Very fun co-op campaign including a Nightmare mode with zombies. Multiplayer is very fun, fluid, great customization tools, great and detailed maps fleeing a bit of sense of futurism that the game it's proposed (this brings nostalgia for those who enjoy the old cods). And then there's a lot of content to unlock. Amazing, one of the best COD ever.

I'm really glad I grabbed this one. The campaign is absolutely fantastic and the story and the way it's told is quite fascinating and gives every singleplayer fan enough meat to chew on. Then I tried the multiplayer and it is quite fun aswell - I enjoy the speed and agility of the matches which in combination with the specialists makes for a great few hours of gameplay aswell. Zombies has only gotten weirder and more elaborate but features a "new" ranking up system for zombies with prestiging like it is in multiplayer. Though zombies does have a few flaws with the way the zombies hit you, they hit you far too fast. you run out of ammo? Have to reload? You may as well give up because one zombie can come literally SPRINTING in and K.O you in a second and you're downed. I'm feeling a light 9 with this game, very little flaws (except for the ones in zombies, as there are more flaws i didn't mention which are likely to be patched in the future). Expand

The singleplayer campaign has been pretty blah so far, I'm about 50% of the way through it. The casting of a familiar detective as Taylor and the intrigue played up around the events of an early level that takes place in post-apocalyptic Shanghai are fun little perks so far, but honestly, who bought this game for the story?

Multiplayer is downright FUN, with guns that sound great, feel powerful, and ultimately serve their purpose beautifully. The sniper rifles are a bit lacking in real panache, which I found saddening as a guy who loves sniping, but for the first time ever in a CoD game I found myself having fun using the LMGs, which was neat (go, go Gorgon!). The maps are actually very good, with lots of detail to pick out and explore. You may find yourself diving into the algae-filled water of an abandoned aquarium, or running along the curved walls of silos at a farm in the middle of nowhere. Level design is great, and makes for exciting gameplay of all kinds, near and far, on pretty much every map.

Zombies is fun but the learning curve is steep. I have yet to make it past round 10 because I have no friends who play the game and always get matchmaked with newbies. You have to know what you're doing and where to go, and when you're on a team that isn't working in sync the zombies campaign can be brutally difficult.

Overall, a return to quality for Treyarch that I sincerely enjoyed. Renewed my interest in the franchise substantially.

After two crappy games (Ghosts and AW) Treyarch finally made a worthy part of the franchise. Black Ops III is freaking awesome, it do feels like Black Ops II but an enchanted and beautiful version of it. Don't believe the haters, they hate it because they suck in it. The reason I am not giving it a 9 is because they still didn't added hardpoint to the hardcore section.

I quit gaming and shooters for some time and after a couple years was dreading buying another call of duty simply because I was unimpressed by everything after MW3. I was pleasantly suprised with BO3.

First off, the multiplayer feels solid as ever. I especially like how you're able to fire your weapon during ANY action, whether it be mantling, wallrunning, or swimming. I feel like in a close quarters fire fight this ups the intensity. The nature of the maps themselves provide mostly balanced approach options and campers don't last very long. There are always maps people are going to hate, lets just get that out of the way before you crucify map design in general.

Not sure about weapon balancing. I'm finding a high damage **** accuracy smg is taking more bullets to kill than a low damage high accuracy smg (with a lower fire rate). However, I don't feel like there are any ridiculously overpowered/overused weapons as of right now in multiplayer. I've noticed no patterns or immediately felt like someone was cheap for using a certain gun (maybe i'm just salty about ACRs from MW3).

The specialist aspect is a nice touch, though they kind of feel a tad out of place in their balance. Some specialist weapons such as the Reaper's Scythe/Battery's War Machine essentially let you go on a rampage, whereas Nomad's H.I.V.E nearly forces you to camp in order to get your mileage out of it.

I haven't gotten too deep into campaign mode but i sorely wish that the customization options (visual wise) available in this mode were available in multiplayer. Having a completely customized character from gender, to armor, to loadouts, to abilities makes for a different experience with every playthrough. Though I haven't completed it, it is always something I always contemplate instead of starting up multiplayer.

However, from what I've played, Campaign mode, blissfully departs from the linear nature of your typical shooter, allowing you to jump into any mission, adjusting your loadouts and abilities as such. Having a couple friends join you on a mission mixes things up quite a bit. Though I think campaign will go unnoticed in lieu of multiplayer and zombies. It's worth a shot though.

Zombies is as deep as ever, with even more customization options than ever (you can now gain experience towards unlockables and custom loadouts). A very entertaining plot and is fun in general.

In terms of value, and in lieu of games coming out in this generation, I felt BO3 was worth the buy. Far too often games are released prematurely, or simply don't have the mileage to make an 80 dollar price tag worth it (not to mention purchasing online membership and seasons packs to boot). Hell, zombies alone could have been released as a standalone game (Treyarch please don't do this).

Anywho, hopefully some users find this useful from someone who has delved into the game for more than a month.

    **End of Game Review**

I will now criticize the idiotic and blatantly stupid gaming community reviewing games.

This is Call of Duty. You crutch on aim assist, quick scope down sight, and cook grenades around blind corners etc. What do all these absurdly negative reviewers honestly expect here? A non-Call of Duty suspiciously named Call of Duty?

I'm not certain I understand this new wave of Yelp game reviews that feel the need to take up arms over every new game that releases. There was an open beta, did they just throw in their time and money anyway in hopes it would magically make them happy? Did they not play the beta? Are they just angry at themselves for shelling out $59.99 mindlessly the same time every year and so they differ this lack of intelligent purchasing decisions back toward metacritic in the form of angry, unintelligent and ultimately shallow critiques that normally amount to "Treyarch just staph, do you even?".

The state of gamers these days is really pathetic and hard to watch as they somehow try to inspire devs to make better games by simply handing them free money and then complaining on the internet. Maybe stop going for that Nth prestige this year and take a basic economics class, the only thing organizations understand is profit margin, no one cares about some butthurt reviews on a third party review aggregator. Let me be clear for the die hard fan, if you don't like the franchise installment, stop purchasing it.

"But I took it back to Gamestop the day after and got $29.95".

Great, you funded the devs and Gamestop and Metacritic ad traffic in one swift motion, you really showed them...

A completely unnecessary cash grab. The call of duty franchise did not need Black Ops 3, like it did not need Advanced Warfare, or Ghosts, or Modern Warfare 3.

If you purchase this game you are only encouraging the corporate greed of Activision to continue rehashing the exact same game over and over with its pointless re-iterations that make no sense beyond generating revenue. Vote

Regarding all the 0 - 3 reviews; most of them clearly didn't even buy the game. Most COD's are very similar with minor tweaks to skill trees, abilities, maps, and movements. Why would so many people spend $60 or more on a game they hate so much when they know, for the most part, what they are getting before even trying it. For some reason, COD has become so polarizing because of it's fairly consistent formula, and the reviews reflect that, but I do not believe the reviews reflect the quality of the actual gameplay or player disposition.
