Not a big fan of more recent cod or battfields but I saw this at my local the exchange store and bought it after I looked up the gameplay and WOW do I like the campaign. I would like to see more on this version of CoD instead of balck ops, modern or cold War. It nice to see a new take on it instead of what they ha e been doing. One wish for the next version tho power slide

From what I played in the IW campaign, I think it has the best graphics a single player mode has ever had in COD. the story though is generic and it's still a rail shooter. Follow dot to an area, kill everything that appears, go to next dot.

Multiplayer is incredibly fun when it's not lagging. seems like the lag has gotten really bad since Ghost. hearing they got rid of the dedicated servers that AW and BO3 had is disappointing. there's nothing special about the weapons. all the maps are small enough where there's no reason to use an AR. this is very much an SMG game.

as for MW:R- yes, it's identical to the old game ... camping like crazy, OP unbalanced weapons, grenade spam, the noob tube unlocked at LVL 1, easiest quickscoping in the series, no customization, and dusty green-brown maps that are all undiscernable from each other. if you REALLY want to go back to that ... it's all there ... they stayed so true to the original that all the map and weapon glitches are still there ... the graphics are slighty better and they added Kill Confirmed.

I've never understood why COD4 gets the praise it does. I think it's just because it's the "thing" to do in the COD community. the next 5 games in the franchise are all thousands of times better. an old broken game that goes back 2 entire generations of consoles in it's limitedness. most of the people praising it in the reviews of this game are too young to have played it when it was new.

in 2006, Modern Warfare was an amazing, beautiful game that had unique gameplay and made fps'ers the most popular genre in gaming. that was 10 years ago :) ... the nostalgia of a "boots on the ground" game is fun for awhile, but it's beyond me why someone wouldn't want to play a newer game with so much more to do that's on the same disc.

Lastly- those saying multiplayer is "pay to win" are complete liars and probably BF fanboys haters. you can get enough points for a supply drop in like 3 games. there's fewer weapon variants than AW, and all of them can be earned for free if you grind the game enough. Also the disc contains both games, you don't need to enter a code in at the store to get MW:R. so if you do decide to sell your game in the future, MW:R will be totally available and functional.

I'm assuming most of the dissatisfaction of this game came from 1.) how Modern Warfare Remaster is packaged, 2.) the multiplayer, and 3.) the jaded CoD players that has played every CoD as it came out...

My review is pretty much of the campaign and zombie mode and I have the following pros and cons:
    Campaign:
+Characters are for the most part pretty good. Ethan especially.
    +Space combat is quite fun.
    +Hacking bots is fun.
=Story is a bit bland. Although it had some great moments.
=Aerial combat is fun but can get repetitive.
-Levels are a bit too choreographed, but that is how Call of Duty games are. This can be good I guess because it flows like a continuous playable movie.
    Zombie
++Local co-op, there's just not that many split screen co-op anymore in this genre. I applaud them for including this mode.

How people can vehemently disparage this game and recommend games like Battefield 1 is beyond my comprehension. Reading so many negative reviews almost makes me feel bad for having fun while playing this game. I'm 22 years old, have played just about all of the highest rated video games out there, and yet I'm still finding enjoyment in this game. It's NOT bad.

Has anyone giving this a 0,1, or 2 ever played a bad game? They are definitely out there, thousands and thousands of software worse than this, and yet they score higher. Why is this? I have to believe that many of the people leaving low scores on this site never gave the game a chance, and want to draw people towards the games they pre-ordered and purchased instead, justifying their choice of one of the three big FPS titles (four including Destiny).

A lot of people also choose to relate this game to the other CoD titles; comparing to the other CoD titles is ok when listing similarities and differences, but is that really a justification for such a low score? Not everyone has played ALL of the previous titles, so it seems more realistic to judge this as a standalone title, especially since it is not a sequel to any of the previous games in any sense of the word. If you come in expecting a different formula, referring to the simplified multiplayer, zombies, and action-movie hand-holding linear campaign, then you will be disappointed, and your negative experience is almost entirely your fault. This is why:

You don't by a cheeseburger and expect them to deliver you a salad. You don't order a Call of Duty title and expect Fallout. or Overwatch. or the classic Battlefields. or whatever.

The above is mostly rant, although that line about the cheeseburger is spot on ;)

    Now for the real critique:

IW by itself offers a ton of content for your $60 price tag, but unless you have no idea how sales or offers at places like Amazon, Gamestop, Ebay, or Steam work, you should not be paying that full $60. A more realistic price for this game is $40 by itself. For example, by using several Gamestop promotions, I obtained the Legacy Pro edition for around $30 (retail price at $120).
It has an adrenaline-fueled campaign with space combat, dog-fights, and lots and lots of big bad military enemies to shoot. It offers an interesting but familiar take on the classic zombies mode with an overwhelming amount of easter-eggs, and a multiplayer with fun game modes such as Defender (my favorite), Frontline, and the classic Domination, TDM, FFA, etc. The maps are colorful and lane'd in a way that provides controlled flanking, the spawns aren't incredibly useless, and the guns are mostly balanced (you don't see everyone using 1 particular gun).

My biggest issue with the multiplayer is the gun variants that offer perks and stat-boosts, although they give several ways to obtain these, and they aren't game-breaking improvements.

The campaign offers a hub-world hybrid on a big ship where you can walk around the ship and choose your next mission (there are even side-missions, which is always interesting). There's some moments of emotion, hyper-unrealistic points of climax, witty military banter, everything you'd expect in a space-war campaign. You'll enjoy it if you don't take it too seriously. I did find myself laughing at many of the "serious" parts, and that makes me like it even more.

TL:DR: The campaign is cheesy, the multiplayer and zombies are essentially recycled with updated visuals, pace changes, guns, and game modes; but that doesn't make it a bad game. 8/10 for me, I'll go have fun now. no regrets.

Truthfully, TF2 is just a better game all around, both in campaign and MP. BF1 is a better games as well, but comparisons here really aren't fair due to completely different settings and overall style of game.

Still, though, I'm enjoying IW for what it is.....a clean, fast paced, polished shooter that's easy to pop in and out of my console b/w longer gaming sessions.

The lag seems to have improved with the many patch updates, that's not to say its gone but I feel I'm having far more decent games now and fair gun fights. The dev team are supporting the game relatively well and are on top of improvements and patches. They removed two maps to fix them which took longer than expected with Grounded still not making an apperance at the time of writing, but Genesis is back with the bugs fixed, which shows me they actually care about the game.

So how is it playing now compared to release? Much better. I'm finding the games to be very fun, skilled, fast paced and enjoyable. It is very addictive and one of the better futuristic cods. Much better than Blops 2, Blops 3, AW and Ghosts. I'd say its on par with MW3.

The new movement (once used to it) works very well. All weapons can do a good amount of damage and you can play well with them. Some of the maps are excellent such as Frost, Precinct, Genesis, Mayday and Frontier and play well on nearly all game modes. The larger maps however only tend to work with objective based gameplay and can slow the pace of the game right down.

There are some really decent weapons that feel good to use. Most weapons in the game are more than usable including sniper rifles. Shotguns need a bit of a boost and you still get hitmarkers and short range meaning they don't tend to play a role in the game.

Scorestreaks are too high. Getting the larger ones seems an impossible task considering spawns flip too easily meaning you get shot in the back a lot. If you run care package then you do get to ise the higher ones now and then but most games the highest scorestreak you see is the warden and then any below it. The warden is a bit of a pain and really I think the game would be better off without it. Lots of people run hardline rendering perk 2 slot useless as you really need it to achieve scorestreaks. The nuke is impossible, never seen one and the youtubers who've got them seem to be playing against the braindead (or their friends who just so happen to not be able to kill them). A pointless streak unless you are a booster.

Micro-transactions come in the form of supply drops. You can unlock them with keys instead of paying. You also get salvage which takes a long time to build up. Supply drops are way overpriced, and considering you have no idea if you are going to get that legendary you really want are not worth the money.

Despite its hang ups, IW is shaping up to be a really fun addictive game. The graphics are nice and colorful and bold. Multiplayer is the best we've seen since MW3 and I actually enjoy playing this COD. By no means better than MW2 (the best cod imo) but way better than the modern CODs.

It comes packaged with COD4 remaster, but it's aged badly and is no fun anymore, I've totally ignored it.

So if you want a fun MP experience with sharp addictive gameplay give it a go.

Call me old fashion, but I will always be a boots to the ground fan. I was very sceptical in the direction COD is going. I must admit I only bought Infinite Warfare so I could play MW. Boy was I happy when I saw the trailer for this game at E3 at 1st I thought it was the new star wars game, but it looked way to good for that. When I found out it was Call of Duty I went nuts. I had just come off Black Ops 3 and loved that game.

This is a different developer and they have a different style, with that being said and understood, "infinity ward" did a very good job on this one. I really like the campaign its an emotional story and with out spoiling it, I enjoyed my 2nd and 3rd play through more knowing the stories outcome already, as weird as that sounds. The graphics were great, gunplay awesome, guns were very good and sounded "loud". This is most defiantly a space shooter and it kicks ass.

Zombies is really fun this year, they used the same engine as black ops3 it looks like, but now its an 80's theme and its really fun. It's not as serious as last time around and more focused on fun. Think gta san andres time frame, but with zombies. They have the season pass comes with 4 more zombie chapters, which if there as good as this one, I'll be excited...

Multiplayer, is really fun I think the maps are smaller making it more frantic. There are plenty of modes and if you don't like people online they have bots with three difficulty levels, to play against. They have tons of maps and again with the season pass there are 4 times as many more.

For an extra $20 you can get the legacy edition which comes with "infinity wards" most famous title modern ware in a remastered edition which is cool if you want that too. I got the regular edition as I'm more into modern COD.But now I must admit I regret that decision. Also I saw the digital deluxe version for $100 which included the legacy edition plus the season pass(oh well missed out on that).

This game was really fun, very high quality as far as visuals, gameplay and sound design goes. The three modes all play well and are very interesting and entertaining. The stand out its the campaign this year but the two other modes do well to compliment each other for a complete package.

First of all: It's a damn shame people are somehow logically (not sure how) able to compare CoD with Battlefield. CoD is a fast-paced, arcade first-person shooter (you know, like Doom or GoldenEye back in the day) whereas Battlefield is a slower-paced, war simulation first-person shooter. Both games are good at their OWN thing. If you can realize that, which is logical and can be proven on many bases, then we can move on and judge Call of Duty Infinite Warfare for what it is.

The good: it has a great single player campaign, which CoD has been lacking for some time now.
The other good: I happen to like Black Ops 3, and this multiplayer took more from Blops 3 than it did from Advanced Warfare (thank god!). Now, it also took some failures from Ghosts, unfortunately. The maps are a lot of fun and the weapons feel less futuristic than Blops 3 or AW weapons do, which is nice.

The other, other good: Yes, I got the Legacy edition. Yes, it was part of Activision's "scheme." So, yes, I've been enjoying both IW and MW:RE But (for those who like to compare), I hope you don't cry out when EA screws you with their pay-to-win, because that is definitely coming in a couple of months after they're done with holiday sales.

The bad: It is too much like Blops 3 in too many ways. But the good to that? They improved some issues Blops 3 had. The other bad to that? If Blops wasn't Treyarch, then IW should have been an expansion - more or less - to Blops 3. Oh well.

The really, really, really bad: the fanbase. Since the release of Ghosts, due to the high number of new players brought to the franchise by Blops 2, I have seen the CoD fanbase get more and more toxic. Some of them have good points, but are easily drowned out by those who have no clue what they're talking about when they say, "Why can't we cut the futuristic bullsh*t," because... well, quite simply, their first CoD was Blops 2, and that was futuristic. So... yeah.

Naturally, when you have a game as easy to pick up and enjoy as CoD, you will get a lot of low-hanging fruit kind of players; people who only play CoD and one or two other games; people who don't know anything about what it means to actually look at the good points and bad points of a game. Unfortunately, everyone has a soapbox these days, and people tend to jump on bandwagons and get off them just as quickly.

Back to the game: If you enjoy a good story mode (not because "Jon Snow" is in it) and a fun, repetitive (when was it ever not), fast-paced, ARCADE fps game, then you will enjoy CoD (especially if you get Legacy edition) and, perhaps, will start getting bored of it sometime near June or so.... ready for whatever the next announcement is at E3. But if you do, genuinely, without peer-pressure from stupid kids, enjoy the action and fluidity of CoD, you will no doubt keep coming back to it every weekend with that feeling of "man, I wanna play some fast-paced shooter in a small map."

This is something Battlefield 1 cannot offer. That's why so many on here, including myself, are saying the logical: Don't listen to BF fanboys. They're on the bandwagon. Soon, they'll say another game is better than BF. It may even be the next CoD game, for all they care, because they have no opinion of their own.

The core gameplay, level design, and AI is also great making it one of the most fun Call of Duty campaigns I've played in a long time. From the fluid movement system as a soldier to flying a jackal in space, this campaign has it all. The multiplayer is decent. Its basically Black Ops 3 multiplayer, which I wasn't a big fan of because of the boost jumping and wall running. Also its pay to win because of supply drops which I don't appreciate. The new zombies mode is pretty cool, but doesn't compare to Treyarch zombies. I played it for a bit and had fun but can't see myself continuing to play it like Treyarch zombies. All around, its a good Call of Duty game. The multiplayer and zombies are decent, but its really in the campaign where it shines. The campaign is easily one of my favourites. I really feel bad for Infinity Ward, they crafted a really beautiful campaign that most people probably won't ever end up playing. If anyone is looking for a great single player experience specifically, I would definitely recommend picking Infinite Warfare up. Peace to the fallen. Expand

Here's the deal. COD IW is not a bad game. But the competition is providing a better product with similar gameplay but with two major differences.
    - Much better level design/MP pace.
    - No microtrasanctions or pay to win. Having wasted $60 to buy this game, I'm now left a bit disappointed as I think I would rather wait for price drops or invested in other games. Let me put it this way.

Let me put it this way. This is not the best COD title this year. Titanfall 2 is. (although it is not called COD)

The campaign is not as good as Titanfall but beats the piss out of battlefield 1 campaign wise. Rent it before you buy it just don't judge the game on multiplayer alone it's more than that . Expand

Call of Duty Infinite Warfare is a solid cod game. The campaign was incredible and was really fun to play while the multiplayer didn't blow me away it is still good.

This game is nowhere near as bad as people are claiming it is. The single player is pretty damn amazing, the multiplayer is very similar to black ops 3 but is still very playable and pretty fun, and zombies is very tounge in cheek yet still a nice addition to the main game. As a real gamer i like to try a game first BEFORE hating it.
The campaign is awesome. It also comes packaged with the best FPS of all time MW1.
Don't jump on the hate bandwagon, be a real gamer and try for yourself.

Call of duty infinite warfare, is one of the best CODs released since black ops 2. From what i've played on the SP so far best single player since MW2. MP is a hell load of fun, but seems like a little re copy of blops 3 (just re skinned). Zombies is eh, good map but never had been a zombies fan.

MW1 is OK, needs to be more balanced in guns and needs better servers

I don't care for the multiplayer, i care for the singleplayer experience and this is there the new CoD strikes again. Awesome Sci-Fi setting, some moments are just breathtaking, like floating in your spacesuit around asterioids toward the big spaceship is just epic.

So if you just like me like an epic-badass-campain in a sci/fi-setting, this is the real one for you.

Although Infinite Warfare seems to be a Black Ops 3 expansion at first sight, once you get involved into the game and get deeper, you realized that Infinity Ward has reached a new level of gameplay for the series. IW is not a revolution in COD series, but at the end a very solid FPS game. Maybe its biggest mistake is being released in a complicated moment for the franchise, with tons of players asking about returning to the roots of COD4.

As a whole package, all the praise should be going toward the single player experience, and I'd never thought I'd say that about a Call of Duty game in a long time. But in all honestly, it’s true. As for the multiplayer, it makes for an incredibly mundane and subpar experience that almost parodies itself. Completely making it very difficult to recommend the game as a whole.

Good old Infinity Ward is back and not just with Modern Warfare Remastered! The single player campaign (the best in years!) alone is enough to give Infinite Warfare a chance. Just like with Doom and Titanfall 2 I expected nothing from the game and was shocked with how good it turned out to be. [13/2016, p.34]

The action is so fast, and the time to kill so low, that anyone outside of the hardcore COD audience is in for a rough ride. [Jan 2017, p.110]
