    Black Flag is my favourite Assassins Creed game, but it would have bene better if it had nothing to do with Assassins Creed. With the exception of leaps of faith, pretty much every element here from AC has lead me to realize how much I dislike the franchise. Boring tailing missions, annoying sneaking missions, stupid chase sequences that have 0 flexibility…and don’t even get me started onBlack Flag is my favourite Assassins Creed game, but it would have bene better if it had nothing to do with Assassins Creed. With the exception of leaps of faith, pretty much every element here from AC has lead me to realize how much I dislike the franchise. Boring tailing missions, annoying sneaking missions, stupid chase sequences that have 0 flexibility…and don’t even get me started on eavesdropping…hell technically a huge part of the game is about a mcguffin that lets you eavesdrop on anyone…and the MODERN day parts are so bad and boring it reminds me of when they force you to play as Mary Jane in Spiderman ps4…Assassins Creed has always been worse because of its modern day elements and the animus. The series would have been far better without all that because it pulls you out of the moment and makes it far harder to get invested in your character and time period. Seeing all the stupid blue loading lines and even the interface breaks the illusion, or 4th wall if you will, that im a swashbuckling pirate…

    Why do I give the game an 8? Because I love pirates. I enjoy sailing and upgrading my ship. Again, it’s the fact that I loved all these elements so much that I realized how much I actually now hate AC. I enjoyed the first one as it was a new idea, and AC2 as well…but Ubisoft has no idea how to make a fun game…they just throw the same 4 missions around the map 30 times and call it a day. They have no concept of what fun is. I bought this game to be a pirate, but once you get to the island you are searching for the game pivots from a pirates tale to more insufferable ac bs.

    Ubisofts response is to then make skull and bones…a game where you can’t even board enemy ships to sword fight…no wonder its been in development for 10 years. At this point ive lost all faith in Ubisoft, and I won’t be taking a leap of faith with them again. They cant make fun games, and seem to enjoy writing ridiculous stories so they can blow smoke up their buts. My advice? Skip the cut scenes and mute the tv when it gets to the modern day crap. Hidden in here is a good pirate game, its unfortunate its tarnished by AC.

    P.s AC3 I think is contender for the worst big franchise triple A game of all time. Ubisoft, just let go and take a leap of faith on something else.    … Expand

    A beatiful sequel of Assassin's Creed 3 with a fantastic free roaming style....and a great setting of atmosphere and a beatiful story.Still worth it to play after a decade only one thing is bad the repetitive of combat system style

    Black Flag dał mi nowe spojrzenie na serie Assassin's Creed. Przewybornie napisany bohater, który przemierza morza i oceany na swojej Kawce z liczną załogą to coś, czego jeszcze nie było. Gigantyczna mapa pozwala nam na wiele godzin zabawy, co jak dla mnie jest okej. Najbardziej podobała mi się Havana. Nie muszę chyba wspominać o klimacie jakiego możemy doświadczyć. Mocna zmiana.

    ACIV: Black Flag is a unique entry to the series. So unique that it has non AC fans liking this game as it is to this day, the best pirate game we have ever gotten.

    Large part of this is the fact that Edward is not in fact an assassin for the majority of this game. So instead of an order trained killer donning the robes, a privateer serving under the British crown drives this game forward. Not out of a sense of heroism, justice or revenge, but pure and unchecked greed.

    Edward is a highlight for this game, as he is one of the few protagonists this series has, that goes through a complete narrative arc. From a greedy pirate, to a broken man, to somebody who decides he has more than money at stake in this, to an eventually good man and a solid father. One of the few stories that are firmly piloted by the active protagonist rather than the villain.

    The ship combat in this game feels amazing. The fact that there are no loading screens from your first spotting of a ship you want to plunder, through the fight and boarding process to the eventual takeover of the ship feels incredibly fluid. With each new upgrade, the fights get more and more fun as you unlock more options to subdue even the strongest ships.

    When it comes to the atmosphere, the simple act of sailing and listening to your crew singing sea shanties will have you in trance over how great this game is even in its quiet moments.

    One of the greatest entries in the series, and the only one I would put up there alongside with the Ezio trilogy for how much I love it.    … Expand

    I like almost everything about this game, the characters, the combat and the setting. but to be completeley honest i don't really like the ship combat that much at least i don't like it as much as i really want to. I really want to love it but i just can't. and since the game is focused on ships and that kinda stuff i don't get to experience the parts of the game that i like.

    Story and some missions overall are nice, but the thing that frustrated me the most is that the game constantly wants you to upgrade your ship so you could be competitive in the naval missions in the game. You must play side missions to do that, and they are very boring and the whole expirience felt like a grind. Also,when pirates start to chant while you sail is music for the ears. But you know Ubisoft, they love to put grinding in their games,especially nowadays.     Dieses Spiel wird ewig einen Platz in meinem Herzen haben. Nicht nur das Gameplay hat es mir sehr angetan, auch die Story, die große Welt und die Nebenmissionen fand ich sehr unterhaltsam. Leider war der Multiplayermodus in meinen Augen nicht spielbar, da mit dort der Content nicht gefallen hat.

    El último gran, gran Assassin's Creed. Para mi gusto, el más divertido de todos, permitiendo explorar y navegar por el mar las diferentes islas. Seguro que toma ideas de Zelda Wind Waker. A partir de este, toda la saga se basó en la repetición de las mismas actividades una y otra vez en cantidades soporíferamente ingentes.

    This was the Assassin's Creed game to pull me into the series. The amount of things you can do it fun and exciting. The free running controls can be unfavorable at times but overall the shine outweighs the flaws.

Black Flag is an outstanding game that works more as a pirate game rather than an Assassin’s Creed game, however there are enough elements of Assassin’s Creed that it does not feel too foreign from the franchise. The main character Edward is one of the best in the series and his journey from selfish pirate to unselfish Assassin willing to take on his role as a father is a fantastic one that also has its slow moments. Although it is unfortunate that the moments directly involved with the Assassin Brotherhood feel like the games weakest moments the game feels more about Edwards journey about accepting the role of Assassin rather than showing his journey as one. The modern day segments are a bit slow but I do not mind them as much as others. Overall, this is a game I believe everyone should give a try.… Expand

    What stands out in this game is the naval combat and exploration component which took advantage of the large scale open world. The story, combat, and par core (movement) were the weakest parts of the game. Just like previous iterations of the series the par core is hard control. It’s way too often your character will go a different direction or jump down which you weren’t trying to do or trying to do the exact opposite.     This game is trying to be uncharted and sea dog but it makes it even better. The plot in the Assassin's Creed series is finally more darker then it used to be. I liked it even more then the second part.

    Хорошая игра с большим и красивым миром. Проходил её 2 месяца. Зачистил всю карту, нашёл все сокровища и тд. Сюжет для меня был проходным, 3 часть сценарно была лучше сделана. Морские баталии прокачали, боёвка все такая же устаревшая, паркур тоже. В общем - хорошая игра. Для любителей серии - маст хэв.Хорошая игра с большим и красивым миром. Проходил её 2 месяца. Зачистил всю карту, нашёл все сокровища и тд. Сюжет для меня был проходным, 3 часть сценарно была лучше сделана. Морские баталии прокачали, боёвка все такая же устаревшая, паркур тоже.     Very good AC, very fun and good graphics, numerous very nice Caribbean islands and many improvements to the ship that make it more fun, it also has very fun naval battles that can be a bit repetitive if you want to complete the game 100%

    Lo primero que te impresiona es la música, a parte de los escenarios y lo bonito que es ir dando un "paseo" en barco. Los escenarios molan, aunque son todos muy similares. Y luego está lo más importante, lo naval, los combates son increíbles, y están muy bien hechos, es cierto que te puedes cansar de ellos porque más o menos son todos iguales, pero a mí no me ocurrió, disfruté todos y cadaLo primero que te impresiona es la música, a parte de los escenarios y lo bonito que es ir dando un "paseo" en barco. Los escenarios molan, aunque son todos muy similares. Y luego está lo más importante, lo naval, los combates son increíbles, y están muy bien hechos, es cierto que te puedes cansar de ellos porque más o menos son todos iguales, pero a mí no me ocurrió, disfruté todos y cada uno de ellos, sobre todo cuando la música acompañaba a la perfección.

    · Cosa buenas: los personajes, derrochan carisma. La música y los combates navales, como ya he dicho. La ambientación y la historia son dignas de mención.
    · Cosas malas: las misiones en tierra son muy, pero que muy repetitivas, casi todas de espionaje. La saga y sus mecánicas ya empiezan a estar desgastadas, y se nota. Por último, el juego se te puede hacer redundante, porque es largo y muy similar todo el rato en mecánicas.
    · Conclusión: está, y estará en mi top 3 de Assassin's, me ha parecido un juego sublime, y si te gusta la saga, te va a gustar, pero no deja de ser un Assassin's más.    … Expand

    Плюсы: 1. Разнообразие активностей. Что в море, что на земле у тебя естт просто куча активностей. В море хочешь - бери на абордаж корабли, хочешь - охоться на акул и китов, хочешь - выполняй морские доп задания, хочешь - захватывай крепости и так далее. На земле еще больше активностей - сундуки, карты сокровищ, охота, контракты на убийства, испытания абстерго и так далее. 2. Морские баталии. Морской геймплей намного интереснее, чем на земле. Пиратская атмосфера, много активностей, различные тактики ведения боя, разные погодные условия (туман, водяные смерчи, волны-убийцы). В минусы можно записать только периодически неудобное управление. 3. Паркур. Простой, понятный, эффектный, что еще надо? 4. Графика. От игры 2013 я ждал меньшего, а тут она не просто не вырвиглазная, а даже выдает красивые моменты. Минусы: 1. Наземный геймплей. Геймплей здесь буквально двухкнопрчный - удар саблями/блок. Пытались различными методами разнообразить (дротики, пистолет), но не сделали таким же эффективным, как открытый бой. 2. Сюжет. Он никак не интригует, особенно если идешь не тупо по сюжету, а исследуешь мир. Особенно это видно в моментах, где у тебя должны быть эмоции, но их нет из-за разнообразных причин - от малого экранного времени до нераскрытия персонажа 3. Отсутствие мотивации. Все исследование мира построено лишь на твоем энтузиазме, лишь пара активностей хоть как-то вознаграждается (камни майя в пример). Пропадет энтузиазм - не захочешь исследовать мир, так как кроме как накопления валюты для прокачки оно ничем не прикреплено. Итог. Измененная формула ассассинов с морскими баталиями стала бы успешная, если бы не постный сюжет и скучный наземный геймплей. За небольшую сумму однозначно советую (купил за 400 рублей сам), но за фулпрайс не брать.    … Expand

    By far one of the more fun AC titles. It's addictive and the world is lush and fun to explore. The sailing mechanics are super fun and there's something kind of special about sailing through the night while your crew sings a sea shanty. Edward is a great assassin; he's suave and cocky and actually pretty funny. His story is surprisingly heartfelt, and this is definitely a memorable AC story.

    Does anyone bother to test modern games before realising them? Probably a rhetorical question. Black Flag like many others suffers from a range of game play stifling bugs.     My first and favourtie Assassin's creed game. gameplay was fun. And i liked the protagonist and the quick action when a Animal attacks you. But i diddn't know who the antagonist was. Also the game has quite a couple bugs. Like one time i was sabotaging a ship and there was a pirate that had his pistol super to glued his hand. But i just laughed it off. And i wish this game had co-op.

    The pirate aspect of the game and the main character have a lot of charm to them. However, if you had a problem with the Desmond gameplay in older games, well Ubisoft took a massive turd on your face this time around and instead gave you a first person walking simulator that is removed from the actual story.

I get it that it's mainly stealth game but e.g. stealth in Batman Arkham series, Spiderman or Metal Gear Solids are all more controllable for me to play. The last straw with the controls for me is that you have to run to do most things and running usually causes the character to jump or climb just the wrong thing, so most failure's are more like problem with controls than my own fault. The sailing part is fun for a while but becomes monotonous way before you have collected all the ports, ships, etc. etc. To summarise I'd say I played first 66,6 % of the game being excited and enjoying myself and then sprinted through the last 33,3 % just to see the ending that I was only half-interested in anymore.… Expand

    Easily best Assassin's Creed of all time, at least from modern ones, it's really good. Huge map, sailing, underwater exploration, so many places to discover, amazing soundtrack, good parkour, combat is better than previous games, likable main character, cool assassin outfit. Highly recommending.

Edward would jump on random things if you are trying to do a chase sequence and then you will loose the person you are chasing. The missions are so repetitive with terrible characters other than Edward.     AC 3 was huge fail, but somehow Ubisoft managed to learn from it's mistakes and delivered timeless masterpiece.

    Game had enormous potential but the bugs and repetitions take the shine out of that game. The story starts well but gets lost in the course of the characters are charismatic. The biggest problem of this game is to be from Ubisoft, this game needed more than 2 years of development to be a top game and a broken game that lacks polish.

    중남미의 그 쨍한 그래픽이 일단 역시 좋았고, 그 자연 환경에서의 파쿠르 그리고 여러 해전과 잠수함 등 새로운 요소들이 너무 신선하게 다가왔다. 스토리도 꽤나 나쁘지 않은 축에 속해서 켄웨이 사가에서는 1등인듯

    This part of AC even in 2020 looks good. Story is sort of trivial the same as in other Ubisoft game but gameplay, setting and atmosphere is awesome. Sea battles are probably the best in industry. Graphics is very good considering it's a PS3 game of course.

In my personal and undoubtably right opinion AC4 is the buggiest AC game ever. Forget Unity, which is completely patched now, AC4 got worse! The amount of minor glitches and parkour bugs I experience ruined the parkour experience and going back to AC3 or going ahead to Unity I realized just how buggy this game is. The bugs ruined my experience and no one talks about it. I found one review by a Youtuber named Whitelight which mentions this issue, but it's much worse than you think. Every time you're smoothly walking along the Ancient Temple in a remote part of the Mexican coast or Caribbean your suddenly created with a seizure of weird glitches and Edward sliding off the temple. The combat is also buggy as hell, maybe not as buggy as Unity, but along with the easy combat, which I don't like, the overly wrong tutorial and the most bugs than in other AC right now, it brings this masterpiece of exploration and fulfilling your dream of being in the Pirates of the Caribbean down to a 7. If you read this whole thing and played the game on any device, including the Switch version, I'm sure you'll agree. And AC Rogue don't fix these issues so unless you loved the exploration so much get Rogue for $20 on Amazon instead of the Freedom Cry Dlc for $15 because of the overwhelming amount of locations in Rogue, I think it's almost double Black Flag. Going to the DLC, how did they have time for a full DLC when they didn't finish the game, oh and multiplayer, if they go rid of multiplayer and Dlc and just fixed the game it would be a 9/10 or 10/10, they will probably never fix the game because they didn't fix thew Switch port, but the exploration in this game and Edward was enough to take this game from a 3 or 4/10 to 7/10, I hope this shows you why this is the score it is.… Expand

    I played ac 1,2, little bit of 3,4,unity and odessey. And 4 among them is best experience. Story is great. Main quests are bit repetitive (following a person). But overall gameplay is great.

    By trying the game and playing it for the first few hours, it’s a fun game! The exploration is immersive you can really feel like you are a pirate captain. The naval experience is still the best to date (year 2020) way better than the present game AC odyssey. My other complain is the treasure map quests, on my first try I am really excited about it, it’s a new, fun and immersive experience but right after your first treasure hunt, the effort and difficulty vs the reward is just not worth it. I like the protagonist better than AC3. He is next to Ezio. Overall, it’s a well-made game and still very original to date, but just not a fan of it.… Expand

    Overall a very tedious experience.
    I've played every other AC game bar Rogue, and I must say this is probably the worst Assassin's Creed game.

    Is it a decent pirate game? Probably.
    But for someone who is looking for an Assassin's Creed experience, I really didn't enjoy this one and quit it after around sequence 8.

    Arguably the best Assassin's Creed I have played and the most fun game I had in a while. For such an old release, this game is fantastic. Edward is a badass with the Jackdaw, the combat is fun and the Caribbean setting is so beautiful. Good gameplay + good setting + good story = Masterpiece. The only bad thing about this game is the tailing missions which take so much time and are very boring.

    You won't find a better game that allows you to sail the high seas, actually feel like a pirate, and also has an amazing story. This was absolutely the low-point of the game for me... thankfully, this only appears once in the entire play through.

    Late to the party here as I played in 2020. Overall it was an enjoyable experience. The sailing portion of this was the most enjoyable part in my opinion. It was fun to have your own ship and upgrade it along the way while taking part in naval battles. The controls were wonky at times as is per the usual in AC games. I actually didn't finish the game as the game literally told me "Maybe you should upgrade your ship." after I kept losing in a fight on the water.     As my first ASSASSIN'S CREED i can say that it made me interested in the series. I found it very joey-able with it's fluid game play. The story is good and the characters charming. Overall very fun game.

    My favorite game in the franchise. They really improved the Naval combat they introduced in the previous title and let us enjoy a game with pirates always a plus. Edward Kenway took some getting used to but by the end, i found him likable enough. 9.2
