I dont know how this is considered an RPG. Its not bad but its the same repetitive levels over and over, thankfully its a short game. Worth a play for the narrator. Not an RPG.

I love the artwork in this game and it's pretty fun but considering the hype I heard about it, I was expecting more--a lot more. I found the mechanics in Transistor to be more engrossing and I'm only making the comparison because they are from the same developer.

The one thing that really stands out to me about Bastion is that it looks like a mobile game. This is probably my favorite

The one thing that really stands out to me about Bastion is that it looks like a mobile game. This is probably my favorite genre in all gaming so I'm struggling to pinpoint why I don't find this to be spectacular and all I can think is that the story isn't very thrilling (this genre is driven by story-telling). I've struggled to put more than an hour or two into Bastion at a time because once I have my fun with the gameplay mechanics, that's about all that keeps me interested.

This is one of the most overrated games of recent years. Gameplay is poor, repetitive, enemy variety is non-existent (three or four types, the rest is color swap), levels all look exactly the same, with a lot of color swapping too.

This game became famous for the dynamic voice overs and the pseudo philosophical story, but anyone who has any cultural reference beyond gaming will find it

Also registered to review this game since I bought it because of a high rating. I think it's overrated by people who haven't played really good games with interesting mechanics and ideas. I had to Google for a plot of this game since I missed it completely while playing. Gameplay brings nothing exciting or new. Some soundtracks were cool but that's about it.

Amazing game. However it is pretty short, and maxing everything out/doing all challenges and gods really doesnt feel all that rewarding. No multiplayer makes this game kinda lonely. And no additional content added for the PS4 version really seems like a missed opportunity.

This is a very pretty and highly stylized game, but ultimately a button masher that lacks any challenge. I can see how it might be more fun on a tablet.

This game is ok, but nowhere near great. I think its one of those "wow-its-another-indie-game-made-by-two-guys-in-a-garage-so-its-automatically-a-masterpiece"-games.

No its not. Its fine, its ok. Its well executed and fluid, but it didnt get me hooked. The narration of the game is very cool, the voice actor is great, but the game itself still has a lack of depth.

I don't get all the praise around this game. It's a pretty good nice indie, but definetly not a masterpiece.
The best thing is the narrative, the worst one the gameplay, which feels clunky because of the ps4 controls not being all that good.

A good little action game with cartoon graphics. The overall gameplay is solid and the best part of this game, with new variety added into each new level for the most part. However the gameplay is so one dimensional that it drags the overall package down; you do nothing but kill things over and over in the span of 5-7 hours of gameplay for one playthrough. There are no platforming, puzzles, or different mission designs. It makes the game hard to sit down and play for more than an hour at times, it just gets too repetitive. I also didn't care for the story, so it didn't impact me emotionally at all. If played in short burst I loved it, just wished there was more diversity in game play. It's a simple top down 2-d beat em up/ hack and slash that is fun and polished, with some rpg elements. If I could score this game based on general gameplay alone it's an 8, but as an extended overall package it doesn't quite have the same effect. Final verdict: liked it but didn't love it. Expand

Finally this all-time indie adventure is ours to own. Slick visuals and sumptuous sound design make this a must-have. [June 2015, p80]

In all, if you haven’t played Bastion yet, now is probably the time to. The move to PS4 doesn’t boast many extra features, but the game itself is worth a playthrough (or two, if you’re into New Game Plus modes).
