Among The Sleep is one of the coolest ideas for a horror game I have seen in a long time. You play as a small child and along with your trusty Teddy Bear side kick you must search for your mother, solve puzzles, and get through the horrors present in your own imagination.

Among The Sleep is one of the coolest ideas for a horror game I have seen in a long time. You play as a small child and along with your trusty Teddy Bear side kick you must search for your mother, solve puzzles, and get through the horrors present in your own imagination.

The game is fun, a lot of fun, but it isn't very scary honestly. I am quite a coward when it comes to games in the horror space, but I was able to get through this game without much wetting myself, so that's a good thing. I would definitely recommend this game for anyone like me who has troubles getting through horror games as all of the scares are quite manageable.

I found the game to be just as much of a puzzle/collection game as I thought it was a horror game. You go through and must break through memories to move onto the next part of the game, and to do so you must collect things, such as brass owls, and set them in a certain location to collect this group of memory-linking objects that allow you to advance. It isn't a challenging puzzle game, which is why I might consider it horror/collection, but it could even be stretched into a creative way to just avoid the basic collection of paper, keys, or the like that has gotten pretty trope-y in horror games. Basically the collection just leads you to more scares and uncovers new parts of the story.

The game features a good story overall, with a lot of deep and hidden things that have to be put together, as it isn't spelled out to the toddler protagonist. Loved figuring out the child's issues and real problems behind this Alice in Wonderland-type exploration.

The controls and mechanics are a little weird. They make sense, with them being a toddler, but the game features a slow waddle in the up-right standing position and a faster crawl. I found myself almost bugging out the game switching back and forth too quickly so I could move around at a faster pace. If you just slow down the animations get laggy, but as long as you let yourself fall into the game this shouldn't be an issue for you. Other than that has pretty good overall controls and mechanics.

In closing, I definitely enjoyed Among The Sleep and would recommend it to anyone to give a try to, but I found myself finding it just okay or just good more than I found situations or things about the game that blew me away. Good overall game.

[NOTES] The controls are learned instantly, that should say it all. The Level design is alright. Did get intense in som areas tho. The combat system does not exist in this game, but it dont need it. The dialogue is alright, majorly of the dialogue is random talk from the teddy bear. The Visuals is fantastic, note this game got released before RTX became a thing. The Visuals look stunning, and play a major part in this game. The only thing im gonna take not when it comes to the audio, is when the “Monster” is close by, and you will hear the sound effect, that caught me off guard the first time. When it comes to bugs and performance, I encountered no issues whatsoever. The Story is a bit short, I managed to complete it in 2 hours and 9 min. But the Story Plot itself, that's something I would recommend you to play through once. Now Replayability, i can not imagine somebody playing it more then 2 times. The Primary Game Mechanics, as a first-person survival horror action-adventure, the game uses its game mechanics well, from crawling to get more speed to Hug Teddy to stay calm. Currently(as i write this) the game costs just under $20, now the story might be short but i do think its worth the value, but just barely. Pros VS -Cons: +Greats Sound effects. +Interesting Prologue and concept in general. +Many potential jump scares. - No Hand Animations. "6/10 – Average. These recommendations come with a boatload of “ifs. Playing a Good game is time well spent. Could it be better? Absolutely. There’s a good game in here somewhere, but in order to find it you’ll have to know where to look, and perhaps turn a blind eye to some big drawbacks.” ~DeathKillerNOR~ ⚠️ IN MY OPINION ⚠️

Decent concept for story and interesting gameplay.
Character models look horrendous, as is the case with a lot of Unity games.
I played it on PS5 and it stutters for a couple of frames every few seconds; It's honestly very painful to look at, and got me feel sick. I managed to get along with it but this issue never stopped throughout the game.

Among the Sleep recreates a world between dream and reality, seen by a 2-year-old baby. It is intriguing and disturbing and tells an interesting story. However, it has some technical problems that can annoy some players.

Among the Sleep features a very interesting story with a great plot twist, but it fails to deliver a good quality survival horror game. The duration is too short for this kind of story and it does not reach a good level of fear for a horror game.

Among the Sleep gives a fresh perspective by looking at the world through the eyes of a two year old. The puzzles in the game get repetitive and are too easy.
