    PS fans complain about FPS drops and long loading time. LOL, What did you all expect? This game was made for PS I know but hardware is so limited there is nothing Devs can do about it. I played on PC and this game runs smooth as butter. That's what can you expect when pathetic limitations are gone. The open-world is good hoards are awesome. Somany placses to go expolor. This is awesome! The story is very emotional and smart, the characters are likable, t I can't say any bad. BTW Thank you Sony for releasing this game for PC. Underrated game.     The game is that immersive I bought a PsS4 Pro and played. I'm not a player so you can imagine how good is this gamestory. Brilliant! Awesome! Thrilling! Exciting!
    ...and that feeling of riding the motorbike! Lovely! Like the best of riding motorbike simulation!
    ...also facing hordes... unforgettable! Just masterpiece!

    Days Gone is a good game that is weighed down by the amount of missed potential that is constantly on display. Starting off with the good - The open world feels both big enough and lived-in. Exploring is a blast and every location feels like it has its own backstory. The gameplay is also quite fun although the mission design leaves a bit to be desired at times. Hordes are just as terrifying as you would expect and when you get to the point where you can take them on you really feel like a powerhouse.

    Moving on to the cons, the game gets progressively worse the more you play it. The first 10 or so hours are amazing. The next 10 feel like you're stuck in the same place and the last 10 are a downward spiral of both plot and gameplay quality. By the time you get to the end the game feels like it was finished by 1/5 of the team that started it. Both the plot and the characters are nothing to write home about and the pacing is all over the place. Graphical problems are nowhere to be found in the first 10-15 hours but after that you can't go 10 mins without FPS drops, textures not loading correctly or clipping. There is also an obscene amount of loading screens toward the end of the game.

    Overall Days Gone is the Walking Dead game we never got but it lacks direction and is riddled with technical problems.

    P.S.: Whoever made the "Burnout Apocalypse" trophy can go **** themselves. Also good choice by Sony for a PS+ game.    … Expand

    Truly a breath of fresh air from all the other games i have played recently, brilliant performance by Sam Witwer, criminally underrated and one i enjoyed very much to platinum. Better than The Last of Us 1 and definitely 2.

    Great game! The good plot of the game is addictive, the main character is empathized and imbued with his story. A well-designed world! You can go to every house absolutely every house, I also wanted to note that the game is very colorful. Playing, you believe and immerse yourself in this atmosphere of the end of the world.

    This game took me months to finish. This is not the master piece some people say. The story is ok but lacks of what makes you to go back to a game over and over again. Probably the only reason that you will find yourself coming back will be to finish building your bike, anything else will be doubtful it will be as engaging.

    Most of the game mechanics are fine but driving the bike was a real pain, nevertheless you will enjoy ridding the rode and running over zombies or any other animal that you might find.

    No spoilers but from my perspective the game had anticlimactic ending, but play it and judge for yourself.

    El juego lo compre hace unos meses y tuve la de jugar la versión con todos sus parches. Así que mi nota evidentemente es evaluando esta versión. He de decir que me gustó Demasiado el juego. Un sistema de progresión realmente lento pero bien recompensado buena optimización del juego en PS4 slim con bajadas de frame muy puntuales que no afectan el desarrollo del juego.     This game was tedious for me and has a lot of bugs and glitches. I started to play and didn't enjoy it really. Honestly i didn't care for the story either.

    I don't like open world games mostly, with a few exceptions because the most is repetitive & unanimous. However this title is one of the best in it's genre, even if It has flaws in form of numerous bugs. The story is excellent and the characters are great. The whole world is worth exploring and has beautiful landscapes. I'm sure, they learnt their mistakes and the sequel will be better butI don't like open world games mostly, with a few exceptions because the most is repetitive & unanimous. However this title is one of the best in it's genre, even if It has flaws in form of numerous bugs. The story is excellent and the characters are great. The whole world is worth exploring and has beautiful landscapes.     I loved it. It is one of the most beautiful games for PlayStation 4 generation. Nice game play, I loved the plot and every character was well structured even the main antagonist Skizzo. The relationship between Dick and Boozer moved me more than once. not to mention the hordes. first video game in my life with so many zombies simultaneously on the screen, my base model ps4 could    Amazing

    I love games a lot and in the same time I hate bussiness approach of many game developers. They show you stunning trailers to convice to pre-order and launch unfinished game. That is disgusting. Very often they lie deliberately. Recent example - Ceyberpunk 2077. That is why I am affraid of buing games for premier for full price.     I didn't buy Days Gone at launch day because of that but couple of months later during some sale.
    The game is great. I will buy Days Gone 2 for full price for sure. Excellent story, great graphics, great climat, great gameplay, movement, enviroment, crafting and looting. Driving motorbike was cool.
    The only issue I had was FPS drop sometimes during motorbike rides - but I didn't care becasue game was so immersive.
    Playstation is not happy... - lets do it with Xbox. I will buy second part for full price for sure!    … Expand

    Underrated game, its better then Last of us 2, you gotta play it on the ps5 then its really a very great game. Driving feels very smooth.

    For me days gone was one of my best games of ps4. It was really addicting and enjoyable. Maybe in lunch days it has some technical issues and bugs but bend studios do a very job in supporting game and release updates and patches. I do not undrestand this idiot sites who gave low scores but do not pay attention. You will enjoy days gone so much I promise you.

    Don’t be fooled by the main stream rating. Even with the few bugs and problems this game is extremely fun and well made. Yes the AI is sometimes dumb and the frame rate sometimes drops and characters repeat lines, Boozer just called me up a couple time to say the same **** lol. Support these developers and show them we appreciate their time and effort and enjoy the game it is awesome.Don’t be fooled by the main stream rating. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic Oregon and I think the devs did a great job capturing that pacific northwest vibe.     The story was average. The plot isn't very original and I only started feeling engaged about halfway through. When I reached the third camp I started getting into it, but the early stages of the game (narrative wise) felt lacking in direction, and the story also begins to drag towards the end too.

    I experienced a number of graphical glitches during my playthrough, such as textures not loading and frame rate drops. These may have been fixed by now. Not gamebreaking, but annoying.

    Gameplay was standard, nothing groundbreaking. Decent combat. I found the save system frustrating at times. You can only save your game while standing next to your bike - which isn't always convenient because your bike can run out of fuel, be broken, or is sometimes better off left behind when going into ambushes. Missions do feel a little repetitive, especially side missions.

    For a ps4 exclusive, I think the game could have been better. That being said, if you're a fan of the post-apocalyptic genre I'd say it's worth a shot.    … Expand

    First of all i started playing it without the patch and it was complete buggy unplayable clunky garbage but then when the game finished uts installation it was soooo good i spend night playing    Excuse the errors i dont see what i type on the Samsung internet browser anw.

    Days Gone, with enough new gameplay mechanics and a fairly decent story hits almost all the right marks. The bugs and issues that were present at the launch were fixed almost immediately with a patch and none of them stop you from enjoying and getting immersed into the world that SIE Bend Studio has created. Definitely a must for me.

    Extremely derivative of several other games. Specifically, it felt an awful lot like Mad Max in the Pacific Northwest. There is a main, story quest, but much of the story is introduced through flashbacks that you have to watch, but no participate in. The map consists of a number of "regions," each with a set number of "Get rid of 'x'" or "Find 'y'" quests to help you level or gain trust at various camps to provide discounts at shops and upgrades. These are literally the same quest/activity over and over. It all felt very mechanical to me, and never felt invested in my character. Night day do not feel inherently different. So many aspects that felt all a bit incomplete and half-baked. But, it is fun to play and run around and shoot monsters and take out enemy camps.

    Update December 2020. On PS5, this game is a solid 8. Finished main story and ready to replay as it looks and feels like a different game. Same drawbacks with overall game but PS5 takes it up another level.    … Expand

    Also a buggy mess with terrible and outdated game design, messy gun play, sloppy driving mechanics, padded and repetitive to the extreme secondary missions, hours of driving through the empty locations and jogging around base camps, dubious UI decisions, broken sound design and bunch of stupid blunders    Interesting story in a beautiful world with some cool innovations like zombie hordes.

    Also a buggy mess with terrible and outdated game design, messy gun play, sloppy driving mechanics, padded and repetitive to the extreme secondary missions, hours of driving through the empty locations and jogging around base camps, dubious UI decisions, broken sound design and bunch of stupid blunders here in there.

    They have created a living, breathing open world that never suffers from Ubisoft Syndrome. Everything fits, NPC's feel like they actually have their feet planted in the world, and the characters are flawed and human.     Days Gone é o melhor jogo de zumbis de mundo aberto já feito. Muito melhor do que Dying Light. É um dos poucos exclusivos do PS4 com o qual realmente me preocupo.

    Very slow to build up. Interesting story but it could fit in a 90 minutes movie. Stretched over 50 hours it feels too diluted.

    Just finished playing Days Gone and I have to say that the world design, gameplay loop and character arcs are some of the most engaging and fulfilling I've ever experienced. My heart is heavy because it's over and I can't carry on following the adventures of Deacon St John - the only other time I've had that was at the end of The Last Of Us, and while I didn't cry this time around I'mJust finished playing Days Gone and I have to say that the world design, gameplay loop and character arcs are some of the most engaging and fulfilling I've ever experienced. My heart is heavy because it's over and I can't carry on following the adventures of Deacon St John - the only other time I've had that was at the end of The Last Of Us, and while I didn't cry this time around I'm still wandering around my apartment aimlessly, desperately trying to find something to occupy my mind.

    I was hooked for the whole 80 hours I plugged in to the game and I can't recommend it enough. It takes a while to get going but after a little bit you won't be able to put it down. It's impeccably designed and written. A truly impeccable feat of game design.

    That's not to say it doesn't have its flaws. A lot of the quests are variants on "go here kill/fetch this" but I always felt obliged to complete every single one. The characters were so engaging and the impact I was having on the world so great that every time the radio beeped I would jimmy on over to wherever I was needed. The flavour added by Cope's radio broadcasts and the little conversations you have over the radio added so much to the world. I genuinely enjoyed just riding around on my bike waiting for Boozer's next call or for Ricki to get in touch.

    My only criticism is that the difficulty curve slips and slides around. Play it on hard, you'll thank me for that. While it's difficult at the start it will ensure that the game is always challenging enough that if you're stupid you'll die but still enjoyable enough that you won't give up playing it.

    This game deserves your attention, don't mind the shadow the game has been put in due to the review scores of some critics. Its far from a generic zombie shooter. It has everything! beautiful visuals, fun gameplay, huge atmoshperic world, a great soundtrack that adds to the atmosphere, engaging story and just brilliant character development!

    Characters are a big problem in this game for me, the main ones start off as uninteresting, and are completely rude asses to everyone, but they get better much later in the game (same with the new side characters), however since that also took too long to happen, it makes the first half of the game feel almost like torture, I kept pushing through though because I read that it gets better, and it did, just not enough.

    The combat is the best part of the game for me, it is very fun most of the time, but it gets repetitive near the end, with what is essentially the same missions, repeating again, and again, to what feels like no end, and honestly weapon upgrades should be more easily achievable since missions get too repetitive, a quarter of them should've been cut, or made different.

    This game suffers from a few bad mechanics as well, and has plenty of bugs. There are numerous tracking missions that lead you to a location, but from there you're left wandering around with inaccurate controller vibrations meant to lead you to the next clue, but it doesn't work most of the time so it sucks, and there are bugs where:
    - enemies phase through the earth
    - had plenty of times where characters had stop their lines in the middle of a sentence, had to enter menu then back to get them to continue
    - a radio call bug where call stops at crash and continues muffled while off bike then finishes when you get on, missing what was said
    - enemies freezing in place
    - game freeze on loading screens
    - character not entering bike with button hold, unless in perfect place next to it

    Also, having to find fuel cans is hell, half the skills are useless, or make very minimal difference, requiring you to grind levels and side quests for way to long to get the good skills, a skill to mark fuel cans on map would have been more useful than many of them, and plants are way too sparse until after camp three, when the density of plants of items gets just right.

    The next entry, if there is one, should focus more on bug fixes, and QoL improvements like option to auto-refuel, fix bike and auto-refill guns at slightly greater cost when entering camps, greater stamina regen when standing still, skills with more impact, gear, fun items, and enabling more customization, thus more motivation to complete the missions, and having more fun while doing so.    … Expand

    Got into the game late, so I didn't experience any of the bugs people speak about. The gunplay feels satisfactory, the bike is great and mechanics are fun overall. The story is absolute garbage and the writing is incredibly cringy, but it has kind of a Z-series charm.

    L’ho giocato quasi un anno dopo e a metà prezzo, non mi aspettavo di potermi innamorare di ogni componente di questo gioco: dalla storia al gameplay mi ha convinto tutto. Se non gli do 10 è perché le ultime 5 ore di gioco vedono un calo drastico a livello di frame rate, bug e struttura delle missioni, il finale poi è da applausi.

    - Mission design could be better: sometimes Deacon had to drive to an other prt of the map and then exchange one sentence with another character. That was the mission? Yup, that's it.

    How are the critics so mixed on this game? Acting? Great. Characters? Unique and amazing. Story? Sucks you in and keeps you interested. Gameplay? Addicting AF! Upgrade system? Check. Regrets? That I didn't play this sooner. This games definitely deserves more praise than it got, and Sony should be jumping on the opportunity to keep the series going. If only all zombie games were this fun.

    A 7.5 would work great IMO. The game is fun, challenging, and looks good. Story is pretty good, nothing to knock your socks off, but its fine. I like the motorcycle aspect. Nice having something to move around on that is not a horse. Overall its a good game. But for the love of god, someone tell Decon to speak up. Its a chore to understand what he is saying

    Начну с хорошего. Это строго одиночная игра, с очень сюжетным прохождением. Это сейчас редкость, то кооп подсунут, то сюжет из разряда "делай чё хошь, может чё то получится", что на мой взгляд рушит всю атмосферу. Здесь с атмосферой всё в порядке!
    Сюжет в целом мне понравился, много действующих лиц. Немного драматизма не хватает, но ничего.
    Открытый мир, ну, как сказать, он только для того, что бы. Кроче, что бы нас зомбями пугать! В нем ничего не происходит, так как все задания ты получаешь в нескольких городах-базах. По началу исследовать интересно но после 5 часов стараешься использовать быстрые перемещения.
    Графика очень красивая, можно сравнить с Death Stranding.
    Стрелять. Ну по моим ощущениям так себе.
    Есть система прокачки, как персонажа, так и мотика.
    Теперь о грустном.
    Игра УЖАСНО ГЕЙМПЛЕЙНО СКУЧНА! В этом она, так же похожа на Death Stranding. В неё просто устаешь играть! Кажется вот конец, а нет, это только треть игры! Игра ооооооооооочень затянута! Конечно, сейчас ААА эксклюзив менее 40 часов не игра, но всё же.
    Теперь о зомбях. Эта "фишка", самый скучный и нудный момент игры. Орды зомби это 15 минут тупой беготни по кругу, аля Бенни Хилл и бесконечной стрельбы. То ещё веселье.
    Так же мне не понравился геймплей с мотоциклом (ненавижу покатушки), эта нудная прокачка, для того, что бы хоть по карте нормально передвигаться....напомнил, чем то, Mad Max.
    И кто бы, что не говорил, мне не понравилась лицевая анимация, ну корявая она и всё!
    Резюмирую. Игра эта, такой крепкий, красивый, очень длинный, эксклюзивный.......ПРОХОДНЯК на один раз. Я даже не знаю, чего у меня было больше, злобы или радости от того, что я наконец прошёл этот Days Gone.    … Expand

I only gave this a 9 though because the start of the game is pretty slow for like an hour or 2 but after that it gets a lot better. When their needs to be music at a specific point like a character death or major plot point the music is on point.     I finally finished Days gone today and I must say, it was way better than I thought it would be. I can't remember the last game I invested 80 hours into without taking any hiatuses. Here are my bullet points.

    Pros:
    - Great story, it hits generic beats typical for the genre but overall a great experience. It was novel-like in its ability to keep me wanting to know what was happening next and often-times I would play much longer than intended simply to see where the story was headed.

    -Good gameplay, it was nothing revolutionary but was never a nuisance in any regard. I loved mowing down waves and waves of freakers while upgrading my guns and skills.

    - The bike was great, It was annoying before getting fuel tank upgrades and prior to clearing most of the infestation zones but was a very cool and unique way to traverse the giant map.

    - The characters were for the most part excellent and complimented deacons insanity and disregard for his own life. Not all hit the mark though (looking at you Lisa).

    - The various sidequests could become tedious at times, but the game gives you a reason to complete each one. For example, clearing infestations made less freakers spawn and frees up your ability to fast travel while taking out ambush camps made the roads safer and filled out the map.

    - Excellent enemies, I loved seeing all the freakers and tainted beasts and... untainted beasts.

    - there's plenty more to say but I'll stop there.

    Cons:
    - The game was buggy, like super buggy. I'm a bethesda fan so I'm used to buggy open world games, but in the last act of the game there were so many game breaking bugs that could only be fixed by restarting my ps4 it became very tiring. I had a cutscene where the floor had disappeared, when the cutscene ended I fell through nothingness to my death. I would also get trapped in one-way invisible walls that would force me to restart my game. The list goes on and on.

    - Ammo capacity upgrades were locked behind level three trust within camps, making them only available far later in the game. I had only unlocked one or two by the time I beat the story and it took me around 80 hours due to always completing areas before moving on

    - The texture loading was god-awful at times, sometimes never loading at all throughout a cutscene. I can recall many times where boozers head tattoos were just... blurs.

    - some of the skills felt meaningless and there were strange additions to gameplay such as throwing rocks which I never once used at all. Then again, I played on normal - they may be more beneficial on higher difficulties.

    - Some of the Skills were useless, like throwing rocks to stun a single enemy or following up a melee attack with a ranged attack.

    - While the enemies that were in the game were great, there could have been a much larger variety, there is endless possibilities of what they could do with this "infection"

    All in all, the game was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone looking for their next open world fix. It wasn't perfect, and there were many flaws, but the things that were done right really made this game a memorable experience for me - 8/10.    … Expand

    Incredible game. Not sure why the professional critics gave it bad ratings, clearly they are biased and unprofessional or too lop-sided to understand the feat that Sony Bend studios achieved. My argument is justified given how good the user score is.

    If one game has made me never listen to critic reviews it is this one. I have been playing on the Playstation 5 version and can honestly say it is one of the best open world games I’ve ever played.

    I hate this game, it is either badly done or boring. I can praise the quality of the graphics, but there is nothing to watch in the game

    AMAZING GAME , storylines, gameplay, accessibility, everything in this game is solid and fantastic. Although I platinumed last year, am going back to play this masterpiece again in my PS5.

    Very meh, find fhe controls to be poor and lack of narrative that sticks. Got it for free so can’t complain but feels very hollow.

    It's a good game , where u will have a lot of emotions. But really there are no revolutions , know that. And Im not angry about situation, when only GOOD game are ported to PC, if u have PS4 or Pc play this game, buy this game. The biggest problem is long of game from 80 hours in middle, so if u have time and u love action in openworld u will like this game.
    Im waiting for second part.

    Me gustó muchísimo, la atmósfera post apocalíptica que recrea es genial, muy bien echa, la moto es fácil, cómoda y divertida de manejar, la angustia que se siente en cada rincón está muy bien, para mi es un gran juego!

    Bend Studio made a great game with a rich, believable and captivating story. They’ve also resisted the lure of trends: there’s no multiplayer, no lootboxes, no “game as a service” plans – just a very solid (and finite) singleplayer experience.     At the beginning of the game you’ll feel like you've already played this game... then it will let you go for a while only to return with reinforcements (and lots of bugs). However, Days Gone has a couple of pleasant moments, that can't be denied. [Issue#295]

    I expect and hope for a sequel. Just know that going into this game that there is a lot of tedious nonsense to pad out a really good game to make it feel more worth every dollar, much to its detriment. I want to give this game a better score because the best moments are so good, but the large portion of this game is so bloody tiring that I just can’t.
