    I decided to buy Battlefield 4 again for my PS4 because I just had this burning feeling that it wasn't as bad as my first immersions had led me to believe. Now that I have actually beaten the campaign and played a lot more multiplayer I really begin to tell you how completely off my first impressions were! Also now that I have found my groove with the multiplayer it is now a major addiction for me! The final thing that really won me over about this version of the game was of course the graphical improvements! The biggest disappoint for me with this game on last generation consoles was the graphics and honestly the second that it put this into my Playstation 4 it made me wish that I had waited for this version!… Expand

    Great game, the graphics are really amazing, everything happens all at once in this game, everything explodes in your face, but it explodes in the right way, at the right time. The multiplayer is better than it was of the third game. You have wide options in terms of weapons, and you can change them at any time during the game. Its a fantastic game, really is. 8.5/10.

    Battlefield has always been about slower paced combat with very satisfying multiplayer. BattleField 4 adds on to that concept and uses the new engine's destructibility to add to the chaos. Most of the major issues are technical but most of them have been fixed. Other than the technical side, the game almost feels like it requires battlefield 4 premium to get the most out of the game.

    Love this game on Ps4. It truly is a fantastic design fo next-gen console's and PC's. Love all the maps, pacing, the new levolution dynamics for amazing destruction and the graphics look killer! Downside is the single player campaign, yea the story was not so good.

    This game pisses on COD Ghosts this year Graphically, Sound wise, and multiplayer with its robust maps and vehicles. If you want to show off a game to your friends on the next gen this is right next to NBA 2k14 in visual fidelity. All games aren't perfect though it is extremely disheartening that DICE decided to due away with partying up in lobbies.     A good game with a decent story-line but not as much destruction as was expected. The constant bickering of your two partners, however, took away from the story and has somewhat of an anti-climactic ending.

    Overall the game itself I not to big of a step up from BF3, but it is a step up.

    -There is a bigger variety of guns you can use (9/10) -more game modes which are actually really good, depending on how the players you are playing with play. The game's single player campaign is over in two hours in a rather unconvincing and vague story of Tombstone squadron, who throws characters by the player only for them to expire rather soon after. The squad's attempts at humour and sass to authority harken back to the days of Bad Company, who were actually funny, believable and loveable characters. Unlike the forgettable and agitating characters of Battlefield 4.

    Other than the awful writing, this game is GOLD. Every gamer worth her/his salt should play this game. The game's visuals run at a blistering 60fps consistently and look gorgeous. Bullets tear chunks of concrete and send them hurtling across your line of sight with sparks flying and rain splattering across the screen. The weather physics are impressive and Frostbite implies a bright future for EA's endeavours in the next generation of consoles. The multiplayer maps (already boosted with the China Rising DLC) are huge, memorable maps with destructible environments shining through in spectacular fashion. Upgrading to next gen has allowed up to 64 players to batter each other senseless with jets, helicopters, quad bikes, tanks, jeeps and all manner of weaponry while two Commanders gleefully oversee the whole affair with omnipotence. The Commander has made a welcome return after a substantial hiatus, and allows two players to take a top down view of the map and offer UAV support, direct individual squads, drop supplies, designate vehicles and generally shift the flow of combat. A good commander makes a noticeable change to the efficiency of a team. The communication between players is available on a wheel of commands to keep players in communication with one another even without microphones. The servers offer a generally consistently good connection with 64 players, but going from 20-Player squad death-matches to 64 shows a noticeable drop in the otherwise seamless connections.

    At the time of writing, any noticeable problems with connections and saves seem to have been ironed out, and the game plays smoothly and fantastically. Levolution is surprisingly underwhelming on some maps and could have offered much more for the players, but this may develop as the new map packs are released. The game presents a fantastic new engine in spectacular fashion, with all manner of mayhem being unleashed on the battlefield each time a new game starts. It's easy to become addicted and it's hard to praise many other games after playing this. Get this game. Battlefield is FPS of champions.    … Expand

    This is my first time playing a battlefield game after playing COD in the past. There's no comparison, this game is COD on steroids. Playing COD is underwhelming and boring now compared to BF4. The amount of detail put into this game is amazing and it really pays off in multiplayer.

Multiplayer is the meat and potatoes of this game so if you're looking for a strong single player story look elsewhere. With that said the single player is playable but it has a very predictable on rails type feel with some cool moments but for some major action you'll want to turn your attention to multiplayer.
    Multiplayer in Battlefield 4 can be anything from small domination type gameplay to huge 64 player matches complete with land sea and air vehicles. It does take some time getting used to the sheer massiveness and chaos of the larger type maps and volumes of players but its a excellent time. It is a shooter that will keep you entertained for a long time if you play with the right people. Like any FPS experience there are and can be some hair pulling moments, or maybe you're just a noob and need to get your S*** together. But with all this said Battlefield 4 is a solid game and if you're into shooter type games it's worth a shot, you'll be looking at and part of many explosions.    … Expand

Sure, the initial tough feedback probably turned you off, but they've fixed most of the big game-breaking bugs since, and the game works great, just like Battlefield 3 did, with slight improvements here and there.     I was a lucky soul who bought this game after 99% of the glitches we're fixed and I got it for a steal at $12. That was some of the best 12 dollars I've spent on the PS4.

    It was the first shooter I got to play on the system and it was a great early display of what the console was capable of early, with the silky smooth frame rate, good shooting, and fun multiplayer.     This was one of the most fun first person shooters that I have ever played the multiplayer is amazing and puts every other fps multiplayer to shame. 66 players playing at the same time and buildings in the map that changes the entire game. However the single player was kinda lame it had some cool moments but it was nothing memorable. This is the fps you need to get if you get a ps4!

    I will say that it is one of the best I have played in a few years. The maps are huge, but youre not running everywhere like in Battlefield 3. There is a huge selection of guns, and the 64 player matches make the game feel absolutely crazy at times. Leveling takes time, but you always feel rewarded for your progress. The biggest downside is the learning curve. The game is punishing, as youre playing with large groups of people who are very high level and can kill you very quickly. It leads to some frustrating moments, but if you can tough it out a few days, youre in for a good time    … Expand

Occasionally in multiplayer, I get kicked out randomly and sometimes it gets stuck on the loading screen which is why this game doesn't get a perfect score.     Best PS4 game even a year after. It hasn't been match even after a year. Not even Far Cry 4 which came out a year later comes close. It has destructibility and high intensive fun gameplay. Come play with the Big Dogs in Battlefield 4.

    Love the game, currently not able to play the 64 player matchs as the game rubber-bands on 64p Servers.
    But apart from that the game is great, i wouldn't mention the campaign of a BF game in a review as it's nothing special and i and most BF players use it for easy trophies and to obtain the Campaign unlocked weapons.

    I would like to say that a lot of these review scores are low for one reason: bugs.
    This game has many bugs: net code problems, rubber banding (players randomly teleporting around the map), crashing, save file corruption, etc. I would also like to point out that most of these have been fixed. You did not really get to know the characters in the Campaign and (this is my Opinion) The story line felt quite boring. Also the game is quite slow to load on PS4 and if you are on for more then 3-4 hours the gameA great game for PS4 I really enjoy the Multiplayer, there are many gamemodes and there are some really nice looking vehicles!     That was the first game I played in ps4 that had a "next-gen" feeling. It is a great addition to the series. Apart from the rather short but intense single player mode and some bugs I think that DICE did an awesome job on this one. The multiplayer mode is unmatched, however, it could use some tutorial mode to help players understand the concept incrementally.

    Game is absolutely fantastic, amazing graphics and maps. So much more realistic than any COD game in terms of the gameplay and power of the weapons. More difficult than any COD game but still very fun. The reason it isn't a 10 is because the EA servers are very poor and there are occasional glitchy movements in the larger conquest games. Still incredibly enjoyable.

    Look this game was not meant for Single player, so if you buy any multiplayer game with that in mind, then you get what you deserve, other than that yes sometimes there is lag but that can be helped when people play inside there region Unless they have areal good connection, Point is this you don't have an ego and you have friends who like mp, this game is the one to get.

    Leider ist Battlefield 4 nach einem halben jahr immer noch nicht völlig Lagfrei. Ziemlich enttäuschend. Trotzdem macht es immer noch viel spaß, auch wenn man sich oft durch die technischen fehler aufregt.

    This game is not great, and EA refuses to let go of Origin. But if it's this or Call of Duty Ghosts, choose this.

The campaign is still not the selling point of Battlefield, Multiplayer is definitely the seller. At launch Multiplayer was terrible with bugs and lag, but very enjoyable when it worked.     Fun campaign, excellent multiplayer! This game is epic! Bought this game for the Ps4 one year ago, I usually finish games within 2 months and trade them in. They have fixed this game completely. Never going to trade this gem in. I have had no issues with it. This game deserves perfect score. Great game!!!

However, I was fortunate enough to trade in for multiple PS4 games so when Battlefield wasn't working I could play Assassin's Creed, Fifa, etc.

    However, if this was the only game I bought and the only reason I got a PS4, this    Is this the reason why you bought a New Gen console? It was for me. And yes, I remember the extreme frustration that came with not being able to play this game. However, I was fortunate enough to trade in for multiple PS4 games so when Battlefield wasn't working I could play Assassin's Creed, Fifa, etc.

    However, if this was the only game I bought and the only reason I got a PS4, this game would get a score of 1... at the time at least. Now with the looming Battlefield Hardline, I thought I'd mention that this game is better than Battlefield 3 on previous gen consoles. 64 players make it hectic, fun, but can strain a slower internet.

    The single player campaign is more enjoyable than 3 but not quite the caliber of the Bad Company series. It's also relatively short (I beat it in around 7-8 hours) and I have a tough time not thinking that Call of Duty: Ghosts had a better story with more interesting "set pieces" even if it was over-the-top Hollywoodized.

    Comparisons aside, Battlefield 4 does offer a lot of variety in it's well-polished multiplayer and it can be fun to lone wolf as a sniper or help out random allies. However, Battlefield is the most fun while playing with friends and squadmates that know what they're doing and play their roles well.

    I'm also glad to see "Base and Spawn humping" has been addressed, ie. jets no longer have to take off and enemies cannot get to your base. That doesn't mean a game cannot be severely mismatched due to some balancing issues. I found myself quitting out of unbalanced matches after only one map and staying in balanced matches longer than I should have.

    I also think Battlefield 4 creates a better since of accomplishment doling out upgrades, new gear, awards, and "battle boxes" frequently. And balancing weapons and equipment better than predecessors.

    The vehicle controls take some time to get used to and are quite difficult. That can be a good thing because Air Superiority can more easily be combated. It feels as if the game has a more "rock, scissors, paper" approach to combat and an infantryman with the right equipment and skill can actually repel or defeat armored attacks.

    I also found myself using the PS Share feature for those awe-inspiring moments that your friends may not have believed in the past. Now you have proof.

    You may have heard of Levolution (sp?). Levolution basically alters the way a map or area plays. It is not a fluid organic thing however. It is a scripted event that you typically know is coming and when. They are cool, but some levels end up being cooler than others. Examples include map flooding, hurricanes, skyscrapers collapsing, etc.

    Also, I'm a big fan of multiple approaches in a multiplayer match, especially with this franchise, and Battlefield 4 really seems to take this into consideration. There aren't as many bottleneck areas or areas where a tank can dominate . Basically, all maps feel like they were tested thoroughly to ensure the proper ebb and flow of combat and to discourage any one aspect from dominating a map.

    Some negative staples of the Battlefield franchise still exist, like the aforementioned server imbalance, nerfed sniping, awkward melee, taking an objective only to lose it right after leaving, and "micro transactions leading to dominance" among a few other issues.

    Speaking of transactions. I am a fan of the Premium service. I waited and purchased it when the third DLC came out because I still got access to previous Gold Packs, Premium exclusive content (typically aesthetic), and it financially made since. However, I hate the fact that anyone can spend real money to unlock the best weapons, equipment, etc. It's pricey and a person still has to have the skill to back it up, but it can be frustrating in certain scenarios (especially with jets) or when your gun does get outmatched.

    Also, in case you didn't know; Battlepacks have different tiers (gold, bronze, etc) and have random goodies inside. These are typically scopes, camo, etc. and the odds of getting something more useful are increased (if not guaranteed) with the higher quality battlepacks. You can also spend real money on these.

    None of the micro-transactions should surprise you if you knew that EA publishes this franchise.

    All in all, I've had my fun with this game. The DLC is arguably worth it (I love it), Battlefield 4 is not perfect, but it is great. And I'm not quite ready for a new Battlefield to come out. I'd give this game a 9.5 now if I could.    … Expand

    Battlefield 4 is now really awesome!
    There are a lot new details which makes BF4 to BF4. I like the mix between BF3 moving and BF4 animation. And if you play with friends or with a clan you can play very tactically.

    They have finally released the winter patch. It does improve alot of things but this is OVER A YEAR to fix these issues that they've since launch. I still would not buy Battlefield 4. Save your money or go buy a more solid shooter like Rising Storm or many of the other Fps's on the market.

    It cannot be denied that Battlefield is heading in the right direction for multiplayer shooters. With the introduction of 64 online players, it's one of the best experiences you would have on a shooter to date. Where the game disappoints is the story mode, which is less enjoyable than the Bad Company series, and perhaps more free map packs would intrigue more of the public to make a purchase.

    Amazing just amazing. Gameplay and graphics are both beautiful. It feels so good, 1080p with 60 fps. The guns are very realistic and great sound effects as well. Best shooter so far

    The best fps i have played.Takes some time to get used to,but the multiplayer is the best.the campaign can be boring.But,the multiplayer,combined with levolution 1080p 60fps can give amazing graphical performance.

    This game has got to be one of the best war/1st person shooter games. I give it 4 stars only because their campaign seemed very bland but aside from that, it's really good. You have a variety large maps (dlc maps not included), wide selection of firearms, graphics and plenty of explosive action/destruction. I definitely recommend this to anybody who's into war games.

    I have had this game since launch on the ps4, the start was horrendous... but out of all the games i have on my ps4 i still go back to this game and love it. So for that reason i have to give it a 10 i have played for years and still love it . The bullet drop, the sounds of guns , there is not better fps on ps4 period.

    Still playing it 2 years after launch. Online play is the most fun I have had with my clothes on.

    You cannot beat a BF4 online session into the wee small hours. Yes it's not perfect but i'm still playing it.

    This game makes CoD look like total s***. there is so much to do in this game will I jump in a Tank? a jeep? go on foot? spawn on an ally? it's 100% your choice. (you can spawn in vehicles which is nice) The amount of customization is amazing also there's scopes, grips, camo etc for all your weapons you can also customize vehicles. This game gets a great score at 10/10

    No bugs anymore on PS4. The game is fantastic. Great gameplay and great graphics. Wish there were more expansion packs to come. I don't need Battlefield Hardline, just need more expansion packs on Battlefield 4 please!

    Just skip the campaing which sucks (or use it only for learning the basics) and go to multiplayer where you can spend hours and hours of fun. This title made me believe in shooters again.

    An amazing FPS, bar the buggy launch it's maps are fun, vehicles are good and it has an overwhelming amount of guns, definitely one of the best FPS games for next gen. Levolution is also amazing on some maps.

    Best online multiplayer I've ever seen (might be 'cuz I'm not playing online for too long). Extremely fun to play with a dedicated group of people. It's actually quite playable now and free DLC support is coming as well. Also light years in front of a certain "sequel" by Visceral games

I understand there may have been gliches and rubberbanding but it was fixed in 2014. The campaign is not the best but the graphics are awesome. There are little bugs here and there in the campaign, but BF4 is not about the campaign, its about the multiplayer. Well, i hopeBattlefield 4 is about the best game i have ever played.     I have been playing this game for about 4 to 5 years and I still find a reason to go back and play some more. The great progression sistem, weapon and map variety makes this one of the most complete FPS games out there. You can pick this game up and its dlc for about 20 bucks, and its completely worth it.
    My biggest con is the awful campaign mode.

Thankfully, Dice LA has been in the cockpit addressing these issues. Dice LA continues to release content for the game even today. The combat in the game is slightly altered meaning that if you kill an enemy your rewarded points and this contributes to your'e overall score sort of similar to BF4

Most of the times the enemy soldiers are communicating to each other and would try to shoot you from a far almost never moving up, They also take cover and fire on the player and squad. You can also order your squad mates (or any other friendly soldiers encountered) To engage a specific target you would also be awarded points for every squad kill. The campaign mode features characters that feel alive and each differing in their own ways and actions. The game has the standard explosion set piece but also includes really dramatic moments that can be very inspiring or very upsetting, It has some hidden messages such as "the horrors of war" and "power corrupts" The campaign is entertaining and actually makes you carry about the characters and the story line. Multiplayer allows you to customize the look of your soldier and his weapons. Then partake in large infantry battles with some vehicles. Overall it's a great game and doesn't fall short like Call of Duty.    … Expand

Finishing the whole campaign, took me about 4 hours, and i tried to enjoy it as much as possible (not rushing too much).

    But screw the singleplayer, right? I think most people would agree with me, if i said this game is all about the multiplayer. Huge maps with 64 players is what im talking about! DICE have really done a great job creating a unique atmosphere in Battlefield 4. The tickling in the stomach when shells are shot everywhere, jets and helicopters flying just above you, tanks firing desperate shots at you never gets old. Unlike the singleplayer campaign, the multiplayer has A LOT of depth to the game. Wether you like vehicle combat, or infantry combat, there are a lot of customisations, and roles to choose from. There are many game modes, some of which are; Conquest, team deathmath and rush which are the most played game modes in Battlefield 4 and 3.
    I've experienced that this game encourages teamwork. Either by healing, resupplying, or attacking/defending an objective with your teammates. The level of teamwork required, to be a stable team is perfectly fine. You dont really have to care too much about your teammates, but in the other side you do. There is a balance that has to be achieved, and Battlefield definately got that balance.
    BUT some unlockables, can only be unlocked by playing the singleplayer, and thats bad, because they force you to play something completely different, from what you're unlocking the specific thing for!

    Overall:
    Battlefield can still compete with many new FPS, and you should just buy it now if you already havent.

    Improvements i wish to see in future battlefield games:

    Singleplayer has to be improved

    Launch has to be more stable

    Premium feature has to be removed! - Even though the base game is good, and its NOT pay2win, the premium contains a lot of cool content that we would like to see in the base game.

    Those unfamiliar with the game, may want to do some researching on the 4 class system that battlefield features, as there are a lot of gadgets and distinct playstyles to each class kit. Another cool thing is customizing your soldier AND their weaponry. (Down to the camo, barrel type, etc.)

    The only downside to the online is the dimished community due to more recent Battlefield games being out. But if you can manage to get a good lobby, you have a LOT of fun! Also, the DLC may not be worth your money at this point due to the low server population and poor support for the other game types like obliteration or chainlink. BTW, if you like "gun master" from Counterstrike, YOU WILL LOVE THIS GAME!!    … Expand

    Battlefield had a rough start at release but now, the game is one of the best games to play. With new players joining into the battlefield action and old folks returning and revisiting Battlefield 4, this game will never die.

    I found this game's campaign mode really boring unlike the previous game. The multiplayer is really really good, a lot of fun modes and customization options for your weapons. This game is at it's best when you play the multiplayer with friends. Overall Battlefield 4 has a great multiplayer mode but a disappointing campaign. Now all the bugs have been fixed and its dirt cheap, so its a steal.

    As A Battlefield fan, all I can say is that adter 5 years I still enjoy this game in mutiplayer. Best 50$ I spent in my life. Not for kids though.

    Good graphics, bullet drop, very realistic game, many game mods (difficult to get bored), servers with up to 64 players fighting between infantry, navy, air, etc. giving you the real feeling of war, plus the squad cooperative (medic, engineer, support, etc) it's amazing an exclusive of BF.     This is absolutely one of the best fps games for ps4 and one of the best battlefield games that have passed in the history for ea. A lot of maps, weapons, free dlc.
    The premium edition was very worth it to pay one off.

    I have more then 300 hours in the game and I think that is enough to see that the game is great except for the campaign

    While Battlefield remains one of the best online console experiences, once again the offline campaign is hugely disappointing, as it's much too short (there are only 7 missions !). While they are very spectacular, they are much too linear for a Battlefield game !     Campaign was interesting. I played through it twice and had a decent experience.

    Multiplayer was very cool. Before BF4, I only played BF3 on my brother's PC and rented it on PS3 for an hour. As my first true experience with a Battlefield game, I liked how good of a shooter it was despite the bugs. That fall, I had the option between BF4 and COD: Ghosts. I'm glad I chose BF4.

    Battlefield 4 is one of the best fps games of the past generation and ,in my opinion, the best game in the series.

    Dopo l'ottimo Battlefield 3 le aspettative rimangono alte per i titoli della saga. La campagna è buona ma non è difficile intuire che non è altro che un contorno del rinomato multiplayer

    Всем советую эта игра шикарная Я не могу играть в бф 5 после бф 4 Бф 5 это просто высер от dice.
    Жаль, что игра больше не поддерживается

    Melhor jogo de tiro do mundo da história do planeta de tudo. Vou nem falar nada o jogo fala por si só, quem jogou quando lançou sabe, minha nossa cara que jogo lindo que jogo enorme os mapa, as armas, os veículos nusss 10 10 10 somente apenas.

    In comparison with the current-gen of consoles, Battlefield 4 is the shooter for the next-gen consoles. The graphics are even more stunning than before and there’s an ability to play with more gamers on the console. Choose the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One-version above the current-gen versions.

    The issues aren’t ruinous, and in the case of the multiplayer more an inconvenience that EA needs to address than anything else – but it’s enough to take the shine off what should be one of the best shooters on PS4.
