Dakar 18 drove terrible, the successor is somewhat better but it has issues again with drivability. I am used to that cars react a bit like WRC cars or at least i want the car to be handled correctly if the car oversteers. Because if you oversteer in this game there's no way out of it, you keep back and forth till you're sideway, VERY ANNOING and the worst part of the game! I have a bit of knowledge on what cars do when you can tune them like brakes drivetrains and such, but you're left in the dark as you have to figure it out yourself how to tune the car. I have felt pretty hopeless, no one goddamn knows what's the best configuration of the cars!!! Endlessly looking on forums for info and had one setup that was meant to be perfect for every vehicle but it's garbage! In the beginning of the game i somehow figured out a good setup for the car, but i changed it somehow and can't remember how i setted it up, and now am stuck on how to setup the car correctly. I hate those **** developers for choosing a setup, annoing as hell! I just want a car that handles nice, is that too much too ask? Did the developers even play the game they made? How is it that it passed the quality tests? Was there nobody that gave these **** some feedback? The cars drive like **** and i don't know the right setup, i'm not a **** engeneer, ok? Jesus christ.

The game is enjoyable though on other fronts but you're unfortunately can't escape the first stated facts. Beautifull surroundings, i really have the feeling that i'm in the middle of the desert, the scale of this game is outstanding, huge map with large stages, i'm playing pro, but the tier above it are much more lengthy. I reccommend the first two difficulty setting tho as the hardest tier is a bit annoing because you have a constant speedlimit of 180 or so i believe, so that you can't full throttle. Sound is great, navigator notes are great, cars are awesome. Bikes and quads not so awesome, they handle like **** don't wanna waste your time on that. Vehicles have great details, proper eye candy.

The storymode is a bit short as they only make use of the northwest part of the map. Such a wasted opportunity. The freemode will make that up but still. I almost certainly think that they are going to add more stages, and i sadly i think it's going to be paid DLC.

Online multiplayer is pretty cool but i often can't find a single soul that's playing this game. Constantly changing lobby options but still rarely came across some people. Also the option of bots that play along is a bit annoing. It is optional, but i wish they had put this feature out of the game as i, just like in careermode, got crashed into by by the stupid driver bots and lost preasuse time.

All in all this game is a bit of a let down. Undrivable (with no knowledge of carsetups), annoig AI, some pop-ups and freezes regularly, and long time wait if you're restarting. Though it has some enjoyable gameplay, this game is not finished. I have little faith this game will be made better with patches and such because i never saw this happening with whatever game. They will add stuff, that's for sure, and i really hope they tweak the drivingmechanics. It sucks just like the first game and i'm really pissed they did it again. Don't buy this unless you're a fan of this genre and wait till it's improved.
