This is an uphill battle towards the massive fortresses of Verdun. A constant grinding struggle where the artillery never stops. Where the forge and “the Devil’s Anvil” continues to consume even the bravest combatants. NEW MAP: FORT DE VAUX - The first big engagement inside a fort during World War 1 takes place in the dark underworld of Fort de Vaux. Down in the maze of dark galleries and wet stone corridors, French and Germans fight ferociously with grenades, guns, bayonets, and flamethrowers. Watch your corners. NEW MAP: SOISSONS - Take part in one of the biggest tank assaults of World War 1. The French 10th Army moves to take back Soissons using their powerful Saint Chamond tanks. Planes, tanks, and infantry clash in the beautiful French countryside in the early hours of a hot summer day. Only the thunderstorm is louder than the war. NEW MAP: RUPTURE - In dire need to capture key bridges across the Aisne river, the French find themselves back into battlefields where poppies grow over a rusty wreck from previous tank battles. It might seem calm but this maze of steel beasts provides an excellent place for those who plan an ambush. As the sun sets over Fontenoy, the battle wakes up. [Electronic Arts] Expand

If ‘They Shall Not Pass’ is any indication of DICE’s long-term plans for Battlefield 1, fans have got a great season ahead of them.

Battlefield 1: They Shall Not Pass feels like it shouldn’t have taken as long as it has to release. While it feels good to finally have something new to sink our teeth into in Battlefield 1, They Shall Not Pass feels like content that should have been there at launch or earlier in the lifecycle. Three of the new maps are fantastic and stand strong when compared to the base maps, but there’s a strong sense of déjà vu about them. The final map, while good on paper, is ultimately brought down by poor design decisions, and the new weapons, while fun, are locked beyond arbitrary walls. There’s a decent amount of content here, but it doesn’t justify the asking price, or how long it’s taken to actually get a substantial amount of new content in Battlefield 1.

The new maps maps are a nice variety and add new weapons which you wont have access to when you first download "They shall not pass". You are instead given weapon assignments. I really like this idea because I felt the core didn't have enough to consistently reward you. And I believe in earning these items not purchasing a shortcut. The new behemoth tank is really awesome! Also The new Frontlines mode Is intense and action packed. the only reason I cannot give it 10/10 is because its not free. Expand

Good DLC to start with. Maps are better than the base-game in my opinion. Frontlines is a nice edition to the game modes as well. OnlyGood DLC to start with. Maps are better than the base-game in my opinion. Frontlines is a nice edition to the game modes as well. Only downside is you can't play this mode on vanilla maps. I am liking the new guns as well. Looking forward to the next DLC's! There are still a lot of things to patch and tweak in general gameplay though. Expand

Honestly, a bit underwhelming for a DLC. I was hoping that this would have added some single player campaign as well for the French, butHonestly, a bit underwhelming for a DLC. I was hoping that this would have added some single player campaign as well for the French, but apparently it did not. There are some new challenges in multiplayer to sink your teeth into, but it still feels too little. The only challenges that take considerable time are unlocking the new melee weapons, which you have to do by killing a bunch of enemies with a specific melee weapon you already have. Not terribly satisfying, to be honest. The new maps and game mode are OK. Not great, just OK, that is, I won't be changing my main game mode from Conquest to Frontlines any time soon. Expand
