With the next Call of Duty being released this October or maybe a couple months after October i think its time to write a review about this game. For theWith the next Call of Duty being released this October or maybe a couple months after October i think its time to write a review about this game. For the campaign part of the game i must say that I really enjoyed my time playing not just because of the characters but it has the grittiness and the awful things of war but its just the same like every other call of duty campaign. For the multiplayer section, I kust say as a fan of the series since 2007 and a person who played almost every interaction of Call of Duty, this is probably the most boring and slowest experience ive ever played. The maps are too big and there is a unreasonably amount of Doors, Windows and just corners and placed that shouldn’t be there. They punish you for moving and they reward the players who camp in a building with a shotgun/LMG/AR. They did however bring back classic old maps but they ruin almost every single one of them with them adding buildings and doors that shouldn’t be there. On the contrary, the micro transactions have been handled almost beautifully and the fact that they are giving us free maps and guns at the same time on the all the platforms really makes this game nice. Another big core thing that the Developers messed with are the spawns. Out of all my time of playing this game and the past games, the spawns here are NOTHING like they were ever. For example if you have a teammate in the enemy spawn, you have a high chance of spawning on that teammate while you should have spawned back where the other 4 teammates are. On top of that, the spawn system causes you too lose and gain map control to which if you are a competitive player, you know how huge map control is and how important it can be to win games. Also the graphics of this game are the best in any Call Of Duty game. I also LOVED how they did the gunsmith in the game and it is beautiful with how creative you can make your gun. Also all of the camouflages in the game are nice but sadly the amount of stuff you have to do to earn every single camouflage is just time consuming and utterly annoying. For example some challenges like mounting kills are retarded and just awful. However if you do all the camouflage challenges for ALL base launch guns in the game, you will earn this rare camouflage and as much as i love the camouflage and all its not worth doing the WHOLE process. Also, they did add mastery challenges but sadly in my opinion they are not worth it and the obsidian camouflage that you get is also nothing special but its not that hard to get and isn’t that cool. Another thing i want to add is the time period that the game is based in. Now i’m not a military expert or have any experience but as far as I am concerned nothing of the equipment/guns seem too far fetch or unrealistic. Another thing is the kill-streaks. Now as much as I love kill-streaks and all i think that score-streaks were better due to having people play objective more. Another thing about the kill-streak system was the fact that you can’t lap your streaks constantly and can only earn them once. As much as get why they made that decision, i think it was awful and it not be in the game. Now Warezone however is honestly AWESOME and so much fun. Don’t get me wrong, there are tons and tons of issues in Warezone but in my opinion, i had more fun playing Warezone than Blackout back in Black ops 4. The last section of the fame is spec Ops. Now even though i don’t have much play time in spec ops, i must say that its fun for awhile and can help you pass the time, but its nothing like the traditional zombies me and a-lot of people are used to. All in All, out of all of the Call of Duty’s that came out in the past 5 or even 10 years, this has got to be the worst iteration of Call of Duty not just for me, but people like me who’ve been playing this series for a LONG time find this game boring with the maps, spawns, and honestly the way the Developers handle with these issues too. The Story is fine, but sadly it gets completely overshadowed by the multiplayer, which is a campers paradise. I am quite an old player in the CoD franchise and honestly this game is one of the worst i played, if not the worst. The game was profitable only because Warzone was released.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Worst Call of duty game in franchise history! I was never a fan of the recent call of duty games such as BO3 and 4. Or any of the futuristic looking jetpack wearing, running on walls, exosuit wearing games. So when I first heard the modern warfare franchise was coming back, I was beyond ecstatic...but then I played the game. There where so many bugs with it (that eventually got patched), but you can’t really expect anything else from a new game. Then month after month I witnessed the game getting worse and worse after each update. Now, almost 10 months in, the game is completely and utterly unplayable. Jump into a hardcore game and you get more hitmarkers than in warzone or Battlefield or even in Apex. And that’s the best part of the game that’s the f’ed up part. There are several instances where your shoot at somebody and the bullets just doesn’t connect even though when you record it or watch the killcam, you can see the bullets go through the enemy and hit the wall behind them. The ADS speed on pistols are RIDICULOUS. You can basically sprint and go into full on ADS, shoot, kill the guy, and back into tactical sprint within 0.000000001 second. And they can compete with snipers on long range as well as ARs and SMGs in mid range fights. Therefore the 1 % that is actually moving in this game are running around with pistols and there are no way to counter them 1v1. The maps are horrible and have been requested by the majority to be fixed, same with sounds and camping, but IW refuse to make the game playable. All in effort to cater to bad players. Which is where SBMM comes in to play. The way they solved SBMM is the second worst idea ever by developers. Right behind how they created Modern warfare 2019. It’s currently season 5 and for each patch, the game just gets worse and worse. I’ve gone back to older games just to make sure it wasn’t just my aim and tactics that had gotten worse, but when I constantly go WAY positive on older games where the game is balanced and have a good accuracy during more or less every game....then it’s not on me anymore. Then it’s just the game that needs to be fixed. If you still haven’t bought the game, but are considering buying it... go eat tide pods or something, because that’s way more fun than playing this game. It’s not meant for players to get better, rather it’s meant for people to sit still and remain trash and toxic. Would not recommend even to my worst enemy Expand

Game is the worst of the franchise, there is no skill gap you can pick up the weapon and shoot it with pretty much 0 recoil off the bat. A very fun game marred by hideously large updates, broken updates and a greedy publisher that does not care about the quality of its game but instead adding more features/feature creep when the foundation is not stable.

Its call of duty. It plays like every other call of duty game though the slight mechanical and engine changes are a nice touch to making the game feel slightly fresher.

Rather than reiterating what cod is about here are some of the key points that are relevant to both the ps4 and pc version (But predominantly the pc). In addition I'll only be referring to multiplayer and warzone since despite having played hundreds of hours of this game I haven't touched the campaign yet.

    Pro's:
    - Rock solid framerate
    - Generally nice graphics (generally is key with weird ass ailiasing and the general shade of brown)
    - Satisfying gun play
    - Dope sound design with excellent telegraphing and punchy gunshots
    - A genuinely fun battle royale mode which is free to play with plenty of opportunities to jump back into the game rather than having to sit by idly (gulag is obviously a meme but it does make the game better)

    Cons:
    - Crashes a lot
    - Updates are broken. It is 19:15, I have been downloading the update since 12:30 and I still have 51.72gb to go. This is an unacceptable issue as its practically occured with every season update.
    - Unreasonable update sizes. Season 5 is 54gb for pc and 36gb for ps4. My friend who plays on ps4 has had to delete everything else off of her system just to play call of duty which is ridiculous.
-If you don't buy into battle passes then your sense of reward for playing the game will diminish pretty fast.
    - Bugged challenges/objectives. i have attempted to progress a warzone intel challenge 18 times now yet the game doesn't even register that I've done it.
    - I WILL REITERATE AGAIN. SO MANY BUGS. UPDATES THE SIZE OF STANDALONE AAA GAMES, UPDATES YOU CAN'T DOWNLOAD AND SO MANY CRASHES.

I genuinely love playing this game and I say that as a person who despises activisions unethical activities as a company. But it's so marred by problems that make the experience not only unfun but insulting.

Get your thumb out your rear activision and give your devs time to fix the fundemental problems of the game. Though that doesn't give you another giant pile of cash so you'd rather have them spewing out season passes instead.

As far as the story mode itself, it's actually really good but i wouldn't doubt the CIA slides some money to IW/Activision to portray Russians and other people the way they did.

Now the multiplayer is straight trash, but i will recognize that they designed to be this way, it's still trash though. Metas dominate this game, guns that have been nerfed multiple times still beam, camp fests,

Warzone was good for the first two weeks then everyone started camping on rooftops and buy stations, setting up traps, snipers literally everywhere. It's a shame because the game had so much potential to be the best CoD. Also $24 for a skin bundle is highway robbery but lots of people buy them so i guess yall got it made.

Honestly i do play the game frequently because i just want some simple, arcade shooter fun but I can't take this game seriously at all. I basically just troll with shotguns and explosives

    Multiplayer: 4/10
Map design is horrible, the majority are way to big and you can go long without hearing gunshots and finding anybody, weapon customization is very good I will give them that, gunfight, infected and gun game are probably the best game modes, the rest are extremely boring due to high amounts of campers, there are way to much broken weapons that players take advantage of, and high amounts of hackers in both multiplayer and warzone, many mechanics simply don't fit call of duty yet they added them anyway and overall the multiplayer is bad

    Co-op: 1/10
This may seem harsh to many of you but once you play it you will see why I gave it this score, it is so disgustingly bad it was a pain to play it, for starters operations are extremely repetitive, secondly most perks are useless, scavenger is probably the only useful perk, thirdly it is extremely hard, enemies are so hard to kill yet they can lazer you in seconds and mounting your gun doesn't help at all, fourthly it is extremely bugged, fortunately you don't need to play it to get platinum trophy

    Warzone: 7/10
Im not gonna lie, warzone is the best battle royale game, it is extremely fun with friends and very addictive, teamwork and communication is key and that is what makes warzone so good, solo warzone is pretty boring and warzone rumble is boring depending on the map, if you get a good map it is awesome, grinding is worth it and overall warzone is good

In conclusion, modern warfare has a very good campaign, a multiplayer that struggles with mechanics that just don't work with cod, lazy developers in spec ops but lots of fun in warzone

This game HAD so much potential. The mechanics are there, and the graphics are beautiful. But the game has been irreversibly ruined by bafflingly bad map design, rampant imbalance issues, and over-emphasis on camping and exploiting, probably because of its near-instant TTK (most weapons 1 or 2-shot, with some underpowered SMGs 3-shotting).
And that's just the multiplayer. I didn't pay

And that's just the multiplayer. I didn't pay much attention to the story in Campaign. Probably because it was so boring, and often flat-out historically wrong. This game is a step in a good direction towards future Call of Duty. This is the best Call of Duty I have played since Black Ops 2.

Graphics - This game is graphically really great. I'm a console player and get a lot of unloaded textures when spawning in. This is not the worst thing in the world but I thought this was worth knowing. I just thought this deserves it's own section.

Story - I enjoyed playing the story, but didn't really care for the plot itself and why I was doing what I was doing. The new characters were not very memorable. Not really much else to talk about for me.

Co-Op - This mode is rather difficult unless you have an organized team. It had a good start with a new mission each season with each mission proving to be difficult. The two most recent missions they added as of writing this had the same mission which we had previously played but even harder. This turned me away from playing that mode as it just became too difficult. I have not played the survival modes that much, as I personally have not found any incentive to do so, therefore, I cannot speak for this mode. If you really want to know, I played it twice and found it repetitive. I got to round 30 in survival mode and got bored because I didn't find an increase in difficulty over time, so I just purposefully died.

Warzone- A pleasant surprise addition to the game. I did not think Activision was capable of making a mode for free and I'm glad it is as it was greatly increase the longevity of the mode. Great addition to the game. I personally love the idea of dying and going to the gulag. The mode for me personally is difficult without teammates, but is still enjoyable. None of the locations to me are interesting though, making me unsure of a good place to land. Most of the buildings are repetitive, but expected with a map that size. I would like to have more map changes.

Multiplayer - The multiplayer aspect of this game I think is the game's strong suit. Good gun-play with nice new door and lean mechanics. Not a fan of a lot of the maps. I only like around 4 of the 12 or however many maps. I like the progression of no prestige and the goal of getting Gold, Platinum and Damascus. I would have liked the progression to stop there, but no just more pain with Obsidian camo. I would like for more party game modes to be a permanent mode in the playlist. Although I like the door and lean mechanics, I feel like it rewards campers which slow down the gun-play. That being said, a lot of the guns are overpowered and viable to use (except most pistols imo). Call of Duty's store I think has been a success being cosmetic only as opposed to supply drops. The customization of your classes are really good and actually change how the gun plays out.

Other - This game has been really buggy with constant server lag and players viewing enemies before the enemy has the other player on screen. My PC friends have experienced a lot of hacked lobbies which have hindered their ability to play the game. The UI in lobby can be a bit confusing (For example how to manage a party and kick players).

Would be nice to have a vote for maps.

Not much of a multiplayer guy unless it’s with friends, but it’s the best CoD we’ve had in years. I loved the campaign, and the gunplay. It’s the most true-to-life fps we’ve had since Battlefield 3. It’s no Black Ops or the original Modern Warfare, though, but more than good enough to keep my CoD thirst quenched, and that’s something I can’t say for most of the recent ones.

Everything is upside down. Call of Duty has a better solo campaign than multiplayer after many years. We will remember a perfectly scripted war with a dense atmosphere, but we’ll forget about the unbalanced online multiplayer. [Issue#298]

After a multiplayer-centric episode, the COD fans will be delight with the return of a nervous and strong solo campaign. Modern Warfare is back with old-fashioned gameplay that is more grounded and efficient. The generous amount of content adds some depth to one of the best chapters of the saga to date. Magic!

Overall Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a good title that is marred by the expectations that the Modern Warfare name brings with it. The campaign has some really stellar gameplay moments that are brought down by the mediocre plot. Multiplayer was fun but felt a bit like the competition’s output (despite there being no Battlefield release this year) which may be a turn off for some. I don’t think Modern Warfare 2019 has done anything to make me rethink waiting for substantial price drops to play Call of Duty campaigns, because clearly multiplayer is still Activision’s main focus and that’s just not where I get my kicks.
