Tony Hawk meets Splatoon
Crayola Scoot is a competitive scooter game that can be played solo or completive locally where you play as your own created character as you set up to climb the rankings and defeat all of the legends standing in your way.. And to climb these rankings you have to level up by gaining experience through challenges…
Crayola scoot starts out as a decently fun and very accessible tony hawk like game…
In fact this game reminds me very much of the competitive modes in tony hawks underground…
There are challenges where your goal is to either color the park the most, get the highest score for tricks, race and collect 5 crayons before your opponents, there are team based modes here as well just to name a few…
this feels like a skating game but with scooters that leave behind colors… these colors allow you to move faster and refill your boost meter when rode on.. a boost meter that helps tie trick combos.. and combos are very easy to do and land, handling is a little awkward but that’s expected.. everything for the most part feels smooth… this game is very kid friendly, easy to master…
nd after you’ve earned enough experience from completing these challenges on any difficulty youd like, youll be challenge by one of the legends to a game of scoot.. its basically a game of horse… who can get the best combo before the timer runs out… and if you defeat a legend in scoot you move up the rankings, unlock more challenges but more importantly, youre able to buy that legends scooter parts and upgrade your scooter towards your play style or even be strategic about building certain scooters around different challenges..
Unfortunately there just isn’t enough done here to keep this games hooks in you..
it’s a fine game, its not bad.. but its not really good either…
There are only 3 worlds and each of the 3 worlds only has 4 different parks and none of them are really any fun to explore like a level in tony hawks underground for example…
so after only an hour the game was starting to feel stale and repetitive to me…
The same maps, the same game modes.. over and over..
And as a game designed for children.. you can kind of just wing it and progress.. you don’t really even need to try that hard to attack a challenges goal.. youll get it done by just messing around.. sortve making this game feel like just a sandbox.. which isn’t a bad thing.. but it becomes a bad thing when like I said earlier.. the parks just arnt fun to explore…. There were never any moments where I saw a possibility for a cool combo or trick I wanted to pull off… I was just going through the motions which ultimately soured my experience…
Bu again Crayola Scoot isn’t a bad game..
its just there..
A very kid friendly tony hawk game.. just not much substance here
I give Crayola Scoot
a 5/10… Expand
