Crash 4 is a true sequel to crash 3 warped, The story feels fresh and awesome to the franchise, controls feels like the original trilogy but with new awesome mechanics like rope swing, rail grind and wall jumps, the quantom masks abilitys are awesome, The Boss Fights are more fun than ever, This Game is A Masterpiece, i Love every second of it.

Dont be fool this isnt a Crash 3 follow up, but rather is a TfB project, nothing bad with that as gameplay wise they try to come as close as possible, but while playing such things stood out as the jumping being very floaty and how many similar mechanics they incorporated from the RnC series; wall jump (understandable), grinding (they really use this one a ton), slowing time (a la Future)Dont be fool this isnt a Crash 3 follow up, but rather is a TfB project, nothing bad with that as gameplay wise they try to come as close as possible, but while playing such things stood out as the jumping being very floaty and how many similar mechanics they incorporated from the RnC series; wall jump (understandable), grinding (they really use this one a ton), slowing time (a la Future) and gravitating to the roof amd floor (nexus). Also they focused more on collectibles, which many who enjoy doing this will have their hands full, personally im with the group that preffer just collecting crates (simpler yet effective). And Before focunsing on visuals and story, the bosses in this game are rather uninspiring, they most just use machines or contraptions (while Brio was nearly felt the same as C1 but slower and more boring). No i want to focus on my previous statement, why does it feel like more like TfB Crash project than a follow up for Warped? The answer comes in Visually and Story telling. The characters visually look and feel from a Skylanders game not Warped, with unnecessary redesigns where shapes and frames are completely change (example Coco n N.Gin, and Crash's weird neck dilemma), and this is something that completely stands out and i see many reviewers not pointing this out. And the story, with the exception of the intro, nothing else is mention or reference from Warped. Crash hasnt had a chance (with the exception of Twinsanity) to tell a fleshed out story ala Jak, Sly or Ratchet, but here he gets his chance and was lackluster. We have the premise of the multiple rift opening that Uka did (this being his last appearance on the story, and only mentioned once after this), from there on the story develops, and while some interactions with the masks are nice, most of this felt out of a fan fiction with many callbacks to previous games, dull characters interactions that one would day dream of, the complete focus on exaggerated expressions (i understand TfB wanted to focus on this, but they went full with this, it felt like they wanted to achieve every model expression for each character sheet got checked), the overly use multiverse concept thats been beaten to death and use as a free pass for stuff like Tawna's new design (she's from a different universe, which is just an excuse to show off their take on the character, lime they've done with almost the entire cast), the incorporations of meme that only the fanbase will recognize (i understand that their take on the story was one to be seen with a lack of seriousness, but adding the woah meme...that was the lamest thing done in this franchise, just embarrassing.), and the portrayal of characters (Cortex being a goof lile for 95% of the game, Dingodile's uninspiring inclusion in the story and becoming one of the group, Brio working with Cortex again with no explination whatsoever) . All in all, im glad Crash is back, but dont let you're nostalgia and hype blind you, despite this being billed as a Crash 3 follow up (which one would not recognize unless you read the summary or see the 4 in the cover), cause visually this is inspired on Crash of the Titans and Skylanders. Perfectly captures how a Crash game should feel. Controls are precise, and the first 2 levels are the beginning of a perfect sequel.

However, for most of the game, the level design is not great. The pacing and difficulty is nothing like any Crash game. The lack of polish and bugs, create a lot of frustrating points. The bear levels feel borderline broken, and destroyed any wish for ever

The boss battles are uninspired.

It starts out strong, but it quickly starts going downhill. After the first 2 levels there are the occasional great one, but most of them range from mediocre to downright bad.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Its About Time, sin duda alguna, es un buen juego.

They ruined a perfectly good game by adding a cringy mary-sue with feminist hair. And she's much stronger than Crash, the protagonist. So they are doing what the woke hollywood is doing -- making a show supposedly about Obi Wan, but making him a loser that is upstaged by that Inquisitor chick, or even a 10-year-old Leia.

This is a good game, this game has no flaws.
It can almost be said that this game is one of the hardest crash bandicoot made.
For this reason, I give yellow points because there are much better games and compared to them, this game cannot receive green points from me.

Do not buy this game, i got it for the kids and its impossible for them to play it. This game is a constant loop of deaths. Even for me its stressful and a joke of a game. This game sucked the life out of me.

Whoever created this game hates kids. And likes to see people suffer.

The game mechanics are the same, the mask power ups only help you a little bit.
the new mechanics are most of the a copycat from: crash warped, crash twinsanity, crash mind over mutant, etc.
the Pop references in game are not organic, look like a community manager. Crash personality is extra-dumb females saved the day because PC (yet they have a SJW look/ fujoshis ships forced, etc.)

    there're a lot of glitches
    control moves so bad
there're so many box to increase "diffult" but looks more like the same levels with only new mechanichs.
Character design changes totally to a cartooney style that doesn't respect the original personality of some chacarcters
    Cutscenes are forced comedy

Beautiful level design, the background and art style are brilliant. Get this, dont be a **** and complain about difficulty. Get good.

This game is the biggest train wreck possibly imaginable for such a beloved game series that (Before the N'Sane Trilogy) had been drunkenly stumbling around in the dark for a decade. The style of the original games is there but the difficulty spike is unforgivable. One of the latter levels took over 40 attempts and still couldn’t reach the end.

The mechanics of the game aren’t as precise as other platformers such as Ratchet & Clank, this element is what separates ok games from amazing games. The story is fun and engaging but it’s hard to feel that sense of fun when

Onto the game itself, in my opinion, a good comeback for crash level design is pretty challenging. The devs don't mindlessly nitro spam to "add difficulty" like traveler's tales did with Wrath of Cortex. The masks feel pretty well done. Love the mask that lets you form and reform platforms. That one imo is the hardest mask to use but at the same time fun. Crash controls fine just the weight of his jumps are kinda heavy just like in N Sane Trilogy. But overall not supper sluggish like his movements in again Wrath of Cortex. Death routes make a return in the form of these flashback tapes. The designs of the death routes are similar to Crash 1's Brio segments. So the new playable characters Dingodile, Twana are pretty nice and control well but Cortex is just awful. Imagine a **** version of how Cortex controlled in Crash Twinsanity with a tiny hop of a jump without any double-jump but with a gun that can make platforms. Probably my biggest issue is Cortex and the music in the game. The music is just...average, not as good as the original trilogy but better than the music in Travelers Tales and Radical Entertainments games. Lets just hope Toys For Bob and Vicarious Visions can keep this up and improve. Expand

Crash and Coco are tried and true platformer experience, Cortex levels are similar to puzzles requiring trial and error to figure out how to reach the destination. Dingodile has a unique smash and shooter kind of gameplay using his suction gun to glide and using tnt barrels and crates to destroy obstacles and enemies. And finally Tawna's is a combination of platformer and grappling to reach higher areas similar to Nina Cortex's gameplay in Twinsanity. Each character controls extremely well with quick responsive movements and reaction times. Each level is beautifully designed and unique with enemies and obstacles only found in each dimension. Story wise it's the best Crash game yet. The story gets really dark in some places especially Tawna's. The soundtrack is also top notch easy on par with Cortex Strikes Back and Warped's soundtracks. I honestly did not expect such a stellar game. Crash Bandicoot 4 is breathtakingly beautiful, features an amazing soundtrack full of references to the original trilogy, offers tons of content, and thrilled me to bits with its brilliant level design. What’s more, it stayed true to its gameplay roots, while introducing loads of great new mechanics. For me it’s the game of the year. I salute you, Toys For Bob! [12/2020, p.58]

Crash Bandicoot 4 is a worthy addition to the Crash legacy. It captures the spirit, fun, and challenge of the original games, and adds a lot more that genuinely makes the experience even better rather than simply padding out the gameplay. The game is certainly challenging and the levels could probably use a few more checkpoints, but the number in the game is truer to the spirit of the originals than modern gaming standards. A little perseverance will get you through the game, but it’s going to take a little work if you want to be a Crash completionist. Overall it’s a great platform game that perfectly blends the old and the new into a fun new experience.
