Colt Canyon is a refreshing experience for the start of 2021's gaming calendar. Rather than focusing on a deep story, the game gives you a hectic but rewarding gameplay loop, with a combat system that has enough variety to keep you hooked for hours on end. This game going for so cheap feels like a highway robbery.

Colt Canyon is really just what the doctor ordered to kick off 2021. A breezy and consistently satisfying twin-stick shooter roguelike with a surprising amount of depth and where gunfights, stealth murder and dynamite powered destruction go hand in hand, Colt Canyon is a smart, wild west shooter that's well worth saddling up for.

Roguelike games can sometimes feel very generic, and we’ve seen a lot of them in recent years, but the stylish pixel look combined with a subtle but effective soundtrack helps Colt Canyon stand out from the crowd, and with levels randomly generating each time you play, no landscape will ever be the same as the previous one. This offers a fantastic challenge (albeit sometimes it can be a little too tough) but you’ll keep coming back for more. [Issue@#185, p.87]

This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. If you love playing broken games that you'll never complete buy it today. A common bug known by the developer hasn't been squashed. It's known about on PC since it's release, but some reason never corrected for home console. If you like data corruption and wasting your time but this game. Happens at 2-2 everytime for me. I gave up after the fifth time and the data corruption. Plenty of my other games aren't broken so I'll play them instead. Reached out to the dev, but doesn't seem to care. Full Review »
