    The game surely is special interest with some definitive strenghts and weaknesses. Unique concept, cool ideas, maybe a struggeling execution ... Gotta give it a low rating because of catastrophic game/save game bugs that destroy your progress.

It took a little while for me to get into the game and just when I was starting to be hooked, everything is lost. And it looks like I am definitely not the only one with this issue, too.     Serious fun factor here, hindered by an absolutely awful save system and chronic system crashing more often, the further I progressed in the game. I got to day 23 and the game corrupted all my saves, so be on the lookout for that if you plan to play on PS4. Good mix of Fallout, the Forest and Control. In the beginning, I had 15 save slots, but as I progressed, it narrowed down to only 4Serious fun factor here, hindered by an absolutely awful save system and chronic system crashing more often, the further I progressed in the game.     I was really looking forward to this game but was sorely disappointed. I played the 30 minute or so intro and immediately lost interest. I must say the story itself is interesting, but the actual gameplay is trash. I’m playing the PS4 version on my PS5 and the graphics look like they are PS3-era. Most of the reviews saying the graphics are good usually come from PC players. If they come from a console player, they must’ve been playing PS2/3 for the past few years. The game also grows old very quickly and is fairly repetitive. Gun play is poor as well, inventory system takes a minute to get used to, and it feels bare bones. I wish I could get my $32 back and I would strongly suggest not getting this game at all or until significant changes are made.    … Expand

    The mechanics and realism on gameplay is good. Its only sad that it has the old school way of survival, which is limited in creativity and has small interaction with the enviroment/NPC.

    I'm reviewing the updated version with free DLC (and more is coming) but most importantly lots of patches and gameplay improvements. I think if this version released it would be getting 8s and some 9s even. The dlc is perfect btw, especially because it's free and adds a decent amount

    This game is the best kind horror game. Existential identity crisis, **** up mutants, eerie ambient music and being set in the aftermath of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.

    The game crashes a lot. The story is bizarre and not at all interesting. The graphics are okay but not great. The enemies are pinpoint accurate and stealth takedowns usually result in another enemy spotting you and an inevitable gunfight. Aiming with weapons is extremely bad, can only win down sights and it’s so imprecise. The whole concept of the game with daytime missions, nighttime foodThe game crashes a lot.     Chernobylite is not without its flaws on PS4, particularly the broken save system that corrupts older saves. It just wasn't bad enough to keep me from enjoying it immensely though. The simple fact is this is otherwise one of the most immersive survival games I've played in recent years. It's an intense daily trek exploring a real rendering of Pripyat scavenging for food, meds, supplies andChernobylite is not without its flaws on PS4, particularly the broken save system that corrupts older saves. It just wasn't bad enough to keep me from enjoying it immensely though. The simple fact is this is otherwise one of the most immersive survival games I've played in recent years. It's an intense daily trek exploring a real rendering of Pripyat scavenging for food, meds, supplies and ammo as you recruit other survivors to storm the dangers of the Chernobyl Plant in search for your lost loved one. The story and characters are great, the climax is fantastic and the gameplay is finely managed with a really good base-building system. If they can fix the save system, Chenobylite could become the best original game I've played this year.… Expand

    I played Chernobylite in 2021 and thought it was an above average game that I liked.
    However, it suffered from save file corruption, crashing and a low frame rate often.
    Also, I dislike the DLC microtransactions in this game.

    Excellent game. Good twist on survival, the horror elements are wonderful as well.

    An absolutely missed opportunity to create something out of this fascinating world of chernobyl.
    The game is technically at the level of 2005. They conceived the whole zone beautifully realistically, but that's the only thing that worked.
    The game has almost no story, the only thing you do is get out of the base on absolutely boring loot quests, round and round stealth with stupid AI.    An absolutely missed opportunity to create something out of this fascinating world of chernobyl.

    Great game. I had a lot of fun playing it for 25 hours. Good story with 2 or 3 endings. Similar to Fallout and Stalker. Very immersive, love it.

    Chernobylite would be a lovely game were it not for the data corrupting issues that forced me into safe mode on my PS4 and the game progress ending bug that doesn’t allow you to progress after a certain point. The game would be worth a play we’re it not for the absolute dismal state it’s in currently, don’t chance breaking    Warning - Do not buy this game on PS4 consoles at this time.

    I think it is a very good game with a horror and mystery atmosphere. If you like stalker games, you should definitely try it. Story is fun, shooting guys is very fun, the mix of gameplay is olso great. I recommend this game!

    Chernobylite appears to have it all: an intriguing storyline, a phenomenal world that feels authentic and begs to be explored, and exciting survival horror gameplay. Technically, it's a mess though, with an inconsistent framerate, disappointing graphics and - worst of all - a huge gamebreaking bug that deletes your progress. What a waste...

    Chernobylite is an enjoyable little loot n’ shooter sadly torpedoed by technical issues for the PS4 version. It’s such a shame that the intriguing storyline and the compulsive scavenging fun is completely ruined by bugs. I was looking forward to uncovering the dark mysteries lurking within Pripyat, but until the game-breaking errors are fixed, they will have to remain hidden.

    Chernobylite combines some cool ideas and implements them in a way that complements the story it wants to tell. Several issues stand in its way, with potential save corruption acting as the biggest road block. Once that issue gets patched out, the core experience will offer up something unique, even if many of its gameplay elements lack depth.
