    Bad North succeeds in making real time strategy accessible to everyone with easy to grasp controls and a straightforward set of tactical choices. However, some may be put off by the difficulty of the latter half, and with just one mode of play at launch, it's a pretty light package. Aside from the occasional bug, the game runs very well, and the miniature battles make for a compelling experience. If you're looking for a streamlined strategy title you can play in your downtime, Bad North is an imperfect but solid solution.

It features some traditional tower defense mechanics with a visual style that reminisces of Islanders, for a very cute, viking-slashing experience. Although the difficulty could be a bit harsh at the beginning, some roguelite elements (powerups for your next run, save points) can aid your battle in consecutive runs. Even when I enjoyed upgrading & watching my squad of little soldiers fend off vikings, it felt like the experience washed out quite long before the credits rolled. Despite all that, the overall experience is fun for the most part - one thumb up for this cute, bloody indie.… Expand

    The game is pretty, but too simple. I like the feel but it really could do with being a bit more difficult than put your archers by the shore,The game is pretty, but too simple. Would be more suited to a phone to play whilst on the toilet or the bus. The developers could do with adding more content such as extra units, the ability to upgrade your houses.
