Jul 5, 2020Celeste is a great 2d platformer with phenomonal music and fun gameplay. It's controls and graphics are very simplistic, and the design of each level is easy figure out but difficult to master. It's like a smoother Shovel Knight without the combat and upgrades that's completely focused on platforming and collectibles. I would recommend listening to the soundtrack first.

Apr 30, 2018Just here to fix the rating cap. This game is absolutely amazing. Great story and great gameplay and AMAZING soundtrack. You will enjoy this game no matter who you are. And if you don't like difficult games, don't worry. There's an assist mode that can be turned on and off. Please play this game. It really is a masterpiece.

May 21, 2018I did not expect such incredible storytelling from a platformer. That and the music gave me chills many times. Then there's the gameplay... it's hard. But usually fair. The feeling of overcoming this games greatest challenges is awesome. Celeste is the darksouls of 2d platformers :P
Would have loved to see a level editor though. -

Mar 13, 2018Absolutely loved it
Tight controls that never bugged out on me, fun evolving level design that never felt unfair, and a suprisingly engaging story. -
Sep 27, 2018precioso juego de principio a fin todo un reto con una historia conmovedora.

Oct 2, 2018Run, jump, air-jump, reset, repeat. It's a good game for its genre but its genre it relatively overdone lately and it's repetitive. If you are in for a platformer of the basic style with some modern touches here and there go for it but don't expect anything revolutionary or original or varying.

Mar 29, 2018After 30 years of this genre, I expected something a little more interesting. The difficulty controls are nice, but the gameplay is outdated and the content repetitive. A little more effort on the visuals would've been appreciated as well, in an age of truly impressive art styles in other games, but not here.
I feel like I played better games than this decades ago. -

Apr 18, 2018Don't pay attention to the user score (6.1 as of writing). The game is very good. If you are a fan of platformers you should definitely play it. The people giving negative scores are most likely bad.
Check the Steam scores and read reviews from people with taste. -
Jul 11, 2018It's like a gateway but you decide where to. I've always sucked at platformers, and I don't know yet if I'm going to pick up more games after Celeste but I'm so, so happy I played it. Amazing game.

May 1, 2018Really creative. The story is fantastic, cool old school platformer fun, and its proudly Canadian. There is a banff springs hotel level even.

Mar 27, 2018Celeste is not a frustrating but challenging game, because of that the accessibility that comes from is innovative for indie games.

Nov 7, 2018Easily the best platform since SMB. Engaging story, addictive (yet rage-inducing at times) gameplay, and a soundtrack that has yet to be matched late into 2018. Though greatly difficult at times, the game feels honest at all times, and makes one's successes feel that much more satisfying.

Mar 19, 2018Celeste is an beautiful, optimistic game about how triumph can outweigh any number of failures. It's about reconciling your pain, frustrations and defeats. It's about getting better, in every sense.
-
Mar 14, 2018Celeste is one of the most entertaining 2D platformers in recent years. It'll defeat you from time to time, but its inviting controls, level design, and presentation will keep you coming back until you persevere and overcome every challenge thrown your way.

Feb 27, 2018Celeste has a couple of hiccups in its aesthetics and tech, but the core of what Matt Thorson and his team have made contains a wonderful story of endurance and resilience for both the characters and the player, that begs not to be missed.
