An absolute bag of **** Ray tracing doesn't work, you end up with landscapes flickering with bright red blocks, or the screen displays a blurred image, with a central clear block. Or both! Crashes to main PS4 screen if you attempt to change settings in game. Poor graphics overall. AAnd a complet waste of £25.

If you've watched the trailer for this, this is a different game from that. It's a lazy poorly optimised port that is a joke. The fact they're taking money from us for this pitiful version is a disgrace to the game industry and a slap to any gamer.

They should apologise. It's like they took the PCs lowest setting, touched up a few details then released it. It's poorly done; judders,

There is very little good to be said about this.... ... this thing. Avoid for consoles. Do not purchase. It makes any nostalgia you felt for the original shrivel up and die, i mean the game has aged; no doubts about that. But this... this is like watching super mario bros the movie.

It’s just all over the place and dips well below 30fps regularly making aiming and lining up shots extremely frustrating . Then there’s the bugs. Constant issues with AI completely pull you out of the experience and there are numerous graphical and technical issues that leave this game feeling completely unpolished . I really hope they can patch this up and make this more playable, because as it stands, this is not worth buying or playing.

The game visually is hard to look at. The hit detection is so bad I can't tell if I'm even hitting my target. stealth doesn't work and the frames holy **** the frames are so bad. The original crysis back in the day was far superior. I would not recommend the remastered version of this game.

As you can't mess about with a console as you can a PC either a game will run on a PS4 Pro or it wont - clearly this game cannot run on a PS4 Pro so was a waste of £25. Shame as was one of favourite FPS games of all time - I should have left it well alone. 'Speed' mapped to L3 is utter rubbish as well i might add, as the slightest deviation L or R and you stop so have to keep pressing multiple times to get where you aimed for also so all in all a pretty rubbish experience. This game is an absolute mess on PS4 Pro. Firstly, gameplay-wise, it's OK. It's a 13-year-old game, and it plays like a 13-year-old game. Gameplay is repetitive, the "open-world" isn't all that open, and it's just not as much fun as it's later counterparts.

    I expected that.

What I didn't expect was a graphical disaster that's one of the most broken I've played on the PS4. Here's my laundry list of things that I've seen so far on PS4 Pro:

    Sub-teen framerates.
    Constant stuttering.
    Screen tear.
Little red "Lego blocks" that pop up all over the landscape.
Trees in the distance that don't pop in, but literally strobe in and out of existence, flickering constantly.
Parts of the frame where the resolution drops to practically nothing.
The ambient-occlusion shadows literally lifting off the objects they're attached to and floating round the screen.
    Double vision.

I'm about three hours into the game.

On top of this, the graphics, generally, are poor. Muddy, low poly, and inconsistent (the Nanosuits look particularly bad) - and that much-vaunted ray tracing? At best it's barely noticeable, at worst, it looks awful.

It's terrible. Absolutely terrible. A broken mess.

Not only was I disappointed to learn that the remaster was not based on the original PC build and all of its assets, but I was flabbergasted by the quality of graphics in this game, even for a freaking remaster, it is absolutely terrible to say the very least. For the enhanced consoles, you get to choose from 3 graphical settings: Quality, Performance, and Raytracing, all of which can be complemented with HDR and/or Motion Blur. The performance mode is just appalling, with framerate barely exceeding the 30 fps mark and image quality is not only severely downgraded, but you actually see nasty red artefacts just popping up as you traverse, it is simply horrendous. And Raytracing mode is equally as bad as the former, with Anisotropic Filtering poorly implemented making certain parts of the screen blurred out, aa if you have Depth of Field active the whole time. You'd have to play the game in Quality mode to get a decent experience, which still looks lackluster, and even then the game managed to crash a total of 5 times by the time I finished it. Expand

It was great fun to be able to play Crysis on a PlayStation and it looked decent and handled well.
I'm just happy to get ps4 ports of the game whether they're remastered or not. I've since had to buy the remastered trilogy as i loved the sequels a lot on ps3,

People report glitches. I never stayed to experience them. I deleted this garbage about 30min trough.
Controls are poor. There is no regular running mode. Either walk (which is slow) or sprint using your suits energy.
Hit detection is the worst i have ever seen. I sat in a truck with a mounted gun and tried to hit a group of soldiers from a minor distance, i never did and got blown up. Is like trying to thread a needle blindfolded. Absolutely broken in every sense.
This Crysis game is purely an PC game experience and will and SHOULD remain so. Crysis 2 was more opted for consoles and i actually loved that game, but this game is simply an agony to play on console. For the love of God, save your money.

Considering it's a remaster the graphics are pretty horrible. Stealth kinda works which is the only thing that's not too bad. The way checkpoints can be buggy and re-spawn you in a situation where you can get spawn-trapped is just as bad as the fact that the game freezes for about 2 seconds at every checkpoint you reach.

This game was very fun from start to finish, it's got 3 modes Quality, Performance, and Ray Tracing. I played it in Ray Tracing mode and the game is just gorgeous and the reflections are great.. I want to say the FPS targets 60 but I feel it was more closer to 45 consistently. The story is pretty good, it's definitely been done before but as a 2007 game it's a high quality story. The best part of the game while also the worst is the gameplay. The nanosuit was truly a gaming marvel back in the day, it showed what was possible for a SciFi type FPS and it is very fun but there are a few problems. The Helicopter AI is FRUSTRATINGLY extreme, even in Stealth mode it will find you and shoot you incessantly until you take it down. The enemy AI however ranges from awful to good depending on the situation, more often however its just not good and you can literally be crouching next to an enemy and they wont see you unless you're in their line of sight but the AI when they do see you will take cover, flank you, call out orders to other enemies etc etc so it all depends on if they have seen you or not. The game has very good variety as well, you can tackle missions guns blazing, quietly, and sometimes you're in a tank or aircraft so I didn't feel often that it was getting repetitive and I always felt I had freedom to do what I wanted. I think Nomad is a pure badass and iconic in his own right, he is a soldier to the end and has a deep sense of honor and loyalty to his fellow Nanosuit friends Psycho and Prophet and other comrades and I just find him to be a very memorable and genuine protagonist. I think purely speaking on PS5's version that its a solid fun tight game with some great memorable moments, a late enemy faction that raises the stakes and sets up the series in a great way, and sometimes very stunning visuals and that's really impressive considering its a remaster not a remake. My final score is a 9.0/10

There is no doubt that Crysis was a landmark game in the history of first person shooters and some gamers had to take a pass at the time due to its high system specs. Much of what made Crysis fun and innovative still holds up, but it is disappointing that the Remaster does little more than selectively improve the visuals and make relatively minor changes to the controls. Crysis was amazing in 2006 and all shooter fans should play it at least once, but Crysis Remastered is hardly an essential purchase for shooter fans in 2020.
