music: another pattern from atlus but how can i say, more mature?

A brilliant remaster one of the best game on PS3 (in my opinion). This is not just lazy port (Final Fantasy VIII meh). Atlus improved many element from basic game. Only downside is too much blur for me, but is not that bad like in Control. Many QoL (Quality off Live) improvements in gameplay. The new character Rin is very interesting, i liked her. for her personality and
childish innocence. Except that Atlus Added new endings and cutscenes ( Vincent flashbacks are awesome, but too short, and too rare), added new game difficulty Safety (god mode, perfect for those who want get into the story) and new soundtracks (new OST from Persona 5, Persona 4 Golden, Persona 4 Arena and from Project Re Fantasy, example my favourite ,,Brake Out'' from P4 Ultimax or SNOWFLAKES from P4 Golden). Game is a bit easier than original (bosses moves bit slower, Rin temporarily freeze blocks falling, Auto Run mode to the place of your death - u can turn on/off that in options). Title run much smoother than PS3 version (i think game runs in 60 fps most of the time, even in PS4 Slim). I got only few mini freezes when Rin played on the piano in puzzle mode. If u are ATLUS/Persona games fan instant buy this now !!! If u not, subtract the point from the assessment, and buy it if u like logic/Visual Novel games.

I don't want to waste your time writing about how wonderful Catherine is, for that you should check some old reviews of the original game, I'll just say that it is a fantastic game and that you should give it a try. It has a really solid story, great acting, solid gameplay with great puzzles and incredible music. They could very well put this game on HD and sell it again, but they really improved themselves. They added a new love interest and it's way more than an after thought, I was expecting a new segment, but it was integrated in the regular game. They added a bunch of features in the whole package, like the remix mode and new features on the easy mode if you just want to enjoy the story. The game has new cutscenes, music, dialogues, etc. This is how the industry should release old games! Expand

Once again, I empty my bank account for a big box of goodies from ATLUS. The thing about the first Catherine is that it was mostly just to test a new engine possibly for Persona 5, but as the actual story around the game's mechanics grew, so too did the game's cult following. Playing it again makes me feel like I really have been transported back in time to when game publishers didn't want every conceivable and inconceivable penny from you. The game is almost the same, but with an HD upgrade and a new character with her own side story connected to the main character Vincent. I have yet to finish it, but so far it is just as good as the original! Expand

Easily one of the most well-crafted games ever made. The game screams polish, with an excellent story and gameplay loop, it's hard to feel bored while playing.

In short. This is the most unique game. Nothing like it. We have lots and lots of shooting games, RPG, car racing ... etc. But this one is very VERY unique. It's a must play, and the story is so interesting. I loved it on PS3, and I love it even more on PS4.

Entertaining from start to finish, with a fun and VERY well done story, filled with great main and side characters, just oozing joy throughout the entire campaign. The pacing flows relatively fast, dialogues are clever, optional objectives feel natural, the soundtrack is amusing, anime cutscenes are beautiful, puzzles are challenging and the mysterious story keeps you gripped until the end. I was, surprisingly, emotionally involved with the decisions I was forced to make. Few games make me feel like this nowadays.

But although I did love the different outcomes that the story can reach, I was a bit disappointed with how they handled the repeat journey, on subsequent playthroughs. If each route had dedicated major varieties, puzzles and unique cutscenes, Catherine would've been an easy 10.
Also, I loved the puzzles, but things can get pretty annoying, since the controls are quite messy and restarting a level is infuriating.

Despite the game's journey losing a bit of its novelty after you beat it on the first time, Catherine is a MUST! Even if you find the gameplay frustrating or don't care much for it, the charming design, cast and plot will DEFINITELY dominate you 'til the credits roll.

El original de PS3 ya es burtal, este esta muy bien... un poquito de variedad con la 3a incorporacion del elenco femenino pero con poco cambio.
Si el original te gusto este igual.

Catherine: Full Body is just as charming and delightful to play as it was back when it originally released. Even when you aren't pushing and pulling blocks in one of the most unique puzzle systems I've ever had the joy of experiencing, the game remains engaging and fun. 10/10, would recommend. :)

This Game has a brilliant story and doesn't overstay it's welcome at all! The puzzles are nice and the story will mess with your head. The only thing that I personally disliked was the puzzle back side camera and the blurriness that was added at the bar. Besides those two things the game was outstanding.

Also a nice touch to the LGBT community in the game, that's all I can say without

This game is great if your open minded and likening Japanese anime will help too.

It’s basically puzzle game that is easy to grasp, but hard to master. But this puzzle game has a crazy, but cool and interesting story wrapped around it.

Awful. A dumpster fire of misogyny and transphobia. Considering the gameplay only serves to prop up the story, there's nothing of value here.

All around really fun puzzle game, which can get unforgivingly difficult on harder modes. Pretty darn good story too. It really tries to involve the player with ethical and moral dilemmas being brought up by the games narrative.

Atlus made a great work, like they did with every game after all. I think that this game is a unique experience, with many finals and way to express the game, everyone's is different. Its gameplay is various and you'll never get bored with it. I'm gonna say it again, great job Atlus.

I think the original Catherine is a masterpiece. Unfortunately their attempt to expand the story for this PS4 port could not deliver the same level of quality story/gameplay as the first game. The rest of the story does not flow as well due to her inclusion, and the ultimate story resolution is lackluster when we finally find out her backstory. Other elements holding back this port is lighting, where the original had this creepy dark atmosphere, this port uses updated lighting making everything brighter and more cartoonish at times. Additionally, certain parts of the game are now censored for some heavier themes (and other times for little jokes that are suddenly deemed inappropriate). I recommend you seek out the original game on PS3 or Steam rather than playing this port. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The ending honestly does not feel like a victory if you answer like a good person. You beat the boss and after that you are left with more questions than answers. Other than that the rest of the game is a great adventure with relatable characters and things to do. Expand

base Catherine is great, if this just was a graphical upgrade and a few more cut-scenes but the ending for this is so bad it is almost entirely incomprehensible, just buy the base game so you don't waste extra money on a downgrade, its so **** bad

Loved the original of this game. 9/10. But found this rerelease a bit of a cash grab aimed at the LBGT gamers. Story is excellent, game play great, but puzzles / game levels can be problematic if your not an experienced player. this version gets a 7/10

It can be seen as an erotic horror mystery game based on Succubus in Europe during the Middle Ages.
Actually, I think the European Succubus in the Middle Ages would have done this.

Not even close to Persona 5. I would say “just ok, not more”. Did not enjoyed game process much. Story nothing too special. Big thanks that if you want to see all endings, solves riddles again not necessary, can be skipped.

Loved the original and that is all still there, did not feel the new character added enough variation in the story, I also felt the re-release could have done more to allow for a branching story early on. Still a great game but not really a required re-buy like P5 Golden.

Great game with a huge focus on story, characters, and world-building. I don't remember the last time when the story absorbed me so much. Yes, there are few bugs here are there, but nothing game-breaking. Usually minor visual glitches.

Overall Catherine: Full Body is a great experience built for both new players and veteran players alike. Not settling for a simple remaster, Atlus really pulled out all the stops at making this worth the money. Even as bad as I was, it was still a fun time. With all the different endings I think I’ll return to the game on an easier difficulty to experience it all, because the writing is so good and the gameplay is challenging but when in a good flow it can be highly addictive. Anyone like me who may have skipped over Catherine’s original release should remedy that with Full Body.

New endings mean the leading ladies feel slightly more fleshed-out, but those aforementioned old chestnuts have deep roots in the game’s numerous and extremely varied – er – routes. That is to say, it’s more of the same. Obviously that’s not a bad thing but, like marriage, it won’t be for everyone. [Issue@168, p.92]

Full Body is another proof that Atlus and Shigenori Soejima are master storytellers, presenting this remake of cult PS3 classic as another improved lunge into depths of human emotion. It is funny, witty, dark and serious at the same time, all while pushing the player through difficult(or not so much on Safety mode) puzzle sequences, with some of the greatest OSTs rolling in the background.
