начиная от оформления и геймплея, и заканчивая сюжетом. Често, я не этого ожидал от нее, но все же мне игра безумно понравилась. Она привнесла в мою жизнь много положительных эмоций и благодаря ей я узнал о великолепной группе Low roar. Многие игру ругают за однообразный иОчень странная, но в тоже время прекрасная история про курьера и постапокалипсис. Можно было придумать больше интересных моментов и разбавить курьерские доставки рандомными событиями. Так же не понятно, почему враги в игре жестко привязаны к своей области обитания, из-за чего становится проще всего пересечь эту территорию, а не использовать стелс или открытые столкновения. Та же проблема и с боссами. Хоть они и красивы, но бои с ними не вызывают особого челенджа. Лично я знаю о всех этих недостатках, но игра для меня сработала на все 100%, но рекомендовать всем подряд я ее не стану… Expand

    Probably the best looking game on this console generation - period. The vision and gameplay are commendable in what they are trying to achieve. Kojima clearly is a visionary. However, not sure if this game will start a new genre or define some elements for games to come - although only time will tell.

    Bought this game as I really like Norman Reedus as an actor. I invested 115 hours into it (got all the trophies). Loved it from beginning till the very end of it. @Hideo Kojima you have created a masterpiece I will never forget. Thank you :-)

    I would say that the atmosphere of the game in most situations is equally as great. Whether you're walking along a dirt road or running from literal ghosts, the ways in which the game conveys the desired mood is immaculate.
    My largest knocks against the game would be how information and controls are conveyed to the player (or rather, how /much/ information), and the menu-ing. There is so much information that gets regurgitated to you, both regarding mechanics and regarding plot elements that I felt it began to negatively impact the game in the latter half. There are so many systems working at any given time that it's a marvel how this game works as well as it does, let alone at all. Given the size and length of the game, I don't blame the developers for reiterating information. However, at a few points it did begin to negatively impact the way I felt about the game while playing it.
    I loved this game, and while I wouldn't say this 70+ hour Norman Reedus / Hideo Kojima simulator is for everyone, I'm pretty surprised at a lot of the negative reviews of it.    … Expand

    The characters are well-designed with typical-for-Kojima cheesy nicknames and sometimes heartfelt backgrounds to said nicknames. There is a disconnect in how many times you see a hologram instead of an actual character, but this is a nonissue in a post-apocalyptic story where the weather and landscape has become deadly. The sluggish nature of the weight distribution system does make up a lot of the gameplay, but the sluggishness gives each delivery a feeling of actual weight - this isn't just counting numbers until you have maxed your encumbrance, there are multiple parameters to each package to be considered There's even a hotkey for those who aren't interested in manually organizing. Stick around long enough and the clunky menu doesn't feel so clunky- it pays off by the midgame when you know your best load out and are hauling 12-20 medium size packages with ease.

    Death Stranding requires patience through a large prologue. Enemies are sparse and seemingly unbeatable until progress is made, and the time it takes to walk the various open ended delivery routes can be daunting... but you soon unlock multiple vehicles and equipment that make the initial 20-minute hikes into five minute rides. The real gameplay doesn't even start until the second city is visited, a spot that a huge amount of people stopped playing at - based on PSN trophies as of April 2020, 43% of players completed the third chapter of a 14 chapter game. For reference the first boss fight is chapter four. Only 28% finished the game entirely.

    These numbers should be significant - everyone is entitled to an opinion but how can reviewers judge a game they likely didn't finish? Take the time to get involved with Death Stranding. Put yourself in Sam's sometimes frustrating boots, don your harmonica, and spend some quality time with your BB, dammit! If you're up for it, Death Stranding will absorb you.    … Expand

DS is like a Mountain you gotta climb, but after you do climb it, you just wanna look back at your achievement and let it rest on your memory.     This game is not perfect but it introduces so many unique concepts, it is a needed breath of fresh air, something different.
    The gameplay did not bother me, things remained interesting until the end, i loved the different gadgets and weapons you can make and the planning required for the toughest journeys.
    The online aspects helped keep things fresh and i really enjoyed it but there is no way of entering a strand contract with a friend, that is a shame.
    Some people have pointed out the blatant product placement (Monster), i don't mind it, at least the game is not full of predatory microtransactions.

    Bottom line is that the game deserves 9/10, not because it is good, but because it is unique and interesting.    … Expand

    A very beautiful game. It has a high quality in many tecnical aspects, a well elaborated narrative and a fantastic soundtrack. Indeed it takes a time between some of the most waited action parts of the history, there is no shortcuts, but, its really a game to be appreciated with the due patience. It's not for everyone taste, but is really a masterpiece to those who understood the proposal.

As I said before this game is not for all the gamers but I like it a lot. Kojima's games are always interesting and weird at the same time and that it is why I like it. The graphics are pretty good and the colours that you see in the different locations are pretty good and you don't have a dull feeling that you might have in the older Fallout games, I know that the fallout games needed to be like this so that you get the feeling but the landscapes are a little bit dull.     Great game, lots of gameplay mechanics. It's takes a few hours to get into it but it it's totally worth the investment. Only complaint I have is the amount of time you spend in the menu. That is a very legitimate complaint with the game. The menu time is intense. Despite that, it's a great story. If you are into narrative action games, this is a must play. You won't regret it.

    You can play this game in a whole bunch of ways, i mostly went stealth, think really the most enjoyable parts are when you can take a minute to enjoy your surroundings, or when it forces you to find a way of interacting with human adversaries.

    its a slow burn and not very varied in the main mission structures. But that's not the point. you are there to make other players times easier, you need to go through the slow opening to get to the point to work with others asymetrically, helping others is very satisfying. seeing the roads you built being used by other users, creating zip lines across mountains etc

    Nice idea. Nice story. Very good cast with very good acting most of the time. Amazing music. The world feels natural but there is is not enough variation. The too many explanatory cut-scenes in the beginning of the game were somewhat tiring. The world felt too empty but I guess this goes hand in hand with the narrative.

    Criticarlo por la realización de misiones secundarias que pueden llegar a ser repetitivas es un desacierto. Este juego es mucho más que seguir las secundarias    Llevo jugando a los videojuegos desde la época de nes y master system. Por mi haber han pasado muchos juegos, de las mencionadas 8 bits hasta ahora y puedo decir que hacia muchos años que un juego no me transmitía tanto como este.

    Criticarlo por la realización de misiones secundarias que pueden llegar a ser repetitivas es un desacierto. Este juego es mucho más que seguir las secundarias (por cierto algunas son brillantes) sumergirte en un mundo con infinidad de detalles, la maravillosa banda sonora, el inmejorable doblaje de los actores es sólo la punta del iceberg. Es un juego profundo al que me fue imposible dedicarle menos de 100h, me lo he pasado con 105h y aun me quedan secretos por descubrir.

    Decididamente se trata de una obra maestra, un argumento que te deja elucubrando posibles respuestas durante dias. Ir del punto A al punto B se convierte en toda una expeciencia en la que debes usar el ingenio para alcanzar tu meta, nada es lo que parece.

    Recomendado a aquellos que sepan jugar desde la calma, aquellos que quieran disfrutar de un juego que alcanza la cumbre en prácticamente todos los aspectos. Tiene algún fallo, cierto como la falta de realismo en el manejo de los vehículos pero que esto os no haga perderos todo lo que supone esta historia.

    Vivimos en un mundo donde la ordinariez y vulgaridad acapara los mayores éxitos en la tv, prensa y muchos videojuegos. Este juego supone un antes y un después en esta industria como lo supuso en su dia shenmue (otro incomprendido en su época y ahora es un juego de culto)

    Это гениальный шедевр!!! Новый, раслобляющий геймплей. Сюжет - пушка, это лучший сюжет за мою жизнь! Кодзима Гений!!! Ждём сиквел или приквел, такую интересную вселенную нельзя бросать на одном проекте.

    I like the graphics, the gameplay and the story. It's hard to get into at first, but once you start discovering the many structures and how to use them, you start having more fun. It's a creative way to approach the open world genre.

    Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
