Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium's more eclectic offering is excellent. With a familiar presentation, array of extras, and wealth of options; it's a fitting follow-up to last year's incredible collection of arcade treasures so if you enjoyed that then definitely play this, too.

Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium is a spectacular follow-up to its predecessor. It is packed full of different arcade experiences covering a variety of genres and years, while also introducing some new features that help bring a bit more fun to the journey. As with any journey, it’s not always smooth sailing, but for the most part, it’s good.

Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium has a perfect curation of classic arcade games. It's almost impossible to find one that's mediocre or boring. Technically, this installment far exceeded the previous one. While the customization values haven't improved, they're functional enough to enjoy the experience in more than one mode. It's worth giving it a try for more than just the nostalgia factor.

A superior collection to the first Arcade Stadium, this is an excellent way to revisit 8 your youth and/or discover quality games that you never knew existed. [Issue#18, p.91]

Capcom brings us back, once again, to the golden age of arcades with another collection of authentic old-school coin-op games that delivers more than we expected.

Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium might not be as essential as its predecessor, and you might wonder why these games couldn’t have just been delivered as DLC, but it’s still a fantastic retro collection.

A worthy follow-up to the original coin-op collection but the selection of games never feels quite as varied or vital, and the continued lack of museum features is a shame.

Retrogaming is back in charge with a new, very rich bundle prepared by Capcom.

The crossover between Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium and last month’s Capcom Fighting Collection is bizarre, but there’s more than enough additional content in this compilation to justify a double-dip. While we wish the publisher would have integrated more social features to make the pursuit of high scores more fulfilling, the reality is that retro game enthusiasts will want to revisit much of what this package has to offer.

Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium shouldn’t have much difficulty finding an audience. For folks like me who grew up in the arcades, there are plenty of nostalgic hits here that will motivate a purchase. Thankfully, gamers can purchase titles individually or as a full collection. It might be hard to justify buying the whole collection if you already own Capcom Fighting Collection. This was poor planning on Capcom’s part. Despite this, there is plenty of other content to enjoy here, including a variety of titles that can be played with a second player. I believe that this collection should have been released as more DLC for the Capcom Arcade Stadium. Still, I’m grateful to finally get a chance to play, and replay, these classic games.

Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium shows that Capcom has created so many memorable arcade games that it takes more than one collection to hold them. The variety of games that span decades and genres provide something for everyone, though fighters and shooters seem to occupy most of the real estate in this arcade. Whether this collection is used to revisit childhood favorites or discover games before one’s time, there are opportunities for dozens of hours of entertainment. Options like being able to adjust to the display to either fill the television or create the illusion of an arcade cabinet are nice modernizations, as is the ability to adjust difficulty and other settings of each game. For retro gaming fans this collection is the next best thing to having a dedicated room filled with arcade machines.

Though structurally identical to the previous Capcom Arcade Stadium collection of retro goodies, Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium nonetheless remains an easy recommendation thanks to its assemblage of still enjoyable and well emulated classics that are given the sort of love and sheen that each has long deserved.

Another wonderful retro compilation from Capcom. It's sorely lacking in supplementary behind-the-scenes content, and it's a shame it couldn't have just been a big DLC pack for the first Arcade Stadium, but what's here is a nice, varied selection of vintage coin-op titles.

Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium is a fairly robust collection that, complete or with chosen titles, will offer a nostalgia bath for players who lived through the golden days of Arcades. In addition to presenting several important titles for a new generation, it complements, diversifies and expands the collection released in the previous package.

The emulation is perfect and it has many display options and unlockables. Its value, of course, depends on how nostalgic we are.

Another nostalgic compilation from Capcom with a robust miscellaneous of arcade games, glued together by a shiny old-school interface and a wide range of visual options. Some of the titles are already available in other collections, but this time each one can be purchased separately.

Not a bad successor to the previous title, Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium delivers yet another batch of renowned classic arcade games. It delivers perfect emulation and a number of modern-day improvements. Maybe a couple of fighting games could have been left out in favour of something different, but there is no doubt anyone can find at least a few games up their alley in this collection.

Even if some titles would have deserved to be modified (because present in the Capcom Fighting Collection compilation), we must admit that the result is frankly coherent and convincing.

Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium stands out for its accessibility features and the classic arcade vibes it brings to the table. It can also be said that it's an evolution from the first entry of the series. However, it has many limitations, both on content and performance, and the players may feel bored after a few hours.

For those who merely dabble in arcade classics, then the way to go may be to hand-pick the games you want to play and checkout with a cheaper cart in hand. There are some real highlights in this collection that would be a shame to miss out on for a gamer of any flavor.

Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium is a beautifully presented package which includes a decent strike rate of two thirds bangers to a third of borderline unplayable turds.

Another bunch of good-old games from Capcom. Most of the 32 titles included in this 2nd Stadium have already been published in other collections so think about it only if you're an hardcore fan of the “Big C”... or purchase the preferred ones as single purchases.

Fans of arcade games, and especially of arcade lineage, will find a lot to find in Arcade 2nd Stadium, which stands as a great testament to just how far video games have come as a medium.

With 32 games included, most players are going to be able to find a few titles to fall in love with in Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium. With more duds in the lineup this time around, though, combined with a higher percentage of the collection being featured in recent collections you may already own, the value proposition is a lot harder to judge. Thankfully, this time around, Capcom are letting you buy just the individual games you want from the start. Most players with a love of classic arcade games will want to grab at least a few titles from this collection, even if the collection as a whole isn’t quite the no-brainer some of Capcom’s recent classic offerings have been.

    Bad-
If you have no interest in arcade games there is not much here for you. A fair few of the games do not hold up well at all. Mainly only valued as time capsules for old games

    Thoughts-
So, yes – if you’re an enthusiast of the medium, or a fan of Capcom’s arcade glory day? Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium is well worth your time, and I would say it’s worth it to check out most, if not all, of the games. A lot of them may not have held up as well, but even they hold some value as a sort of time capsule. Video games have come a long way since the heyday of the arcade – but that doesn’t mean we have to forget the medium’s roots, after all. Capcom certainly isn’t.
