    A year-and-a-half later and Castlestorm is still a complete blast to play. The added content and updated visuals round out an already stellar package. As long as you can get used to the controls, this is one that will keep you entertained time and time again.

    While the multiplayer is devoid of willing participants and the frequency with which I accidentally kill my own soldiers is annoying, there is nothing to stop Castlestorm from being anything but great, great fun.

    The bright visuals pop and sing thanks to the increased power and the game runs as smooth as butter at all times. Addictive and entertaining, CastleStorm’s mix of fairytale whimsy and challenging strategy – as well as its mishmash of play styles – makes it a solid and enticing prospect whatever the platform.

    It’s a unique title, with enough small improvements that players who passed on the original version may want to consider taking another look – but without cross buy, it may be a difficult game to sell to anyone other than the most devoted of tower defense fans.

    Essentially, this is the same game as before. If you’ve sold off your PS3 and want to play this game again, then it’s a complete package for $14.99.

    This is a fun game, nothing more, nothing less. Visually it is good and there is lots of content. Too bad the controls are a bit too sensitive, because other than that, this is a very funny game.

    Castlestorm: Definitive Edition is exactly that – a remastered edition of an enjoyable game. Bar some issues with the controls the game offers an enjoyable mix of tower defense, RTS and action all wrapped up in a fun exterior. There’s probably little here to convince owners of the original game to double-dip, but for newcomers there’s a huge amount of content which should keep you coming back for some time.

    An interesting mix of different genres that managed to entertain us the whole way through. The mediocre story, annoying soundtrack and at times chaotic gameplay keep it from reaching the absolute top.

    Still, when it lays off the screwballs and offers a straight-up fight, CastleStorm: Definitive Edition is solidly entertaining.

    A game that you should only buy if you don't have any of the other versions. Aside from that, a game with little ambition that you could even play with an Android or iOS smartphone, since it has its own version.

    It makes for a great entry-level experience for those looking to break in on the ground floor of tower-defence but if you’ve already dabbled with the genre – or played Castlestorm on last-gen consoles – then there may not be enough here for you.

    For $9.99, there’s a ton of things to see and do in CastleStorm, but as they say, too much of something can be a bad thing.

Озвучка хорошая, она хорошо передает колорит персонажей: викинги- показывают свое бесстрашие и буйство, рыцари- показывают свою верность и честь. Музыка хорошая. Идея с четырёх сторонней настройкой своего арсенала мне понравилась. Перед обычной игрой игрок настраивает: снаряды в баллисте, магические заклинания, войска и специальные комнаты. В игре есть опция постройки своего замка(от него зависят войска и спец. комнаты). Сам игровой процесс занимательный. Воины идут друг на друга, рубятся, стреляются, баллисты стреляют всяким, замки ломаются. Мне не понравилась третья и четвертая компания. В итоге мне игра понравилась, за её волшебную атмосферу, которая получается из ранее приведённых пунктов.… Full Review »

    I'm giving it a light recommend, but only at $2-$3. I would not recommend it at full price.

    This is a mobile game at its core, and as such, the price should match.

    It just isn't for me, but I can see how people would like it. It takes parts of two popular genres, melds them effectively, and has a nice art style and humor.

    I think I got it in a bundle which resulted in it being $1 or less, which is about what it is worth imo.    … Full Review »

It's a tower defence sim with some nice graphics and good character voices etc.
    The main campaign is lengthy enough for the price tag and there's just enough strategy involved to make this a game you can come back to.
    Unfortunately, there's just something a little repetitive within it, and therefore dull. The angry bird mechanics of harpooning incoming troops and fast clicking more troop production becomes repetitive and systematic, to the point that once you know the pattern to follow on any given level, it's just a matter of time till you win. I'm also a hater of Angry Birds, therefore lining up endless shots becomes less challenging and more mind numbing.

    I'd recommend this as a strategy game for younger gamers because my nephew aged 10 loves this. But as an older gamer this feels like the sort of bargain-bucket game I'd pick up from steam and play for a day then delete, so as a PS4 title in my opinion it's just not good enough.

    If it's in a sale under £3 I'd say give it a blast, but at £13 that I paid, no.    … Full Review »
