I used to play Herzog Zwei back in the day on Sega Genesis. This is the same exact game just with better graphics and faster paced. I agree that the tutorial is a bit long... But if you play a couple online 2 v 2 matches you will see that this is a very awesome, arcady tactical war game.... It seems complicated but it's not... I am overjoyed that someone remade this game. I hope it becomes popular... It's nice to see a game that is not another run of the mill FPS... Seriously play a few online games and you will dig it.. Expand

But there are very few console RTS/MOBA experiences available, and this is slick and strategic and fast paced in equal measure. If we were still in an age before MOBA, this would've just been called an RTS. The automatic creeps element is minor; most of the work is going to be done by units you build and give orders to.

Great game, ton of fun, coop against AI is a great option if you want just a bit of human interaction or you can go all in for PVP, or just stay solo against AI. Progression curve is pretty good, freemium setup is acceptable and not too intrusive, and all week long I can't wait to get back in and keep playing. Good stuff, scratching that Total Annihilation / Supreme Commander itch on console. Obviously not as wide open as that, but always much more to do with your main commander unit, have to keep involved with your battleplan.

    Go play it!*

    RTS/MOBA/RPG + More

I hear a lot of people complaining about the tutorial, but in my opinion it is a fine length. This game has good complex strategy like most RTS games, with a nice mix of arcade style Air Combat and Mech Combat. Maps are setup kind of like a Moba, each team is vying to destroy their opponents base. The game is very fast paced, and I very much recommend playing at least to level 5 on solo to help get accustomed to the controls and game play itself. The A.I. scales at Level 10, and again at level 20. Game is very easy Levels 1-9, but becomes increasingly difficult at each thresh-hold. There are multiple Game modes to choose from each brings it's own challenges and fun. You have Solo, Co-op, and PvP.

Solo consists of The Tutorial (Highly recommend completing it)
Challenges. 15 Challenges (Mostly easy, to complete to earn 1-3 Stars, faster completion = more stars(3rd star can be tricky)
Skirmish (Primary Game Mode, can be played 1v1, 1v2, and 1v3)
Survival (Complete waves of enemies without losing your base.)

    Co-op consists of Skirmish(2v2, 3v3, 2v3) and Survival. (2P, 3P, 4P)

    PvP consists of
    Un-Ranked (Basic Skirmish Vs Real Players(1v1, 2v2, 3v3))
Ranked (Ranked Skirmish Vs Real Players(1v1, 2v2, 3v3))
    Custom (Play against friends)
    Ultimate (Allows Ultimate Units)

The Game is free with minor limitations, Some Pilots, and items can only be accessed with Crystals(Real Money Currency) But Most items are available with the in game currency, There is an In game marketplace, nearly identical to that of Team Fortress or Counterstrike. You randomly get "drops" from completing matches. Drops can consist of basic items such as units, and parts for your mech(which can not be sold) To Crates(Same concept as TF2) Which you can unlock with Keys(Cost Diamonds) If you don't want to ever spend a penny on this game you can still earn diamonds by selling crates for diamonds, and purchasing keys to unlock other crates with said diamonds. Unfortunately if you don't not have "VIP" status, which requires buying the Starter Pack ($9.99 CAD) or the Prime Pack($19.99 CAD), 70% of any diamonds made off the market place is "locked" behind a pay-wall. Which you will get access to if you decide to upgrade to VIP. The game is not pay to win, as other than "Ultimate Units" everything is cosmetic. Ultimate Units are limited to the Ultimate Play list, Co-op, Solo, and Custom matches. Leaving PvP fair only using Units and items available to everyone.

The game has a lot of customization options available, between Units, Mech Parts, Pilots, and Mechs themselves. there's something for everyone. Everything seems to be well balanced with nothing being a guaranteed choice.

    Overall I give it a 7/10

is free but I don't know if it is worth anybody's time. The tutorial is long and by the time you get to the gameplay you want that time backis free but I don't know if it is worth anybody's time. The tutorial is long and by the time you get to the gameplay you want that time back from your life. It is a RTS that was designed somewhat cleverly for consoles. But the gameplay is a lot of tedious work. The most annoying thing about is the WTF design decision to make you have to constantly go back to your base to recharge. Also being only able to carry a low amount of units is really tedious. Also you lack a lot of control on what your units are doing and sometimes they do lots of suicidal things. I wouldn't waste your time on it despite being free. Expand

Whilst not necessarily bad as a game, and even though it's free to play, I do not recommend you waste time on this game. Nobody plays this anymore, slow introduction, slow learning how to play, a LOT to remember, and it's juts not compelling enough to keep your attention for long. Expand
