From the makers of Don Bradman Cricket 2014/17 comes the excellent very playable Ashes Cricket. Here are the pros and cons.

    Pros -
Great gameplay, though easiest is a little too easy
Great control for both batter and bowler
Good graphics for England & Australia players only
Good sound, crowd noise goes up every 4 and 6 and wickets
All the grounds for this incredible tournament
All the players for both men and women sides
Career mode, brilliant and with great depth, and you can use existing batters and bowlers too
Excellent to pick and play of this great sport
Great selection of other modes besides the Ashes

    Cons -
Commentary is woeful and I mean awful, they repeat themselves with rubbish comments, this is the worse part of the game
The names of other competing nations isn’t up to date and I’m not sure the graphics are either
The bowling engine could be a little easier maybe to get some inside edges or get close to the wicket, it’s way too easy for the batter to get contact with the ball, making bowling the hardest part of the game.
Some frame rate issues and buggy/glitchy moments
And the question is, is it worth buying - YES. I definitely recommend this to any cricket or sports fan. A must own.

But in summary we now have a great console version of this great sport. Well done Big Ant Studios. Keep the updates coming.

Plays a superb game of cricket. A step up from the very good Don Bradman Cricket 17'. Commentary is improved a lot with Michael Slater, Mel Jones and James Taylor doing a good job. The gameplay is improved from DB 17' as well, the new fielding system is really good and batting and bowling is improved too. Having the license for Australia and England is a big plus and the excellent Academy editing system again looks the goods and will continue to have more content with each passing week. A must for any cricket gaming fan and the woeful and cancelled 2013 version of Ashes Cricket is completely now just a forgotten memory. Expand

Big Ant have managed to enhance last year's effort with some official licensing and, whilst the presentation feels familiar, the player animations look improved and authentic. Fielding remains something of a worry but the batting and bowling experience remains thoroughly engaging and satisfying to succeed at.

It may be occasionally janky, and despite best intentions, it isn’t always as easy to understand as it could be, yet Ashes Cricket’s bright spots shine through the flecks of grime. This is not a perfect game of cricket, but it is a good one.
