Bad game. nothing good. And it lags like hell. no other game lags for me so its not my fault. Maybe they should stop making these space shooters and go back to something 90*s. m4, m16 and so on. also fix the lag.

COD:IW has a lot of content:
    1. Single player campaign (no co-op, unlike BO3).
    2. Zombies. 3. Multiplayer, as usual. If you're after content, then you're in luck. However, that's where most of the good news ends. I don't know where to start... Okay, single player campaign was boring. No amazing plot twists, no humongous discoveries, basically nothing new. It's very pedestrian, which is sad. I played on Veteran, without a walkthrough guide, and it took well over 10 hours to finish it. On easy difficulty it'll probably take 5-6 hours.

Zombies - I have to admit, I prefer IW zombies to BO3 zombies. But it's still nowhere as fun as either WAW or BO1 zombies, by a mile.

Multiplayer - this is where I have real issues...

    * Everyone seems to be made of paper - it doesn't matter which gun you use, it takes just a split second to kill someone. At least in BO3, core modes were just that - core, not hardcore. You stood a chance of escaping a gunfight if you were quick. Not so IW - one bullet doesn't graze you, it kills you. This allows noobs to just fire and throw grenades randomly to get cheap kills. Definitely equip Blast Shield to get past the grenade spamming in MP.

    * The Pick 10 system is screwed up. At least in previous CODs, equipping 2 tacticals would use up 2 slots... now it uses 3 slots.

    * There seem to be fewer scorestreaks, and none of them are exciting (BO3's RAPS were great fun).

    * As for the wall-running and thrust jumping, I don't have an issue with that. It started in AW, then improved upon in BO3. IW's is smooth, but I feel it's better implemented in BO3.

    * All in all, MP is nowhere near as fun as in BO3 (or MWr for that matter). Maybe I'm biased, but Treyarch did MP much better. Heck, even AW had better MP because it was beginner-friendly (you could increase points needed to get scorestreaks, which meant the score wouldn't reset on death); Ghosts did something similar for beginners.

People stay complaining about the futuristic setting of this game, but you should really give this game a chance. I played it and personally i thought the campaign was awesome, maybe one of the better in the franchise. It really involves you in the story and makes you love the characters. So please, give this game a chance, play it for yourself.

The game has everything you would expect from last year's release. It has the same and tired "Epic Story Mode" Or "Campaign" with memorable characters, Multiplayer mode, and Zombies, basically everything you would expect in a CoD game. I used to love zombies since WAW and and BO1, but now it looks like every CoD game is going to have the Zombies mode.

Now if you're not a big gamer or haven't even played a CoD game in awhile or never. Then this might be the game for you. CoD games are always meant to be made for the people who can just pick up the controller and play right away. This game could get a higher rating like maybe a 7 , but Activision has been milking the franchise for awhile now since atleast Black Ops 1 and the games shows how little has change. Let's not forget that this game has been coming out every November, because Activision knows everyone will be their product regardless of reviews. They know you're going to spend your money to play on the 6 hours campaign, play some zombies and some multiplayer, until the "next CoD game" comes out in November.
This game used to be a beloved franchise and pushed the standards for first person shooters back in the days but those days are long gone buddy. These days all companies care about is pushing out pre-orders sales,micro-transactions, broken unfinished games, or clones just to steal your money. It has been getting milked for so long and it will continue until players realized that they're buying the same game with a new skin but like that's going to happen.

Boy was I happy when I saw the trailer for this game at E3 at 1st I thought it was the new star wars game, but it looked way to good for that. When I found out it was Call of Duty I went nuts. I had just come off Black Ops 3 and loved that game.

This is a different developer and they have a different style, with that being said and understood, "infinity ward" did a very good job on this one. I really like the campaign its an emotional story and with out spoiling it, I enjoyed my 2nd and 3rd play through more knowing the stories outcome already, as weird as that sounds. The graphics were great, gunplay awesome, guns were very good and sounded "loud". This is most defiantly a space shooter and it kicks ass.

Zombies is really fun this year, they used the same engine as black ops3 it looks like, but now its an 80's theme and its really fun. It's not as serious as last time around and more focused on fun. Think gta san andres time frame, but with zombies. They have the season pass comes with 4 more zombie chapters, which if there as good as this one, I'll be excited...

Multiplayer, is really fun I think the maps are smaller making it more frantic. There are plenty of modes and if you don't like people online they have bots with three difficulty levels, to play against. They have tons of maps and again with the season pass there are 4 times as many more.

For an extra $20 you can get the legacy edition which comes with "infinity wards" most famous title modern ware in a remastered edition which is cool if you want that too. I got the regular edition as I'm more into modern COD.But now I must admit I regret that decision. Also I saw the digital deluxe version for $100 which included the legacy edition plus the season pass(oh well missed out on that).

This game was really fun, very high quality as far as visuals, gameplay and sound design goes. The three modes all play well and are very interesting and entertaining. The stand out its the campaign this year but the two other modes do well to compliment each other for a complete package.

I'll keep this short and simple.

Campaign was amazing. great characters and very good story telling.

Multiplayer - It's okay, I don't know why people are crying so much about it, feels like BO3 too me.

Zombies- I'm not a zombies fan at all. However I did enjoy it. The 80's theme was cool but it got boring for me.

All in all, the campaign is what was great about this game

Every COD campaign has it flaws. But this one is the best i have seen in a long time. Exceptional story characters and game play. However, the multiplayer is the worst since Ghost. Too much mix of BO3. Zombies could have been better but is still fun to play.

I feel like Activision and Infinity ward are laughing all the way to the bank on this one. The only reason I pre-ordered it before the trailer was released was due to MWR I was told there would be a limited number at the time for legacy pro. So I completely paid it off in full the first day it was available and was very skpetical about infitie warfare after seeing the Trailer but Activsion promised big thing and stil no Multiplayer gameplay footage. It wasnt until I got the beta and was pretty much stuck with Infinte warfare that I relaized how terrible the game was. There are not words to describe how dissapointed I was with this massive pile of dog crap. I stuck it out hoping the best for MWR but they managed to screw it up as well using the same spawn mechanics as they do in infinite warfare causing you to spawn on top of people or directly next to someone. The movements are a bit quirky in MWR as well you get stuck on things your shouldnt and just feels a tad lazy movements to me. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME IT IS AWFUL DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Expand

Here's the deal. COD IW is not a bad game. But the competition is providing a better product with similar gameplay but with two major differences.
    - Much better level design/MP pace.
    - No microtrasanctions or pay to win. Having wasted $60 to buy this game, I'm now left a bit disappointed as I think I would rather wait for price drops or invested in other games. Let me put it this way.

If you look at all the "negative" reviews, they are can barely be called reviews, and look more like extensions of the hate-filled comments and dislikes you'd normally see on YouTube. All coming from a particular audience, which, more often than not, acts very childish and entitled. Add here a modern trend to be disliking CoD games and the hype/antihype culture of most media, and you get a flashmob of angry and entitled gamers pouring their "grief" into their "reviews".

All that said, here's my attempt on a review of this game. I am an active gamer, but I have not played every Call of Duty game out there. Back in the day MW2 was my favorite back in the day, then I tried BO (to see if all the hype was true - it wasn't) and last year I tried BO3 (which I thought was a mess story and multiplayer-wise). Having seen the first IW trailer I wasn't impressed either, but then again, I did not have any expectations or wasn't even sure I'd ever play that game. What made me buy it after its release was a word-of-mouth of a friend and couple of other people saying that the campaign was amazing and was probably one of the best in the series. Now I was curious to try it.

I finished the campaign in about a week, not rushing through, but enjoying the level design, the dialogues, the characters, the weapons, the music. Basically, tried to allow the game to impress me. And boy it did! The graphics were amazing, the story and the writing were solid (one still has to remember that yes, it's a game, yes, it's about heroism and selflessness - and there's nothing wrong with that), the music was superb, the gameflow and mechanics all were interesting and captivating! And maybe part of the reason is that I am neither a CoD series-fan nor was expecting anything from the game, but one has to be blind and delusional to deny to the last accord that Infinity Ward made a great job! The other game modes (multiplayer and zombies) were also relatively new to me and thus interesting, but the campaign is the game's crown jewel IMO.

It should be always remembered that different people have different tastes and somebody may not fancy a space-themed FPS game with a CoD name on it. Nor may someone get what they were expecting, if they want a game to be both same and new and interesting and epic and have new modes and tropes, but still be the good-old CoD. It's not possible. Just relax, at the end of the day it's a video game. If you did not like it, it's OK. It doesn't mean that the game is necessarily horrible. Definitely not this game.

Sorry for a long review, I just wanted to share my experience and satisfaction of the game. Totally going to be replaying that campaign. 9/10

Story: You play as Nick Reyes, a commander of the U.N.S.A after an attack was launched on earth from General Kotch (John Snow from Game of Thrones) and the SDF, Reyes and his partner Salt (Salter) fight their way through their city of Geneva getting to their ships and boarding the Retribution: which is now their home base for the remainder of the campaign. So your objective in this campaign is to defeat General Kotch and stop the SDF forever.

Gameplay: So this is your average first person shooter Call of Duty, with some new weapons and, gadgets and, dog fights this time which I love. New editions are more than welcomed this year with the side missions, these side missions are one of two things, infiltrating an enemy ship and planting charges to blow up the ship, or intense dogfights to bring down other larger aircraft carriers. The new weapons load out system is another really nice addition to this year’s call of duty, before each mission, you will go to the loadout dock and choose which guns you want to use during the current mission there will be recommendations but you can customize it any way you want to including the weapons on your ship before you roll out. While going through the course of this game and even playing the Multiplayer I couldn’t help but think that Call of Duty has become too much like Halo with the jet packs and the laser guns, I just wish they would go back to their roots of being a straight-up military shooter; when I play a call of duty game I do not want to be jumping around, floating and sliding all over the place.

Verdict: The writing in this game is fantastic, the characters are memorable, it’s high in action, new additions to the gameplay and fantastic story telling but when I play Call of Duty games I want a military shooter, not a space shooter.

Multiplayer: I'm gonna have to admit that this is the worst in the series. Though fun at times, there are still allot of issues that need addressing. The tight angle map designs, inconsistent spawns and lag-compensation ruins the experience of how COD shooter should play. I think if the devs work on these problems, it shouldn't feel that bad. Infinite warfare forces you to play slower and wittier... this sort of mechanic worked well in Modern Warfare, but not infinite warfare. The maps feel very tight and much more appropriate for a fast-twitch sort of shooter.

The Campaign - This is beyond annoying as you cannot cut through the scenes of nonstop yapping. Outside of that and the fact I will not finish it, it is decent. No where near the best but not the worse (that would be BO3 for sure) It is not uncommon for me to play the campaign 5-9 times. I simply cannot tolerate this one.
Multiplayer - I strictly play HCTDM. The movement is so much better than BO3 and similar to AW. Weapons choices are mediocre and the exo suits are rather over powered. The constant issue with the past 3-4 CODs has been lag for many users. Having a monster rig and 500mbps fiber connection appears to only hurt me. My dedicated rig allows me to be shot long before I see the person in many cases. My games fluctuate from 8-20 when laggy to 35-15 when it is not. That is a HUGE spike in metrics that truly takes the fun out of the entire game. Sadly the low laggy rounds take the majority (around 65%). Often you can back out and reenter the same lobby and the lag goes away for a game or so.
Activision makes it more and more obvious that they make the game for money and do not care about the players. With a 50% decrease in sales, I am glad people are smarter than me and avoiding this franchise all together.

Movement is a may be a bit clunkier (like you can feel the weight of the armor) but I actually like that because it makes the game seem more down to earth. One of the best optimizations is that the game will load multiplayer maps while you are waiting in the lobby, so the loading times are super short. It also seems better optimized than BO3 - my PS4 remains surprisingly quite at all times, whereas sometimes while playing BO3 my console's fans would go absolutely berserk and I was expecting it to take off into space. I purchased the bundle with MW Remastered and I absolutely love it! It's just so nice to play an old COD on current consoles and engage in nostalgia. It's quite striking how different these two games play, even though they may look similar. I can't really say whether I prefer the old COD or the new one. I just like them both and each can be better than the other, depends on how you look at it. It's just sad that if people simply don't like shooters or COD that they rate this game low. If you don't like it that does not necessarily mean it's a bad game. For example, I can't stand RPGs that take hundreds of hours to complete and have an insanely massive story, but you don't see me grabbing Witcher 3 and then giving it 1 just because I don't like the type of the game. Despite of that, getting into Infinite Warfare could be harsh and frustrating for less skill players or novices.

IW is not a revolution in COD series, but at the end a very solid FPS game. Maybe its biggest mistake is being released in a complicated moment for the franchise, with tons of players asking about returning to the roots of COD4.

As a whole package, all the praise should be going toward the single player experience, and I'd never thought I'd say that about a Call of Duty game in a long time. But in all honestly, it’s true. As for the multiplayer, it makes for an incredibly mundane and subpar experience that almost parodies itself. Completely making it very difficult to recommend the game as a whole.

Good old Infinity Ward is back and not just with Modern Warfare Remastered! The single player campaign (the best in years!) alone is enough to give Infinite Warfare a chance. Just like with Doom and Titanfall 2 I expected nothing from the game and was shocked with how good it turned out to be. [13/2016, p.34]

The action is so fast, and the time to kill so low, that anyone outside of the hardcore COD audience is in for a rough ride. [Jan 2017, p.110]
