It's a pity that there are many bugs. Without them, it would be a top game. Nevertheless, all topics are OK, map, story and gameplay. A problem is as some games, apart from having repetitive missions it's too long.

Days ago is considered one of the most frustrating games for me, as it did not give an excellent experience in terms of the open world, as it is full of defects in terms of transmission, and it is difficult, and sometimes I felt bored and repetitive, so my rating for this game is 6.7 out of 10

Played on PS5. Very addictive gameplay loop where you just scavenge cautiously for upgrades, trying to deal quickly with the dangers. Fairly easy. Good looking visuals. But a horribly shallow story and way too much cut scenes or parts where you walk around during some "emotional" conversation.

I think we've come to an oversaturation of open world, zombie/post-apocalyptic games. Had this game come out some years ago, maybe it'd have received better scores. This game has pretty visuals, but other than that it brings nothing new to the table, hence it can get tedious.
I wish they remade or continued with the Syphon Filter series, which I really enjoyed during the ps1 era.

The story starts off pretty slow, the characters are not very in depth, there are glitches and bugs, and it can be cheesy. It just seems like it was slightly rushed from the studio. But even with the flaws, I recommend this game. Thank you bend for a fun, enjoyable experience and I hope to see days gone return to PS5 in a sequel. Expand

Jogo mediano, cheio de bugs no ps5. Repetitivo mas GOSTOSO DE JOGAR. Achei a historia curta e fraca.

It's like several people came up with different ideas and game design elements that don't work with each other at all, never talked with each other (was this developped during the pandemic?) but still put all of it in the game.

Sony decided to shelf the IP altogether. I think that's a terrible idea.
I don't agree that it should get a sequel either, or at least I don't think that should be the next step.
It needs a remaster or a re-release, like a new edition in which they would fix all of its problems and everything that doesn't work.

The writing is pretty cringe at times, the voice acting overall isn't amazing, and the characters aren't the most interesting, but the game itself is a great experience... for the most part. It's very buggy, to the point that I actually encountered a game-breaking bug towards the end and literally have not been able to fully beat the game. But I seem to be one of the rare few this has happened to, not bugs as a whole, but this specific bug.

There are also a few weird and aggressive difficult spikes at multiple points. It's not unmanageable, but it's also pretty obnoxious. It's not hard in the sense that you want to keep playing for the reward of beating it. It's annoying and feels like they're expecting too much from you. As if the game isn't aware at how not polished some of the game systems are, and how that gets in the way of you effectively doing what it wants of you in scenarios with very little room for error. These sections encourage you to use glitches or exploits because otherwise, it is aggravating, and not in a good way.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. (this is my review which is being written after earning the platinum trophy for Days Gone) After hearing how this game was extremely under appreciated at launch i was very excited to jump into Days Gone. I was mildly disappointed. The story takes so long to get interesting. when it picks up it gets really good. but by that point i just want the game to be over. The story alone is easily a 8/10. but the games poor gunplay and memorable open world bring it down by a lot. The entire game is basically an errand simulator, running jobs for the various camp leaders. doing bounties, taking out enemy camps, and rescuing hostages, all for **** camp owners (except Iron Mike he was the one defend camp leader, rip) who don’t give a damn about the people in their camps. the first half of the games slow boring story is taken up by keeping boozer alive. the next half is still more errands until you learn that Deacons wife is still alive and you know where she is. the last 1/4 of the game is working with the militia to blend in so you can help break out Sarah. The last stretch of the game is easily the best part. Destroying the militia camp that has done sarah so wrong and pissed everyone off for the time in that camp. Even that segment of the game is held back by the terrible gunplay. managing the bike is a pain in the ass. that’s all about the bike.

The idea of this game taking place in a post apocalyptic world is there at the very beginning, but slowly goes away the more you progress. With the merchants selling everything you could possibly need. Ammo, guns, gasoline for your bike, and everything you could possibly need in the apocalypse. If you want to play a good zombie type game. there’s plenty of better options than this, i would recommend dying light, or the last of us. Overall decent story, Terrible, unoriginal gun combat, lame open world, and **** Colonel Garret. 6/10

The journey throughout this game was full of ups and downs for me. While a admire the devs initiative in trying to redefine a genre, my final sentiment was that the final vision was far from being accomplished.

Unfortunately the story felt too long and predictable and I only could get emotionally invested in it in the final part of the game, with special mention to the incredibly boring flashbacks. The antagonists are not very interesting and didn't provide any surprises or meaningful plot twists.

Nevertheless the game can be fun and I had a good time playing it in most of the times. Riding with your bike throughout beautiful landscapes felt really nice. The art style and character models and scenarios are top tier, with special mention to the actor who plays the main protagonist, who was excellent and really put his heart in the role.

The problems start when you realise the lack of polishing in most game mechanics and the absurd lack of mission variety. It really feels that you are kept doing the same 3 missions over and over gain during the whole game, being that either a variation of tracking a bounty, eliminate an enemy camp or bring an item to someone.

Stealth felt pointless and too repetitive and always with the same outcomes. Character progression is too linear and the skills you unlock are not very exciting. Most of them feel like things you should already be able to do since the beginning. The gun play is enjoyable, with a decent but yet limited variety of weapons that don't play very different from each other. Most of times it feels the game just makes you grind for more powerful versions of the same guns.

While the open world is cool and looks great it was not well designed for exploration. There is nothing to do outside of scripted mission. The eventual question marks that will pop in your map will only lead you to a limited variety of boring and recycled encounters with animals, bandit ambushes or a corpse to be looted. At some point I just stopped chasing them. The day/night cycle could have been used better. As far as I could tell it only alters enemy populations.

Now, the horde system is really good. Until later in the game they feel really threatening and taking down your first horde is on of the emotional highlights of the game. Once you start doing that frequently you can develop your own tactics and have fun with it.

Overall I feel this is an above average good game that was far from achieving it's full potential but yet I look forward to play a sequel.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I really like this game. It’s not perfect by any stretch of the meaning but it is good. There’s a lot of filler and it feels a little bit too long. There’s certain missions that felt unnecessary to be in here. In the final third the game, it feels a bit more turbo charged. A lot of stuff happens and its a bit jarring. The game just isn’t paced right.

I’m not going to spoil too much but the story throughout the game has being building up to the answer to this question, is your wife still alive. But then it’s sidetracked with other random tasks that have nothing to do with the the main plot. The way the story is told is so frustrating. A bit of this story here, a bit of that story there. There’s no flow. And then when we get to the end its seems thrown together in a rush with a load of guns and fire. And the main villain in the end only existed as the big baddy for about five minutes. I was confused by that. They had another one build up a ready to go but finished him off in a cutscene. Peculiar decisions.

The world that the game is in is fantastic. The world feels alive and it is interesting. The enemies you come across is vast enough that it keeps me entertained. There are times where I’m in no mood for certain ones like the screamers but I power through. The bike I love. It sounds awesome and I don’t care what anyone says but I like the customisation options. I thought that at some point we were going to get the original bike back but I guess the game forgot about it.

Overall its a great game and I would have gotten the sequel if there ever was to be one. My main issues would be some of the bugs, funny as they may be but a little annoying. And that weapon wheel. My word it’s awful. Trying to select a weapon is just frustrating. Anyway I give this a seven and I think I’m being a little bit generous

Days gone is a game that rather confuses me in several ways. It is somehow uninspired and boring, while having some great highs and truly fun moments. I was struggling to give this game a solid 7, and after 100 percenting it i think ive changed my mind and decided to give it a 6. Lets start with the story. Days gone is an emotionally bland and mostly boring tale of unlikeable characters being in predictable and often forced situations that they dont react convincingly to whatsoever. Which is a real shame, as days gone desperately tries to tell not one, but several stories throughout its duration, all of which end up having the same issues. If you can look past bad writing, and pathetic characters with an overall uninteresting plot, what you get is a fine open world with some half assed mechanics that ultimately come together to make for a mediocre experience. It feels like originally the devs were going with a survival game, but quickly gave up on that idea as the game right now has little consequence for not having fuel or crafting items, both of which the game considers essential. Some underdeveloped mechanics include, the fuel system, hunting, stealth and bounty systems. Alright then, so after that what still allows this game to get a 6? Well thats just it, all parts of this game are disappointingly mediocre. Not atrocious, (apart from maybe the story and characters), not great. Hordes are a fun mechanic that can feel cinematic and fun, although never coming near to as good as they looked at the e3 trailer that's for sure. Exploration works fine, and you get a typical if not slightly above average open world experience to go with it. I think this game has some unique features at the very least, and im sure its a fun switch your brain off type ordeal, but after 100 percenting the thing i find it hard to recommend it to you. Expand

Pero enseguida te das cuenta, si has jugado a otros grandes éxitos de Playstation, que 'The Last of Us'.

Ah yes it's a "solid" game for sure. Combing all the sums of it's parts stealth, combat, crafting, exploration, story in a fun and tense cohesive whole.

I heard some drama about this game. Some weirdo BS from the racist/sexist online gaming press moaning the character was another while male. Also that the game had performance issues. Yeah I'd pick this one up if you have a pro. Maybe this has a memory leak? It slows down the more you play it on the legacy PS4. Picked it up on the 1.70 build and installed on external HD. Underrated game that deserves some attention for sure. Shame the performance wasn't up to scratch on the legacy PS4.

2021 update installed game on internal factory default HD and brought digital version. So no more disc anymore (traded). Performance seems to have improved. It's not great on the legacy PS4, but it is better than it was before. I'd of give this a 8/10 if the optimization was good. I read the creator crying about that we are not going to get a DG2, because enough people didn't buy DG1 at full price? Maybe optimize the game at launch cry baby creator? This game still doesn't run good in 2021.

Kinematics after kinematics that hinder the game and do not add anything that matters much. Once again: video game imitating cinema.

If you are a fan of the open world genre or Zombie genre...you will like this game. It has a sprawling map with objectives to do all over and throughout the game whilst the storyline will hit every single Zombie trope you can think of.
However, due to that design choice and story choice the only word that can truly be used to describe Days Gone is...Generic. Nothing in this game is remotely pushing the curve or subverting expectation, it essentially leans into every other open world game and every Zombie media that's been done 100 times more. No game should feel the need to innovate, but this games lack of adventure in its choices left this feeling very bland and vanilla. Even the hordes that the games major marketing revolved around are in reality no more than a recreation of COD zombie's in a open world space whereby kiting here works exactly the same as kiting does in COD.
As I stated in the beginning, if you like Zombies and open world games, you'll like this game because you've seen it before and played it before 100 times, but in terms of it being anything "worth wild" it delivers in being thoroughly mindless and generic.

    - gameplay, is super generic the walking and driving, mostly the driving is really well done, but the open world might be the worst i've encountered yet in a AAA title, feels so empty and lazy build its just amazingly bad.
    - fun, it is just not, loot animations are too long, you will encounter a lot of **** designs in the game that are just annoying like the random encounter with the enemy that are just cancer and you cannot have at least a satisfying ride between point a and b.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. When I play a game I'm looking for something that plays fine with at least a fun story, it doesn't have to be great for me to enjoy, but that being said Days Gone is a game that I don't really like playing or watching. I've played it twice once on PS4, and once on PS5. I'll say the PS4 playthrough was worse just for the freezing and glitches. The PS5 didn't really have those problems. From a gameplay stand point it's okay, the shooting feels good enough, and the way deacon moves is nice. The bike controls are pretty good as well. Though I don't like the melee, it's pretty boring and kind of ugly to look at. The weapon durability is annoying but that's not a Days Gone problem, that just shouldn't exist in any game. Though all that wouldn't be a problem if Days Gone had a story that didn't make me cringe all the time. Let's start with the story over all - it's fine, a sad man in a zombie apocalypse misses his dead wife and can't get over it. The side story's are more interesting but aren't very fleshed out and are pretty short overall. Boozer's (your best friend in the game) story is more interesting he has a dead girlfriend/wife as well without it being a dragged out bin story. He does lose an arm an has to deal with learning to cope with it. He goes from an outsider to being a big part of a community and trusting more people again. In contrast Deacon (the player character) flip flops from a complete crazy person mostly during gameplay, to a 15 year old emo kid who can barely speak to his best friend, or really anyone for that matter. The four camps you visit in game are fine. One is a slave labour camp, one is a libertarian camp, one is a more well rounded "do the right thing" type camp, and one is and army. The slave camp and the libertarian camp don't have much story to them apart from a storyline with a young girl that is pretty dull. The well rounded camp (Iron Mike) is where you get a lot more characters and story but its still mostly centered around Sarah (Deacon's wife), Boozer, and a couple people at the camp. Over all my biggest problem with Days Gone is it tries so hard to do what games like Red Dead Redemption 2 do, and that take on a morally grey main character and make them understandable, have them grow, even if you don't agree with them all the time. But it doesn't feel like Deacon grows much at all. Boozer tries to help him get over Sarah's death but in the end he's proven right that she's not dead, and if he had let it go he wouldn't have found her. He spends years not trusting anyone to spite the fact that they want his help and would make him a part of things if he would just try a little. I know they wanted to have him be a person who can't let go of the past but at some point it gets silly. As for the story being emotional it all fell pretty flat. The flashbacks with Sarah before you find her are some of the most cringey scenes I've seen in along time - in particular the wedding, which was so awful that it made me audibly laugh. By the end of the story I just leave a game that took me 20 hours to complete feeling like it took me 40, with about 2 hours of real story. If you cut out the bandit camps, chasing down people for ally camps, and the NERO checkpoints, this game has two mission types: go to a place and shoot people or go to a place and shoot zombies, sometimes you'll have to get an item and bring it back. I also have some smaller issues, though there not important enough to say here. It's a game made with a lot of talent and money, but not much substance. I cant see how anyone can find this emotional as it's like a poorly written fanfiction at times. Though one benefit is no microtransactions! Expand

I really wanted to like this game and stuck with it for many hours. But there is so much that is annoying about it, I ended up deleting it.

If you are playing, first of all, make sure you invest in your bike first via the Copeland camp -- do not give anything big for trust to Tucker's camp or you will be blocked by a mission that requires a motorcycle upgrade for you to proceed. Great

Other issues: The combat is unsatisfying and enemies are bullet sponges. Your motorcycle's gas tank is the size of a teacup and might as well have a gaping hole in it. Searching for gas isn't hard but it is a distraction and unfun. The world is charmless and flat -- there's no color or detail to make it feel real. The slavering and lip-smacking of the zombies makes everywhere you go sound like mealtime at an old folk's home -- they should sell earmuffs at the camps.

Honestly, there is a gem of a game here but the gameplay just isn't working for me. I'm happy others like it but be warned.

Half of the game is ok, i even thought it's good game. But other half of the game, all army stuff suck as hell. And repeated missions go there and bring that things sucks. Score of 5 it's more than i can give to this game.

Days Gone is a good game that is weighed down by the amount of missed potential that is constantly on display. Starting off with the good - The open world feels both big enough and lived-in. The gameplay is also quite fun although the mission design leaves a bit to be desired at times. Hordes are just as terrifying as you would expect and when you get to the point where you can take them on you really feel like a powerhouse.

Moving on to the cons, the game gets progressively worse the more you play it. The first 10 or so hours are amazing. The next 10 feel like you're stuck in the same place and the last 10 are a downward spiral of both plot and gameplay quality. By the time you get to the end the game feels like it was finished by 1/5 of the team that started it. Both the plot and the characters are nothing to write home about and the pacing is all over the place. Graphical problems are nowhere to be found in the first 10-15 hours but after that you can't go 10 mins without FPS drops, textures not loading correctly or clipping. There is also an obscene amount of loading screens toward the end of the game.

Overall Days Gone is the Walking Dead game we never got but it lacks direction and is riddled with technical problems.

P.S.: Whoever made the "Burnout Apocalypse" trophy can go **** themselves. Also good choice by Sony for a PS+ game.

After all the bug fixes (not all the bugs fixed) this is close to the definition of mediocrity. Tiresome, predictable gameplay and story, tedious fuel management, still heavily glitched after much patching. Worth playing for free but even then gets tired pretty quickly

This game has a lot of good ideas but it falls short in many others. I loved the hordes, but I found the story and characters to. be so incredibly goofy.

I don't get what's so special about this game, it offers nothing new or innovative at all. It's a decent zombie experience but there are way better video games out there to enjoy before checking out days gone. I felt i wasted my money on sth that is not bad! But not anything new or interesting as well.

Zombies, here we go again. Days Gone is a game of adventure for the most part, and while the narrative can seem faint in depth, it is still an enjoyable experience. The forested dirt tracks and run down highways are a crisp real life setting. The feeling of a spaced environment with nooks and crannies, builds on the exploration and mechanical prowess. Whether you’re burning out the nests, or tagging on an upgrade to your bike, the game doesn’t deviate from its solid path.

I will admit, the story was not so captivating as I would have hoped for. The splitting narratives were more chaotic than branching. Though the hoards and stragglers of zombified carcasses, blended with good traversal and exploration made up for it.

Days Gone is not the goliath among zombie games, but it is a solid addition. In a story narrative about the walking dead, it can be hard to find a footing among the many others that have claimed that title. Days Gone does find a footing in and among them, but it is far from the top so to speak.

Days Gone is an enjoyable zombie-ish rider shooter. And there are some good moments in there, but they do not outweigh the negatives for me, which is why I give the game only a 7:
    - The game crashed on my twice;
    - There's a lot of stuttering and other weird artifacts going on during gameplay; - There are lots of moments where you see very low resolution textures; - Sometimes creatures

    - Sometimes creatures (or even people) are not visibible, but are shown in the radar, only to suddenly pop into existence;
    - Some of the side missions feel very samey;
    - The fact that they do not have a lot of different character models for the NPCs becomes almost comical after a while;
    - Sometimes you have no active missions at all, and then suddenly a boat load of missions open up all at once;
    - There sometimes is a very weird/comical mismatch between the dialogue that is spoken, and the body language of the person doing it (e.g. one of the speeches in the game by "a man with a moustache" looked quite surreal....).

There's some there here, but the game really should have been given another clean-up round. Still, bashing the brains in of the creatures is very enjoyable. And there's a cute puppy in there as well :-)

The story is interesting but Deacon is boring... and I mean VERY boring... other characters are average. Gameplays is great, graphics too... there is an ocasional stutter. But the game is missing something... I not quite sure what but theres just nothing that special...

    + Graphics.
    + Good stealth mechanics.
    + The main story line

    - The gameplay loop and side missions are pretty repetitive, and they work as a gateway for the main story.
    - Got a gamebreaking bug at the end of the game, so had to watch the ending on YT.

The requisite crafting is here as well. You get to ride a chopper around, which breaks down or runs out of gas constantly but in this bleak world there seems to be plenty of bike pumps and fuel just randomly lying around. People really didn't do a good job of scavenging for the preceding 275 days gone prior to the start of the game apparently.

A by the numbers game, nothing special whatsoever. It seems like the 3rd person action adventure type game has just runs it course on the PS4/PS3 era. Boring and formulaic, with the same stereotypical characters as every other game in this genre. Pass.

Crafteos, mundo (excesivamente) abierto, misiones secundarias, armas y cuerpo a cuerpo...

What is impressive is definitely the graphics, models, technical aspect of the game is very impressive but that's just half of the story, other half is the STORY and narrative part.... which is really is not fun in my opinion. Devs worked very hard on this game, it shows, but I just cant enjoy it when story, quest design is not making me keep playing, sadly. 5 Hours was not enough to "hook" me in.

This game is just not enjoyable… you ride your bike back and forth running errands that don’t really matter to you for practically 90% of the game.. the other 10% of the game is spent uncovering the truth about your wife, abnd these are the moments that sucked me in .. these are the moments that had me just sucking it up and doing the boring task of drive here, drive there, just to unlock the next flashback or the next clue to what happened to her.. this was my bread crumb… what makes the rest of the game so bad is that days gone just does everything in its power to make your time playing it miserable, issue 1
you have to manage your bike, you will run out of gas, you will have to repair it.. which is fine.. I appreciate the immersion this added to the game.. howver you would think you were driving a hummer rather than a motorcycle for how quickly you run out of gas,
issue 2 , theres no incetive to explore in between tasks,.. your inventory space is so limited that it discourages any sort of weapon collecting, and there isn’t much to seek out in this world outher than health and stamina upgrades.. leading to a world that just feels like a chore and an obstacle…
which brings me to issue 3.. the world is just an obstacle.. if it isn’t annoying enough to have to find gas trying to go from point a to b, youll constantl me ambushed, there will be snipers, tripwires, wolves.. the game wont let you just get to where oyu have to go.. it needs to throw you off your bike and force you to kill a bunch of enemies in a game with a heavy emphasis on survival… health and ammo is not plentiful here… so its kind of bs how often the game forces damage and combat on you during moments not even associated with the story… which brings me onto the 4th issue.. the hordes… again with the lack of ammo and recources.. especially to craft the thing needed to actually kill these things.. theyre just way too powerful and annoying.. and can be real game stoppers. As the game forces you to kill hordes like 4 times throughout the story.. though thankfully after dying enough your given the option to skip that bit… almost as if the game knows it has some overly frustrating parts to it… Days Gone essentially set out to make an open world version of the last of us.. but forgot to balance the mechanics of the last of us to exist within an open world… maybe the point was to make things miserable. To bring the actual emotion you would feel living in this world… in that, the game succeeds.. but in being an enjoybale experience, the payoff here wasn’t worth the misery… the world, the characters, the story.. its solid.. it good… days gone is an experience at least trying out… it did oddly enough have its hooks in me.. I happily played all the way until I got my answer.. it wasn’t until those final 6 hours that I was just over the game, its then you realize without that breadcrumb, theres nothing here to incetivize you to keep playing…
    I give Days Gone
    a 7/10

Bend Studio made a great game with a rich, believable and captivating story. They’ve also resisted the lure of trends: there’s no multiplayer, no lootboxes, no “game as a service” plans – just a very solid (and finite) singleplayer experience. That makes it a rare gem these days, maybe one of the last of its kind. [Issue#238, p.42]

I expect and hope for a sequel. Just know that going into this game that there is a lot of tedious nonsense to pad out a really good game to make it feel more worth every dollar, much to its detriment. I want to give this game a better score because the best moments are so good, but the large portion of this game is so bloody tiring that I just can’t.
