The campaign is absolutely insane (in a good way). The characters are very well written and there are many very memorable moments in many of the missions. I can't go into detail because of spoilers but its the best COD campaign since COD 4 (but not better than COD 4). Some people are complaining that the Russians in this game are seen as terrorists or it is spreading anti-Russia propaganda even though its just a video game and this is just a pathetic way people try to pull politics into a game and also the people complaining about this are just lazy and can't open their eyes to see the actual game, play it and make an actual review on every part like i am doing. If you don't like the themes and story of the game don't play the game and definitely don't go and write a 0 star review just because of how the Russians are portrayed, you are not telling a truthful review of the game your just pulling politics into the game and misleading others. Other then uneducated people giving the campaign a bad name, its great and i hope that Infinity Ward makes a sequel to it in their next game.

The multiplayer is fun and spec ops is amazing. Survival is amazing but it sucks that its only available for PS4 until October 2020 and that is the only reason why i scored 9/10 instead of 10/10, but this isn't infinity ward's fault. Survival had some bugs when it first released and one of the maps are very bad but has now been fixed and is amazing.

Multiplayer is very toxic but its COD so i mean what do you expect.. The new game engine is amazing and works very well with COD's formula. The maps are great and range from small with tight spaces to very large and open areas. Ground war is everything that i wanted from COD, even though some people are criticizing it for "copying battlefield", i don't care. Even if the ground war mode copied battlefield you have to admit that it is just dumb fun action, which is what i would expect out of COD and i hope that is what other people expect.

Overall MW 2019 is the best COD since MW2, with a brilliant campaign and amazing Multiplayer/Spec Ops. Even though Activision blocked people on Xbox and PC from survival for a year after release, its fun for the people that play it now.

I WILL not do Infinity Ward the disservice of review bombing this game. That would be completely unfair to those who put countless hours into its creation. The game was stable and running like clockwork on launch for me and I've had no crashes and very few bugs, all of them so minor I'd barely pay any attention to them.

The campaign was much more in line with what I expected from a MODERN Modern Warfare game. It was by no means dumbed down, being downright uncomfortable to watch at times (this is a very good thing coming from the series that brought you the "Press F to Pay Respects" meme). The cast was diverse while not feeling like forced political pandering, and I actually found myself being invested in them much more than I have been in any previous Call of Duty game's characters. The gameplay itself also feels fantastic, with weapons and movement feeling like what call of duty has always been striving for; enough realism for everything to carry some weight but spiced up a bit to look pretty and be more accessible.

I DO have gripes with this game, hence the 6/10. The issues I do have are with some missing ore janky feature within the game. For instance, (playing on pc) I can go into my options, and pick between controller or Keyboard+mouse. Once I enter matchmaking, I am locked to my choice and the game does its best to put me only with other players using controller. This is fine, It keeps things more balanced. BUT, if not enough players with the same device are found, it will throw in anyone it can find. So multiple times I've been in matches, using a controller, and the other team had 2 players with keyboard and mouse, and Our team was at a disadvantage. This could easily be fixed by allowing, in cases like this, for the input device to be changed mid match.

There are also several issues with map layouts and spawns. At first I found the maps too large but that was just something to get used to. Now I've noticed that in flag capture modes, most objectives are set up in a chain, with one team spawning at each end. Meaning youll constantly be dieing in the middle of the map, and spawning in the same place, over and over. These matches tend to end exactly how they start, whoever happens to get the middle flag first and holds it wins. This could be fixed by trying to set all flags an equal distance from one another AND each spawn. This also carries over to ground war, accentuating the issue because of how large the maps are.

My final issue is more of just a personal wish, and this is the only place I feel I could actually give some solid feedback, but Spec Ops NEEDS an offline mode. I dont mean the offline it has, which is basically just round based survival, I mean the actual co op missions but alone or with an ai partner. When I think of spec ops, I think of the single player missions from Modern Warfare 2. If the current spec ops had a single player option, again with one ai teammate just to eat some bullets and revive you, each mission would be something akin to Sniper Elite or even Metro Exodus.

Over all I've been enjoying myself, but there are some fixes that could take this from a good game to the game every call of duty fan has expected since 2013.

Honestly this is the first time in a decade call of duty actually decided to play at it's own core strenghs and put EFFORT in instead of poorly imitating what used to be superior fps games. And lo' and behold it's actually better than all the other fps games this decade put together! Who'd have thought! Certainly not you Activision that's for **** sure. It succeeds in that it puts fun ahead of everything else. There's never a dull moment, you move from one heart pounding firefight to the next, using every tool at your disposal to gain an advantage, every scenario is coated with enough realism to make it immersive without stripping away the simplistic fun of just shooting virtual bad guys.

You're no one man/woman army in a goddamn Farcry wannabe environment like in battlefield, This is proper shooter material that we've all loved since the beginning, mission based gameplay split up into various gameplay segments that advance the story. The shooting mechanics have been dramatically improved with the added slide, mount and reload-while-looking-down-sights mechanics. The walking pace has also been reduced, resulting in an overall better handling and controls. Also you can sprint for more than three seconds which is good but not recommended unless you're running for cover or away from grenades, you're better off moving slower and checking your corners like a real spec ops agent would. The weapons all feel heavy and impactful with semi-realistic recoil and smoke and sound effects, sweeping the floor with the bb guns of previous COD and BF games(yes I'm still bashing on battlefield cry me a river).

The voice acting is top tier, the lines are delivered with impact and genuine passion which fit well within the beautifully rendered cutscenes. Nothing feels out of place within the confines of the narrative, goes to show that yes, new generation first person shooter campaigns can be pretentious and still be entertaining as hell.

Now moving on to the multiplayer aspect of COD, ok, I'm just gonna stick my foot up my mouth and just say that you're probably better off with battlefield multiplayer. I know i sound like an idiot but even though i prefer COD online vs battlefield online, if you're a new comer from either a non fps genre or battlefield you're gonna get extremely frustrated with cod's online behavior. Campers and miners galore! With the maps designed the way they are; full of nooks and crannies and conveniently covered and hidden vantage points, you're basically asking every player to be a Dickhead. So if you're not used to this brand of multiplayer **** I'd stick to the high ttk trenches of baby battlefield. Which at least is somewhat deterrent of campers. And the maps are significantly better, more suitable for skillful aiming accuracy rather than corner trickery. Though I'm not vouching for battlefield's connectivity on this one, with cod maps compacted as they are, there's less chance of latency than with the huge sprawling 60 player maps of bf. However the player progress is deliciously reminiscent of cod's good old days. Simplistic and full of new items to unlock and customize. No unnecessary monetizations so far during the time of this review, however should they be implemented later, i will come back and reduce the score from 8/10 to 5/10. I do not tolerate microtransactions of any sort in any game other than free to play, i already paid the required sum when i purchased the product. Even if it's just cosmetics, kindly out the damn door with you please. Right well that's that. If you're a fan of story driven first person shooters or even kinda intrested in them i highly recommend the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Ignore the screeching crowd of offended "cod haters". You gotta give credit where it's due and COD earned it's way back on it's throne.

I think this is great Call of Duty game with stunning graphics and immersive gameplay. I understand people's criticisms about how the game blatantly paints Russians in the bad light. But Modern Warfare games have done this for years. Except this time it's done very poorly by shifting the blame of a real life war crime on Russia just for the story which was in very poor taste and not necessary.

This is part of my my point. The people responsible for why cod was so good and why the game became so popular are gone. Any people still there or who returned this game think they know how these guys made this game and what makes it good, but they dont. If anything they now get their bad ideas in the game that the original team would not have let happen. So every new cod will always be inferior to the originals. Its pretty obvious. Treyarch has done the closest to keeping the game fun and fresh, but they were only as good as the last IW cod they strived to 1 up. Once the original guys were gone, their quality dropped. It's all hype and inferior.
Oh yea, the original team would not have let such a bad idea as insulting the Russians happen either. Not surprised it's going this way though. That and the overpowered guns and probably a whole list of other things...

The multiplayer is pretty much what it has always been, but what i really like about this game is the campaign. Graphics are great, the game feels smooth and i just found it very immesive overall. Also, despite being an FPS, they managed to include many types of gameplay during the campaign, so it's not just run n' gun from start to finish.
Also, i can see they've put CO-OP missions back in, like the good old MW2 days. Haven't tried them out yet, but i'm looking forward to it.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm going ot preface this with there will be spoilers and I already knew by the time I hit 7/10 my review will get down voted to hell. So here we go

Campaign - this is the mode I see getting the most flack and I've always hated this term but "calm down snowflakes" holy **** no one can make a story without being called phobic of the "bad guys" nationality, I'm also assuming kiddos here never played the original trilogy. But the campaign is good feels good missions feel varied between a mission where - you are assaulting a building where you can shoot out lights and use night vision goggles - sniping judging by the wind akin to the mission in Cod4MW
Realism mode addd a nice beautiful touch to the HUD and difficulty. Some moments made my jaw drop some were flashy meh set pieces.

Multiplayer- unlike other call if duties where I played every mode consistently I mostly live in ground war. Regular mp is somewhat broken in spawns still just classic cod the menus are a little strange everything is crammed in a "quick play" tab that you have to customize via filters to chose your modes. Ground war is straight up a rip of of the tried and true battlefield mode "conquest" it's great if you like snipers, camping, teammates that are allergic to the points and the odd Defcon nuke (hold all points for 30 seconds). But what gets me is the guns my gun is like LVL 40 and it's barely halfway through its unlocks, you can fine tune your guns to a play style you like Damage > mobility
    Mobility > damage
Camos out the arse serious too many hah. First cod to crossplay and that's pretty great though Activision is a lot more lean on its name rules and it's good ole fashion call of duty cancer with some names on there.

Spec ops - missions are fun I guess they take place after the campaign so be prepared for that, but think Cod mw2 it's fun with friends. Survival on the other hand. Is a PlayStation exclusive and that is stupid. I have it on PlayStation but with crossplay being a thing you can't play with Xbox or PC gamers and that kind of sucks

Overall Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a good title that is marred by the expectations that the Modern Warfare name brings with it. The campaign has some really stellar gameplay moments that are brought down by the mediocre plot. Multiplayer was fun but felt a bit like the competition’s output (despite there being no Battlefield release this year) which may be a turn off for some. I don’t think Modern Warfare 2019 has done anything to make me rethink waiting for substantial price drops to play Call of Duty campaigns, because clearly multiplayer is still Activision’s main focus and that’s just not where I get my kicks.
