A side scrolling rpg with all the elements that make this game a gem in my collection. Vivid bit graphics and aggressive encounters make for a nostalgic challenge. I was not disappointed. One particular game mechanic however at times was discouraging. Fret not though. A little perseverance was rewarding. World class job Bit Kid! Keep it up.

Amazing old school metroidvania, feels and looks like classic game in every single moment.

I played this the whole way through, incredibly smooth controls, a fun plot, and while there IS some backtracking, the game makes it rather simple and keeps it fun even with the backtracking. One complaint I would say I have
is poor difficulty balancing. Easy feels like baby mode, whereas Normal feels more like Hard mode, and Hard feels like Expert. All in all though, a great hidden gem

The tense fights leave you with sweaty palms and an elevated heart rate, keeping you glued to the action as you venture ever deeper below ground.

While Chasm doesn’t offer anything particularly new to the genre, it does deliver intricate locations and satisfying swordplay in spades. [Issue#153, p.86]

Despite its flaws, there's still a lot of fun to be had with Chasm. Exploring and finding new secrets is satisfying but traversing the same areas multiple times is not. The combat is also a mixed bag as some enemies are enjoyable to fight and others are a chore.
