    Technical issues aside, sadly Cryptark ends up being a middle of the road roguelike. It has some well thought out and unique ideas that get lost in the business of everything around it.

    Overall Cryptark is a great, albeit limited, fast paced experience. While it could have benefited from having a greater narrative scope and dialog between the characters, the action and replayability will be more than enough to keep you going for a long time.

    I was really looking forward to play this game. The gameplay is fun and it looks really cool. Sadly the perma death system in it ruins it allI was really looking forward to play this game. The gameplay is fun and it looks really cool. Sadly the perma death system in it ruins it all for me. This game is not for people with full time jobs, family or even a girlfriend. You spend an insane amount of your funds at the beginning of the level, which is then gone no matter why you didnt reach the end of the level. So you just hope you dont get interrupted, else you lose all your progress. How is that any fun? It's just ridiculous and sad, because i like everything else in this game. But that little misdetermination makes it a waste of time. :(… Full Review »

    The game is brilliant. Combat is epic, and the controls are tight and responsive. Lots of different weapons and abilities. I love how you haveThe game is brilliant. Combat is epic, and the controls are tight and responsive. Lots of different weapons and abilities. I love how you have a budget, which you can expand or shrink based on ur performance, throughout the campaign and choose your weapons/abilities accordingly just like in the old times. It is challenging and the AI is aggressive. Numerous different enemy types and enemy central systems, one for example keeps summoning enemies every couple of seconds so you gotta go run to it and destroy it. There are different modes besides the campaign that I still haven't jumped into. In short, if you're into roguelike shooters then you have to get this. Cryptark is my new favorite PS4 game besides Galak-Z. Indie developers rock.… Full Review »

    This game had loads of potential and looked really good in videos. But you soon begin to learn that it's overreliance on grind and andThis game had loads of potential and looked really good in videos. But you soon begin to learn that it's overreliance on grind and and straight up trolling gameplay that all that potential is lost. The game relies on you getting resources to upgrade your ships to be able to move forward in the levels and it starts out super easy but then the difficulty just jumped up ridiculous amounts and you die and start over. The cost of upgrading your ship is too much and your ship is just underpowered compared to what it has to fight. Most people will be done with this game after three or four tries I was full stop with a bit of balancing and a bit of smart game design they could have really been under something… Full Review »
